The best service I’ve experienced at any establishment in Austin thus far. The gentleman in the bar area and the other kind man who made my mocha were 2 of the utmost caring service staff I have ever met in all my life. The service in the dining room was almost superb. The food to me doesn’t match my palette, but I’m sure anyone who loves Italian or pasta would be pleased. Glad I came. Thanks Chris! Gwen was amazing. You’d better not lose her!
Nido sends detailed instructions after you book, including valet info ($15) and dining time limits. Dessert was on the house for my birthday along with a signed birthday card, which instantly elevated the whole experience. Honestly, how often do you get something for free at a restaurant that isn’t an apology? We fully leaned into the indulgence and ordered: Lasagna Tuna carpaccio Two mocktails And the complimentary carrot mille-feuille dessert Everything was flavorful, rich, and absolutely worth it. Because Nido sits across the water from downtown, the terrace gives you a full skyline view that’s all tall buildings reflected on Lady Bird Lake. It feels scenic and calm rather than busy and street-level. They do have indoor seating, but the terrace is the move if the weather cooperates. Interestingly, the restroom in Nido is co-ed.
All the dishes in the picture were delicious, we were so happy with our little new year celebration, l have been to Nido for brunch couple of times but the dinner was amazing too. We ordered Parker House Rolls, Fritter, flatbread, Pasta and chicken and everything was excellent. We would definitely go back for dinner.
If you’re looking for an unbeatable view of the Austin skyline, the most unique wine selections, and the most wonderful staff - Nido is your place!!! It was my first time there and the staff, especially our server Dave, were incredible. Being able to snuggle up with a blanket during a chilly fall afternoon (provided by Nido), enjoying beautiful French wine, and hearing the city sounds as the background all made this experience absolutely worth the trip to Austin! 😄😄😄
We had a great lunch here after decided to pop in on a Sunday afternoon, post walking the lake. The restaurant is on the 8th floor of the Loren hotel and if you can, grab/reserve a table outside - the view is great! We had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the lamb ragù. Both were good but the lamb ragù dish was really incredible. The potatoes served with the Benedict were also done perfectly. Our servers were super nice and friendly, too. Overall a really nice experience! Would love to come back and check out their dinner menu, in the future.
We had a fantastic experience at Nido thanks to Dave! He was absolutely wonderful! Warm, kind, and incredibly attentive. His knowledge of the menu made our meal even better, especially his recommendations for the lamb, which was delicious. He also suggested some amazing drinks that we loved. Dave’s exceptional service truly elevated our visit. Highly recommend asking for him!
The view, the food, and the service — everything was amazing! Dave helped us choose and we were so grateful we tried all those options. Thank you, Dave! He paid so much attention to us - I wasn’t feeling well that day, and he made sure I felt better and comfortable throughout the evening. He was truly so attentive that I just had to mention his service separately. I can tell the restaurant is run by great managers — the menu, the atmosphere, and the staff training are all outstanding. I spend a lot of time in Europe and usually compare restaurants to the high standards there — and this one absolutely stands out. It’s on the same level, which is rare to find in the U.S. I will definitely come back one day❤️
I have been here for drinks but never to eat . I will say one of the best experiences the vibe the scenery and delish brunch menu to hard to decide . I had the biscuits and gravy but just not your normal biscuits and gravy. It has so many flavors that all went well together. One of the best things about this place I would say the service was 5 stars and our waiter Mr Sebastian was amazing and described each dish we asked about to the T ! Everyone else super sweet and attentive but HE was amazing !!! 5 star service Sebastian!!! We will be back for brunch .
Dave and he was Dave, our server, truly outdid himself on this beautiful fall night. My best friend and I were seeking ambiance and attentive service, and we were not disappointed. Dave was incredibly caring and attentive to every need we had. We were ensured that we had everything we desired, which is exactly what I come to expect and value.
Nido restaurant is located on the top floor of the Loren Hotel Austin. Nido means “nest” 🪺 in Spanish. You definitely get a “trendy treehouse” vibe while dining—especially if you’re lucky enough to dine on the terrace. We had a delicious breakfast meal on the terrace, and their room service for dinner! I’m not sure which I liked more! Firstly, the room service comes quickly and directly from the restaurant. The roasted chicken I’ve had twice. Both times it was extremely juicy, tender, and flavorful. It is garnished with some leafy greens, wild rice, and a touch of mouthwatering gravy. The potato écrasé was a less mashed version of mashed potatoes accompanied with dill, chives, and pickled mustard seed. I added their sumac yogurt to the potatoes for an extra kick! I recommend asking for this addition-quite spectacular! Then, I finished the dinner with their 🍨 gelato which was comparable to true Italian gelato you can only get by air-travel! The breakfast was equally delicious: eggs, sourdough toast, potatoes, yogurt smoothie, and great drip coffee. Without asking they brought yellow bird spicy sauce which was a great addition to the potatoes and egg. Definitely come check out Nido on your next dining experience!

We enjoyed every part of our evening at Nidos. The venue, bar, menu, service, food and views were all outstanding. It was expensive but what we got was easily worth it. We will return.
This is a rooftop restaurant in the Loren hotel in Austin Texas. We went to this place for Valentine’s Day 2026. We are so glad we got a reservation here because Austin’s best restaurants are all booked up due to Valentine’s and the Austin marathon the next day. It was raining all day in Austin but cleared up for the evening. The view and the colors of the sky were amazing. I would go back here, just for the views. The ambience is beautiful inside and there was live music (instrumental harp) which was romantic. They gave us a good seating. The food was ok and not great. The octopus was really really salty. I think they salted it twice. It was also rubbery and I have eaten better seafood elsewhere. I told the waiter and he did not do anything about it. I know it was a busy day for them but I don’t think the service was outstanding. I took some pics of the views and we had a good time regardless of the food and service.
So we made a reservation for 5:30 PM on a Thursday and sat inside at one of the couches in the bar right along the window and it was a great view. Our server was not very attentive. I had to ask other employees a couple different times to bring us water refills, and a refill of my Diet Coke, but the food was awesome. I had the braised short ribs, and my husband had the lobster. We also had some wine and cocktails. For dessert we had the dark chocolate torte which was awesome and the perfect amount.
I'm visiting from out of town, and my son had made Christmas Eve dinner reservations for us. Upon arrival, the hostess wanted to seat us on a low sofa at a shared table with other guests; an immediate turn-off for a restaurant that markets itself as “Austin’s most glamorous restaurant.” We were then escorted to an available table. The tables were literally inches apart. The noise level is high, and we could hear conversations on both sides of us better than we could hear each other. As a plus, the food was excellent, and the service was great. All in all, depends on what you consider upscale and what your expectations are. The portions are "designer portions," and the tab is high. My recommendation is that if you dine here, be assertive about your seating and what you want from the experience.

I really was hoping for better, but unfortunately everything about this place just kept missing(or trying too hard). From sit-down to food order was 20 min(eh), the hamachi appetizer had great fish quality but a melon sauce sweet enough for dessert, the boar lasagna had quite good boar but was overly spicy and oddly slimy(I think a function of the cheese) and the “all American banana split” had great caramelized bananas but only low quality vanilla ice cream(I am sorry but a banana split must have strawberry, chocolate and strawberry). If you are staying at the hotel and you have your $100 Amex credit to use…ok. Or if you have a patio reservation and have a cocktail and app looking at the view…great. But for dining, there are far higher quality meals at better prices available in close proximity, definitely feel like I wasted my money for poor quality here.
Overall is way overpriced with the smallest portion you could get. The food was very mid especially the octopus appetizer, $32 for one tentacle with little to no taste. The hamachi appetizer wasn’t bad. The entree portions were all small. If you go for the view, it was okay. The restaurant isn’t set in a higher level so don’t expect the view to be a view from a high rise perspective. The service was nice, the host moved us to the patio even we didn’t book the outdoor dining since we messed up the booking. However, food took forever to come even when there’s not that many people in the restaurant, if you like slow dining then maybe it’s for you. We had the lamb pasta, that was good but not worth the price either even it’s like a cheaper option on the menu. We also tried the $55 braised short rib, very mid, it’s supposed to be their best option on the menu. We tried the lobster, it’s not bad but same thing portion was small. The trout was nothing special at all. Each person basically paid $110 for getting your stomach 1/4 full. If that’s a dining experience you like then it’s for you, but I would go for a better experience and food restaurant with that kind of pricing, might as well go to a Michelin star rated ones.
We had a reservation for seven girls since this was for a bachelorette and this specific restaurant was what the bride wanted, getting our reserved table was a breeze but the server is where our experience unfortunately didn’t meet the standards. We got told “ I know this is your first time here “ with a judge mental look, when asked for a coke or sprite product we were told “ Ugh a coke? with a eye roll “ mind you we have been drinking alcohol nonstop so yes some girls wanted a break. Then for the food part we were judged for only wanting one entree, we also had an order of two bread rolls and had two left she then picked them up without asking and everyone else’s plate that had fresh bread on it. End of story is we unfortunately would not come back again but I do want to recognize Regina the manager of the night she understood our frustration and tried her best to fix it, she was phenomenal to add onto a bad experience and wanted to say thank you for trying to make it right, she even took group photo of us on the terrace.
Can't really say much for this place, unfortunately. We came for a dinner and ordered the brussel sprouts, which they serve essentially uncooked on purpose, and the rest of the options we got were all fairly forgettable. The dessert was also pricey and not worth it. It was also packed that day and our server wasn't able to make it to our table very often, which wasn't the fault of the servers, but still didn't help, especially when we tried to raise our hands to get their attention, had them look at us, acknowledge us, and then not bother coming to the table. Also, the ambience wasn't very enjoyable because it was so packed, it was hard to hear over the noise of the music and everyone else talking. Also, for a high end restaurant that charges what it does, the fact that it has paper napkins is a bit of an odd choice. Really the best thing it has going for it is the view.
The prices are outrageous for what they serve, and the service is abysmal. I honestly cannot believe that with a reservation, I had to wait 20 min when there were multiple open tables, and then wa…
We had a very bizarre yet bad experience here. First off we all ordered cocktails and while we were sipping on our cocktails I ordered a $250 bottle of wine and said we would like it to be served with our dinner, at this point the waiter quite rudely asked to see all our IDs, which honestly took me back as we are all in our 40s and I doubt anyone under the age of 21 would order a $250 bottle of wine with dinner. Appetizers came out and they were shockingly subpar for the prices. The mussel dish had more potatoes than mussels, the octopus was chewy and burnt and the fritters dish was too sweet. While eating our appetizers we were still sipping on our cocktails and TWICE the servers tried to clear our drinks that were not empty. Then they began to serve the bottle of wine, we still had our cocktails and our appetizers and at this point we were feeling rushed. Finally dinner comes out and we were even more disappointed. The Lamb cavatelli was extremely salty, the trout was dry and the leeks were stringy and burnt. While we were talking and trying to enjoy the meal, they just kept clearing everything. We were not even done with our dinner and they just took the dishes away!! Additionally it was SO loud we couldn't even hear each other. The whole experience was quite upsetting especially for what you would expect at a "Fine Dining" establishment. Would NOT recommend this place.
We called ahead to try to get a reservation for a table on the patio. The girl that answered the phone said that we wouldn't need one since they aren't that busy. When we arrived 15 minutes after speaking with her, the hostess asked us if we had a reservation. We told her we did not. She said she had a table open, but we could only have it for an hour. We got sat, we each ordered a $20(ish) glass of wine. Our server was kind of rude. He also got an attitude when I asked if I could sample a wine. He took a while before he came to come take our order. (They were not busy.) For only giving us an hour to eat, you think he would come take our order so we could get our food, eat, and go. When I selected the wine I wanted, he poured it the bottle over the sample, and didn't even pour a full serving of it. Which has never happened to me at a high-end restaurant. Our appetizer came out the same time as our food, even though we ordered it way before our entrees. My eggs benedict was bland and my boyfriend's pasta was undercooked (al dente). We had a fantastic view of the city; I'll give them that. But it was overall an underwelming and disappointing experience, especially for the price. By the time we left, there were still open tables on the patio, so I don't know why the hostess told us we could only stay for an hour. When I go to a high-end restaurant, I expect better service. We could've gotten better service at Applebee's.
