Sooo excited that WaWa's here! We have been meaning to come here for so long and finally was able to do so and was not disappointed!!

Bartender justin was amazing! Very clean facility. Well organized. Fast and friendly service. Families welcome. Definitely a place I will visit often might even consider weekly. Over all a great experience in a nice place to go if you want to have top of the line crawl fish and seafood.

Fun atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! The fried pickles are a must get! We had crawfish, fried shrimp, catfish and fries all of it was awesome and was all for a good price! Keep up the great work guys! We'll definitely be back!

I could not believe the size of how big the crawfish were, here in December. They along with my corn were cooked perfectly. They are my east Texas savior.

Love it here. Love the food. Not everyone that works here. Some of the ladies are snotty and terrible waitresses. A few are the greatest wait staff you'll ever meet. But definitely try their food .

This place is awesome! We just heard of it and had a double-date there on a Friday night. We ate all the food (fried pickles, fried mushrooms, crab balls, fried fish, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, fried oysters). Everything was perfect. Cold beer, delicious food, friendly staff. Five stars for sure, and I've already recommended it to someone else!

We ate here tonight for the first time. It was awesome. Good was fantastic, service was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We will be back.

Can't beat the price! Great taste, know it's cooked right when you can pull the meat out of the legs whole! Oysters were fried correctly and also tasted great.

Food is amazing! The service even better. When you go in there ask for a gorgeous, patient and enthusiastic waitress by the name of Tammy. Not only was she on point to continually follow-up with us but she was so darn friendly and genuinely cared for us as her customers. Not just trying to be an employee. She was helpful, kind and really passionate about her customer service. One last thing; if you’re reading this Tammy. Happy early birthday!! We will definitely come back asking for YOU!

Had the catfish and shrimp platter. Everything was cooked to perfection which is not easy to do with shrimp. It was tender and succulent, and the catfish had just the right amount of salt in the breading. Had to draft beers with dinner and the beer was served at the perfect temperature. I think it was somewhere around 37 38°. My waitress Tammy was very attentive, ran into the kitchen manager Wallace, he was very friendly and professional. Spoke to Mindy as well. No problem recommending this restaurant to anyone!

I had the Combo Basket (Fish and Shrimp)... Hot, fresh, and tasty. The food arrived at the table fast. We ate on the patio, and it was perfect with a little breeze. The only negative was a pesky honeybee after my friend's Dr. Pepper (Don't worry, they have indoor dining). Great place, go check it out!

Great froglegs and great crawfish! Two in our group had snow crab and said it was great too. Bahama mama's were awesome as well. Great little place to go!

Was picking up a 35 bag of crawfish Owner Brian sent two of his people out to car, got our cooler and put in crawfish and ice. They took it back out while we were eating Had great service ant the food was outstanding. A little secret they specialize in seafood, but was one of the best hamburger I have had! Love the place and will be going back often

We got a platter of shrimp,crawfish,sausage, mushrooms,potatos,corn with butter and ranch sauce $40 alot of food for the price had to get a 2go box.

Went in for a business meeting with 2 employees. We had a great time! We all ate most of our food. The 'bloody mary' (it's a different name) is yummy!!! The crawl fish were amazing!

Love this place. Went last Tuesday. Set at the bar had a few beers and order the crawfish poor boy. The service was amazing. Had a few laughs and great conversation with the bartender. The crawfish was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back to visit. Hope I get the same bartender.

Uncle B Parker (the owner) is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. This is a family owned business, they work hard every day to make sure you get quality food and top notch service. Ms. Lea the bartender is super kind and one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met.

Went here for mine and my partner’s 20th anniversary and was not disappointed. Ordered the fried pickles and they were on point. We both got the fish platter with fries and for me I had coleslaw and he had the grilled potato salad. Slaw was a bit dry but I’d say that’s the only negative I can give. Fish and hush puppies were amazing and fresh!! Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Thank you to the staff for being so friendly 🥰

Excellent gumbo. Would definitely get that again. We also tried their chicken harvest salad which is perfect for the hot day we had. My mom and I shared the seafood platter. The fried fish and oysters were exceptional. We are very much looking forward to coming back to try more stuff on their menu.

Crawfish season makes me happy. I have only been in Mabank area for a little over a year and have been looking for a restaurant that has crawfish! Finally, I found this little gem. Great place and good food! My only complaint is I think they are understaffed. Had a 30 min wait for a table of 7 and they forgot about us. Little cramped for 7 in a booth! We made the best of it, just wanted to share!!!

This was our first time to eat here and it was delicious!! We got some Mozzarella Cheese Bites and they were the best that we have ever had. We both got the 4 piece catfish basket and we each got 5 pieces. The catfish, fries and hush puppies were delicious too. The next time we go through Athens we will definitely stop here again. The service was real good too and the restaurant was really neat and very clean.

Interesting inside the building. The food was delivered quickly. Drinks in a large size. I forgot to take a photo of the meal before I started eating so you will see what was left. LOL. I had the Fried seafood platter with oysters, shrimp, fish, fries and slaw. It was all very good tasted like they didn't cook it until we ordered it. We had fried pickles for an appetizer which were excellent. They have a very light batter.

The grilled fish tacos were great! I read a review that said their Margaritas were small, but I ordered a frozen Margarita and it was farily good size and delicious! (I drank some before snapping the photo. Lol)

Wawa's was exceptionally good, there are not many seafood places in the area that offers what Wawa's does. There is a touch of spice but not to much, they will bring you more if you need it. The service was on point and the food was excellent. It's a little pricey but if you want good seafood you pay a little more for it. They even have hamburgers if you have someone along that doesn't care for seafood.

Stand alone restaurant with barely adequate parking. Restaurant and restrooms were in good repair and clean. Menu selections were small but adequate. Wait staff was very friendly but inattentive. Wait times for the food was fairly long. Fish, shrimp and french fries or excellent. Meals are served with plasticware. Price point for the food was right on spot. Highly recommend, just hope you don't get the waitress we had.

The food wasn't as great as I had hoped. But I just had crab legs. Probably not the specialty around there! My family members loved the crawfish and my grandson ate all of his chicken and fries!

They were out of a lot of things. But we had a good time! Best lobster tail I’ve ever eaten! Service was great!

The waitresses are all so sweet. Kind and welcoming. The food was nothing amazing. But was good. I had the shrimp tacos... one fried one grilled. Tasty.

Burger and fries really good. Sausage also very good. Altho there Cajun seasoning (served on the side) is good, I personally like a more traditional boil where seasoning is all mixed up. Also more options on heat would be nice

Food was pretty good and a fairly reasonable price. But nothing really made the food stand out. It was (like most places) just boiled and seasoned with Old Bay or fried. Atmosphere was good with live music but parking was beyond aweful.

Great food. They need to learn how to make a margarita though. I Paid 8 for a water slushy with mabey a little patron. This is after the server talked it up as the best. I didn't have the heart to tell her. Lol

Was a good experience.... they were stingy with the corn and potatoes....2 of each with a 5 pound crawfish special. The fried fish was delicious....crisp and fresh! Didn't try the hot wings someone ordered but they were large in size and she enjoyed them! French fries were good and somehow the coleslaw got overlooked but it looked like it would be good...not fancy...like what you make at home!

Their seafood boil is one of the best I've had. It's simple, flavorful, and not overwhelming. Great food and the outdoor seating is fun and unique to the area. The only reason for a 4 instead of 5 star rating is because of the margarine. If you're going to have (and pay good money for) good crab, put out some real butter.

The food was good. The service was great. I had the frog legs. I love frog legs, these had too much breading and were a little over cooked. The others had catfish. The catfish was delicious. It was perfectly cooked.

I’ve lived on gulf coast for 25 years so “Seafood” in Texas country. Could be hit or miss. But, I have to say this little place has great atmosphere. Wonderful helpful waitstaff, and the fried catfish(extra crispy), is some of the best fried catfish I’ve tasted for this Cajun boy! If your ordering chirrens foods make sure you order first so it will cool off!😉 For real good yo! Enjoy!

Best catfish in the area. Crab legs are ADDICTIVE! The food is great, the staff is always friendly. I would give it 5 stars, but when it's even just a little busy, the line moves really slowly. I've waited over an hour from getting in line to being handed my food before. But the food is so good that it's actually worth it.

Food is good not great, atmosphere is hit or miss, I sit at the bar when I go and the older bartender lady is very slow and cannot multitask, you will wait on your beer awhile if even just somewhat busy. Thing is they have no other competition in Athens. The owner Brian is a great guy tho.

Nothing was memorable or delicious. The hush puppies were dry and left in a little too long. The coleslaw had a funny taste, I think it’s on the verge of turning. And the “fried” mushrooms were mushy lacking crunch. Grilled fish was good.

Good classic seafood. Grilled fish tacos good. Only criticism is plate needs a slice of lime and be nice to have a couple of thin sliced jalapenos on each taco. Update. Came back for lunch. Busy. Lots of servers. Good service on that side. But kitchen a little slow on delivery and putting out for customers. The Surf & Turf burger was really good. I added grilled jalapenos. The crawfish tacos....ehhhh. needed something more. Limes on side and a roulade sauce. Dry. Kids fish basket was nice. French fries excellent!

Update: on 4/24/24, they advertised for $5.99/pound on their crawfish. I placed a to go order. I was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later and my order was still not ready because they were busy. So I waited an additional 15 minutes at which time they had my order ready. I was in a hurry and didn’t realize until I got home that they charged me not the advertised price of $5.99/pound, but $7.49/pound. I have called, but got no answer. I messaged them with a picture of my receipt and left a comment on the post that they advertised the $5.99/pound, and again I’ve received nothing. As much as I’ve loved this place and been coming here for so long, I think it’s time I found another place to get my crawfish. Because it seems they’re comfortable doing a bait and switch on their prices rather than just being honest. Sad. Been going here to get my crawfish for a couple of years now. I was born and raised in Louisiana, but now living here have wanted decent crawfish. And WaWa's has fulfilled that! The owners are always there, greeting everyone, and very friendly. If you live anywhere around the Athens area, WaWa's is where you want to go! I also love their shrimp, corn, and potatoes. 👍

I would highly recommend the Fish and Shrimp. Will definitely be back for that. However, Just order fried mushrooms and couldn’t eat them. I have have no clue what they did to them. I can only describe them as maybe boiled/then maybe slightly breaded (no clue) and fried. Literally inedible. Will not order anything other than the fish and shrimp. Again, they are excellent.

It's pretty decent. I'm not a fan of seafood, but as far as that goes, it's pretty fair, but if you love Seafood, this might be the best place in Athens to get some. The servers are fairly friendly.

Mozarella appetizer was very good. Fish was good. Chicken strips were dry & chewy. French fries were excellent. Service was amazing. They traded the strips for a burger without question. Ate the burger later. Tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave. Yuck. Awesome service!

The waitresses were great. There were 7 of us in our party. They did a good job keeping our needs met. The food however was a disappointment. All of us had salad with our meal which wasn't bad but there were only 2 dressing choices. 3 of us had steak & lobster...the steaks were cooked correctly but the lobsters were all way overcooked. Dry & like rubber. Take my advice... DON'T GET THE LOBSTER.

Im not a huge seafood fan, so my rating probably wouldn't be high regardless. Sorry, WaWa's. I ordered their burger. I gave it a low rating because the bun was soaking wet. That grossed me out right off the bat. It probably would have been delicious with a dry bun. The french fries, however, were amazing!!! So crunchy!!! Doubt I'll go back. Except maybe to try their fried cod.

Loved the mushrooms appetizer. The shrimp and fries was just okay.The cole slaw was missing flavor. And the hushpuppies looked and tasted like frozen. 4 people $113.00.

Went to dinner for mothers day got there early because I knew thy would be busy. Out of everything fried so not a great experience. Ordered mozzarella bites but ran out . Ordered house salad instead the waitress forgot about it so came out after we got our food asked for extra ranch only got a small cup. crab legs where good, Need a bit more seasoning. Squeeze butter no melted butter. Out of crackers to open the crab legs. the shrimp were huge alsolight seasoning. My husband got fried fish tacos he sd they were good seasoning was great. Slaw was a weird combination the French fries were y seasoned. My boys both got a burger

The food is great is you don't mind everything else. The service was horrible. Had to ask for condiments, twice. Ask for a refill. And each time it took forever. However the fish and the burger were spot on! They just need to train their wait staff better.

The Fried shrimp, oysters, mushrooms and fish were WAY too salty. We were there a few months ago and the food was too salty then as well. Crawfish was just ok. Not enough seasoning. We’ve been there twice but we won’t be back because of the salt levels. So much salt we couldn’t eat the mushrooms. I took the crust off the shrimp and it was still super salty.

Had the fish shrimp combo ,the 2 pieces of fish were very small and the shrimp was over cooked and way over priced for such small portions. The waitress was slow and it wasnt busy at all, she only came by once . The Bloody Mary was good . Have eaten there in the past and it was good but this trip probably will be my last

We looked for good crawfish and heard these were great. They were way overcooked so we told the waitress and she brought more and they were as bad as the first order. We were passing through but if you are going for crawfish I would not recommend. I had fish, shrimp and oysters and the oysters and fish tasted good but shrimp was overcooked.

I will never go back. The service was bad. I had no napkin. I finally seen all tables but ours had some. I can't eat hot food I love crab burned my mouth. Tried to charge me for them. The young girl with the blonde hair and black shirt. She acted like she was in a daze. I was really disappointed

Drove there today from Canton for last of the season crawfish & got 5 lbs to go. Should have saved my gas & money. Got 5 lbs of tiny bait size & over cooked crawfish. First time I've ever thrown out crawfish. Not going back! Do yourself a favor & go to Wade's place In Chandler, well worth the drive.

Way overpriced for what you get. Crab legs were bland and frozen. Stuck to shell and had zero flavor. We ordered crawfish..we thought. Fried crawfish tails came out. Not much there. We didn’t even finish them. They weren’t good. Cost us $80 for what we got and it wasn’t worth it. Will never come back to this place. Don’t recommend

I've been here 3 times in the last 2 months. Today was the worst. I had to fight flies off the food almost the whole time. At least 5 flies landing on the crabs, shrimp, and veggies. Our straws and us. The waitress said she didn't know what to do and offered no assistance. And they were not busy at all. Finally got her to seat us at a different table me. But it seemed like a huge bother to her. She didn't even help us relocate. $80 is a lot to spend for bad service and fighting flies.

I went there on Sunday with my family and my friends. It was an awful restaurant to eat seafood. The place was not clean at all. The restroom was dirty. And the worst part was the food itself. We all ordered basket shrimp. It was super salty which seemed that we were eating salt rather than the shrimp. We really had a bad experience there and I would not recommend it to anyone.

This was our 3rd try of WaWa's the food is nice, However the first two times we were there it was very noisy to the point had a headache when we left. This time something happened we have never had before we were charged an up charge for using our credit card. I understand this in some situations but I have never had it done on dinner for two. Sadly we will not be going back.

Though the flavor of the crawfish was good, I had a rough time opening them. It had been the first crawfish I ate so that's on me. The waitress wasn't helpful at all and never checked on me. She didn't offer any sides to me. I went away still hungry. The menu was not informative on what they served. It was an overall disappointing experience

I went for my son's birthday on a Monday afternoon and there were no people. We were seated on the right side ,as soon as we got our food the flies flocked towards our food. The crawfish was tasteless and bland, super disappointed.

I will never visit this place again. I paid $35 bucks for just one person to eat a catfish and fries plate, with tea and a small margarita. When I say small, I mean like, "Excuse me, is this a joke?". The food was not bad but nothing to say good things about. Honestly, if my margarita had been tasty and I could of tasted some alcohol over the salt that was "in" the bottom of my drink, I may have given a better review. With the prices and the absolute worst drink ever, I will not go back.

I wish I could have rated the food, but unfortunately I didn’t even get that chance. After a 20 minute wait to be seated, we were totally ignored by who we assumed was our waitress. She waited on the table in front of us and the large top in the middle, but never even took our drink order. I’m not sure where the confusion was, but after sitting another 15 minutes without anyone helping us we finally gave up and left. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We never had this issue before... service sucked, waitress never asked if we needed anything else.. had to get my own to go box never brought our ticket never asked id husband needed a drink refill her loss tho on a good tip .. food was not as good as usual very disappointing wont be back more likely

Just went in to wawas and got seated right away but they left us there with out even asking for our drink order we sat and waited for 10 minutes and no one came to see us even though they kept looking straight at us mind you we where the only ones in that section of the restaurant.

The presentation of the food was ridiculous. It looked like they took the crab legs out of box and warmed up brought out season for you to do your self then had to ask for melted butter then didn’t give you wet cloth to clean hands. The fish was like a brick. In 17 years of my husband and me eating I have never seen him to finish his food. The only good thing about this place is the tea. I will not go back and will not recommend this place and way over priced.

Staff was nice, professional, what you would expect. However I spent $60+ on just me and my girlfriend, and the food was way below the standard. Way too salty, bland, and just generally not good. Taco Bell taste so much better. This was my first time trying the place, never will be back.

2nd visit within 2 years both visits out of crab legs. Fried shrimp platter very bland. Crawdads out of 2lbs over half were mushy. 2 out of the 3 of us were in the bathroom before even leaving the establishment. Very disappointed for a $90 lunch! Waitress wasn't the friendliest at the end of meal waited for awhile for our ticket, she finally came to the table and I asked for our ticket. She proceeds to look at me and says if you just get up and go over there I'll give you your ticket and check you out. Pretty sure this was our last trip here!

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this one was earned. Chelsea, our waitress, was glued to her phone throughout the duration of our meal. Getting her attention required determination, patience, and a pocket filled with luck. So it was really no surprise when the food finally arrived and was ice cold. I can only assume the kitchen fell second to her phone as well. Slow Thursday lunchtime. Disappointed.

Used to be an awesome restaurant BUT the last 2 times we ate here the service was terrible and the crawfish was overcooked. The server was rude and only checked on us once the whole time. We had to ask for the potatoes and corn that is supposed to come with our 3 pounds of craw dads (which was also overcooked). Will not be returning to our long time family favorite. So sad

Took hubby for his birthday today. First was sat at a wobbly booth. When I asked to be moved, we were sat in a booth that had a huge whole in the cushion. Just bad management when you can't fix even the little things. I ordered a pound of crawfish, and he had the platter with oysters and fish. He eats anything...so when he said the only good thing was that the food was cooked it was a surprise. I wound up with many, many itty bitty crawfish claws and more than 12 heads with NO tails in my order. What do you eat crawfish for? The tails... No melted butter and no extra spices. Will never go back.
