Reminds me of old school dives in Dallas I grew in as a Korean. It's not Korean food, however, great. The environment and owners just have me feel some nostalgia 🥰 Great and tasty overall 👍🏻
My experience at bamboo bistro.Has always been very Comfortable and a very Happy environment to be in. The food is very good and it never changes.I can go to any bamboo bistro, and it's gonna taste the same quality food service.Thank you
Early dinner with my mom and sister 🤍 Thai tea was a 10/10, and the sesame chicken with fried rice was sooo good—would definitely get it again. Great service as well.
I got delivery for dinner a few months back, ordering a Mongolian beef dish. The taste was good and had a good amount of sauce on it. What I did not expect (to my pleasant surprise) was a call a few months later-FedEx delivered my new shelves to them apparently (no idea why the mixup). They tried to call FedEx but got put on a phone tree, so they looked up my address and found it in the system. This shows: 1) Texas ‘howdy’ friendliness 2) The world wants us to laugh Would recommend for both the food and being good neighbors.
I came across Bamboo Bistro Westgate and it’s one of those casual Asian spots that hits the sweet spot when you want comfort food done well. Their Shrimp Pad Thai, General Tso’s and Crab Rangoon came out balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. The Thai basil dishes and one of their signature fried rice specials also stood out — fresh, bold flavors without being over the top. The staff were friendly and down to help you choose if you’re overwhelmed by the menu. The space is relaxed and functional — not fancy, but warm enough for a low-stress dinner. It’s the sort of place you return to when you want solid Asian-fusion staples without the fuss.
The lo mien, spicy ramen, pork dumplings, and hot and sour soup was delicious! Loved the people here, they are really welcoming, kind, and patient with their guests. I loved the atmosphere, no over powering music like other places, really relaxing after a long day at work for us. Most definitely will be coming back!
Traditional Chinese fast food. It's tasty and a good location with easy parking and it also has good service but it's very Americanized. It is locally owned but since they have gotten busier over the years it seems like they've added a lot of sugar and salt to all the food. I would make sure to get something that is naturally less sugar and salt. I like general tso's chicken and sesame shrimp but both are just loaded with sugar. The food comes out fast and hot.
The appetizers were yummy (especially the shrimp, it had a fluffy texture to it). The General TSO is my usual safe choice but we had the basil wings as well (very interesting + savory) and Shanghai Beef (a bit tough in my opinion but the sauce was very good). Portions are pretty big, if you are a light eater then I would recommend to not order much or be prepared to take some to go.
We had veggie spring rolls from appetizers. It came with sweet peanut sauce which was delicious. For main dish we got spicy jalapeños with white rice & tofu and also sriracha noodle bowl with tofu. They can make it vegan with eggless noodles and different sauce. But it costs you extra $2 bucks or so to make the dish vegan. Overall great taste. Delicious Asian food. Good portion size.
The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. You can tell that they hustle when it comes to how busy this place can get. The jalapeno rangoons and the hot and sour soup was really good. I order fried rice with a combination of beef and shrimp in a teriyaki sauce. My only issue was the fried rice tasted burned but still edible. This restaurant has real potential to be a great place to eat I think they just need to make some adjustments in a few of their dishes.
I ordered wonton soup, crispy tofu, and kimchi fried rice. Food could have been better; soup was good. The crispy tofu was so bland that it was just tofu with zero seasoning. If you are looking for some flavorful appetizers, you should avoid this. The Kimchi fried rice was okay. The rice and veges didn't blend well; it was more oily. The kimchi is a bad choice for fried rice, kimchi flovor doesnt complement the dish. I saw big round carrots here and there in the dish. Overall, it's not a great dish. Service is good; accidentally, I dropped my purse and left, but the service person secured it and returned it to me when I came back.
The customer service was great when I stopped in to pick up my sons and my food! However; the chicken was dry, no flavor, and furthermore, I ordered Mongolian beef for myself and teriyaki chicken for my toddler and you couldn’t tell them apart! This is worse than any Chinese meal that I’ve had! What a disappointment; because I haven’t ordered Chinese food in ages and I was looking forward to at least decent Chinese food. My son only appreciated the thinly sliced carrots and even he said that the chicken was dry! What a disappointment!
Has been good in the past, but our sesame chicken (x2), orange tofu, and General Tso are identical except for a sprinkle of sesame in one small area. And not good, no seasoning except sugar/syrup. And switched sesame with orange on tofu.
There was hair in three of my dishes and when I called to complain they hung up on me lol do not recommend
For $15 I got a combination fried rice beef dry Chicken dry cold shrimp egg rolls dry I recommend not going back to this place
I ordered drive through. The wait was long, but I can overlook that for good food. First, they tied the knot in the plastic bag so tight i couldn't easily get n to check my order, but I made the mistake of trusting they gave me what I ordered. Wired I got home and ripped open the bag, it was not even close to what I ordered. It was flavorless. I was taken for $21 dollars.
Unfortunately, after trying for a second time we were underwhelmed. The pad Thai definitely does not taste like pad Thai. The beef in the teriyaki beef was so bland and overcooked. It was more like dog food. The sweet-and-sour sauce for the crab Rangoon‘s tastes like cough syrup and is super thick. Yuck
Stopped here for a late night dinner. It just kept getting worse. Hot tea? Flavorless. Soup? I had egg drop, and it was fine I guess. Maybe the only saving grace but believe me it's not worth it. I ordered General Tso chicken with fried rice. Flavorless, cold, everything definitely frozen from a bag. I've bought better tasting kits from the frozen section HEB. The staff was nice and attentive, though.
Without a doubt the worst chinese food there is. Curry-- actually the worst Curry I've ever had. Bad chicken, lame sauce. Thinking about it inspires dread. Crab Rangoons-- burnt, old, idk. Terrible terrible. Rice-- how do you make bad rice?! Lo mein-- literally didn't arrive. Totally missing. So, probably the worst of the lot if even they didn't want us to have it. I've never had a food order that made a whole family mad until this. Bravo! My 4 year old daughter offered a positive: "the vegetables are cooked."
If you start to miss poor quality food on economy class flight, come here. All these for 36, and heavily salted. The server repeat different orders back to me every time, and successfully missed part of my order. What’s more? there’s extra 6$ for late night orders that you won’t see anywhere else. LOL
I paid almost $50 for the food in the pictures I've attached minus some eggrolls that I didn't bother with because the rest of the food was so bad. The wings were maybe boiled first? Really rubbery. The General Tso tasted burnt. The noodles were not good. Not sure how this place got 4 stars overall but the food was terrible and I feel like I wasted my money.
