Lovely experience in this Latin bar/restaurant. Had the Arepa which was delicious. Frozen Pina Colada was nice also. Place was quiet due to time of day but the decor was authentic and made for a relaxing aesthetic. Most notably the staff were very nice and helpful. I will be back for sure.

This place handles flavors with expert precision. Every dish gets appropriate attention. Acento Latin Kitchen & Bar provides both accessibility and quality service. The people working here combined helpfulness with approachability. I plan to return without extended delay.

I really was shocked to see that this place was empty. I came with a group of 6 and we enjoyed every bit of it. We love the musical vibes of this place. In addition, we had so many leftovers because everything is just huge portions and we left with happy full belly's. We had good drinks as well. Such a nice friendly atmosphere and kind service. Underrated!!!! Only pictures I was able to take was one of the huge appetizers and the huge flan they gave me for desserts.

Really great variety of South American foods like arepas, Jalea, and bandejas. Would definitely come again. They have outdoor seating too.

Stopped in for fried snapper. It was perfection. The paella and the pulpo was also 10/10. The Bourbon passion my new favorite drink.

Ahhhh this place is sooo good!!!! Today must’ve been my 6-7th time being here. We live in LI now but still come back, and today it was in route back from the poconos heading to our home. We were craving a good Spanish meal; Acento is Colombian. It’s mine and my partner’s favorite Latin place in Astoria, and being Latin ourselves and considering there’s not many places in Astoria area that are of our cuisine (he’s Ecuadorian and I’m PR), this speaks volumes! Haha. I tried to remind myself to capture photos, but we were so hungry and eager to eat, that I ended up taking photos midway through eating! lol. Our favorite treat is the Arepa Cachapa, which is sort of like a sweet corn patty with cheese inside, omg amazing! We had it as our appetizer. Their white rice is so perfect - it’s grainy while still being soft and fluffy, just like I like it. The red beans one of the best fusion of flavors I’ve had and let me tell you that we have rice and beans about 2-3 times per week (like I said we’re Latin and it’s a staple in our household and culture overall). I had the Entraña steak today with yuca fries - steak was so juicy like I like it and yuca fries were perfectly crispy. The chimichurri sauce that comes with it, yummm! Partner had the traditional Bandeja Paisa, which he tends to get at every Colombian spot we go to and he enjoyed every part of the meal (it’s a combo meal, a must try). We all tried each other’s food. My kids shared with us and they even loved it (that says a lot for 4-yr olds who can sometimes can be picky with food! lol), and we also had food left over to bring back home. Great portion sizes, very generous. Atmosphere is so chill, lovely with a mix of different music playing in the background. My kids and I were all grooving to the music haha. We didn’t order any drinks today, but from what we remember, they’re also good and tasty! A must visit if you’re in the area and looking for a guaranteed delicious meal, no underwhelm, and want a bite of our cultural foods that always hit the tummy right!

Opened in 2019 and inspired by the owners’ grandmothers, this establishment located on Ditmars Blvd in Astoria is dedicated to serving its customers homestyle cooking. Acento Latin Kitchen and Bar caters to cuisine from a variety of Latin cultures, including Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Ecuador, and Mexico, but with a very strong Colombian cuisine. My cousin and I came for dinner tonight on a weeknight as first timers. Upon arrival, the interior was nicely decorated with a fusion of Latin souvenirs and family photos, while Spanish music was playing in the background. We were greeted by the staff. For starters, we decided to split the chicken empanadas. For our main entree, we have decided on Ropa Vieja (Cuban-style shredded beef served with yellow rice, sweet plantains, and black beans) and Mini Bandeja Paisa (a mini-traditional country platter with beef, rice, beans, pork skin, sweet plantains, eggs, corn cake, and avocado). The food was totally delicious and authentic, and the taste was right on point! The pricing was comparable to the area. We had an excellent time, and we can recommend this place.

Omg this place was absolutely delicious. The Margarita was on point, not watered down but perfect. The service and food where beyond delicious. It was being on the a Caribbean island with all the traditional food and drink. They earned their 5 and I cant wait to ear here again. The couple behind us said they were hooked from the first day they ate there and they now cone every Tuesday and are still satisfied.

Delicious food with very generous portions. That quesadilla was bursting with cheese, meat, and flavor. We did have to wait quite a bit for them to refill our waters, but otherwise a great place for a quick bite. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area, it's great for a grab and go meal.

My husband and I went here for lunch. We enjoyed the ambiance and the experience of dining in here. The food was very good! The server was very attentive. The food I got was a big portion for a small person like me but I got to take-out my lunch. Overall, it was a great lunch!

Oh, this is a cute little spot to stop and get some delicious Spanish food. The food was good. The service was just ok. The fish tacos were delicious, the seafood rice could’ve been better, the bandeja was good and the drinks were good.

The portion of food they give is definitely worth what we spent. Drinks were good and services was okay. Our empanadas were a little cold on the inside but they were very delicious.

Service was kind, the interior was nicely decorated and clean. Food was okay- I prefer vinegar base ceviche with light sauce and the fries were somewhat cold, didn't taste like fresh batch. BBQ wings were good though.

On a recent visit to this restaurant with my wife, I ordered the Mofongo De Chicharron. After returning back home, I suffered 3 bouts of severe diarrhea with abdominal pain and a severe dehydration! I suspect that the Chicharron was the unsafe food item. Because I am a physician and had patient care with a full schedule the following care I needed to overcome my symptoms ASAP and I immediately administered Immodium AD and drank copious amounts of Gatorade to restore my electrolytes and fluids. I made several attempts to contact the Acento Latin Kitchen & Bar and the manager was never there at the times when the staff said that he would be there. I was told that the manager was at the restaurant ONLY twice a week! What kind of business is this? Other times I called the restaurant and either no one picked up or the phone was answered by an answering machine during business hours. Where is the professionalism?? I honestly don't know how this restaurant has high ratings. There must be a TON of fake reviews here. The food honestly wasn't that good. Acento Latin Kitchen & Bar really needs to be INVESTIGATED BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! No dining patron should have to go through what I went through. UNSAFE RESTAURANTS LIKE THIS ONE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

Today I went there for takeout and I ordered a Bandeja Paisa Acento along with other things and when I got home to eat my food my chicharron had hair on it like thick hair. I've ordered here many times and I never had hair on my chicharron pork skin when I called to tell the woman about it she tells me that it comes like that. That is disgusting. I never had a pork skin with hair on it. Thick hair I've been here many times before and I never had a problem and I never had hair on my pork skin. I was there at 1:34 p.m. server was Isidora you need to talk to your cook because if he's serving pork skin with hair on it. It's disgusting today's date 12/7/2024 trying to call and speak to a manager but now they're not picking up the phone at 5:44 p.m.
