Order the fish plate it’s huge. We had to wait a bit for our food we watched people come in eat and leave before we got our food. Other than that give it a try if you are driving through like me.

This place was a 4 rated restaurant. Maybe for locals because it's pretty much the only restaurant in town right off highway 90 by Batesville Texas. I wanted to chicken fried steak and like everywhere I go I have to tell them that I am allergic to shellfish. Waitress came back and said all is fried in the same oil. Keep that in mind for those of you who are also allergic. I then ordered the guisado plate. The guisado itself was good but the beans and rice were dry and not too tasty. Sad but never again. 😞

We've been wanting to try .no don't do it .chips were stale hot sauce well it was not .nachos well I could have given the jalapeno to my 2 year old grandson and he would have been ok . Cashier was ok but the food was not at all

Waited an ungodly amount of time for 3 tacos to go. I was the only one in line. Waited almost 25mins for 3 potato egg and cheese. Paid $16. Tortillas were very dry and food was below average. The only reason I believe this place is in business, is due to the lack of options. Will never return.

I went to Desi’s Restaurant and honestly it wasn’t worth it. I ordered two bean chorizo add-cheese tacos and the total was almost eleven dollars. For that price, I expected something way better, but the tacos were just average. Super overpriced for what you get. I won’t be coming back.

We stopped to have breakfast here, never again. The beans were rancid, bacon was half cooked. It was disgusting. The tortillas were not fresh. I didn't even eat my food and I told the waitress of the problem and she still charged me. I went ahead and paid the bill but lesson learned. I will never stop there again. Other patrons that were there even asked the waitress of the beans were old. So I wasn't the only person complaining.

Food has gone down compared to the last time we were there. The beef enchiladas use to be saucy and actually have cheese on top. The hamburger buns were hard as rock, the onion rings are definitely not the same! They looked like fried shoe strings- they use to be flaky and thick! Refied beans are super thick and chunky. I can only the cook from 4 years back is gone. Service could be better, lol tortilla was swung in the table, turned her head and walked off. Could have been a bit nicer.

Update: I’ve been going to Desi’s for several years. Over the past few months I’ve noticed that their food isn’t as good as it once was. They’ve either changed cooks or recipes. Their sweet tea is still awesome. Wish the food was as good. Not visiting them again. Sorry Desi’s. This place is exceptionally good. It may not look like much outside but the food is good. Friendly service and the locals that eat there are just as friendly. The burgers are the bomb! These are real beef patties and not any of those frozen pre-made you get at a grocery store. They toast their burger buns with a little grease and it is heaven. I stop by occasionally when driving through Batesville and when I don’t have time to eat I’ll grab a tea and some of their homemade tortillas. They have new clean restrooms by the way.
