Service was very unique and food was delicious my little one loved the chips and salsa. Most salsa’s don’t have any flavor or spice. 🥰 The menudo was the best I have had in a very long time especially in restaurants!! We will definitely be back very soon!! 🥰🥰

11.29.2024.. Came here on a recommendation and was served by Brenda. The Three Enchiladas Plate was AMAZING, and I was able to get a beef, cheese, and chicken one with my meal. Delicious food and Fantastic service. Highly recommend and will definitely return to try more menu items.

Simply spectacular… I’ve driven 1700 miles of my 2300 mile trip. I found this place using Google maps, based on the reviews. I had the chicken moly, the fresh guacamole, and the shrimp and chicken fajitas. It was all delicious in the service was excellent as well. I also posted pictures of their new menus.

Food was really good! Our server (Angie, per our receipt) was really nice and friendly. I wanted to take a picture of what I ordered but I ate too fast lol my camarones a la diabla were delicious and spicy the way I like it and my vegan husband loved what he ordered (see picture) as well

Authentic Mexican food! The atmosphere was nice. The staff was super observant. The food was made fresh and came hot. Dine in eating available. We had the Asada tacos which came with heaping amount of meat. (Ask for the "other salsa".) We also had the breakfast plate tree hat came with chilaquiles and a beef guiso with red sauce. The refried beans were phenominal. The second entre came with one large flour tortilla. We were disappointed at first because we thought we would need more. We didn't. Didn't even finish the first one it was that huge. We loved our food and will definitely be back.

Get the chunky guac, it was awesome. Taco plate was fantastic, I got the pork ones. The free salsa is also really good. One friend claimed “top 5 free salsas” ever. Veggies tacos were highly rated as well as the breakfast burrito. 5 star for price, service, speed, and ease of a quick and delicious lunch.

El Tejavan is a great authentic Mexican restaurant right off of I-40 on your through Amarillo. They have great food lots of seating and the restaurant is a favorite with travelers and locals. The staff very friendly and efficient and we almost never ran out of chips. The bathrooms were very clean aside from some vandalism that had been done. Great place for large groups or families or just two. The atmosphere feels like you are in Mexico.

Delicious food. Our wait staff provided great service but charged us for a different table's ticket. It was corrected quickly, so not a big deal. It can get very busy at typical meal times which may cause a wait.

Waitress was amazing. Went in for lunch with some colleagues. Our meat was cold. You could tell food was old and reheated.

The food is usually pretty good. My problem is with the take out burritos. They cost $7.00 Sometimes the potatoes are hard. They are different sizes. I came in Saturday got 2 breakfast burritos. They were good. I went in on Monday, ordered the same burrito. But when I opened the bag, the single burrito was barely taco size. I tried to ask the hostess that brought out the bag. She replied that the eggs were probably smaller. 😳 I ordered without eggs..of course the burrito was mostly tortilla. I had stopped going there exactly for this reason. I hate being cheated. The burrito was nearly half the size. A $7.00 burrito shouldn't lay flat in the bottom of the bag.

I wish I had read the warnings before going here. Everything from the bland food to the slow service made this one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve ever had. Nothing and I mean nothing tasted fresh. It felt like they gave up on quality a long time ago. Definitely won’t be returning.
