I was pleasantly surprised to have a server that knew exactly what to recommend when I mentioned a shellfish allergy. Josh excelled in every way to ensure our experience was nothing short of perfect. The food was spectacular, but nothing beat the service Josh provided. Recommend just for the atmosphere alone. Will be returning very soon!

We had a fantastic experience here, and it's easily one of the best spots for authentic Japanese food. The sushi was amazing, and the rice was so perfectly cooked and flavorful that it was truly "out of this world." The side sauce it was served with was a great touch. What really made the night, though, was our server. She was so kind, humble, and friendly-a truly generous person who made our meal feel extra special. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Support this local gem. Very nice staff and delicious sushi. Prices are very good as well. Perfect for kids if they like sushi. We live near by and honestly we eat here all the time. Plenty of space available and you almost never have to wait to be seated. It is tough to run a restaurant business but they are good people and we should help this business thrive.

Yanagi is a great spot for Japanese food, especially their sushi. It is a little pricey and can get a little noisy inside, but you won't mind it as soon as you start eating! Their sushi is fantastic. The normal salmon and tuna sushi is pretty good, but the fatty salmon and otoro sushi are amazing. They’re so good that I even forgot to take a picture since I wanted to eat them so bad! The fish is extremely fresh and well marbled. Definitely a must try if you're only used to "cheaper" sushi. The pork tonkatsu also is excellent. It is super crispy and comes with a great sauce. I've also had the bulgolgi, chicken teriyaki, and spicy ramen, but the pork tonkatsu is by far my favorite dish. Yanagi has great food! It's a little pricey, but well worth it and if you come during happy hour or lunch there's more affordable options.

I visited the restaurant a few times, and it never disappointed. The menu goes from beloved dishes to bento boxes, all for a reasonable price. I ordered twice for my family, the same wonderful presentation and flavors. Almost like they put a spell on the sushi pieces. I'll keep exploring the menu.

Absolutely delicious. Portions are so generous and everything is presented so prettily. Great fish quality and service. Atmosphere is softer yellow lighting and its cozy with dark wood, love it so much. Definitely try them out 💜

Been coming here pretty regularly. The food and service is excellent. My favorite is the spicy Ramen and the baked dynamite roll. This place also has fried ice cream which is my son's favorite. Oh and each time we come, the service from each of them is above excellent.

This place is one of my new favorites in this area. Pricing is decent, portions are great, food is excellent! I've never seen Ikura sushi piled that high with salmon roe! Definitely check it out if you're in the area, you won't regret it.

One of the best Sushi in South Austin, I always go there with my family or after workout in the Gym next door. They have great sashimi, great sushi combinations and amazing salad sashimi. The service is good and the place is clean .. and the consistency is always even if I order online ( through delivery apps). Hello highly recommend.

Great food, good prices, great happy hour selection too. The kids loved their food which had a big serving size. The only negative is they have these big TVs showing nonsense viral videos and every kid in that restaurant was locked in staring at them. Brings the atmosphere of this place worse than a fast food restaurant.

I recently had a great sushi experience at Yanagi Restaurant. The food here is very reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy but light is quite dim, making it a great spot for a casual. The service was also friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. Overall, we highly recommend Yanagi Restaurant for its great sushi, reasonable prices. Whether you're a sushi lover or just looking to try something new, Yanagi is definitely worth a visit!

Ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box. I’m at 1 pm and it was not too crowded. Nice inside. Lots of wood and black granite tables with gold flecks. Comfortable wooden chairs that complimented the decor. Miso soup came with it, was very good. Service was good and staff was polite. Food overall was pretty good. Bill was a bit over $14. I would eat here again.

Environment is good. Tonkatsu, chicken katsu and kids meal are good. But we probably won’t go back again. The calamari today had a very strong and bad smell. To the restaurant’s credit, they did not charge us after we flag the concern. The egg in ramen is the regular boiled egg anyone without cooking skills can make at home, instead of the nice marinated soft boiled egg Japanese restaurants typically have for ramen. Also the miso soup barely has any tofu and seaweed in it compared with other Japanese restaurants. So in general it is ok but not great.
