This was our first time and here and we were pleasantly surprised! We pass this place all the time and we finally stopped after a recommendation from a friend. The food was good, definitely not out of this world but very solid and quality with good portion sizes. Our server Bayron was exceptional and made our experience here amazing. He was funny and gave us recommendations for the food when we were on the fence. Very prompt and good with the refills on drinks and chips. Will definitely be back!
I passed this place around 11pm and it was truly jumpin!! I love the atmosphere even at 5pm!! The food is amazing! A go to anytime im in the area.
Came to Casa Chapala and had the best experience! Our server Martha was the sweetest lady ever—so kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect the whole time. The food was amazing and the drinks were great too. Definitely recommend coming here for the food, drinks, and outstanding service. Thank you Martha!
Our service by the bartenders Alex and Sebastian was more than welcoming. Both of them were attentive and a great laugh through out the night. The manager on duty, Jordy, was also very friendly and attentive of our night to make sure we had a good time. Definitely recommend coming here for happy hour!
Dominik was amazing! We had a revolving party of about 8-12 people for a wedding shower. The staff was absolutely fantastic and super accommodating. Dominik was our server and he crushed it. He didn't miss a beat making sure we had everything we needed the whole time
Casa Chapala is amazing for personal and event use. We hosted a Young Catholic Professionals networking event there and Macros the event planner did an excellent job getting everything set up. The venue was clean, service was great, and food & drink were top notch per usual. Everyone had a great time.
Casa Chapala is such a great spot! Their guacamole is amazing, and the salsas are all delicious. The service was fantastic and really added to the experience. The margaritas were flowing, and the tacos were super yummy. Our group especially loved the pork in sauce, and the steak was so flavorful and cooked perfectly..
Esperanza was the BEST server! She was funny, kind and super attentive! She checked on us and really made our experience wonderful! Maryuri also made the tastiest guacamole table side - it was so fresh and delicious! Also the skinny margarita was wonderful :) all in all a great experience!
Keegan was my waiter. He did a a fabulous job and was very attentive. Not to overbearing but did listen very well. My friend and I casually mentioned how we loved olives, next thing you know we have a bunch of olives, thanks so much.
Up from San Antonio visiting family and they said we had to try this place. So glad we did. The atmosphere and music were great and the service was excellent. They have table side salsa made at different spicy levels and it was delicious. I had the mole chicken enchiladas and they were great. Our server Azucena was friendly and attentive. She made great recommendations and my tea rarely dipped under half full the whole visit. Wonderful experience, will definitely be back.
A perfect 10 experience at Casa Chapala. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with a smile, the place is beautiful, and the food is on another level. We were served by Carolina and she was amazing, very friendly, attentive, and fast. Thanks to her and the whole team, we had an incredible time. If you’re in Austin, this place is a must-stop. 🌮🔥
11/10!!! Our server Dominic was absolutely amazing, and every single item of food we ordered was amazing down to the free chips and salsa! Margaritas are amazing and they have a good selection of flavors! Definitely a new go to for us now :)
Martha was wonderful. My wife are visiting from Europe. We cannot get good Mexican food where we live. Martha made sure we had the best service, the best food. She had such a big wonderful smile that made us feel so welcome and like valued customers. She was great!
Went here on a whim and sat at the patio bar. My bartender was extremely accommodating and attentive. First time here and I absolutely loved everything about it. The bartender asked me how hot I like my salsa and I told him that I like really spicy things and he brought me a molcajete with fresh spicy salsa and it was sooooooo good, one of the best salsas I've had in Austin. The margarita was great too, and I just so happened to stop on a Taco Tuesday with $2 chicken chinga tacos!!! May be one of my new favorite places!! Thank you, Casa Chapala! Wish I knew my bartender's name; he was so great. He was working 12/30/25 around 4:30/5 pm.
When I visit Austin, the first thing I want is a margarita and Mexican food. I got both at this amazing restaurant and they were excellent . Kind, efficient and smiling waitstaff. Efficient and timely service. And management was walking the floor asking folks how they were doing. It’s a wonderful place with great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Casa Chapala – Austin, TX Casa Chapala is the spot if you’re craving authentic Mexican vibes paired with unforgettable food. The atmosphere feels warm and genuinely cultural, and the food? Absolute fire. Every dish lands with bold flavors that keep you coming back. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service — and Martha is the definition of what great looks like. She leads with grace, curiosity, and an incredible awareness of her guests’ needs. You can feel the quality of her service in every interaction. If you go, ask to be seated with Martha — she’ll take amazing care of you. The location is perfect too — right off the 183 freeway in the heart of Austin — making it super convenient whether you’re a local or just passing through. If you’re looking for delicious Mexican food, authentic tacos, friendly energy, and margaritas that do not play…Casa Chapala is absolutely the place to be. 🌮🍹🔥
Omg you guys don’t know how amazing their salsa is. I promise you hands down the best I have tasted. You know how sometimes the salsa can be too spicy you gotta take a break. Well I can’t stop.😍 phenomenal. Down to the burritos to the beans and guacamole ughh yesssss. And do not get started on their rice yummmmm. Coming here every chance. And their menu is not like other restaurants okay, I’m telling y’all come here now.😫 p.s definitely order the mango or coconut frozen bombbbb. Update to the review these guys came by with a harp and a violin and OMG the sounds they were playing through those instruments are amazing literally, I cannot wait to come back.
I went here recently with a large group. I think there was about 20 of us in total. The staff was so professional and friendly and didn’t hesitate to accommodate our large group, however, they did have advance notice which I recommend providing to ensure a smooth experience. Diana was our server that day and she was fantastic! She was very organized when it came to taking all of our orders and the food came out at the same time which was impressive! I had their Casa Rita with coconut which was delicious! For my main, I got the Al Pastor with flour tortillas (tortillas stuffed with chile and pineapple seasoned Al Pastor pork, served with pickled red onions and fresh cilantro). I ordered this from their lunch menu and it was the perfect amount of food! This was my first time eating here and I can definitely see myself coming back when I’m in the area again.
What a treat. This was our first visit and for sure will not be the last. Food (fajitas, queso flamdado) were very good but it was truly the service that made all the difference. Victor was fantastic and Helen with Lucky Stash tequila was an awesome addition to a great evening. Well done team Casa Chapala!

Now that I have exhausted my Spanish, let's talk about the food! The menu is huge, and the service is efficient and friendly. Stopped here twice in one week and both experiences were excellent.

Nice spot, loved the huge outdoor area. The drinks are pretty good and big size. The service was great and the food was hot and made fresh. My only issue was the price, the plates seemed very overpriced for what you received. For that I won’t be returning often, but worth a try for sure.
Went there on Sunday morning. Mexican buffet food is always risky but they do a good job with it. When you walk in you’re greeted with a host stand that’s literally 4’ from the door. It wasn’t busy so I got lucky and was greeted a minute in and escorted to my table. Food is OK but super pricey. The quality of the food is about as good as it gets for buffet food. And the service was more than adequate. Growing up in my Latino culture I totally get this restaurant. It looked and felt authentic but dang was it expensive. Perhaps, focus more on quality rather than quantity🥹
Better service. Had a large group of 10. The staff got several orders wrong. I will say the drinks were good but I will not go back there.

Having lived in San Antonio for thirty years, my standards for Mexican food are probably different than a lot of people who eat at this restaurant. The service was good, the atmosphere was okay, but the food was not what I expected. It just didn't have authentic Mexican food flavor in used to. Or, I should say, it wasn't in the same category of Mexican food I've grown to love.
Chapala is a dual restaurant and catering group. They operate their restaurant like a flashy colorful Tex-Mex style cantina where you'll feel like you're visiting San Antonio. A great touch about eating at the restaurant is the table salsa is semi prepared in front of you. You can select how spicy you'd like it and they'll mix it together in front of you. Food wise, it's not bad. The beans are very good for being vegetarian. A waitress confirmed that there is no meat used to create the black beans, and also none in the refried beans. The pastor tacos (see my photo) definitely didn't taste like pastor. Or really anything. They kind of taste like...achote meat. Same thing with the green enchiladas. Nothing was particularly memorable, but I can't say anything was bad. Go at lunch of for the lunch specials, and drive in from the south for an easier time getting into their parking lot. I'd return and try something else.
Good experience with food, killer drinks, and good upbeat ambience.... ....although the transparency on pricing "accuracy", CC%, lack of HH menu disclosures (unless you ask for them), and waiters trying to push the most expensive plates kills the experience a little. For those interested in Happy Hour (weekdays 3-7p) pricing, attached is their undisclosed HH menu

My second time eating here. The food i'd say is ok. More of Tex Mex than authentic Mexican. Yes I know I was in Texas. Haha. Service is ok. The place was clean.
It was an ok Mexican spot. The restaurant and decor were nice. The staff was friendly. The food was average even the chips and salsa.
