Kevin, Katie, Kat, and Marissa are my favorite bartenders I have ever experienced! I personally, always help bringing empty glasses to the the bar to help them in thier busiest or closing hours out of appreciation of their affeicency

A comfy dive bar with warm, smiling service from knowledgeable staff Very reasonable prices and great specials. Definitely worth a visit.

Great crowd, pleasant environment. They have pool and darts. Poker tournament at the end of each month. Can't beat their prices on drinks!

Best bar I've ever been to. Drinks come at a reasonable price and they've got free snacks. They've also got pool and a smoking section out back. Best times I've ever had at a bar were had here.

Tanstaafl is great. Dingy in all the right ways, the bartenders are wonderful, and the patrons are friendly. But this is a TRUE dive bar, make no mistake.

Great place to meet locals. Just be outgoing if you haven't been there before, and the regulars are welcoming. Bar staff is fast and knowledgeable any night you go.

Chill, laid back, old school dive. Definitely not a loud, club type bar. More relaxed, and Tyler the bartender is awesome!

Surprisingly, I really loved it. This is a place that doesn't look great, but the experience is going to be excellent. The staff was awesome, and the vibe was very laid back. I will be going back.

Laid back pub that has been thre since the late 70s awesome service and very affordable beer and drinks. Plus many activities each night of the week with great regulars.

I love this place. Always have since I was introduced to Tanstaafl back in the early 90's. Still the same old r. Laid back, easy going & way chill. The night I was last there was Thanksgiving Eve. The place was packed because 7th Annual The Last Waltz Project was there doing music from "The Band's" movie "The Last Waltz" featuring an All-star lineup of local musicians. The music was killer, crowd was into it and the barstaff friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back. ✌

This bar has the right amount of bar seating, the right amount of table to standing area ratio, ample corners for darts, and a pool table area right next to the restroom so you can hear you buddy scratch on his shot and be close enough to catch him manipulating the pool balls with his grubby cheating hands. There’s even an outdoor area to smoke cigs reminiscent of the breeze-way outside your high school cafeteria where the burnouts ate lunch. The bartender might moonlight at a rough and tumble biker bar across town, but Tanstaafl is about as menacing as the prospect of Christmas dinner after skipping breakfast, lunch, and drinking a few glasses of stiff Christmas punch. Speaking of Christmas, after the sun set, the bar played Home Alone 1 on a projector in the corner of the bar, the projector was very high quality.

Awesome little dive bar in Arlington. Theyve got a couple pool tables, an old school jukebox, great drink prices and on Sunday night they have movie night. 12/10 will drink here the next time I'm in Arlington even if Luke doesn't come out to visit

They also plan outside activities like boat parties, park activities and themed activities for their patrons and staff. Its not just a bar its a place to make friends and keep them.

Awww man what a gem! This place is great. It has a 4:30 PM hanging with your buddies after school in the basement smoking doobies before your parents get home vibe going. Prices are great and the people who work there are aces. Check this place out, you'll be glad you did.

Coming from someone on the other side of the political spectrum it is very refreshing to talk about things without hate all over a good drink and amazing bartenders that go above and beyond.

They have fun little things to do weekly like 'bad movie night's or trivia, and alot of other cool events throughout the year. It's one of my favorite spots to go to of all time.

The secret best bar in all of DFW. The bartenders really care about people and because of that everyone there cares about each other. Its the most accepting and kind place you can go. If you go there for your first time its guaranteed you will have dozens of friends by the time you leave.

I haven't been in Tanstaafl in about 35 years, but felt drawn to watch the drunk spelling bee this evening. It was so much fun! Luckily for me, my drink of choice turned out to be on sale, too. Overall, prices were very reasonable, the patrons were interesting, & the bee was entertaining. The only caveat for me would be that, even though there is no smoking allowed inside, the room still reeks of smoke.

I have been going to The T for forty years and until now they have always had good bartenders. I stopped in for a brew last Saturday afternoon and witnessed a person that would lose a race with a glacier. It wasn't busy and he saw me come in but ignored me. After about three minutes he mumbled something in my direction which i took to mean he would serve me eventually. Those were the only words he spoke the whole time I was there. Then after he finally finished the one drink he was making he went and started washing glasses. First time I have ever walked out of The T in disgust. Get it together!!!!

The male bartender was so full of arrogance. I would not recommend this dive bar. Plenty of bars around this one, that you don't have to experience this guy that is definitely feeling and acting way better than his patrons.

We are from out of town. When we went here, the people in the bar, including the employees, were very rude. We were treated very badly and the customers considered us not "regulars". If you are looking for a place to go and have drinks and have fun, this is not the place.

Not even close to my kind of dive bar. And I love dive bars. Sunshine, Caves, Pearls. Just not Taans. 2 thumbs down. Literally nothing about it did anything for me. Im sure the younger crowd enjoys it but I certainly did not.
