Outrageously good food!!! The enchiladas were amazing, and our server was so friendly. We also got an order of nopales and they were outstanding as well. Got a draft Modelo that was bigger than my face. Great prices and amazing food. Highly recommend!
Love this place! On old Route 66. Second time here traveling through north Texas. It is so delicious! I was only disappointed today because they were out of Cabrito... We had tall margaritas and Taquiza de rancho for two. You can pick two meats for the street style tacos. Cactus quesadilla was scrumptious too!
Fabulous food, fun, colorful atmosphere, great service, good prices, located in an area filled with antique stores. Great experience!
Went here with family and can say it was good. Best hot sauce in town! I wouldn't recommend the beef fajita enchiladas, but I would say the enchiladas are good. The corn tortillas tasted fresh, and the chili con carne was also delicious. I will say don't be dumb like me and assume popular beers are on tap. Your waiter or waitress will tell you if you ask. I didn't care for the flavor of the beef fajita, but I was surprised my food was hot, not room temperature, and tasted fresh. If you are from Amarillo or just traveling old Route 66, this should be a must try for Tex-Mex. I will definitely be back.
We were seated right away and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu choices and alcohol choices. We ordered chimichangas and they were excellent very hot and well presented. We loved it and will definitely visit again
Outstanding food and great service 10 out of ten
Excellent chips and salsa/queso and chimichanga with rice and beans!
Excellent food. Was not disappointed in the least.
Britnee H was the best server I have ever had, please give her a raise! She was so quick, friendly and knowledgable about everything. Would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family
Awesome Tex-Mex joint! The beer and margaritas are large and cold!
Extensive menu with many dishes not seen at most Mexican restaurants. The food was presented nicely, served hot, and very tasty. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly and helpful. And enjoyable place to enjoy good Mexican food with friends and family!
Unbelievably Delicious. Ordered through Inn Room Service while staying at a nearby hotel. Was really blown away with our appetizer and entrees. The delivery experience was above average as was the hombre who brought the meal to our door. Travel back and forth thru AMA all the time and will add this mainstay on my speed dial. Cheers!
Great place! Great food! Great service!
Food was delicious and the staff was nice.
The Plato Del Oaxaca was fantastic! Every bite was flavorful from the beans on up.
Excellent margaritas Nachos and the best fajita meat I've ever had.
We arrived with 35 - 45 minutes of closing and they still welcome us with a smile! That alone has me coming back! The salsa was tantalizing and the crispy tacos were delicious! A Must Try!!
Awesome food!! Great atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Amarillo
It's not a high end steakhouse, but that's not why you're here. You're here for the delicious food and friendly staff, which you'll find in abundance! Two visits in two nights, and we tried cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos, chile relleno, quail (you won't find that in Colorado!) and lamb chops (OMG so good!). There's no green chile which is available at every Mexican restaurant in Colorado (and lesser versions in NM), but there are lots of unique sauces to try. Do yourself a favor and swing by - you can thank me later!
Some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten! I had the cheese enchiladas and the beef taco
What a treat after driving 850 miles. Our choices were to drive to Sante Fe or stop and have a margarita and catch a room in Amarillo. And boy, that margarita did not disappoint and the clay drinkware was the icing on the cake. Oh and they have bomb fajitas as well. Can't wait for our next cross country road trip to stop here again
Food was absolutely amazing. I always can tell how good a restaurant is by the chips and salsa and it was really good. Will go again.
Our first visit was fantastic! Our waitress Stephanie did a great job keeping our drinks filled and delivered our plates as soon as they were ready. Can't even express the food, kitchen did an excellent job with the dishes. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a terrific experience!
My husband and I stopped here on our way through Amarillo. After driving for eight hours we needed a beer and some good food. We got just what we needed. The salsa was truly the best I have ever tasted! The cheese rellano combo plate was yummy and the service was excellent! Seriously, some of the nicest people we met while in Texas!
Nothing beats visiting Route 66 while eating great food! Feels like I’m in the “Cars” movie. The food was excellent. The seafood soup was very delicious but beware, for spicy lovers only. Great for a hangover or even if you’re feeling a bit down. ‘Sopes’ plate was very good, taste buds are highly satisfied. What’s better than great food? Great food with an ice cold beverage. Wether that’s an ice cold beer mug or a tasteful cocktail. Drinks complemented the food very well. Last but not least, a great thanks to our server Karla! Very friendly, cracking jokes and making us feel welcomed. 10/10 will definitely come again.
Good portions without going overboard with the sauces. The salsa was authentic - not overtly dense and dripping sufficiently to warrant a personal bowl. The Tacos Camarones had U30 shrimps and it was spiked at the right level even for those who cannot tolerate the medium level. The Enchiladas Pescadores had minimal cheese making it delight the palate. The Chile Rellenos was satisfying in all respects. Would have preferred U15-U20 shrimps for this fish. The Guerrero used grilled red snapper with a shrimp and mushroom sauce over a bed of rice and adjacent salad - truly overwhelming in taste and quantity. The staff regularly checked on our needs. Can't say much about local patrons but if you're visiting Amarillo and need a taste of family style Tex-Mex you ought to give this place your patronage.
Jesse was amazing. He took the time to explain all options. He was a really great guy. The food was amazing and great value for money. Highly recommended.
Stopped in for lunch with several colleagues on a Monday. They were decently busy but quickly accommodated for our table of 8. Service was quick and friendly and our waitress was attentive. I had the Plato Michoacano. It had standard Tex-Mex flavors. The dish was light enough to finish and satisfying enough to fill me for the day. Definitely a good vibe in the historic San Jacinto neighborhood. The salsa had a great flavor and the chips were crunchy.
Great food, great service and amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
If I could give this place a 10 out of 5, I would. Absolutely hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had in my life; and I eat a lot of Mexican food. My husband and I travel extensively across the United States and love checking out local cuisine. Braceros came highly recommended and I am so glad we stopped in. The service was outstanding; Joel took great care of us! The food was mind blowing delicious, the margaritas a perfect blend of not too sweet and not too sour. Be sure to upgrade your margarita to get the super cool take home terra cotta mug! I loved the unique food items you don't find at most "American" Mexican restaurants. I had the quail and it was expertly grilled and perfectly seasoned. The food isn't greasy, nor is it drowning in a cheap cheese sauce; all of the food stands perfectly on its own. We enjoyed our meal so much, that we came back two days later to try them out again. Anytime we find ourselves passing through Amarillo, we will make a stop to come to Braceros!
I could eat the Beef Loma Saltado every day. So good. Today we had the lunch fajita tacos and 2 enchilada plate. Updated , still some of the best Mexican food in amarillo. Today we had beef carbon tacos. And the mogjete with beef shrimp and nopales. Wife had the Fiesta Mexicana with nachos flautas and quesadilla served with guacamole and sour cream
While staying overnight in Amarillo we were wanting good Mexican food, we found Braceros on line and thought we would give it a try. So glad we did, great food, atmosphere and our Waitress Stephanie was amazing, she was funny, very personable which made the experience even better. The margaritas were Amazing. Hard to find parking because so busy but it was well worth the short walk. Highly recommend the beef fajitas!!!
My favorite Mexican restaurant! I have never left unsatisfied. The prices are not bad at all, even if it’s a couple bucks more still worth it. YUMMY!!! So the parking is primarily on the street and it may be a short walk, however I personally enjoy walking down 6th (historic Route 66) there are all types of locally owned stores to check out. A couple of bars. A brewery/bar. Vintage antiques, art. You never know the type of people you will come across. Most people are really cool. It’s a bit of a rough neighborhood don’t leave valuables in the car and lock it. At least for me I find that they picked a great location. Can’t wait to go back.
I was craving Mexican food. Braceros was the spot today. I got fajitas for the lunch special. It was so good. The waiter was friendly and we talked about football—one of the best Mexican restaurants on 6th Street.
I stopped in 7p on a Tuesday even with a group of co workers. The place wasn't too busy. The decor is very nice. The chips and salsa they on the table were excellent. I've never had fresher salsa. It looked and tasted like they had literally just finished making it. I had a chicken chimichanga Supreme with beans and rice. Several of my co workers had the Carne Asade plate, the meat was nearly as thick as a steak. All the food bright and colorful, plus it was all very authentic and tasted excellent. The prices were reasonable. The staff were polite and professional. We had a group of 10 and they handled our orders just fine. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in town
We decided to check out this place while visiting Amarillo. We went in and asked to be seated outside. We were seated right away, and had excellent and friendly service throughout our dinner. Food was to die for and it didn't take long to be served. The grilled lamb "Vera Cruz plate" was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a chimichanga and tacos Al carbon. Portions were well served and we definitely order more then we could actually eat. I would be there all the time if we lived in the area.
I went here on a Thursday night around 8:30, so it was pretty quiet. I had the beef enchiladas with the salsa verde, and they were exceptional. Both the beef and sauce were extremely flavorful, to the point I ordered a second serving. Would highly recommend for both the food and fast, friendly service.
Great food!! A group of us came here. I have food allergies and they went out of their way to make certain I had a great meal. Everyone enjoyed all the food. Fajitas by most. I had the garlic grilled shrimp with grilled veggies and tortillas!!
I absolutely loved this place! A friend that lives in the area recommends this restaurant, and I'm glad they did. I grew up in Texas, so I know good Mexican food. This place reminds me of a restaurant growing up that is no longer in business in the valley. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The people in this town are awesome too. I met several teachers in the area there for dinner. I had a great time and will be back if I pass through again. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Go try for yourself! If anyone knows the teacher to my left in the picture tell her I think she is cute. 😁
I came to the right spot! Jesse is the bomb 💣; the food is awesome and the drinks are popping 🍾 I asked for fresh tortillas because mine had got cold. Like magic fresh tortillas appeared 🤣

Good food and ambiance. I really enjoyed the salsa. We got fajitas for two during their day where fajitas were the special and the waiter pointed how we could save money which was very appreciated.

We got the fish tacos with beans and rice and it was REALLY GOOD. We got takeout and it was ready fast. I'm sad we don't have one of these in Colorado.

Thursday night was crowded with live music. We came from a downtown hotel. The service was great and the food excellent. Portions were generous. We went to the Polk street restaurant.

Our waitress, Karla, was outstanding, the food was delicious, and value was excellent. Margaritas and wine were the least expensive we’ve had in a long time, but good quality. We’ll be back!
Super busy and food took awhile so we filled up on chips... our server, Alex, was the best. Good was great once we finally were able to eat.
Love this place… good margaritas and great food
Over all had a good time, the service was good and our waiters did an amazing job! A little pricey but great for a date night or small get togethers.
This location is on Route 66 which is why we chose it. The area looks rough and run down, but this place was packed! The food was good, they have a big menu with a lot to choose from, plus unique items. Our waiter was amazing he stayed on top of refilling our drinks, and we had 6 people and remembered every order. I will definitely go back.

I absolutely love this place. David was our server and he's so attentive and patient and goes out of his way to make sure your customers are happy. Today was no exception. But I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the good. Ordered the beef fajitas nachos, which I've had before and are usually excellent, but today they tasted like the half-moon tortillas were old/stale. The taste was still good but the texture was kinda..... Not good. This is not their norm. It's a one-off situation and I highly recommend this place.
This place was ok. In terms of real good Mexican food, no. The salsa and chips was basically tomato salsa, had no heat to it, no real Mexican flavor. All I literally tasted was tomatoes. The enchiladas were meh, no spice or real Mexican flavor. The "locals" recommended this place but the locals weren't Mexican.... just saying. I'm sure there were other places that tasted better but you live and you learn.
On a whole, the food is a 7/10 average Mexican food, but there were a few things that got in the way of even that: food took forever, was cold when it came out, and one of our orders was wrong. After the wait, we just decided to not say anything. Most of the staff was on their phones; I think we caught them between lunch and dinner. And frankly, the place just needs a deep clean. If the food was remotely hot it would have been 8/10 maybe. I would give some thought before trying again.
The food was really good once we managed to get it. It took almost an hour to get out food and they only brought one of the main dishes before the appetizer. Took another 20 to get that and the other dish we ordered. Other tables that sat after us got their food in a timely manner.
A little crowded, the ground beef wasn't drained of grease at all, so it made me sick later that night. But the flavor was good. Bartender was a sweet heart. She made a great drink.
I'd be much more impressed with their service IF the waitresses would actually write orders down for a table of 5... vs trying to show off by "memorizing" our orders, then completely blowing 2 of the 5. The food, nothing special by any means. Taco Casa... cheaper, faster, and they can atleast get my orders right (and the taste, very comparable). Leaving my tea glass empty for the last 40 mins, despite my rattling the remaining ice, holding my glass up while making eye contact with our "waitress", etc... not a good means to any tip whatsoever from me. So, wait staff... this is for you. When you see an empty glass at the edge of a table, or hear a customer rattling ice over and over, or holding up a glass while making eye contact... means a REFILL would be nice. Considering we're paying $3 for about $0.20 worth of tea, it shouldn't take a ton of effort to get a single refill. I won't be back, since everyone seemed more worried about what was on their phone, vs what their customer's needs might be.
Plus for the top shelf margarita and the cute terracotta serving cups and terracotta plates. The plate stays hot longer keeping your meal hot longer. \n\nFor me the food was mid. It tastes much lik…

Had a take out order. Order fajitas and got a small portion of chicken fajitas. Didn't got the tortillas for the fajitas. Also order enchiladas and soft taco and the ground beef was over cooked . The gentleman at the registered seems like he didn't want to be there
Check what you're being charged for, I got the lunch special abd ala carte listed on menu for 5.49 for my handicap son. Total was $29, I asked how much was side she said $8 I said no that's not what your menu says, she said that's what's in the computer, didn't adjust, gave me $1 off I asked to speak with manager she said they weren't there that day.. Food was good but really should offer spicy salsa, has no heat at all...wont be returning due to scamming overpricing.
The little girl that rang us up was rude with no personality. She never said a word just handed the ticket to us. She didn’t say how was everything or what we owed! Absolutely nothing from her. Maybe she is mute. Our waitress however was nice. The food was ok. No going back though.
I went in and there did not seem to be any AC so I ordered take out as it was like a sauna. I ordered three things: 1. Quail, 2. Quesdilla, 3. Chile Verde fundido. They forgot the quail, and instead of Chile Verde I recieved Carne asada. Regardless the meat was good. I called and spoke to 2 people about the missing quail as I was already back on the road but she never called, nor refunded the price of the missing quail. Also the avocado and guac were way over ripe and tasted off. It's a bummer as I hoped to leave a stellar review as the people that work there seem very nice. I will not be back, nor recommend.

Honestly I used to come to this place a lot but this past experience was HORRIBLE! the high chairs were not tall enough for the tables and none of the straps worked, the server obviously didn’t care to give us quality service and I’m not sure if it’s a race factor or her just having a bad day. But there were 0 drink refills, 0 napkins, 0 how is everything, do you need anything? The food took forever and the chicken was subpar at best. Sad to see this place go down the drain and nobody care. Afterwards my grandmother went to tell somebody that the highchairs were all broken and if they would let a manager know because it’s dangerous and they responded saying “I won’t make any promises”! 00000 STARS save your $$ and time and go elsewhere.
I was accidently charged for 3 different meals after 1 visit. Will change review after this is sorted out. Could someone please give me a management, ownership, accounting number to call?
Horrible. I ate there 6 months ago and it was good. Not this time. They couldn’t get our order right and it was greasy hamburger meat, no seasoning. Service was slow.
Great food. Wait staff was at 1 table ignoring everyone. Eating and on phones. Our order was all wrong. Margarita was terrible . Lazy horrible staff! Only bartenders were working but drinks were not good! Eat here at.least 2 to 4 times a month
Wow, my mom and I just went in for a relaxed Sunday on the patio, I asked the hostess, “where’s the best place to sit?” She subsequently went inside, and in Spanish, said, “He asked me ‘where’s the best place to sit?’ Idk, at your home?” My mom heard her with her thinking that we didn’t understand Spanish. Then the new server came with the most disdain on her face and the worst way to speak to customers. It’s confusing to me how staff can come into work without the intention of at least providing a decent customer experience. Very disappointing. The weather is beautiful. I wish things had gone differently.
We was seated, gave us menu and asked what we wanted to drink, our drinks were served. Chips were served. Two other tables came in . Our waitress never came back. Another waitress came in and assisted other 2 tables and never asked us for order till 10mins after other couples orders were taken. Finally the waitress asked us if we were good. My husband said we will take our check since we had been waiting a long time for place order. No apologies , so disappointed!!!! Terrible services. I was looking for forward to trying your food. Guess you didn’t want our service!!!
Ordered burritos and chips with queso to go. Queso was like running water. Burrito has nothing on it but meat. The chips they have are tasteless like cheapest chips you can think of. I strongly recommend choosing another place before you order pickup. I'm sure there service inside is much better, one would hope.
We heard this place had authentic Mexican food. And I'm Mexican so I was super disappointed with the fajitas. They tasted like they had Worcester sauce on them. The beef was dry and overcooked the chicken was inedible. The salsa tasted fishy and was not spicy. We asked for a different sauce and it was spicier but still tasted "off". The hostess originally told is there was an hour wait. When we came back 30 minutes later we got seated immediately. We asked to wait at the bar and was told there wasn't one and there was. 😳 Bathrooms are singles and awful. Queso was bland. They had a band outside.
