This was a great place to come grab some tasty meats. We got the US Kobe American slice beef don - 5 oz and beef tongue. Highly recommend to add an egg for an extra charge. The rice also has a sauce on the bottom making it very flavorful overall even without the meat. This place is a little hidden, exit through Nordstrom’s and turn right vs find Din Ta Fung and go around the corner. It’s low bar seating so I would come with a smaller group. The food comes out fast and service is good but definitely meant as an eat and then go place. It is a little pricey but you’re paying for the meat quality. I would definitely come back!
The food is rich, comforting, and clearly made with care the kind of spot you go to when you want something hearty and satisfying, not just “mall food.” I had the pleasure of eating the Potato Salad w/Bacon, Omurice Curry w/Steak Cut, and got to try the Omurice Hamburg Steak w/Demi-glace. Overall each dish was flavorful and the meat was cooked to perfection. Curry sauce is heavy with pepper so it matches with the steak cut. As for the demi-glace is mellow and compliments the tomato rice.
Still in their soft opening phase, this Japanese eatery is known for their BEEF. Everything on their menu is about the beef, and it really shows in the dishes. I got the hamburg curry (they gave me an egg on top because of a special promo for the soft opening) and an Angus steak rice. Even the rice was delicious, each grain was soft and fluffy, finely separated. The curry sauce complimented the patty well. So much flavor and so juicy. Price was a little high but for this quality, it's a good meal to have every now and then!
A unique dining experience that specializes in different types of beef. Their sliced beef don is cooked at very low temperatures and served at room temperature on a bed of rice. The meat has an interesting texture that is soft and a bit chewy. They also have more classic steak options that you can specify the doneness and also served on rice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and explained the different menu options which is very helpful if you are trying it for the first time. The seating is quite limited and bar style only. Since it is high quality beef the meals are on the pricier side, but served in a very casual environment.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Din tai fung is the reason I come to this mall but it was finally time. I got the pork cutlet curry. It was incredible. The whole experience was great. The like the vibe of getting to sit in a counter style restaurant. Service was great and the food. The food was sooooo good.
We went here from a recommendation from my brother. The line was pretty short when we went. They have limited seating so larger groups would be a little harder and we were seated at the counter. I got the beef and my wife got the tongue. Overall the food was tasty. I really liked the sauce with the beef bowl. I got the smaller portion for the beef and it was enough for me. They cooked the tongue well and it was tender. We both added the egg and it was worth it. Overall pretty good spot and I would go again when I’m in the SGV.
I’ve been to the Torrance location several times and can say that this location is just as consistent. For first timers, I highly recommend trying their signature dish: Kobe Sliced Roast Beef Don topped with a raw egg. The meat is so tender and pairs well with the soy and white sauce. The rice soaks up all the delicious beef jus. Other go-to items are their omu-rice curry dishes and their grilled beef tongue bowls. Their curry has the perfect amount of spice for me (which is not too spicy). I love this place because it’s comfort food for me. A regular size bowl (usually 5 oz of meat) is very filling.
Excellent gyudon place (rice covered with sliced beef, usu. with fried onion). Authentic Japanese flavor. We got sat very quickly (there are no tables, just a long counter to eat in front of the kitchen and get out as soon as you're done. I tried the Angus Cut Steak Don (medium rare) and my friend tried the US Kobe Kalbi Yakiniku-BBQ Don (she asked for it well done). Both were incredible. Good and fast service. 10/10.
authentic japanese steak house, i forgot what the name of the set that i got but it taste amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection. the place is kinda small, everyone have to seat at a bar. if you looking for some authentic japanese steak with japanese ambiance, definitely have to try this place. very recommended
Good meal. Ordered their #1 seller the Sliced Beef Don. The staff was friendly and quickly explained the beef would come at room temperature and described other options on the menu. Quick and clean service with counter top style seating. I went during the lull between lunch and dinner and was quickly seated and served. For an extra 2.50 I added the raw egg on top.

The best Don buri in America and it isn’t close. Get the American sliced beef Don and you will not regret it. A top meal overall
This was a really good spot if it's just 2 or 3 people party. Only 4 stars because I can't give it a 3 if it isn't perfect and you can't bring a big party. The food was excellent. I got the omi rice and hamburg patty. It's is a blend of pork and beef. Juicy and very flavorful. Also got the flank steak rice and small salad. It was also very tender and tasted good. The food was not complicated but all around cooked well and tasted great. I advise getting the demi glaze and side of the Cajun spicy sauce. Delicious if you like spicier food or feel like it. Service was real good and will be back. Can be a long wait at peak hours but worth it.
Got excited to eat it after my Japan trip! Got there around 3:00 so there were seats available. Sat down and a complimentary miso soup arrived for each person. Its what you'd expect. Angus cut steak don - I asked for medium rare. Well seasoned and enough sauce on rice! I ate the whole bowl. Highly recommend this dish! Lots of rice! Us Kobe American slice beef don - 5 oz - delicious! You can add an egg for an extra charge. I'd get it with the raw yolk. After mixing it, it's creamy and delicious with every bite! Their bowl comes with their white sauce as well. Loved this dish. 5 oz may not be enough. So getting a 10 oz is recommended. I got both before and I can still eat the 10 oz bowl. Rice does seem to be a little less for the 10 oz meat. Baked Hamburg steak - the sauce porfion was way more than enough. Can put it onto your rice if you want to as well! It was juicy! Not dry at all. Delicious! Id come more often if the price was lowered. The price is considered quite high in my opinion. That's the only thing that shocked me. Besides that. I'd say to come try it at least once!
Located next to Uncle Tetsu, It was the first day of their soft opening so it was a bit chaotic especially the seating is very limited. But I was happy with my medium rare Kobe sliced beef don. very tender and tasty.

I like the beef and will try to go again for different options. Food is overall more pricey but it’s worth a try.

Per person, one dish minimum order. Seating is only at the bar --VERY limited seating. Is the food good? Yeah! But I felt even though staff was professional, there was a rough-around-the-edges sort of feel. I'd order to go next time, and find more comfortable seating. Expensive, but for the quality, you get what you pay for admittedly.
Counter seating. No A/C. Meat quality isn’t as good as their Torrance location. Rice was a bit hard. Gave this place 2 chances, no more😂 Beef tongue bowl- served lukewarm, like the meat has been sitting all day. Some pieces were chewy. Signature bowl- not as good as the Torrance location. Out-of-door damage: $75 for 2 bowls. Tip was set automatically at 20%. I changed to 18% 😹 save 10 bowls and I can fly to Japan 🇯🇵
I ordered their wagyu rice and omelet burg meat curry. They are ok. The taste is not very strong

We had our first Red Rock experience in Japan (thanks Jimin and Jungkook of BTS for the indirect recommendation!) and were blown away. When we saw there was a Red Rock opening in our own backyard, we knew we had to come and see if our prayers were answered. They were still in their soft opening during November 2024 with a limited menu. We ordered the tried and true: a large sliced beef don ($29.99) and a large cut steak don ($31.99). We were disappointed to find that the portion here was the smallest out of the two other Red Rocks we've dined at (in Tokyo and Torrance), despite us ordering the large size (can't imagine how the regular size bowl is!) and that the sliced beef don had more sauce than we liked. Not quite what we were hoping for, so we might give them some time before coming back. Since they were in their soft opening phase, service was a bit disorganized (forgot to give us menus when seating us, forgot to take our orders when we were ready, etc.), though still friendly. They charged for credit card use, so we paid in cash. Space isn't very large, so not great for large groups. They have a couple of two-top tables and bar seating. If dining here, parking by Nordstrom or in the promenade structure will cut down on walking time.
It’s still decent, but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. They used to source meat from exclusively raised cows but now just default to the typical mid/upper quality meat suppliers (e.g., SNF). I’m a frequent customer, but the magic of the original Torrance location is not the same in Arcadia.
The food is good but service is really bad. I asked if I could change the soup that comes with the meal and have a salad instead, and was told no even though they're the same price. Not sure why. Will come back because I really like the food but the service could definitely improve.

This place only has counter seating, which is fine, but the overall experience didn’t justify the higher price tag compared to their Torrance location. They claimed to use better meats here, but the taste didn’t stand out — in fact, the beef bowl I had (pictured, $39.99) had some really tough and chewy sinew that was hard to bite through. When I mentioned the issue to the staff, I was told it's probably because I didn’t order one of the more expensive dishes. Seriously? $39.99 for this — is that supposed to be cheap? On the positive side, the staff was fairly patient when taking the order, but that doesn’t make up for the disappointing food quality and the dismissive attitude when concerns were raised.

the chinese gentleman working for them is very rude and confrontational. they add on a tip automatically and he confronted us about us taking the high tip off. very unprofessional. i think they should simply print out a receipt as to not run into issues like this. we were very uncomfortable with the way he rudely confronted us about the tip and don't want to come back to this location. no hate but this is a japanese company and i know japanese people aren't confrontational like this nor conduct business like that. he needs to be trained properly as to not scare off patrons from returning. food is so good but now i don't want to come back because he's the only waiter and is incredibly rude for what he did.
