We spent a week over Christmas in the "Adlerhorst" holiday apartment. The drive up was quite amusing – we kept thinking, "When will we finally get there? The mountain seems to end almost here!" 😂 Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome. The apartments are beautifully and modernly furnished. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! 😍 Miriam and Stefan do everything with heart; our children were allowed to watch the farm work and even collect the eggs for breakfast the next day. A huge plus was the air hockey table in the basement, where the kids, and sometimes even we adults, spent a lot of time. We thoroughly enjoyed our week. Unfortunately, due to illness, we couldn't do quite as much as we'd hoped, but we're now 100% refreshed. A wonderful place to relax and unwind for the whole family! A breathtaking view, a beautiful, spacious, and comfortable apartment with a conservatory and balcony (the "Stork's Nest") – and everything you could possibly need. We bought some farm products and ordered a breakfast basket for the morning – it was perfect, and everything was delicious! Miriam and Stefan are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. We felt very comfortable with them and found them to be very accommodating and helpful. There's plenty for children to do too – from a trampoline and swings to a slide, and the many animals on the farm – truly wonderful for young and old alike! We are absolutely thrilled and will definitely be back!

We stayed at the wonderful Gasthaus Oberplatzer with our two young daughters. From the exceptionally kind hosts Miriam and Stefan, the excellent cuisine, the superb breakfast service (all homemade) delivered to our door, to the lovely, clean apartments with breathtaking views, everything was absolutely perfect! The location is fantastic, with plenty of opportunities for hiking or simply relaxing. Our children, of course, loved the many animals on the farm, especially the cats 🐱. Farmer Stefan gave us a fascinating insight into his work with the cows and other animals. It was very interesting. Miriam explained everything else to us in detail and was always available to listen to the four of us. A truly lovely family. I think our review speaks for itself – we will definitely be back! 🥰

We didn't stay overnight but ate lunch. Perfect service, the lady speaks excellent Italian and is very helpful. Magical location and fantastic food. Very generous portions, carefully prepared dishes, and a very reasonable price. Worth a visit!

South Tyrolean hospitality with a dream view! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For us, the Gasthaus Oberplatzer is the epitome of South Tyrolean hospitality! The authentic South Tyrolean dishes are simply a delight: They are exceptionally delicious and prepared with so much love and attention to detail. We tasted the quality in every bite. But what really makes this place special is the welcoming hostess. She is super friendly and attentive and creates a wonderful atmosphere in which we immediately felt completely at home. The magnificent view of the Merano mountain landscape is simply unbeatable and made our meal a true experience. Our conclusion: An absolute feel-good place! Anyone looking for authentic, fantastic cuisine and a warm hostess must stop here. We can hardly wait to return!

Our visit today to the Oberplatzer in Vellau was once again a real highlight. We were last here four months ago, and we were absolutely thrilled then. The location directly above Vellau is unique: stunning views of the mountains, a magnificent panorama, and brilliant sunshine – it couldn't be better. The ambiance alone invites you to linger and immediately puts you in a holiday mood. Mirjam's service was once again first-class. With warmth, attentiveness, and friendliness, she made us feel welcome from the very first moment. Here, you can feel that hospitality is truly lived. Stefan did a great job in the kitchen. The dumplings were perfectly prepared – aromatic, fresh, and simply delicious. The select white wine paired perfectly with it and rounded off the meal wonderfully. For dessert, we opted for the Kaiserschmarrn, which was not only light and golden brown, but also an absolute highlight in terms of taste. All in all, it was a visit that impressed in every respect: great food, a beautiful location, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. This is exactly what you imagine a successful trip to South Tyrol to be. We'll definitely be back – and are already looking forward to the next time!

We had originally booked three nights at the Gasthaus Oberplatzer and ended up extending our stay because we felt so comfortable. Not only the location but also the hospitality of Miriam and Stefan were truly priceless. The food was fantastic! We'd love to come back. We didn't miss anything. Thank you for everything!

We arrived today and are staying overnight on site. Naturally, we tried the cuisine right away – and I'm more than impressed! The food is excellent and at absolutely fair prices. Plus, a view like I've never seen before, simply breathtaking. I'd especially like to highlight the incredibly welcoming hosts and the meat and vegetables from their own farm and garden – it couldn't be fresher or more authentic. A place to relax and enjoy yourself, one I highly recommend!

A cozy mountain inn on the way to the Merano High Trail or the Hochganghaus. We visited twice and enjoyed delicious quince and raspberry juice spritzers. The food, no matter what was served, was a visual delight.

From the Leiteralm mountain station, it's a 20-30-minute walk downhill to the Oberplatzer Inn. This short hike is worth it for the scenery, the view, and the food.

Amazing view, superb service, and the food was simply delicious! The children's pasta with Bolognese was homemade. And the selection of dumplings would make any dumpling lover's heart sing. Definitely something for everyone! ❤️ We'll be back!

Very nice, I reached it on foot following path 25a. After the effort of the path, I enjoyed a nice cold beer with a splendid view. I also bought some excellent speck produced by them, and the price was more than fair.

This was our second visit to Oberplatzer's. Each time the food was delicious. Much of the tasty South Tyrolean home cooking is made with their own produce, the schnitzel from their own pigs... and you can taste the difference. The homemade speck is also highly recommended! The hunter's pan with venison ragout was also very tasty! And if they have poppy seed cake, you absolutely must try it!

You're always in good hands at the Oberplatzer. A very nice place to stay. The view is magnificent, the hosts are very friendly, and the food is always perfect. Be sure to try the dumplings with salad and the Kaiserschmarrn. The apartments are superbly equipped. We'll definitely be back.

An absolute favorite spot above Algund! The Oberplatzer is a true haven of well-being! The moment you arrive, you feel the warmth of the hosts – incredibly friendly, attentive, and with genuine South Tyrolean hospitality. The view from the terrace towards Merano is simply magnificent – ​​you could sit for hours and soak it all in. The Oberplatzer also excels in the culinary department: homemade specialties, a diverse and delicious menu – there's something for everyone. A particular highlight: the homemade speck, which you can buy on-site – exceptionally flavorful and produced with great care. A place to enjoy, relax, and return to. A definite 5 stars!

Mi sono fermato solo per una bibita durante la discesa verso Vellau e da li si gode una vista magnifica sulla valle dell'Adige.
