Avis sur Nickel City Austin
nickel city is a great bar with some outstanding food! the cheese curds had a unique seasoning that really made them special, and the wings were cooked to perfection, and covered with just the right amount of sauce. they are some of the best wings in austin, and we were told they do $1 wings on monday! for sure will be going back!
Absolute must if you're visiting Austin. Dive bar feel; however, serves elevated cocktails and a surprisingly excellent selection of whiskey. Food truck on site daily serves up the typical bar food needed while enjoying multiple libations. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and friendly staff. Thanks and cheers y'all!
It IS the place. Everyone is alive and well when you walk in there and see it packed with a bunch of different people all coexisting to watch a sports game or grab a super good drink. Personally love the frozen coffee mud slide like drink (highly recommend). They offer to go drinks for that specific drink (not sure about the rest). They have fun themes around different holidays and their decoration game is strong! They have great food in the food truck as well and , although limited, a fun and decently sized outdoor seating area on top of the booth seating inside. Also is in the heart of a former of current black artist neighborhood with culture that I can admit I couldn't exactly tell you with confidence the exact nature of, but go find out for yourself lol. Also a very short walk(1-2 blocks of that) to a cute clean lake/park that is nice to walk around and hang out in that part of town. Recommend 10/10.
This is seriously the greatest bar in all of Austin. I dont live in Austin anymore, but when I visit, this is seriously the number 1 bar in the whole entire city!!! If anyone loves to day drink, this is the spot!!!
It’s the worst. Don’t go there. I hate it. The food isn’t even as phenomenal as the locals say it is. The bartenders aren’t even as cool as they seem. Lol this bar is amazing, best neighborhood spot in town.
Literally the best dirty martini I’ve ever had. I haven’t had one in over 10 years so I don’t know if what that counts for but this girl was smooth and dirty just like I em. Baby daddy ordered a hot toddy and it was delicious too.. if u like good vibes, chill dive bar, community type ish, good drinks this yoooooo spot
They had it all decked out for the holidays. It was really well done. I had one of the holiday cocktails and it was dangerously delicious…cold brew, vodka and cinnamon. We had some mozzarella sticks and lemon pepper wings and they hit the spot and flavor was on point. Bartenders were nice. I’ll be back for sure!
A local favorite bar with patronages from all social classes. There themes are interesting to say the least to include the festive holiday adult beverages. There are 2 food trucks available if not interested in the bar food offered. The bartenders are attentive and are very efficient at making mix drinks.
A fun and unexpected find! My boyfriend and I ended up at Nickel City by accident, and we were immediately drawn in by the exterior, which looks just like something out of The Simpsons. We decided to go inside, and we’re so glad we did. The atmosphere is fully themed and super fun, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the drinks were absolutely delicious. It turned out to be a great surprise and one of our favorite stops in Austin. Highly recommended for fans of the show or anyone looking for a unique bar experience!
Awesome place to get my last cocktail during my visit to Austin. This place has a friendly, welcoming staff, a dark yet swanky feel. Almost like a speak-easy meets your local bar. The food is delicious and the drinks are just right. I would not have known about this place but some friends in our group were staying at the hotel close by so this became their regular spot while in town as they fell in love with the staff. So we closed out our trip here for a nightcap and great conversation. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town for a conference, comedy, or just to have fun.
I stopped in for their Simpsons pop-up and it was very well executed! I loved how the servers were all dressed up as different characters. The cocktails, like the Flaming Moe, were delicious! The vibe was very fun and welcoming and the bartender even offered us free shots. Super fun and would highly recommend
Nickel City during their Simpson’s Moe’s Tavern theme is an absolute blast! The place was packed, creating an energetic, fun vibe that really brought the theme to life. They did an awesome job with all the themed drinks, adding a playful touch that made the experience even better. Went with friends, and we all had a great time soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying the creativity behind each drink. Perfect spot if you’re looking for a unique, lively night out!
No wonder this place just won best bar in austin. We’re visiting from detroit and haven’t loved the bars downtown. We ventured a little out and discovered this gem. We’ve gone back almost every day. The bartenders are so kind and fun to chat with. The drinks are delicious and strong. The food is so delicious too! This is a bar for down to earth people. Will be missing this place when we go back home. Get the frozen Irish coffee!! 🥳❤️
My wife and I enjoyed our time at Nickel City. It’s a small venue, but it feels nice and intimate. There’s an outdoor patio as well if there’s nice weather. We liked how they decorated the bar for the holidays. The drinks were delicious and we appreciate the holiday themed cocktails. The cups and shot glasses were nice too. You can also purchase them if you want to bring them home. And I’m a sports fan so I appreciate the TVs playing games while I enjoyed the vibes.
Bartender asked me if I wanted to close out, and I said yes cause I just wanted 1 lonestar. He never brought me my receipt and I got charge triple cause they said I walked out on my tab and they get to gives themselves 18% gratuity. Talked to the manager and she didn't help. Also they dont have a number phone on Google so I had to drive back up there. They also do a 30 dollar pre authorization. I've NEVER heard of a bar that does 30 dollars preauthorizarion. Moe's tavern would never 😂
We weren’t allowed to bring in the gifts we had with us, even though we weren’t planning to open them yet, which we understood. The staff told us to leave the gifts outside and pick them up when we left. When we came out, only two of the three gifts were still there. When we asked about the missing one, the staff said it wasn’t their issue and that they didn’t have to do that for us.
Used to love this bar. Used to be the dive bar with great mixed drinks. Things are not going great. Went in on Labor Day for drinks, food, and to pick up a t shirt as a gift. It was moderately busy. They're not serving cocktails because they're too busy and they took at least as long to explain that as to just make a drink, with an attitude like it was our fault for ordering off the menu on the bar on front of us. Left without drinks, food, or merch. Hopefully things change for the better.
