One of my favorite matcha places. This specifically is my favorite location out of the 4. I’m pretty sure it’s the original and since it’s a little farther away from the crowds, it’s not as busy. I highly recommend trying the strawberry matcha, mango matcha and tiramisu latte. They also have good vegan banana bread.
Cute little coffee shop with friendly staff and great coffee! It’s a small space but they do have several tables you can use to do work or catch up with friends. Will definitely be back to try the food!
Great, wide range of drink selection! I got the black sesame white chocolate latte and it was perfect. The texture was light, sweet, and a balance of flavor. There were chunks of white chocolate that settled near the bottom, but I personally liked the textural variety, though it might not be for everyone. My friend got the mango matcha and it was also perfect. Vibrant green color, sweet flavor, and fresh mango mixed in. Both did not taste artificial or seem diluted/milky. Service was fast as they keep their concentrated matcha chilled in squeeze-bottles. The atmosphere is cute and they have cat-themed trinkets and stickers around the store. I will definitely be coming back!
the best strawberry matcha I’ve had, definitely lives up to the hype. soo creamy and the flavors are balanced so well this location is the best out of all kijitora
The place was small and busy, but the service was quick and friendly. We tried the strawberry matcha latte and it was pretty good — sweet and refreshing! But the tiramisu latte? Amazing!!!! So rich and creamy. Overall, such a great find!
Solid matcha latte, amazing onigiri. Came here on a late Sunday morning. Not a lot of people, so getting a table was pretty easy. Just like everyone else at the cafe, I got the strawberry matcha latte. A tad pricey, but it was good. Though, I couldn’t tell if it was noticeably better than the matcha lattes I always get at chain bakeries and cafes. What really impressed me were the onigiris. Only $4, and they were generous with both the rice and the filling portions (1 onigiri was almost equivalent to 1 bowl of rice). What really made it work was the rice itself. It was seasoned just enough to keep every bite flavorful on its own. Simple, satisfying, and every bite was never boring. Would come back for the onigiri alone.
One of the best iced matcha lattes I’ve had (w/ oat milk). Ordered with a little bit of honey and it was perfectly balanced. The matcha has a somewhat grassy taste and is fresh and light. The shop is small but a nice place to work if you can grab a seat. Ample outlets as well.
This little shop is absolutely adorable! I tried the Iced Strawberry Matcha and the Tuna Melt, and I’d give them both a solid 10/10! My friend had the tiramisu latte, and she loved it too! I can’t wait to come back. 📸 Don’t forget to snap some photos and videos while you’re there!
Kijitora’s Graham Ave location is next-level. With a full kitchen, they go beyond amazing pastries into food that honestly blows me away. The onigiri are perfect—fresh, flavorful, and something I crave constantly. But the real star for me is the salmon croissant with their special wasabi mayo… absolutely insane. Buttery, flaky, savory, with just the right kick—it’s the kind of thing you take one bite of and immediately know you’ll be back for again and again. Add in their consistently great drinks, and this spot is an all-day go-to.
10/10, they have wifi just ask! Not a lot of seats but it’s a small place. They have a cute small gift shop and a great window for good lighting. Their matcha is super good and their latte is strong and bold!!
probably my favorite location of the two! their strawberry matcha is like nothing i’ve ever tried before and their grilled cheese is so comforting, especially in the winter!! it almost makes me want to move to Williamsburg just so i can have kijitora as my local cafe!!

Absolutely delicious. Everything is made with care. That does mean some beverages and food items take awhile, but personally I find the quality to be worth it. They make their pastries in house. I love getting an iced mocha, fresh warm croissant, and tuna mayo rice ball. 10/10 Pictured: my daughter also loves their fresh croissants

The sesame latte had the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness with the espresso shot as recommended by the staff. They also had Azuki (red bean) latte and tiramisu latte on the menu, and I can’t wait to try them out. Many of the staffs there were Japanese and the place felt like home.
Excellent matcha. We got the tiramisu latte, the black sesame latte, and the strawberry matcha. All were very good but the matcha was the best of the three. The tiramisu latte was slightly milky (but I cannot fault them given tiramisu is a fairly milky dish to begin with). I also love the logo, definitely check out if you have time.
The matcha is truly top tier, and blended really well into whatever mixture they create. The onigiri too, is really good. The only downside is the restaurants size, wish it had more space!
My FAVORITE strawberry iced matcha in nyc - it’s so delicious. The tiramisu latte is also an incredible sweet treat. I definitely recommend!
I’ve already came here twice in a week, this place is overall amazing and it’s so comfortable. I usually order the Iced strawberry matcha but today I ordered it with the onigiri tuna and I loved it!! I ended up falling asleep but they left me alone and didn’t disturb me (I apologize in advance) I had apologized to the lady and she was super sweet about it! I also had ended up ordering an iced mango matcha which is just as good as the strawberry.
i live near kijitora and visit almost every day. i love everything i’ve ever ordered, especially the miso mocha (my current obsession), their mango and strawberry matcha, and the miso salmon onigiri. i also love the little trinkets they sell. i wish it was a bigger space or at least had more seats but i love kijitora! definitely the best matcha i’ve had in nyc.

Kijitora is a cat-themed Japanese cafe. It has been a while since my last visit. Their drink menu has largely expanded. I was honestly attracted by every item, like Matcha Mango, Tiramisu Latte, and Shiso Sencha Soda. I also really enjoyed their Black Sesame Latte and Hojicha Latte. I visited their Williamsburg East location. I like this location more as it’s more spacious with restroom and seatings. They also sell some really cute cat merch (I got some stickers!). *Matcha Peach Fizz Inspired by my favorite home cafe influencer to try their seasonal matcha. I was quite surprised by the harmony of matcha and peach flavor combination. The peach flavor really came through and the sparkling soda was so refreshing for summer. *Strawberry Matcha Latte Finally tried their viral strawberry matcha. The strawberry milk base was very creamy and rich (we ordered oat milk). The strawberry purée was lightly sweetened. A good strawberry matcha but It didn’t impress me. I don’t really like the purée here tbh. My favorite is the one from Postcard in West Village (it costs $10 though).

Matcha is batched, which isn’t my preference, but I understand it’s for efficiency. Also, the strawberry matcha at this location didn’t seem as good as the ones I’ve gotten in Brooklyn, but will come again to try their different flavors! Staff and atmosphere are both great.
Personally was very underwhelmed for the hype about this spot as the 'best matcha'. It is premade in a tall glass syrup jug, poured by weight and electrically whisked. Overall thr balance of the drink is very off as it is super watery, personally was also very bland and didn't add to the drink at all.

I've enjoyed Kijitora ever since they opened but the inconsistency is bothering me especially for the price they're charging. I think the inconsistency started happening when they got popular. I usually get the strawberry matcha latte and an onigiri and they're typically good, sometimes bad but today was really the worst. I got a strawberry matcha but turned out it was oat milk with a teaspoon of strawberry and faint matcha. Each strawberry matcha cost about $9.50 and for that price I expect is consistency and a decent drink. I noticed today that the short woman with bangs making the drinks is very messy and don't measure the ingredients like they usually do just to push out the orders. The tall barista with blonde-ish hair makes the best drinks because she takes her time making sure each drink / food is good. I would say skip it if the barista is not good.
Awful customer service at Kijitora east today. Ordered a roasted Kabocha cardamom latte ( pictured) and the barista spilt the drink it all over the cup and put wayyyy too much cinnamon. She handed the dripping mess to me and I wiped it up but still couldn’t drink it because I was inhaling cinnamon! I gave it back to her saying I can’t drink this and instead of offering to make me a new drink she tried to scoop out the cinnamon and handed it back to me. I ended up throwing it out because it was disgusting. It’s the second Kijitora branch I’ve been to where service has been poor. I won’t be going here again.

I was looking forward to try this spot, but I had a horrible experience at this coffee shop. I ordered a tiramisu latte and could not taste the espresso at all, it tasted like straight milk. When I politely mentioned this to the barista, the only solution offered was to add vanilla syrup, which made absolutely no sense since the issue wasn’t sweetness, it was the lack of coffee flavor. But she said that would help & I was willing to try anything that would fix the taste of the drink. I then kindly asked if the drink could be changed or fixed, and I was told that would require placing an entirely new order. No offer to add another espresso shot, no attempt to remake it, no effort to satisfy a paying customer just “pay another $8.” As someone who frequents many coffee shops and works in customer service, this was extremely disappointing. Especially for a first time customer, this is not how you retain clients. A simple fix or remake would have gone a long way. This is the only coffee shop I’ve ever been to where disliking a poorly made drink means you’re expected to pay full price again. Definitely won’t be returning.
