This restaurant was the old Mercer Kitchen located in the Mercer Hotel. The interior is still pretty much the same with a hip and chic vibe and quite the crowd. The portions are really generous between the huge salads to start off with to the main course. I had the chicory salad, veal chop parmigiana which was massive and finished it off with a tiramisu. I would say it’s pretty good, not stellar though.

An incredible evening. Food, cocktails, wine, service, music, vibes… 5 stars all around!

I stopped here to rest my feet while shopping, in between their lunch and dinner service. The perfect port in a storm. I had an espresso martini that held me over until dinner service started. Then I ordered the crab pasta. Let me begin by saying, I’m not a pasta person. It was one of the top five meals of my life—and mind you I’ve been to several Michelin Three Star restaurants. I’ve been dreaming of the dish ever since my return to Ohio.

My second time at Sartiano’s and am happy I returned. The meatballs and umami martini are amazing again upon return. We did less appetizers and went with the veal entree- very impressed. The atmosphere is cozy and service was great, we will be back.

My entire experience at Sartiano‘s was nothing shy of fabulous. Everything from the food to the service, staff and ambiance was all top notch. The Dirty Umami Martini was one of the best martinis I’ve ever had. It came with a spoon of truffle caviar which was divine. Some other favorites were the caviar cannolis, yellowfin tuna crudo, meatballs, the orecchiette pasta and of course the bucatini pasta. The restaurant is elevated, glamorous and intimate. The perfect dining experience for any occasion. My friends and I have been raving about it ever since! So excited to come back with more friends and family.

I was very impressed with Sartiano’s. The food was phenomenal- the paccheri was one of the best things I’ve eaten in quite some time. The cocktails are creative and very good, and the atmosphere is very cool. Will definitely be back.

Went during the Valentino pop up and everything was grand! I got just simple things like granola and a latte and was actually astounded at how even the textures and tastes were, well blended, sweet enough to satisfy a craving, with a room temperature that doesn't burn or freeze your mouth. Very delightful.

My wife and I were perusing the streets of New York. We ended up at this wonderful establishment. There was a gentleman. I’m not sure of his name. I think it was Luca. We were so touched by his personal ability and professionalism. We are going to invite all our friends and family at this establishment while you’re in the streets of New York I highly recommend you check out this hotspot.

This was absolutely one of the BEST dining experiences I have ever had. From the hosts to the service to the bartenders and cuisine. Chef Chris was amazing! We had the Doppio and Gnocchi with Meatballs and Caviar Cannoli to start. The layers and complexity of flavors was so memorable. We will definitely keep this gem close to heart. Vibe was vibing. Check it out, you will appreciate this SOHO sweet spot.

Came here earlier when they opened and it was a mess in terms of service. Came back recently and it was incredible. Great and attentive staff. The food was amazing. In my opinion the most beautiful restaurant in nyc. I highly recommend getting the lasagna and clams.

I took my husband here on a date and we had such a wonderful time...he's still talking about it. The atmosphere was beautiful and our service was incredible. Our server was attentive and was great at anticipating our needs. And the food. THE FOOD! We both had the vegetarian options from the main course part of the menu and...I have no words. Again, he's still talking about his lasagna and I still dream of the incredible flavors I tasted with my dinner. Lastly, we capped off our date with their take on the classic tiramisu. Honestly, I would go back just to eat that. Absolutely delicious. Overall, our experience was perfect. And we can't wait to go back.

Highly recommend. We came here with friends based on their suggestion. I wasn't too sure what to expect but the menu looked good so we decided to try it. Service: Service was flawless. Everyone was very attentive and gave great suggestions. They also refilled water very quickly. Atmosphere: Such a gorgeous atmosphere. We sat at the corner instead of the main area and we felt like we were having our own private dinner. It's very old world mixed with elegance. A great spot for a fancy date night or a important celebration. Food: We got most of the vegetarian items on the menu and they even made us a vegetarian pasta with red sauce. The food was so good. I don't think I've ever had focaccia bread as delicious as this one. The pasta was perfectly cooked, felt similar to Italy. Desserts were delicious, very decadent. Price: Considering the full experience and portion size, the prices are very reasonable. Not any more expensive than some of the other high end restaurants in NYC. Instagram: @TheShahLALand

Food: 5/5 - EXCELLENT food! The caviar, focaccia, tuna tartare, bucatini pasta, steak, fingerling potatoes & more just to name a few, were absolutely delicious. Easily one of the best quality meals I’ve had in the city. Service: 5/5 - Our waitress, Gaby, was incredible! She was so kind, gave great recommendations, and was professional. Atmosphere: 5/5 - Such an upscale vibe & crowd

Came here for brunch at 2:30pm on a Saturday and there were plenty of open tables downstairs. The restaurant closes for bunch at 3pm, so it’s possible they weren’t seating people past 2pm without a reservation, so I recommend you get one. I celebrated my birthday at this place a few years ago and it’s great for big groups for both dinner and brunch. Also great location and decor!

J

Popped in here on a very busy Friday night with my wife and 2 kids. The food was solid as most popular NYC spots, but I want to say the service stood out. Very friendly staff and super attentive for a very busy night. Even though we came in with two kids (11) we still received great service. I'd go back and recommend.

The location in Soho is so central & good that you would expect the food to be mediocre, riding on hype alone, but it is really one of the best restaurants in the area both with the food and the service is excellent. Ganon was fantastic with our order and Maddie accommodated us on our second visit. Sartiano’s is here to stay & is not just a trendy restaurant. The attention to detail from all the staff shows that!

Honestly enjoyed mostly everything we had. Beautiful meal. Got to try the burrata, tuna tartare, beets, meatballs, agnolotti, lasagna, branzino, spaghetti, veal parm, chicken Marsala, tiramisu, pumpkin cheesecake, bomboloni. Highly recommend the meatballs and spaghetti. Wouldn’t get the veal parm, was a little tough. Other than that, pasta and secondi all very good. Drinks were great too!

So amazing!! We got the coziest little corner table booth that was so perfect. The cocktails were amazing and complex and like nothing like I’d had before. The sommelier picked out the perfect glass of wine for me. The food was amazing, especially the caviar cannolis!! I will definitely be returning

Our recent visit to Sartiano’s left us thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding, with flavors that truly stood out. We started our meal with the meatballs, which were nothing short of phenomenal—one of the best I've ever had. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Following that, we tried the truffle fries. While they were good, they didn't particularly stand out compared to the rest of the meal. The calabrese pizza was another highlight, offering a perfect balance of spicy and savory flavors on a delightfully crispy crust. The spaghetti arrabiata was very good, with just the right amount of heat to make it exciting without overwhelming the palate. The ricotta cavatelli was exceptionally delicious, a true standout with its rich and creamy texture. We opted to sit outside, taking advantage of the pleasant weather, but the indoor environment looked quite inviting as well. The service was commendable, with attentive and friendly staff who ensured we had a great dining experience. Overall, Sartiano’s offers a delightful culinary experience in Soho, and we will definitely be returning to enjoy more of their delectable dishes.

Impeccable! The interior, the staff, the food... everything was top notch. The service was perfect, the staff was very attentive and welcoming. The interior is beautifully designed, it's both comfortable and luxurious. But the food!!! Every dish was an experience, both in terms of taste and presentation. Old world Italian dishes with a modern interpretation, the combination of flavors and ingredients was just to die for. Be sure not to skip dessert :) Can't wait to experience it again.

Really loved Sartiano's, not sure why it took me so long to get here. Everything from entering the restaurant to the food, drinks, ambiance, and service were fantastic. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered - no misses or regrets. Our server was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and helping us make decisions. There were for our us and we ordered the Caviar Cannoli, Crudo, Meatballs, Steak Tartare, Clams, Focaccia, Lasagna, Doppio, Caesar, the 10oz Waygu Zabuton, the 12oz NY Striploin, and 3 desserts. Note: I am not one to order meatballs out because 9/10 times they do not compete with homemade ones, but my goodness these were amazing. I would highly recommend Sartiano's for anyone looking for a really great meal in a beautiful restaurant. It's perfect for dates or group dinners so you can try a bunch of the menu.

Sartiano’s is the best spot for a night out to dinner with friends or a date. The food and drinks were incredible and reasonably priced. I would recommend starting with the fabulous caesar salad and homemade focaccia bread. The sunday sauce is shareable for two and I think it is a MUST to order. It comes with delicious pasta stuffed with ricotta and on the side meatballs, short rib, and sausage. The tiramisu is a wonderful desert that is easily complemented with one of the many dessert cocktails. Our waiter was very kind and caring regarding my allergy. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. You must go!

S
Sarah Galea

My friend and I were visiting from Montreal and it was both of our first time’s there. The restaurant was beautiful, we had a reservation and they sat us promptly. My friend had to charge her breast pumps.. which obviously could have been very awkward, but the waiter accommodated her. I also needed to charge my phone and Chris went out of his way to find a spot to charge my phone. My friend needed to leave at some point to pump in the bathroom and they kept checking in on me asking about her; and when she got back they warmed up her food since it came out when she was in the bathroom. The food was exceptional, we enjoyed every bite. The ambiance was perfect, moody but not too loud so we could have a conversation. Honestly; we couldn’t recommend them enough. If you’re on the fence about going, GO! You won’t regret it.

This elevated Italian joint in soho is a taste sensation. I would say go with friends and do family style to try multiple things. Wow!!! Literally one of the best meals that I have had in New York in a while. I had never been to the restaurant that was there previously so when some friends invited me here on a freezing Saturday night I was excited to try out a new place. The vibes were immaculate, very NY but in a good way. It was packed but it didn’t feel trendy, the crowd was a mix of all ages which was nice. They played hip hop & r&b all night which set the tone for an awesome dinner. They gave us a table in the back left corner and at first we didn’t know what we were walking to but it was perfect. It was like our own personal cave with the brick walls surrounding us and the long table. Each dish that came out surpassed the previous and we even got desserts because we were so satisfied we had to try it. I truly cannot wait to go back and you definitely should too!

An unforgettable dining experience! Amazing food and drinks. Tim our server was top-notch and the staff was attentive and friendly. It was so nice to see a "hands on manager", Chris, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It's a rare to find a place that excels in both cuisine and hospitality, but this restaurant delivers.

I always look forward to dining at Sartiano’s. This past weekend my friend and I could’ve ordered the entire menu! I love the housemade focaccia, fusilli genovese, tiramisu, and espresso martini. Their now discontinued pesto pasta was one of my favs. Service is always excellent, even on a busy Friday night.

We really loved our meal at Sartiano‘s. We had the Caesar salad, tuna tartar, Bucatini pasta with lobster, and cauliflower. We loved everything and the only comment is that there was hardly any lobster in the pasta (but it was sublime anyway!). Also, after seeing the lasagna being served to other people… we will definitely be back and to try it 😊. Last, but definitely not least… we loved our server, Emily. She was so knowledgeable and attentive… she couldn’t have done a better job. Also, the cocktail I had, which was the spicy orange margarita with Mezcal was terrific. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and we will be back. ❤️ Eileen & Lily Kate

We needed reservations and I know why! This place was a vibe and super cool down in SoHo for those looking for great ambiance and food. We ordered 2 drinks at the bar to wait, then were seated at the corner table. We ate the calamri for the antipasta was delicious. Came with deep fried lemons and limes, which was interesting but delicious. We got the pasta with the wagyu dish and the agnolotti. Both unique and very good. For meat, we split the pork chop which had a bbq flavor on it. Also amazing. Overall amazing place!

Solid Italian cuisine in the former Mercer Kitchen space in the Mercer hotel. We had: -Yellofin Tuna tartare w/ crispy rice -Homemade ricotta -Beef Ragu tortelli Each dish was solid, but we thought there was something slightly missing from the pasta. However, the service was great and the atmosphere is unbeatable in Soho. Would come back!

I am mostly giving this trendy spot in soho five stars because it has what is now my favorite Martini in nyc. The umami Martini has replaced the Corner Store sour cream and onion Martini as the most interesting in New York. It comes with a spoon of caviar and kalamata olives and is divine. The ceasar salad and meatballs here are top notch. Delicious spaghetti pomodoro. Cacio and pepe was good but not Via Carota level. The bar downstairs is a fabulous place to enjoy the Martini. The outdoor sidewalk seating is ideal for a late lunch on a sunny day.

Had a perfect dinner here with my best friend. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive without hovering. While crowded, we could still hear each other speak without shouting, which is always a plus. And this is the first time I've actually enjoyed tiramisu. Truly. I think it's an overhyped dessert in general but I would definitely order it again at Sartiano's. That, and anything involving the fresh pasta. Few things taste better to me than fresh pasta.

5 stars! Incredibile spot to come with friends or a partner, and enjoy drinks and or a fantastic meal in a great environment. Getting a reservation can be tricky so plan ahead, but its well worth it! Will return to try more items on the menu. Staff was amazing, everything we tried was delicious, and the environment is enjoyable to the point no one wants to leave.

Amazing experience - had tried this before when it was Mercer Kitchen and they kept a similar vibe downstairs. Apps were great, the focaccia with whipped ricotta was fantastic. The Italian was on point, the lasagna was a white sauce with many layers that would be trending if it were at some boutique like Don Angie, must try. We had the tomahawk cooked to perfection. Finally, the only dessert worth really trying is the tiramisu (pictured), it was worth every extra calorie!

Celebrated my birthday and had a wonderful dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. I was especially happy to find that the food truly lived up to expectations, it’s not easy to find a restaurant in NYC with a strong menu and great execution. My only small note is that I wish the martini selection were a bit broader, but aside from that, everything was fantastic. Thank you so much Sartiano’s team!

Such an amazing experience! The ambiance, decor, vibe all were super cool.. trendy, fun, yet classy. The food is amazing! We had a number of dishes, including the veal parm, and everything was so damn good. The service was solid, but not great. The waiter had a little attitude for no reason, they were slow and forgetful at times.

Warm, cozy yet energetic upscale Italian in NYC. We were traveling thru with a party of 6, and will definitely stop back by when we are there again. One set back is there is no kids menu, not even choices per our waiter, so the 9yr old traveling with us had to opt for a $50 entree. Not ideal, but still ok. I should’ve researched that in advance. Still a solid choice.

Sartiano’s has become a tradition for me and my girls - we try to come at least every three months (sometimes more!) and it never disappoints. The Dirty Umami Martini is hands down the best martini we’ve ever had in our lives. I even celebrated my birthday here, and it was perfect! :D We always bring friends visiting New York too! Charlotte is an incredible server - so friendly, welcoming, and she even remembered us, which means a lot in a city like New York with so many faces to keep track of. That personal touch makes every visit feel special. Every dish is consistently amazing, but the House-Made Focaccia is a must-try (you’ll honestly die, it’s that good). Their gluten-free options are also excellent - thoughtful and delicious. Sartiano’s is one of those rare spots that feels both special and reliable. Every visit is memorable. Highly recommend!

When in New York, an Italian dinner is a must. We discovered Sartiano through several online foodies and decided to give it a try—and it did not disappoint. Located on the corner of Prince Street, it’s such a charming spot. Upon arrival, the dim lighting immediately set the mood. We headed downstairs, checked in, and handed over our coats. The coat check attendant was very kind, as were all of the servers. Appetizer: Steak Tartare The steak tartare itself was flavorful and well-seasoned; however, we weren’t fans of the bread it was served with. Some pieces were slightly burnt, and when mixed with the tartare, it threw off the overall taste. Entrées: Lasagna & Paccheri Both pasta dishes were absolutely amazing. The lasagna, with its rich truffle sauce, was incredibly comforting, and the paccheri with tender short rib was packed with flavor. By the end, I was completely full and satisfied. As mentioned, the service was excellent from start to finish. We truly enjoyed our experience, and if we find ourselves in SoHo again, we would definitely stop by.

Wow. Amazing delicious food. This place is beautiful and has amazing food. We ordered the beef tartare which was amazing for an app, and the octopus. For the dinner we got the Lumache and the pork chop and oh my god the flavors were phenomenal. I kept eating and eating until it was done even though I got full after a while. Truly an amazing restaurant and I would highly recommend it to everyone. I want to try all their dishes. You have to go here. WOW!

One word - incredible! What can I say the entire experience from the minute we walked in till we left was so good, so professional, so sincere. Came to Sartiano’s on a Saturday morning for brunch without a reservation. Was seated within 10 -15 minutes and were given an option to be downstairs or upstairs. We chose upstairs since we wanted to enjoy the Sun. We ordered smoked salmon Benedict and vegetable omelette, both were sooo good. Service was amazing and the hostess was the sweetest I have ever seen lately in NYC. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was latte being $9.

K
Kat Quinn

Absolutely gorgeous inside, and the service was really excellent. I’d order the octopus and branzino again, but the agnolotti was skippable in my opinion. The sauce didn’t have a ton of depth or anything super special about it, but the pasta itself was good.

Got tired from all the walking we did and decided we needed to recharge with coffee and matcha. Glad they have a cafe tucked inside this restaurant . Coffee and Matcha were pretty decent and staff were super sweet and helpful. Will definitely try to book for dinner next time

For the appetizer, we had the baked clams and the house-made focaccia, both of which I think were the best parts of the night. The crusty part of the baked clams is very tasty and it has a nice texture. I absolutely love the focaccia; the bread and the butter have this sweet combo that’s very nice and fluffy. We had the spaghetti and the bucatini next. I liked the bucatini, very hearty, but a little bit too salty. I didn’t like the spaghetti as much. The Branzino I thought was really good with the sauce. We also had the plum torta, which I thought was good but not great.

Came for dinner last night and felt like the quality was top notch. Ordered the burrata, octopus, and fusili. Oh and the foccacia which was paired with a nice whipped butter. I wasn’t a fan of the olives in the foccacia but the bread was very light. So if you’re skipping bread so you don’t fill up on it before your primi or secondi, no need to worry. The burrata was one of the best I’ve had in a while and would come back just for that, so fresh. Our waitress was a bit persistent, but lovely. I think her circling back on if we were ready was slightly premature but not really a complaint, she did a great job recommending wine. I was a bit surprised there wasn’t a Malbec to choose from but the alternative she suggested was so delicious. The decor is dim, elegant and romantic so I would recommend this establishment for a date night. The fusili was filling, a good portion size and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I would recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the area.

Located in the Mercer Boutique Hotel. This is a jem in the Soho NYC area. Modern, sleek and pretty good food. The pasta was very good but the wagyu flank steak was a bit overcooked. Overall pretty good. Highly recommended

We visited Sartiano’s over the weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lively. It’s definitely a great spot if you’re looking for a bustling, high-energy dining experience. We were seated about 15 minutes past our reservation time and had to check in to get our table, and our server seemed quite busy. However, the quality of the food and the overall vibe made it worth the visit. Definitely would return for the food alone!

Sartiano's is a fabulous, sophisticated restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff are professional but not as friendly as other restaurants in the area. Having said that this restaurant is definitely worth settling in for an afternoon or evening dining experience. Booking the restaurant is very difficult. Email booking essential. It seems that ringing or dropping in to book is futile. Definitely worth the effort though the food, wine and atmosphere is exceptional.

Sartiano’s in NYC offers a delightful culinary experience with great Italian cuisine and friendly, attentive service. While the atmosphere doesn’t quite match the quality of the food—feeling a bit underwhelming—the dishes more than make up for it. If you’re in the mood for excellent food and a welcoming staff, Sartiano’s is worth a visit.

Food 7/10 Throwback to six years ago when I ate here and it still was Mercer Kitchen. RIP. The focaccia was stellar, definitely a must get. The bucatini was slightly lacking in bounce and had only four pieces of lobster. The salad and meatballs were fine, not necessary though. The affogato was very good and the tiramisu was way too sweet. Atmosphere 9/10 Very vibey dim lighting interior, spacious and bar area also probably good for corporate events. Service 7/10 Solid service, nothing horrible but nothing outstanding.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. I personally prefer sitting on the first floor, but this time there were three of us and it was a business meeting, so we had brunch in the basement. The basement is also spacious and perfect for having conversations. It’s a restaurant I plan to keep coming back to. Everything is wonderful, but there is a noticeable musty smell coming from the coffee cups and some of the drinkware. We mentioned it this time and they kindly remade the coffee, but unfortunately the smell was still there. It smells as if the cups were wiped with an unwashed cloth. As much as I’d like to visit often, this makes me hesitant to return. Aside from that, the food is great, the atmosphere is lovely, and all of the staff are very kind.

I only had coffee at Sartianos, and it was excellent—rich and well-balanced. Staff was great. While I was there, I took a peek at the downstairs space for dinner, and it’s absolutely beautiful. The ambiance looks inviting and elegant, and I would definitely love to come back for dinner. A great spot to enjoy both a quality coffee and a future meal!

We just randomly walked into Sartiano's for a quick lunch. The place itself is pretty nice and spacious. Service was good, and the coffee was great ! I got a latte with oat milk, and that was pretty amazing. But on the food side, it was just okay. My husband got some kind of "breakfast burger" and he wasn't really impressed, and my daughter's cacio e pepe pasta wasn't so great either. During the day, it seems like a nice spot to just grab a cup of coffee with a friend, but honestly, it probably gets better during dinner hours.

I went here with my family for the first time, and overall we had a great experience. We started by sharing a salad, and even though I am not a big fan of salads, I ended up loving it because everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. I then ordered the gnocchi, which was very filling but tasty. My brother and dad shared a veal parm that was definitely more than enough for two people! I tried some and thought it was the best veal parm I’ve ever had. For dessert, we split the tiramisu, which was presented beautifully, with an elegant look on the plate. It tasted very different from the ones I had in Italy and was just okay, definitely not the best I’ve had. The service was decent, our waitress was really nice throughout most of the dinner. However, toward the end, she disappeared for a little while. The atmosphere was upbeat and lively, with festive holiday decorations and a bustling bar scene that made it a fun place for a family dinner.

Food is excellent. Getting reservations or space at bar is tough. Bar staff are transactional, not friendly but competent. Greeters and waiters have much less attitude, and generally very pleasant.

I went to this restaurant on Friday 8/22/2025 and had really high hopes. I have been meaning to try this place out for awhile and they never seemed to have a reservation available. (Side note: I initially found out about this place through an instagram post about restaurants to try in NYC.) Anyways I got one for 630p on a Friday, a bit early for us but whatever. So the place is really nice and I love the vibe. It looks like a perfect place to host a party. The staff didn't come over to ask how the food was, but still they were very attentive. The cocktails were ok, I have had better. The appetizers were amazing!! Panzanella salad, meatballs, caviar and focaccia . . . Delicious! The main course I got was meh, the fusili pasta. First they never came around with fresh pepper or grated parmesan which I thought was very strange for an Italian place. My husband really enjoyed his lasagna though. Dessert was cold and did not seem fresh. They forgot one of our cocktails. Luckily it was not on the bill. Total bill was $500+, totally not worth it. They started off strong and they were at a 4 stars for me but towards the end of the night it was more like a 2.75 - 3. It was a cool place but definitely will not be coming back.

Came by during the pm for a drink, the salad was good and local brewery is a good choice. Came back for breakfast, waited for an hour after placing order, and informed they don’t have salmon. OMG, the waiter blame the kitchen. Awful place in the morning.

The food was excellent across the board—there’s really nothing to criticize in that regard. However, the service was extremely slow. There were many customers, yet I noticed only one person taking orders. The main reason for giving this place just three stars is that, despite the restaurant having a very nice atmosphere, I was quite disappointed with the restroom. I don’t understand how it could be so dirty—the toilet was unclean, there was no toilet paper, and used tissue was stuck around the toilet. It slightly ruined my mood, as cleanliness—especially in the restroom—is very important to me.

A classy and intimate spot for date night. Upon arriving at The Mercer, you check in with the host downstairs and wait for your table in the front foyer, which features a quaint coffee bar. While waiting, I had a cortado—a beautifully balanced cup with chocolate-caramel notes and just the right hint of creaminess. The main dining area downstairs is gently dimmed, offering just enough illumination to feel intimate without being too shadowy—perfect for a cozy evening. Now, onto the food. It was... alright. The pasta did its job but lacked the depth and boldness I was hoping for. The sauce fell a little flat, missing that extra touch of flavor to make it truly memorable. A bit disappointing, but thankfully, great company, excellent service, and well-crafted drinks made up for it. Would I return? Maybe—for the ambiance, hospitality, and that stellar cortado. But for the food? Not in a rush.

Nice vibe, good food and flavors. Mediocre service. Waited for server to re-appear to order wine as food got cold. For the price, would expect more attention to details.

- Service was great. Our server had a lovely personality and was knowledgeable about the menu. Support staff was also very efficient. - Food was average and nothing special, especially considering the prices they are charging. - We were given the worst table in the house, directly next to the host stand and stairs, despite us celebrating a birthday. - We were told our table wasn’t ready when we checked in, only to be sat at the table directly next to the host stand that was empty fifteen minutes ago when we had walked in (so it was ready). - Apple crostata dessert was embarrassingly small.

Feels like a major downgrade from Mecer Kitchen (rip). I tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Chicory Salad. Even though the honey crisp on the chicken was pretty good both dishes were rather bland, especially the salad. I think we ordered being used to Mercer Kitchen but I just realized it's an itlian place, so I'd be open to coming back and trying the appropriate fare.

Sadly there is nothing special here. Just a mediocre restaurant with mediocre food and not a very warm inviting place. IF YOU LOVE SALT THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU. I have never drunk so much water to overcome the saltiness of the food here. It’s obviously they master NaCl !!! The steak was ok. The borderlaise sauce which they charge 5 dollars for was inedible. Luckily I poured some on a plate to taste it. The color was wrong and the taste was more saline than anything else. Ketchup might might have been better! Plus the bordelaise was the only sauce they offered-SAD! I won’t even discuss the Caesar salad but what a disappointment. They would have been better off if they bought a bottled dressing. I had to ask for pepper but it didn’t help this tower of lettuce. Now the one thing that was good was their take on lasagna. You receive a bowl of meat and sauce and then a pan of lasagna noodles with cheese etc. It salvaged the meal but it wasn’t superb. The dessert with pecans was like a reconstructioned bread pudding good but not stellar. Well, that is what I will conclude with is that there is nothing stellar here. If you are into hotel restaurants, there are far better ones in MANHATTAN. Oh I left out the mystery of mysteries here/ the UMAMI martini. If you are into salt which is the main theme here, I still wouldn’t order it. The teaspoon of caviar in its presentation is REDUNDANT. Our waiter from Maine was jovial. The restrooms are poorly planned and needed refreshing. The door in the disabled restroom hit me in the butt while I was washing my hands. We had to stop for bottled water to flush out the salt! By the way I did my homework. I ASKED in the restroom and even other workers have other guests said anything about the mastery of salt here. Believe me, WE WERENT ALONE IN OUR ASSESSMENT. One wonders what the comments were when they tested the menu here. I was puzzled by where they stored China and glassware. You can observe the kitchen. It speaks volumes. I wanted this place to be fabulous. I love the MERCER. Oh caviar on metal-TISK TISK.

First time I’ve been here - the place has a great vibe, but the staff/owners are really rude - with multiple encounters. I don’t typically leave a bad review, but this was not a great experience.

I had a sweet and sour birthday dinner experience with Sartianos maître d’ Chris. As a New Yorker, I flew in from Texas to celebrate my birthday with my friends and loved ones. From the moment we arrived, the maître d’ Chris, who should take notes from the fabulous one at the Polo Bar, was dismissive and completely unhelpful. I tell you, it’s your own people. As an African American woman, I thought he would be sympathetic toward me after telling him it was my birthday. The day prior, I went to The Corner Store, one of the hardest reservations to get in town, and had an amazing time. So, to come here and experience this horrible service from Chris was not pleasant. A white woman went to voice a concern to him, and immediately he assisted. I was so offended. My friend, a female lawyer at a prestigious law firm, was also dismissed by Chris. We asked to move our table because it was placed right next to the bar, but he refused to assist and made no effort to accommodate us, even though it was a special occasion. Because of the terrible seating choice, a drink from the bar area spilled onto my friend’s suede jacket—which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, as a guest was leaving the restaurant, he literally handed my friend a menu and said, “This is a bad table,” confirming exactly what we had complained about. Thankfully, a female manager assisted me after I told her everything that was happening at my table, and she moved us. Overall, the lack of courtesy, poor seating, and total disregard for our experience almost ruined what should have been a celebratory night—had it not been for the female manager’s assistance. I would not recommend approaching Chris for anything, and I’m not sure if his title suits him.
