Just had my Mother's birthday dinner today with her good friend, it was awesome and the waitress "Jordyn " was absolutely great and friendly, very professional ! Mom had the prime rib, her friend had the Pork chop, I had the open faced Roast Turkey with Fries and Gravy on the fries too! Excellent food 🍲! Thanks !
I have always had a good meal here. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff is friendly, and the food is good.
Great waitress, good food, no rushing to get us out the door.
Tonight was amazing. The food and service was phenomenal— probably the best service we’ve had. My brother and I enjoyed the stuffed and unstuffed lobster tails, my family ordered the stuffed mushrooms and jumbo cocktail shrimp for appetizers, which were both a hit, and my mom got the seafood casserole, as she usually does when she stops up. For dessert, my mom had the banana cream pie, I had the raspberry donut cheesecake (which was so delicious) and my brother had a yummy ice cream sundae. The food is always great here. Our server, Elliot, is such a hard worker and takes initiative. He was kind, extremely helpful and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make our dining experience a good one. He’s clearly experienced, professional and definitely someone I recommend as a waiter/server when dining in. Thank you, Elliot!
I love this place! Their food is amazing!
Our waitress Emma, so pleasant excellent service. Such a sweetheart. Food was phenomenal. Lobster tails and scallops. Cake for my birthday. Son secretly paid our meal. Best birthday ever! Thank you Raindancer.❤️ Best Birthday ever
Went to a late lunch with family. Two of us ordered the prime rib. It was delicious!
We went to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and we were not disappointed. I got the prime rib, and it was phenomenal, the best I've ever had! My girlfriend got the seafood linguini and it was also delicious. We will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend.
We had a group of 20 reserved for dinner. Our table was ready and set up for us before we got there. We ended up in a nice private area, so we didn't disturb other patrons. Our waitress was fabulous! She was very organized when doing separate checks. Flawless results. The food was outstanding! I had th seafood casserole along with others. Full meal came with a salad and 1 side. There was also a lite fare available as well. We stayed quite awhile yet never felt as if we needed to rush. Our waitress was attentive but also allowed us to have a nice evening, clearing without disturbing.
I ordered the prime rib special and it was excellent. Tender and tasty. My husband ordered teriyaki steak which he said was great. The service was excellent. Dinner, drinks and desserts for 2 people $120 including substantial tip. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We just moved here, had a late lunch here and it was absolutely perfect. Shout out to our amazing server Kimmy. She was so sweet, and our entire meal was smooth as silk, she checked in just enough so our drinks were full. But not to much so we had our privacy. We will absolutely be back and will be make our reservations with kimmy. Thanks everyone!
Been going to Raindancer for years for our anniversary always good. This year not so good. I take responsibility for not speaking up.First booth was to small for 4 people very uncomfortable hardly room for all dishes. Ordered prime rib med rare Came almost raw. Another person same way and mushy. Raspberry cheesecake not so raspberry. Paid with credit card with cash for tip. Waitress ask basically what we were going to do for tip.. very disappointed. Like I said I should have spoken up..
What a great family-owned establishment. The food, especially my soup and prime rib I had, were second to none . Our server, Valerie, attentively quickly and thoroughly met the needs of our table. Because of her great attention to detail, I will be back.
5 stars all the way around. Food, Service, Atmosphere, cleanliness, it was all good.
Val was a great waitress. The prime rib was outstanding
This is where all the locals eat, so you know it's good. Great specials and lots of parking (trailer friendly). They can get pretty busy, so be patient with the staff. Very friendly group of employees.
Had an amazing experience tonight! We were in luck and got the best seat in the house, right next to the fire place. I was craving prime rib, I get nervous going to restaurants after prime dinner rush because most places sell out if prime rib by then. But they had it! We ordered tons of apps also which were also amazing. Valerie and her “bestie in training” did a great job! Thank you for making our night great!
They make a strong drink here. I honestly don't even remember what I ordered but my girlfriend and my parents had a great time here. Is recommend getting reservations because this place gets packed fast.
Chris was absolutely EXCELLENT! We came from South Carolina and received the best food and service in a long time! We might even have to drive back just to eat here again. Thank You Chris and Compliments to the Chef❤️
Always excellent meals served. Service is great as well. Take out option always ready on time.
The Raindancer has the comfortable aura of a familiar place. It welcomes you with a polite and professional staff, has multiple seating choices and serves ample, tasty, well presented entrees. While I missed the pumpkin presentation, the season passed, their pumpkin soup is creamy, smooth and very tasty, without the typical cinnamon nutmeg ginger favor bombs. A well stocked and clean salad bar offered many choices. Our steaks; rib eye, fillet and strip, were prepared as ordered, nicely seasoned and came with traditional sides. The gorgonzola butter could have been smoother, but tasty nevertheless. The Jamaican, once know as Colombian, coffees hit the spot and finished a wonderful meal. A tip of my hat to Walter, we had a most enjoyable dining experience.
We had the absolute best prime rib here. But the best part was the service. Alissa was our server and she was phenomenal! Attentive, knowledgeable, pleasant. I hope management reads this and knows that she is wonderful!
Everything was excellent except the wait time & it wasnt crowded so I really fail to understand why the server took over an hour to bring children's chicken nuggets to a screaming 2 yr old...should of been served 1st. Makes no sense but the server knows why she did not get a decent tip.
This is my go to place for prime rib. The sea food, like king crab, is good but can be pricy. Definitely check what the market price is before you get a shock when the bill comes. Also, I prefer to eat my steaks plain, but try their horseradish and parmesan sauce is pretty tasty. My family enjoys coming here for special occasions.
What a wonderful experience. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, bathrooms are very clean, relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The food is fantastic! The prime rib is a 10! I asked for medium and it was done to perfection. The Coney Island hamburger was delicious as well, and done to perfection. Both of our meals were "October Specials" and very reasonably priced. Raindancer is definitely a must for restaurant affectionatos!
The prime rib is incredible my first time to eat there I'm from Alabama my uncle used to take my aunt there every weekend it was their favorite spot very courteous staff we sat at a table but the bar was very nice also. A little pricey but you definitely got your money's worth. I highly recommend it if you are in upstate New York
Wonderful atmosphere and friendly wait staff. The food was outstanding and priced right. They have a nice salad bar and desert selection. This is a very popular place so I would recommend calling ahead for reservations! As busy as they were tonight; we were brought our food fairly quickly.
This restaurant has been around for a very long time. It's known for its quality. Just recently celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary there and had the best Prime Rib I've ever had in my life. I'm quite the snob when it comes to Prime Rib, so I'm not exaggerating when I say it was perfect. Amazing cut, cooked perfectly, and the service was good as well. Highly recommend!
I’m originally from Iowa and have been searching high and low for an amazing prime rib and this place does not disappoint! The prime rib melts in your mouth. I also appreciate that they truly know what rare is. Good portions, good price. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic... I had the prime rib, medium rare, so tender and delicious. They trim off the excess fat. My wife had the Delmonico, medium rare. It was juicy and tender. Nice waitress and good service.,
Great job Everyone. Chris 21 was a great server, Nice job
Food was good but the service needed a lot of stepping up. Tresa was the worst waitress we ever had. She was rude when it was time for us to pay are bill. I was very polite to her and thanked her for everything trying my best to give her the benefit of doing that she could turn herself around by the end of are visit but I just got worse. I'm not sure if I will be back as things have gone south. The potatoes that we had received with are meal could have been more we never was asked if we wanted gravy or butter nor did she even ask if we wanted any appetizers to start off. All around wasn't a pleasant experience. It was very cold in there had to sit with your coat on and still was very uncomfortable.
I have dinned in and ordered take out. Everything is always done the way I want. Never had any issues . Great people and great service. I recommend them to anyone.
The food is, without fail, always delicious and the service is prompt, welcoming, and efficient. I drink iced tea and I love that they serve it fresh brewed in a large mason jar! The prime rib is good and not over seasoned and over salted like many places do. They offer some pricier entrées, but have more affordable alternatives as well. There’s definitely something for everyone here.
Loved this place! Great service, cocktails and food!! Highly reccomend.
The best meals in a 75 mile radius. Hands down. Have never had a bad meal.
Celebrated our 50th Anniversary with a family dinner for 30 people. Atmosphere was great, food was great and service was great. Was a little concerned when only one waitress was assigned to us but our waitress, Kim, was outstanding and handled it with no problem. Thanks for a memorable night.
Love this place! They were the only ones willing to accept take out orders in the Amsterdam area on Valentine’s Day. Ordering on the app was easy too. Thank you!
Very good food. The calamari was 10/10 and everything else was great. Great service. We will come back.
Sadly, I was here for a memorial luncheon. The food, service and atmosphere were great as always. My wife has many food sensitivities. We asked to talk to a manager in hopes that she could eat one on the luncheon selections. Instead, the staff listened to her limitations and provided a unique dish that she could eat. Highly recommend Raindancer!!!
I always heard about this place but never decided to go until my family booked reservations. The food was excellent. Prices are too be expected for high end food but the quantity made the value even higher. Large portions with higher end restaurants are usually never the case but here you get the most bang for your buck in the area. We were all very happy and it will now be my regular place when I'm in town. Chris was a great server. Just a tip, don't reach over someone's food to remove a dirty plate. Otherwise, excellent. Great job Raindancer.
Food was very good, nice atmosphere and service. Highly recommend. 3 orders of haddock and 1 nice prime rib. All very good. My French onion soup was ok. Salads were delicious. Gonna make RD a regular stop even though it's a 45 minute trip. Looking forward to trying a steak.
Amazing! Prime rib was fantastic. Service was perfection. This was our first time here so didn’t know what to expect and our group of 7 was blown away. We love the design of the restaurant with all its private knooks and rustic feel. The entire group loved their food by the way not just me and my prime rib. We got the toll house cookie dessert and the peanut butter pie to share. Both disappeared. Highly recommend this restaurant and if our travels bring us back we will definitely come back here.
Excellent restaurant with very good food and service. I had the seafood casserole while my wife enjoyed the filet mignon. I recommend both. We had the Caesar salad and while it only came with 1 anchovy our waitress was nice enough to get us a few more. Too full for dessert so no comments.
We had a bridal shower for my daughter today. Raindancer restaurant was wonderful! The setting was so nice. Alexis and Walter assisted with the planning, Alexis was so sweet and helpful, and our waitress Samantha was nothing short of amazing. She handled 20 guests by herself without breaking a sweat. She was calm and efficient and so accommodating. We all loved her and everyone commented on what a good waitress she was! The food was excellent and the room we were in was so cozy and intimate. Thank you Raindancer for a memorable experience.
Today we stopped in Amsterdam, NY (because we thought the name was cool lol) and we found this absolute gem! This place is amazing. The staff is super welcoming and friendly. Becky helped us out today and she is the best! The food is incredible! And the portions are hefty. Take it from us... we've never lead you astray.

Best resturant in the area for prime rib and many other good food choices! The french onion soup was great too!
NO salad bar, which is what we were looking forward to the most.. Almost contemplated leaving but knew their steaks, prime rib, etc. were excellent so we stayed for dinner anyway. Excellent, as usual!!
Excellent meal and an attentive waitress on a Monday at 2 pm. My only complaint is that I called beforehand to confirm whether they had steak on the lunch menu. I asked very politely because I work in a restaurant and know the stress of answering the phone... "Do you serve grilled steak at 2 pm on a Monday?" The guy who answered the phone, after listening to my quick question about steak availability, said, "Yah... we have steak. This is a steakhouse. If we didn't have steak, it would be weird." Not that this is a terrible way to reply, but he sounded so annoyed with me. Phone etiquette is still a thing – even if you are busy and the question on the other end sounds ridiculous to you. So... great food, excellent waitress, but one star off for the guy who answered the phone.
First off this place is 44 years old, and it has a nostalgia to it that we actually admired. The food was large portions and very good. The steaks are where it’s at the seafood is pretty great as well. Our lobster was a little overdone being poached and then broiled. The drinks could use a little work. The mixed drinks are weak or way too strong. With a less than awesome flavor profile all in all good spot we recommend it. It was our anniversary and we were not disappointed.
We had a salad and a sandwich for lunch, both of which were quite tasty but more expensive than expected for similar meals. The atmosphere is lovely.
The seating area is broken up into small areas so it feels intimate. The food was very good. I like that the Lite menu has many items that seem to be the same as the full dinner menu items except a salad and side is not included. The portion size seemed very good. We did have a couple of minor confusions - drinks were given to the wrong members of our party. And an added beverage took a long time to finally be brought. But overall we were satisfied and will consider returning.
Our server “The Kayla” provided outstanding service, efficiently and with friendly banter. The filet was tender and cooked perfectly. A good stop on the RT30
Raindancer is one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam, New York. The meals are more than filling, great menu selection which will satisfy all tastes, excellent signature cocktails, and plenty of decadent desserts that are big enough to share. Also don’t pass up their cheesy garlic bread for the table. I would also recommend leaving room for dessert. Their Coconut crème pie is the best I have ever had. That said we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday afternoon dinner there and this restaurant is highly recommended if you are in the area
My meal specifically would be 5 stars. I got the RD burger. It was amazing. Cooked perfect and the bun was great. The lemonade was delicious also. I’m only giving 4 stars because my father in law and fiancés steak were very under done and they said it didn’t have as much flavor as they had hoped. The service was also really great.
Hubby & I frequent a lot of the Area Restaurants in our Area but this time, I wanted us to travel to a different Town to try a New Place. I googled the Town of Amsterdam in NY & came across this one. Just from the pics & reviews I had seen, I told my Husband let's go & give it a try. A very nice warm setting & depending where they seat you, it can be very romantic. It was date night for us (we had not had one in God knows how long), so this was perfect. I have to say the Raindancer Restaurant did not disappoint. The food was INCREDIBLY Delicious 😋. My Husband's Prime Rib was cooked to Perfection. The seasoning they put on it, was excellent. My Twin Lobster Tails...OMG!! The seasoning on it was superb!! 😱 And, the Alaskian King Crab Legs... Holy Moly!! 😱😱 They were HUUUGE & Meaty!! EVERYTHING was sooo freaking good. We will definitely be going there again. The only reason why, I'm giving them a 4 🌟 Review is: The one pic that I saw on one of the reviews (Stuffed Lobster Tail) they did not have. And the other reason: I had also seen a pic of their Chocolate Mousse Pie. I thought for sure it was going to be outstanding. I actually got a chance to taste it when we got home. I have to say, it was good but not like out of this world 🌎 good. It was just good. I thought it would be light & fluffy with a lot of goodness but, it was just good.
So another Saturday, another restaurant. We've been here before in the past for dinners. Have always been good. Today we sat at the bar. Got a couple of sandwiches and cocktails. All in all good food. Good flavor. Only gripe was the fries. Just seemed a little to standard and to safe. The bartenders were outstanding and the service was awesome. Find a new french fry and I'll give ya 5!!! Thanks for the good food and service!!👍
I always have a good meal there, miss the salad bar that was always my favorite part. A lot of different options to choose from, i like the twin filet sandwich and the prime rib.
My family and I celebrated a birthday dinner last night and had an amazing time. I’ve been going to Raindancer my whole life and would absolutely recommend it. We ordered the French onion soup, a Caesar wrap, chicken wings, salmon, and the penne alla vodka. Everything was delicious. Our waitress (Alison or Alisha) was wonderful and very attentive. While the prices have definitely gone up, it’s still well worth it in my opinion. The cozy decor really adds to the experience as well. It’s a must visit in Amsterdam! 🌯🥙🥂
3 old friends went for late lunch, 2:00 PM. We were not allowed into the front area where there are windows, even though we had a reservation, and were seated in the dark, confined area with no natural light. We all had the long bone rib steak ($49.99). The meat was cooked as asked, but the quality was poor, much grizzle, fat, unedible material. The waiter was excellent. The chairs were reasonably comfortable. We do not drink alcoholic beverages, and the bill was $250.00 for 3 with a 20% gratuity.
New to the area- we gave it a try and was not disappointed. Wish they served Coca Cola but other than that, great atmosphere, wonderful staff, good food. We will be back!
Four of my friends and I went for $5 all you can eat wing night. Bad part you have to sit at bar to get the special deal. People who just want a social drink now have to deal with people hovering over them waiting for a seat at the bar. We had people just staring at us constantly turning a great night with old friends into a awkward atmosphere over seating. Let people drink and eat in peace open a wing only section not at the bar please.
A large group of us went for the early bird menu and the food was really good. I had the prime rib. For $5.00 more, you got a salad that was much bigger than expected, coffee and dessert. Great deal. The waitress was exceptional. She handled our large group with ease and grace. Great personality. Sorry I forgot to take pictures!
Visiting family in Amsterdam NY & they recommended this place. We’ve been traveling for 2 days and wanted something nice to eat. Atmosphere and service was the best, my whiskey was plentiful & full bodied. Our server was quick, friendly & helpful. Food was a mix bag: OMG! garlic bread was to die for. Pork was amazing, steak salad was just good because the steak was overcooked, salmon & rice were dry and the calamari tasted burnt. We would definitely go back though.
food was good, and service was lovely! it's a nice little place to get a bite. we even had a little fireplace by our table!

good vibes, not so great food. friendly waitress, loved the environment, but my sandwich (the motz?) was more fat than meat and they said it’s “just how prime rib is.” i know prime rib can definitely have a fatty layer, and that’s really no problem for me, but this was more than half of my sandwich for real. if you wouldn’t plate it, why are you putting it in between bread?
We had a table of 8, most of our food was good. Except our friends steak, he ordered it medium rare, came well done. Asked the server, if he could get another one that was right. She gladly agreed, next one came out Raw. So needless to say the gentleman didn't eat. He asked if that could be taken off the bill and she said yes, until the bill came and I questioned why the steak was still on there. She replied, " because he's taking it home". Our bill came out to over 500$. I think you could of taken a 35$ steak off that your cooks couldn't get right.
This has always been our favorite restaurant in this area. The last 2 times has been disappointing. Service was terrible. Never got my drink and after we got our food never came back to ask if all was ok. I said never got my drink didn’t say sorry or anything. I asked for check and that was that. That was in November. Tonight we made sure we made early reservations as Valentine’s Day. Same thing took forever to get service and dinner about one hour. The server never I mean never came back to see if we needed anything while waiting and then when we got our food never came back once. We stopped her ask her for to go container and she gave us them and check. Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Very disappointed. We always bragged about this restaurant to others before but I don’t know now. It is expensive but use to be worth it but not now poor service and food is not like it use to be.

Waitress was great. Thanksgiving dinner was awful. Undercooked sweet potatoes and fake mashed potatoes. No seasoning. French onion soup was bland . Seafood Mac and cheese was just ok. I was very disappointed with the food.
Nothing special about this meal. No specials noted or offered. I ordered a salad with steak on top. The meat was barely cooked and someone forgot the dressing. My partner ordered a chicken Caesar salad which also came with no dressing and no chicken. Best part was coffee and dessert. Very large menu but again nothing special.
Wow. This place is over priced and their food really isnt that good. I included a picture of their over cooked dark brown, greasy calamari. I also posted a pic of an empty glass of soda, why did I do that? Because in a restaurant that charges over $75 for a seafood platter (twice the menu price - i mean inflation and all) and over $140 for 1 1/2lbs of crab legs doesnt respect its customers to provide a refill on a glass.of soda that costs them about .17 cents (I know because I used to own a restaurant). Ive had a bad experience here before and it seems they still have not improved. I also included a picture of the old, wilted lettuce and carrots that I was just served. If you like wasting your money come to this place, only reason I have not walked out is because its my wifes birthday.
I apologize for never writing a review prior to this, because in the past we've always been overjoyed coming here. I'm always recommending the place to everyone who wants a good steak. So for Valentine's Day I booked a reservation over a month prior for 7pm for us and two of our friends for a double date. We actually got seated right away, got our drinks and apps reasonably fast. My wife and I ordered the prime rib for two sweetheart special. Over an hour after we ordered the main course came out. I see the steak and immediately realize it doesn't look right. Definitely not a prime rib, that's because they brought us the heart shaped ribeye. Overcooked no less. Everything was cooked wrong for the table. My wife was eating the seafood portion of the special and I was getting the prime rib. It's the only reason I chose it. So I mention it to the waitress who was insistent (off of memory) I ordered the ribeye. I make mistakes occasionally and I'm soft spoken so I might have said the wrong thing or wasn't clear enough. Then I realized they brought au jus...iykyk. A few moments later she comes back and says I did order the prime rib and they were out of it. 🙄 Ok. So I ate the mashed potatoes. They gave us half off and offered a free dessert. Which they ran out of that also. The place was completely booked, how do you not have enough for a 7pm reservation. We'll be back, but without encouragement it's going to be a long time. Very disappointed. And I'll withhold my recommendations until I'm sure they are in a good place again, because last night ruined it for me.
We have going to this establishment for many years unfortunately this is the third time and last time we will be going! The recent menu changes and cold food and the salt that is being used is beyond daily limits!!!! It’s unfortunate that it has to come to this because obviously the owner didn’t care that he is causing so many lips cracking and needing to get hooked up to a fire hose to quench the salt 🧂!! The soup was just plain broth with salt and flavoring!! Maybe they ran out of onions! Well I hope that was the case!
I was refraining from writing this review but after two recent poor experiences I feel as if it is warranted. The recent menu changes were a poor idea. They removed sides from dinners and made the meals more expensive. We ordered two, chicken penne ala vodka meals and two salads (additional for the sides and for the chicken) and our total came out to $75! The meal wasn’t even flavorful and the salads were skimpy. When we went in to eat a month ago, the young hostess was rude when I asked if we could wait to sit at a booth because we were waiting for friends. She said it would be a long wait so instead we were sat in the back corner of the restaurant where it was so quiet that we didn’t even feel comfortable having a conversation. I asked if we could be moved to a booth near the bar, even if it meant waiting an hour and she was extremely rude with us. Her shortness of words, grabbing of the menus, and actions spoke volumes. Between these two events, I am having a hard time supporting a business that is so close to home.
I'm not sure what's happened but our recent experience wasn't the best. The menu has changed and although prices went up the dinners no longer include a salad/soup and roll. The banana cream pie was awful and we threw it away (used to be good ) . The banana was served on the side in the dirty old peel to go ?? What the heck. Probably won't be our go to any longer.
We used to LOVE this place. We haven't been in quite a while. We ordered for pick up last night and no one had anything positive to say. I see they are cutting corners and no longer concerned with qu…
Walked in with my wife and my mother to have a nice lunch. Parking lot had MAYBE five cars in it. waited to be seated by the hostess who was VERY condescending and rude.Turned around and walked rig…
I came into this restaurant blind sighted and I was not impressed to say the least. I got the New York strip steak, a caesar salad, and a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was absolutely horrible,…
This was the worst dining experience I have from the food to the service from the bartender ever had and would never ever go back.

Posting this for my parents because they don’t have a google account, but wanted to make others aware of the experience they had tonight on 1/18. Wow has this place gone down down hill. Haven't been here in 20 years and will not be back. Waitress was great but probably a little too honest. My mom had scallops that were not cooked completely , actually cold in the center ( almost 40.00 cost ) , my dad don't usually agree with her but he said send them back immediately after he tasted them . The waitress came back and said " well the cook says we haven't had any complaints tonite !!!! Ok they were cooked trust me ... when she brought the scallops back the plate was extremely hot , what an insult they threw them in microwave and over cooked them ... they left the whole plate of scallops on the table and left. And yes they paid for them . This place isn't cheap for being in Amsterdam NY it's kinda of pricey actually. Definitely don’t recommend this place. You’re better off going anywhere else.
this is the second time in 6 months that I've eaten there and gotten food poisoning. I've eaten there for years and never had an issue until recently. will not be back.
Their BLT is the best I've had anywhere, including the one I make at home when local tomatoes are in season. And, my wife loves the filet sliders. Can't wait to go back. (But, see update below.) POST PANDEMIC UPDATE: It took us four years, but we finally made it back to a restaurant we initially gave five stars. Unfortunately, it's questionable, based on today's experience, whether it now even deserves a single star. The hostess, ambience, and service are still a plus, but there must have been a change in chef. We ordered our two favorite meals. The BLT is no longer on the menu but the waitress said their current turkey BLT could be made without the turkey. However, instead of coming on nicely toasted bread, the BLT came on a mushy wet roll. The roll was gummy and unappealing. Also, in contrast to their original effort, the bacon was not crisp. The filet sliders came with nearly raw meat and lots of sinew and fat. My wife couldn't eat it. Although we did not request it, the restaurant kindly did not charge us for the sliders. However, that didn't change the fact that we took a 10-mile detour off the NYS Thruway at the Amsterdam exit to visit a restaurant we loved in the past, only to have a very disappointing experience.
This place was recommended to us by a local and what an absolute disappointment it was. The "backroom" was loaded with flies and the food was severely undercooked. The burger I ordered was supposed to be medium well - The outside was perfect the middle not so much. The tomatoes were sliced 3x as thick as they should have been and were not ripe & the fries should have been left in the cooker for prob another 90seconds to 2 mins. Definitely will not be going back.
We’ve came here for years, but the last few visits have been awful. Today I got a chicken Caesar wrap, for a $21 wrap I’m expecting it to be pretty good. There’s maybe a tablespoon of dressing on the entire thing, and it’s just thinly spread onto the tortilla. The lettuce, croutons and chicken are completely dry. I’d expect a little more effort for these prices. I could’ve made a better wrap at home. Our waitress also never came back for a quality check and wasn’t particularly pleasant. Unfortunately as long time customers, we won’t be back.
3 out of 4 people in my party had the prime rib with a baked potato, although the flavor of the prime rib was outstanding it would have been magnificent if it was not stone cold. The potato was also cold. Our waiter was disengaged from the task at hand, let's just say a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. This was an extremely disappointing experience.
I went for a birthday dinner on Thursday 10/23. I ordered the southwest chicken wrap with crispy chicken, and my friend ordered a chicken salad. My wrap came out with grilled chicken instead, and I waited for my waiter to come back over to tell him of the mistake. He apologized and took it back to get fixed. We waited over 20 minutes for them to come back with the correct wrap, and the waiter's excuse was "it's the busy dinner rush." I explained mine should have been taken care of before making other's meals. He again apologized. At that point my friend's chicken was cold because she did not want to eat without me having my meal. My wrap was probably the worst wrap I have ever eaten and was definitely not a "southwest" wrap (they want you to dip it in the ranch); not sure what has happened to Raindancer but it has gone down hill. The chicken tenders were rubbery and not crispy, and the fries were undercooked and tasteless. I ended up eating only half the wrap because it was gross. They did end up not charging me for my wrap (which I appreciated), but regardless of the food taking way too long, the meal was horrible. I will not be going back just because of the food alone.
