Good place , clean restaurant, I’m from Miami and i moved to Texas and boy how happy to find this place . Cafe con leche and the tostada was on point . Will be coming here every morning for my coffee from now on .
My favorite cafe in Baytown. They do EVERYTHING right. Coffee? Check. Sandwiches? Check. Unexpectedly exceptional french toast. I think they make it will bollio rolls? Absolutely Sensational. Cheap and quick, every time.
Went for breakfast, had a variety of food already prepared and if you decide for a sandwich they take the order and you don’t have to wait too long and taste is good. Very pleasant and has plenty of seating.
Coffee and food was great, and the staff was amazing!
Get the steak Cuban sandwich... it's the bomb.
Had a Cuban coffee and a cortado and both were outstanding. The Cuban coffee is a double shot mixed with brown sugar. If you want a little more milky drink, the cortado is what you're looking for. Service was amazing and can't wait to go back for the food.
My new love. The crew are the absolute best. You just feel like they're family & want to give them a hug. The food is amazing. Finally, a place that can cook. My husband is trying to lose weight & the owner came out & gave him more potatoes & then asked if he wanted some more after that. Lol. I can't wait to go back. If I could, I would go again today. I love this place.
Not only is their food amazing, but the customer service is top tier. Melissa and crew always take care of us with our catering orders (a lot of the time last minute) at ExxonMobil. Highly recommend!!
I grew up around Cuban food and this stuff was the real deal! So I ordered an authentic Cuban sandwich the other day on my lunch break and it was delicious! The mustard blended well with the pickles, meats and the cheese inside, the bread was cooked just well enough so that it was pleasantly crisp and perfectly soft enough to chew. I would definitely order from here again! The staff is super friendly and the small atmosphere was very comforting. For a side I’d recommend black beans and white rice, for dessert I’d recommend the French toast bites.
My husband and I love this place. The Cuban sandwich is super good. I also get the pulled pork dinner sometimes, which is delicious! and their chicken dinner is really good. Very nice, friendly people working there. This is our favorite Cuban place to eat at by far.
They had run out of the acclaimed pulled pork BBQ sandwich so I tried the chicken platter. Everything on it was delicious! Very friendly quick service and generous portions. I'm looking forward to a return visit. Update- second visit and had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. It was fabulous!
Ordered the cafecito con Leche, cuban breakfast sandwich and an order of black beans. Food came out very quickly was hot and delicious. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or a good sandwich.
We spotted this place while trying to go to Jack in the box! I am so glad we stopped. Way better food then jack in the box! The breakfast potatoes are to die for! I don't know what latte I got. I ordered my usual from Starbucks vanilla latte and the lady said try this and if you don't like it, I'll make your vanilla latte! Best latte ever. Way better than Starbucks!!!! Try this spot !
Excellent customer service. They do a little mistake in the order but fixed in no time. Nice place to have a breakfast. Family oriented. Of course, I come soon.
This Cuban restaurant is a gem! The food is always flavorful, but what really keeps me coming back is the afternoon shift. The ladies working then are amazing—super friendly and always make you feel welcome. One of them makes the best coffee I’ve had here, way better than the morning shift, and the sandwiches in the afternoon are next-level delicious. If you’re stopping by, definitely visit in the afternoon for the best service, a perfect cafecito, and a sandwich that hits the spot!
TL:DR Smaller Location, Amazing and fast staff, Great Food, Good Price. I get a Cuban from this place every time and it is great. Coffee is Good. (Normally not a coffee person) Staff is awesome and fast here. Only problem is when it's crowded but even then they still handle it well. Recommended at least One Try. Don't sleep on this place.
The food was good. It was only breakfast sandwiches, but they were very tasty. I forgot the name of the coffee, but it was the best cappuccino I have had in Texas!! We will definitely be going back
Love having breakfast here! Good food always!
Lynn is awesome and remembers what I've ordered and is very sweet
The food was very good! The service is fast.
First time going today…OMG!!! This food is SO good!! I ordered the shredded chicken plate with yuca, rice, beans, and plantains. I will definitely be back.
Oh my God, this little Cuban Cafe is a perfect slice of heaven! Having lived in Tampa and traveled thru Florida, I cannot even tell you the joy it gives me to taste Cuban food that is made exceptionally well, This place is absolutely wonderful! I am currently in a food coma from the deliciousness! From the Ropa Vieja, perfectly caramelized plantains, An amazing pressed Cuban sandwich, and Cuban expresso to die for, this place is IT! and they have so much more....!
Love this place, don’t get to come too often but you can’t beat it if you are in the area. Meatball sub is 🤌
I love it here! The women who run this place are so friendly and kind! Service is always fast and the place is always packed. Definitely a neighborhood favorite, and the food & coffee are phenomenal! I make it a point to come here weekly to support and enjoy a home cooked meal! For all my coffee lovers the café con leche never misses!!!
I stumbled onto this place looking for a quick bite on the way to see my father in the hospital. I saw they had coffee which I needed and I had never had Cuban food before so I gave it a try. I must say it was one of the best restuarant experiences I've had in years. I was immediately greeted by the owners who were beyond friendly and eager to help me order. I ordered cafe' con leche and a cuban style breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was warm, crispy and tasted amazing. The coffee was the best I've had in the Houston area by far. Simply incredible! So good I came back a few hours later for another one! It will be a must stop every time I'm in Baytown.
Absolutely love the cafe! They have two locations, one in Baytown and the other in Deer Park. Both are pretty small inside but food is spot on! For starters if you're in the mood for iced coffee, try the iced cafe con leche, so freaking good and way cheaper than any coffee shop for the amount you get! Food wise their sandwiches are all great! The bread is light, fluffy and crispy. Some sandwiches we love are the Cuban Breakfast with any protein, and the Italian Sandwich. The Italian is our all time fav and deservingly so! What I love about it is their homemade Italian dressing, it hit the spot every time! For some sides try the potatoes (if they have any!) but our favorite are the plantains! They're cooked similarly with onions and garlic like the potatoes but instead of starchy potato you get a delicate bite that radiates garlic and onion in a soft chew. They're very good! Our go to meal is an Italian sandwich, plantains and iced cafe con leche. If you're in the area you owe it to yourself to give it a try, if only for an iced cafe con leche!
The food here is beyond amazing better than what I expected. I ordered 3 different meals one being the Cuban sandwich one being a French toast platter and the other being the Cuban breakfast sandwich which I haven’t tried yet. The Cuban sandwich was to die for there was so much I couldn’t even finish it all so you know it’s definitely well worth the price. I usually don’t eat mustard or pickles or salami but I thought I’d give this a try and I am so glad I did the meat was melt in your mouth good. The French toast platter was so much I was expecting just two little slices of bread but there is a lot more than just two little slices the potatoes are amazing too. I am also looking forward to trying the Cuban breakfast sandwich. Oh and the coffee is to die for alsoIt is definitely better and any Starbucks coffee you will ever get. I will definitely be getting more food from here in the future
Best Cuban coffee hot or iced made by Lynn with love always. She’s the best, always gives the best customer service 10/10
Hidden gem. ❤️❤️ If y’all love authentic Cuban food, you gotta check this spot out. The service there was awesome, very helpful & kind. I had the Cuban breakfast sandwich - It was huge with authentic Cuban bread flown in from Florida. Their Cafe con leche is SO good, you don’t need to add anything to it (perfect to dip the Cuban bread into). My fiancé tried the ropa vieja. He loved it and he’s pretty picky about his Cuban food. ‘They crushed it!’ If you visit, be sure to help build their dollar wall & support your local businesses. ❤️
Great food and very accommodating to modifications love the breakfast sandwich and the chicken leg quarter is a great deal with a bunch of food. Peace and love and blessings to y'all!
Delicious food, freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned and attentive staff. Highly recommend
Went there yesterday for breakfast, WOW Amazing!!! Got the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich mini with potatoes, so good! Friendly staff made it that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend!!!
Tastes like Miami . Very pleased . Enjoyed all the sandwiches we ordered. We will be back again
Had the Cubano, fried plantains, and fried Yucca. Also had a Cuban Coffee. The food was great. I love the coffee. I like it better then Starbucks Coffee. Looking for a good place to eat breakfast or lunch that is different then your normal stuff this is a Great place. A+ Service and all round experience.
Traveling through Texas and looking for a place for lunch found this place on Google Maps. Being from Miami FL a always enjoy finding a new place to try some Cuban food. Glad we found The Cuban Cafe! We enjoyed our lunch and now I am enjoying my Cafe Con Leche. My my wife has a Cuban sandwich and I had the Ropa Vieja with black beans, yellow rice, yucca and plantains. It was all very good!
First time coming to the cafe man I been missing out on this delicious food. The ladies up front making coffee and the ones from the register were very nice. I got cafe con leche mmmm 👌the break sandwich with egg, ham and cheese omg 🤤 the flavor just blows you away. I will be definitely be coming more often. Thank you for your service 😊.
The food is excellent! The restaurant is clean! The service is also excellent thanks to Lyn and the rest of the afternoon crew! Would definitely recommend!
I love the food and the coffee! And my favorite girl is of course, Lynette! Always in a happy mood! 😗
Food was delicious. We went for breakfast and I got the breakfast mini which was the perfect size for me. It came with papitas too which were delicious. The bread on the sandwich was just sooooo good. Cafe con leche was also fabulous. When you walk in you need to order at the counter and then they will serve you the order when you sit down. The girls that served us were very sweet. Atmosphere is very homey/mom and popish and I really enjoyed how small it was. This place is a gem and I can’t wait to come back for lunch next.
I haven't eaten here in ten years. I remembered it was really good. Saw this cafe featured on Eat Like A Local so I went back today. Fantastic. Casual atmosphere. Staff was super friendly. The food was so delicious. I had the Cuban pressed sandwich with a strawberry cream cheese empanada. So fresh and full of flavor. Can't wait to go back next time for breakfast.
Been here a few times , always great ! establishment always clean , food is at a good price and very flavorful. Girl in the front with the blonde hair and big glasses didnt get her name but she took the time to explain the menu , gave me options and definitely sold me with the emanadas, coffee was great . Service made me feel like we known each other very welcoming , i will be back !!
Good experience. Authentic cuban bread, staff was very friendly. I got a breakfast cuban with bacon as the protein, bacon was cooked the way I love it. Also pictured is a breakfast empanada with sausage. Food was fresh and hot. I was hoping to get a cuban with palomilla and I didn't see it as a menu option. I'll have to ask next time, will be back when I'm in Baytown for work.
Absolutely wonderful! Excellent service and they were very attentive to food allergies. Everything is obviously made fresh to order as I was able to get the chicken and cheese empanadas without cheese, as I'm allergic to milk proteins. I also ordered the picadillo plate and substituted vegetables for the rice. They did up squash and onions which was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted wonderful! This was my first visit but I will definitely be back
Stopped in for lunch. Tried the Cuban sandwich and the yucca. Both were very good. The sandwich had all the flavors I expect from a Cuban sandwich including yellow mustard. The yucca was cooked differently than I have had elsewhere. It was served boiled with spices. I really enjoyed the flavor and the texture of the Yucca. If you are in the area and you like Cuban cuisine this is a must stop place.
Genuine and authentic food dished up by the same type of people. My wife got the cuban breakfast sandwich, she said was one of the best breakfast sandwiches shes ever had. I got the 4 egg build your own omelette. It did not disappoint. It was more than I could eat. We eat got a custom coffee that were bold, sweet and hit the spot just right. We will definitely be back.
One of a few small handful of true mom and pop style dining experiences that will make you a regular. Amazing food at low prices and hands down the friendliest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We showed up just before closing and ordered the salad, Cuban sandwich, Cuban coffee and fried plantains. Everything was absolutely Wonderful. The owners came out and we chatted about food and business. Apparently some regulars will come and sweep or help clean to get some free coffee, which is proper Cuban espresso. After enjoying some I was looking for the broom. It's small but packed with flavor and demands careful sips. My first Cuban was amazing. My wife who is very picky about the authenticity of such a staple confirmed it's legitimately. Apparently the bread is imported from South Florida. They can sell you some on request. I will be returning often and without remorse. Supporting a lovely family who will feed you for a very reasonable price is something we can all enjoy.
The sandwiches shrunk and got more expensive but they are still good
The food was good in flavor. Quantities of meat was a little skimpy. Price was average to high. Service was great. The self service of beverage and chips was odd as beverage machine was behind the counter and bags of chips was different sizes and stock across store. Female restroom was ether locked or out of order. Meat slicer was dirty and stored in back of dining area. Seating was cramped. I would return.
This little spot was such a nice place for a quick stop by. Everyone in there was so nice and it gave off such a warm small family business vibe. Our food was cooked to order so it was nice and hot. It was inexpensive and you got a nice sized meal. I was so full before I could even finish! It was very tasty too and I just LOVED the bread they used. If you go don’t be deceived by the outside, definitely go in and check them out.
Love their breakfast menu. Fresh eggs and ingredients. Nice change of pace.
Great spot for a solid Cuban sandwich in Baytown. I usually order the original Cuban with yuca fries or plantains, and it’s consistently tasty and satisfying. The sandwich is the highlight for me, flavorful and well made. I haven’t explored much of the rest of the menu yet, but based on the sandwiches alone, it’s a place I keep coming back to.
Great food, authentic taste.. my only thing is a lot of stuff is overpriced in my opinion. I leave satisfied in the stomach but left wondering if it was worth it. Dont let that stop you from supporting this business, though. Hard to find good cuban food around
Basic breakfast. Cuban bread was legit. My potatoes that came with my omelet were cold, so I guess they make them ahead of the order for speed sakes. The paper menu in store is not up to date, but they keep putting more out instead of updating it. Don't order a side of meat it will cost $4 for 1 sausage pate vs $1.75 to and it to your omelet or sandwich. Was interested in lunch, but after that, I decided to keep my money.
Their Breakfast burrito is good, but very inconsistent. Sometimes it's either void of cheese or loaded with it. I can ask for no potatoes and it will come loaded with potatoes. Also, if you're gonna charge $8 for one burrito, it definitely should have more than two pieces of bacon. What worse is leaving a tip when picking up only to see they got the order wrong when I get home.
Food: I ordered the Cuban Sandwich which was good. I also purchased a pineapple drink that haven’t seen or tasted in a couple of decades. I’m not a soda drinker but I just had to purchase one and it was just as delicious 😋as I remembered it. Service: I walked in and no one else was there except two employees who were speaking to each other. I had to practically stare at one in order to get some attention. I was addressed in English but of course, as an AfroLatina, I responded in Spanish. Afterwards, I felt completely ignored especially since I was the only customer in the cafe and the employees continued to speak loudly to each other. Finally, a delivery guy showed up and it was an instant celebration amongst them. When my sandwich was ready, it was placed on the counter without a simple acknowledgement. They could’ve said something like, “ma’am, here’s your sandwich, I hope you enjoy it. Atmosphere: The restaurant was clean on the exterior and interior. The vibe was unwelcoming and therefore, I will not be returning. QUALITY customer service is key in any business.
I just wanted to come on here and complain about one specific person I interacted with Tuesday morning , she was very sloppy and didn’t really seem like she wanted to take my order . She had attitude and also was very rude after I ordered and after I exited the building , she was making comments under her breath.
The issue is the unfriendly & rude staff. They will not acknowledge you & leave you standing like you do not even exist. The staff needs customer service training & to remember the community that patronize Cuban Cafe keeps the door open & pays their income
This place is so bookie. The ceiling is falling apart. It’s messy, it’s dirty. The food can be inconsistent. I don’t understand how they don’t put any money back into keeping this place nice. It would go a long way. The way you self serve your own drinks behind the counter but are in the way is odd too.
I ordered a small order of croquettas and a media noche. The Croquettas were cold in the center and the mix is supposed to be ham? Not sure of the mix used it had a weird texture. The sandwich was not good, very dry no love, the meat literally looked like oscar mayer deli meat! If you’re hungry it will be fine. It wasn’t terrible but El Rey makes a better Cuban Sandwich and they claim to only be half Cuban! The plates looked a lot better like the ropa vieja and yuca. I will try that next time and give them another chance. Yes, for the record. I am Cuban 😊
Some of the best criolla food in texas. But these guys cant manage their restaurants. The owners niece in deer park didnt even know they served mayo ketchup, like how do you guys not even have any standards. There whole drink machine was down so we couldn't even get free refills. They were out of steamed yuca aswell which was the 1 thing I was trying to show my spouse how good it was. Then we went back to their other location and they were out of everything but sandwiches. Mind you it was an hour trip to get nothing. Absolute mindless management and I'm giving up.
