Avis sur The Greek Bar Austin
We were very impressed with the food at The Greek Bar. All the ingredients tasted fresh and well balanced. We started or meal with the Pikilia: a three spread combo (Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Eggplant, and the Favosalata, a split pea spread with blistered tomatoes. We followed this course with a Greek Salad. The home made dressing was incredible, the Feta Cheese creamy and the tomatoes were super sweet. Following the salad, we shared the "Kalamari", these were crispy, fresh, and served with an amazing homemade pepper aioli sauce. We finished our meal with the Spanish Octopus served with red pepper "saltsa". It was tender and a good portion. The staff was helpful and attentive. The interior design was pleasant and calming. We will definitely come back soon to try some other items on the menu. Thank you.
This place was fantastic! Such a gem. I feel like it’s so hard to find good authentic Greek food and this places delivers. The atmosphere is so beautiful and the staff is so friendly. We had the dip trio and each dip we tried was amazing for its own reason (definitely one of the best tzatzikis I have had in a long time). We also tried the skewer and the lemon rice soup. The lamb was perfect, juicy and flavorful inside with a great charred crust. And the soup was 👌🏻👌🏻. Daphane was our sever and was absolutely so sweet and wonderful. Can’t say enough great things. Can’t wait to come back.
I had a nice time here. I was a little worried given the inconistent reviews but as theyre newish, it probably was some growing pains in the beginning. The server was very attentive and friendly. I had the Greek style fried chicken. It was crispy on the outside and tender/juicy on the inside. The vegetables underneath were very delicious. Another guest ordered the chicken skewers that she really enjoyed. They also have mocktails and NA beer. We sat inside but it seemed very nice on the patio. I'll probably try to sit outside next time. There is a convenient parking lot also. If you're in the neighborhood, swing by! You won't be disappointed
A great addition to the Greek scene. Food spot on for flavor, freshness & authenticity. Cocktails were imaginative. Trio of dips spot on with homemade pita. Calamari & octopus perfectly cooked & flavored. Skip the zucchini which fell flat. Mains of lamb, fried chicken, lavraki (fish) & moussaka were all perfect. Moussaka was the best I’ve had outside my own kitchen. Definitely will be back.
I cannot rave a out this meal enough. It was easily the best Greek food, bordering on just the best all around food I've ever had. The food was plentiful, deep flavors and came with bright pickled vegetables to round everything out. If you're in town for a weekend stop here. If you live here, make it a brunch routine. We were so excited to eat that we forgot to take photos until it was mostly gone.
This place is honestly one of my favorite spots ever. I live in Florida and have somehow managed to come back three separate times in the last six months… that’s how good it is! The whole vibe here is just perfect. You can tell there’s real passion behind everything they do. The food, the drinks, the design, even the energy is all on point! The Greek God Bless You cocktail is unreal, so silky and smooth, I could drink 100 of them. The lamb chops are juicy and full of flavor, and every single dip is a win. It’s officially my excuse to keep coming back to Texas. Can’t wait to try their brunch next time I’m in town. Highly, highly recommend.
I recently visited The Greek Bar in Austin, and this place absolutely delivered on every level. From the moment you see the glowing blue sign outside at night, you already feel like you’re stepping into something special. The exterior is warm and inviting, with soft patio lighting and a cozy Mediterranean vibe. It feels intimate but lively at the same time. Inside, the ambiance is beautiful. White brick walls, arched windows, clay urns, soft lighting, and subtle Greek decor make it feel authentic without being overdone. It’s stylish but still relaxed. Whether you’re there for date night, dinner with friends, or a family gathering, the space just works. The atmosphere feels elevated yet comfortable. We started with spreads and warm pita, and that alone set the tone for the night. The pita was soft, fluffy, and served warm. The tzatziki was fresh and creamy with the perfect garlic and cucumber balance. The other spreads had rich textures and bold Mediterranean flavors, topped with olive oil and herbs. The pickled vegetables and olives added that perfect tangy contrast. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. For the mains, we had the lamb skewer and the chicken skewer, both served over yellow rice pilaf with sides. The lamb skewer was outstanding. Juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled perfectly with a beautiful char on the outside while staying tender inside. It had that authentic Greek spice profile without being overpowering. Paired with the rice, tzatziki, and pickled vegetables, every bite was balanced. The red onion salad on the side added freshness and acidity that cut through the richness of the meat. The chicken skewer was just as impressive. Perfectly grilled, flavorful, and not dry at all. It came with both tzatziki and a red pepper sauce that added a slightly smoky, mildly spicy kick. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, not plain or bland. You can tell they care about every component on the plate. We also ordered the roasted Greek potatoes, and those deserve their own mention. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, seasoned beautifully with herbs and lemon. They were addictive. Not greasy, not under-seasoned, just perfectly done. To finish, we had baklava. And this was the perfect ending. Flaky layers of phyllo pastry, generously filled with nuts, and soaked in just the right amount of honey syrup. It wasn’t overly sweet or soggy. It had that perfect crisp-to-soft texture that real baklava should have. Simple but executed perfectly. The cocktails were also well crafted. Served in solid glasses with clear ice, balanced flavors, not overly sweet, and thoughtfully presented. You get that crafted cocktail feel, not something rushed. Now let’s talk about service. Top notch. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. They explained dishes, gave recommendations confidently, and checked in at the right times without hovering. That kind of service makes a huge difference. You feel valued as a guest. Overall, The Greek Bar is a solid 5 out of 5. Great ambiance, authentic flavors, beautifully prepared food, strong cocktails, and exceptional service. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this one does. Most recommended if you’re in Austin and looking for a Mediterranean spot that truly delivers. Definitely going back again.
Such an amazing new restaurant with friendly staff and lots of food/drink options. I loved this place because it didn’t feel like one of those trendy, new spots that didn’t deliver but actually a place where management cared about the customers’ experience. The Greek inspired cocktails were so unique and they’re dog friendly with heaters outside which is always a plus!
We spent our New Year’s Eve dinner here and had very good experience. The atmosphere was amazing and made the evening even more special. We started with the dolmades, which were absolutely delicious and came with a flavorful tzatziki. For the main course, we had the moussaka and skewer both were very tasty. But the real highlight of the night was the baklava. We completely fell in love with it. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!
This place was absolutely to die for. Our server abhi was so friendly with great recommendations and fast service. Best spanakopita I’ve had as well as the pikiliq, get the tirokafteri! So good!! 🇬🇷Great music and will be back!
This place is awesome! The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Whipped feta, spanikopita, and juicy chicken kebabs. Great cocktails as well! I'll be back for sure!
The banquette seating was VERY comfortable. I loved the firm foam padding, very comfortable. We sat inside in the evening and I think they should lower the lights to set the mood, it felt very bright inside for dinner. It’d definitely give a sexier mood if they lowered the lights. The food was very delicious! The service was very friendly and efficient! Drinks were great!
This is a very cute little restaurant! Loved the decor, the food was all great, and the staff was quick and attentive. The food came out quickly other than the Greek donuts but they were made fresh so I’d rather wait! My only complaints were pretty minor- we were inside and seated right under the fan which I found pretty cold, and the wooden chairs were pretty uncomfortable. Happily I was distracted by the tasty food! We started with the eggplant dip and grilled octopus- the eggplant was good but by far my favorite was the octopus. It had a sort of chimichurri sauce and was mostly very tender- some of the thinner tentacles were a little chewy but most of it was spot on. For mains we got two of the fried chicken- juicy and the honey was a nice addition; a pork skewer and a chicken skewer- both were tender with some char and nicely seasoned; and a moussaka which while maybe a small looking portion was extremely rich and filling! We also got a side of the lemon potatoes and they were a good portion that we all shared. For dessert we had an order of baclava and an order of the donuts; both were very good but I found the donuts a bit doughy inside. I’ve never had them before so maybe that is how they are, but the flavor was good and they were super fresh so I wasn’t complaining. We had a few cocktails, I enjoyed the Mayan something, it was a lot like a cucumber ranch water with a bit of sweetness. We tried a couple of the ouzo ones but personally I’m just not a huge fan of the flavor. Price- for the 5 of us it was about $350 including a 20% tip, so $70/person isn’t cheap but it’s not crazy for apps, drink, main, and dessert. I’d come back, especially if they do a good happy hour!
Great spot in an easy to get to location. The Big Fat Greek Fried Chicken is perfection with it hitting sweet, salty, crunchy and savory in one dish. The outside seating was perfect for a 6:30pm reservation. Mocktails on the menu was a pleasant surprise and they were very tasty!

I am so happy we finally have a little Greek spot like this on our side of town. The food is fresh, delicious and the service is extremely kind and welcoming. You can feel that the entire staff really wants this restaurant to succeed. Things we tried: - whipped feta dip 10/10 Yum - fried zucchini croquettes 10/10 double yum. we wanted more sauce which they kindly brought - grilled octopus 9/10 wish it were a bit more grilled yet loved the flavor, very tender and slightly pricy for the amount of octopus you get - the chicken skewer 8/10 the chicken and vegetables themselves were perfectly seasoned and cooked but the accompanying bulgar salad lacked any sauce (citrus? Salt?) and the portion was too small for an entree size At every turn they were there to accommodate and it felt so relaxed. The indoors is also vibey but the weather was really nice so we sat on the patio and shared a wonderful bottle of Greek white wine. It’s up higher so you feel separated from Oltorf and I’d suggest they put up some potted cypress trees along the inside patio edge that would help with noise and summer shades that will come. We can’t wait to return with friends and make this a regular spot.
The Good: The no frills, "just good quality fresh food" approach is not common enough these days. It was so refreshing to just enjoy a good meal without going broke. It makes me want to return again and again. The Greek Fried Chicken was to die for!! The Meh: I wish our server was a little more attentive to empty plates, refilling water, etc. But it may have just been a hard day.
Hands down, this is the best greek spot in town. From the food to the service, everything was amazing. Intimate little restaurant with an ambiance that feels warm for dinner. We are definitely going back.
Stopped in on a Friday a little bit before 5:00 to check out their happy hour, which is M-F 4-6. We appreciate a happy hour you can ACTUALLY go to after work. All the food we ate was WONDERFUL and authentic and took us back to our summer vacation in Greece. We ordered the happy hour spread and the chicken gyro. All amazing. For an entree, we shared the Moussaka since we were not that hungry. I will say it was a lot smaller than expected for the $22 price. Our waitress, Polina, did advise us on the dishes that were shareable and this was not one of them. She was very sweet, attentive, and helpful! Would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a cute vibe with authentic Greek food!
Made same day reservations, we love Greek food but didn’t want to travel too far. The new brunch hours worked out! Had amazing drinks, food & dessert! Service was excellent as well. Our 8 year old was trying to venture out of her normal fried food and she loved the pancakes! They were soft fluffy and sweet! Chicken was perfectly cooked but the potatoes & veggies were def our favorites.
Loved it! Reminds me of a restaurant I went to in Crete. Loved the food. Amazing service. The water was always filled and every attention to detail was looked at. Absolutely superior Moussaka. Probably the best I have had. The spanakopita is excellent. All sauces are on point. Plenty of parking as there is an overflow lot a very short walk away. Perfect restaurant experience. We will be back!

We visited The Greek Bar when our family had one night in Austin and couldn't have been happier with our decision. The patio is adorable. The greek wine was delicious. Our server did a wonderful job describing the food and navigating our families gluten sensitivity. Then the food was spectacular. You could tell every component was thoughtful and that the dishes were homemade. For our main dish we selected the sea bass, which was perfectly prepared and well seasoned. We would highly recommend The Greek Bar.
Cute little spot! Found this restaurant on Infatuation Austin. They have an amazing happy hour. I’d highly recommend it. The tzatziki is pretty much a dip for every dish, so I wouldn’t recommend getting it for an appetizer. The calamari, grape leaves, and mini gyros were delicious! The chicken skewer was so flavorful and juicy. Service was attentive!
Friendly and informative service. Nice patio, bar, and traditional tables. Happy Hour is 4-6 and offers discounted red and White House wine, selection of dips, & mini euros. The typical friendly, neighborhood establishment
Great service and cool vibe. In fairness, I ordered a non traditional Greek dish (fried chicken). Cooked well but just didn’t appreciate the taste. The humus and pita were fantastic. I’ll definitely be back to try the other traditional dishes.

Overpriced in my opinion for what you get, but it was good. The doughnuts are a must snag if you do go. Drinks were good, service was good. For a pricing review, the pork skewer plate featured in my photos was $22 and the three dip hummus I think was like $22-$25 (can’t remember exactly). Drinks were what you would expect $14-$16. So mainly my 3 stars is I don’t know if my meal was worth the price. Service is great, though!
