I've been looking for a new cake place and I have struck gold! Upper Crust Bakery is AMAZING – their cakes and pies are freaking awesome and worth every single calorie. Every bite is a celebration of flavor and texture that will keep me coming back. The chocolate Italian cake blew me away with its moist layers, hints of ginger for that subtle spicy kick, and coconut woven in just right to add a tropical chew without overpowering the deep, fudgy chocolate. The lemon buttermilk cake was delightfully tangy. Their Italian cream cake nails the classic with nutty pecans, sweet cream cheese frosting, and tender cake that's impossible to resist. Shockingly, I preferred the chocolate Italian cream, but I wouldn't turn any slice away from this shop. And don't sleep on the Dutch apple pie – warm cinnamon-spiced apples in a buttery, crumbly topping that feels like homemade heaven, with just the right sweet-tart balance. I cannot wait to go back!
I ordered a small cake online with an inspo pic and it came out so well. It matched inspo perfectly and it tasted amazing. The cake was moist and the frosting was sweet without being overly so. The employee who got my order for me was friendly and warm. I thought the price was super reasonable too. Highly recommend!

I almost hesitate to tell how great this place is because it is very often hard to park there. But it is well worth ignoring that and dealing with the much better problem of deciding which baked delight to get. A warm and inviting place many locals walk to. The staff make you feel at home and never want to leave. Upper Crust is the epitome of how Austin does decadent baked goods: real ingredients, artistically created with love. Indulge yourself.
I LOVE this place! The cakes are AMAZING! The custom decoration is top notch and the staff help think of such fun phrases if you need ideas for what to write on your cake! Ask for Amanda because she is the kindest, wittiest, and truly cares about each person who orders. Definitely would recommend this place, especially with her assisting, to anyone who is looking for great desserts.
Can't believe I have never been here before. Stopped in for lunch and had the hardest time deciding - so many delicious looking soups, sandwiches and salads. We landed on the chicken salad sandwich and egg salad sandwich. Both were fantastic. We picked up some pastries to go for breakfast - they were incredible. Lots of seating, fresh quality ingredients, and excellent service. Wish we had something like this in our neighborhood - I would be here all the time. Bread was fresh and had black tea and hibiscus mint which I love. Will be back!

I like to consider myself a cinnamon roll connoisseur and Upper Crust has, hands down, the best cinnamon rolls in Austin. Disclaimer: If your idea of a good cinnamon roll is a soft, gooey mess with loads of icing on top, this ain't it--go get yourself a Cinnabon. Upper Crust's is sugar-crunchy on top and chewy in a good way, yet fluffy. Also, for the size you get, it's a great value! The best!
Some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had! (I usually ask for one from the center) Awesome cakes as well. The quiche is fluffy and delicious. Wonderful place to go to satisfy any level of carb craving! Lunch is served as well, but I'm too full from the cinnamon rolls.
I am a giant fan of Uppercrust bakery! My favorite is cinnamon roll and coffee combo! Hands down best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. Staff is almost always friendly and curtious. Make sure you get there early they do sell out of some items. You can't go wrong with any of the baked items or items on menu/board. Only down side is parking can be a little tight and not always table available, but more reason to take to go and enjoy at the park!
The kind of bakery and café every neighborhood should have. I had the green salad— wonderfully fresh ingredients and a house made balsamic vinaigrette. along with a generous made just right tuna salad. I took a slice of coconut cream pie to go -perfection! Just the right amount of sweetness. You can also pre-order bread — they have sourdough which is a challenge to find here. Their prices are very reasonable and I also appreciate the friendly service!⭐️
I'm a Native Austinite. I love Upper Crust Bakery. We live way south, so I rarely get to shop here, but love supporting a local business and love everything I've ever tried here. Can't wait to go back!
Love love love!!!! Been coming here forever and will keep coming. My daughter grew up coming here. Best cinnamon rolls in town. But if you get here late you will find and empty display. See pic 1. If this happens to you, there’s so many good options here. I love the apple pie!!! The oatmeal cookies are crunchy and chewy. The smoked turkey sandwich with all the fixings is a must. The bread is so good here. I love their whole wheat bread. You can taste the nutty deep flavor. I have tried to replicate at home and it’s not the same. Love their lentil soup and all the cakes are awesome. I’m a baker myself and if I can’t bake a cake, I come here and get one. The carrot cake, chocolate mocha and Italian cream cakes are my favorite!!! The quiche is good here too! Everything is good here!!! Friendly and it busy because they’re that good!
Mocha almond cake is truly delicious!! The marble cupcake is mouth watering.. I would love to try their other items next time!
Just know: It’s all downhill from here. My coworker bought me a cinnamon roll and I took a look at it thinking “what is this basic thing before me with no icing? We shall call you ‘Karen’.” I thought it was gonna be one of those fluffy dinner rolls-like cinnamon rolls. BUT NO! I took a bite and was surprised that I bit into a deep fried churro-like, fried croissant-like, deep dish pan pizza-like, cronut-like devilish concoction that was slightly oily with every bite and covered in cinnamon sugar. What the hell?! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!!!! It’s all downhill from here. I have to try everything else, but that is a 5-star cinnamon roll.
This was my first time ordering a cake at this bakery and it exceeded my expectations! I ordered a custom design Gateau Marisa cake and it came out so perfect. Everyone loved it! Decoration from the inspiration I gave them was spot on and it was so delicious. We will definitely be ordering from here again for other events!
I had to come back for these cinnamon rolls with no icing although I don't need them..This seems like a good bakery overall with great cakes, pies ,cookies, cupcakes and other pastries... Upper Crust also has great coffee ☕ with soups,salads and sandwiches
The prettiest and tastiest Easter goodies are here. The carrot cake cupcakes are so groovy that you will devour two or three in seconds. Also, I had never tasted Italian cake. It was rich and made me close my eyes in gratitude. I found special Easter cookies that were designed so mericulously. GO TO THIS BAKERY. It does the heart good to share these delights with friends. I forgot to take pic of Italian cake. I was too busy eating it.
If you need cakes in central Austin, go to Upper Crust. I had 3 birthdays to buy cakes for. For the first cake, I went with Edis Bakery and while the flavor was amazing, the decoration was poor. And the cost was $85! I even got a quote from La Patisserie and the cost was $85. The last quote I got was from Heaven’s Bistro, which was $95 to $135. I was panicking for cakes #2 and #3 but I stumbled upon the Upper Crust website. What a godsend. The cakes we got were beautifully decorated, tasted amazing, and cost maybe $45-60 each. (I can’t remember exactly but it was so extremely reasonable) My kids loved the Upper Crust cakes and said they want them next year for their birthdays!
Upper Crust is next-level Delish! Their quiches, savory & sweet croissants and cinnamon rolls are the Best in Austin! We also adore the kind, cool employees & adorable space in Rosedale. Highest recommendation.

Tried both a chocolate cake and a strawberry gâteau cake as well as a cinnamon roll. The gateau was amazing and very different from the chocolate cake. Honestly, the chocolate cake was decent, but it tasted like any grocery store could have made it. The cinnamon roll was less doughy and more flaky but buttery and delicious. There is an ordering line and a pickup line (right side) inside.

There are many options here! The cinnamon rolls are huge and delicious. They are fluffy and have a great cinnamon flavor without being too strong.
