This place has really good food the spaghetti was amazing the waiter Candace is a really nice person and very kind the interior of the place is like a modern 1800s I very much recommend this place.
Brunch is good. Be warned though. There is a 3.29% upcharge if you use your debit/credit card.
Loved it Allegany County is great good people good food good place great scenery can't wait can't wait to get back down there to enjoy the scenery good food check out some Amish Goods headed down Main Street antique stores and then go to hotel and have dinner nice
What a cool place for a small town. People are very nice and helpful there. The food is great. I definitely recommend this place
I love this place! The owner and staff are very friendly and conduct themselves in a very professional manor. They have excellent Food in both the dining room and the bar. I have met some very RAD people at this place.. ♥♡♥
Fantastic Brunch, very friendly staff and a great value. The brunch options don’t get any better! Thank you and we will back again soon!
Great Experience. Wonderful food. I had the fish fry it was awesome. The full portion is huge. Definitely worth the price.
Naomi the bartender was awesome! She is a great cook also! Stephanie, the owner, very personable for out-of-towners like us!
We love this place. The breakfast buffet is totally worth going to try... Niomi is it favorite bartender/server. The food is always on point!
The Chipotle citrus BBQ wings and Asian Ginger wings were finger licking good! Coupled with some beers and an awesome bartender, Stephanie, it was a fantastic time.
Great service and atmosphere. Fish fries were great but fish with the frozen spinach lacked flavor. Love the wings
We loved it. Food was great and the service was impeccable. If we ever come back to Angelica you can bet we'll be eating here again.
The homemade chips that came with my cheeseburger were divine. Welcoming atmosphere-the owner made us feel like old friends.
Im old school. It was fabulous. Loved the soup & salad bar. Been a long time since ive been in a restaurant like this. Scott
Beer battered fish was amazing! We loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Candice was awesome!!
Great food, great service and great prices. What place brings out an old school dessert cart after your meal?! This place does!!
Great lobster dinner! Long island ice teas are the best in the area! Added bonus...it's suppose to be haunted!
UH-MAY-ZING Sunday breakfast buffet. If you are in the area and don't check this out you are missing out. Some of the best home made food I've EVER had.
I love coming to the Hotel at least once when I come home to visit family in summer. It is nice knowing there is a place where you know everyone that is there as well. From dinner with your family, drinking with friends in the bar, coming and seeing a live band, or hitting up their delicious Sunday Brunch, there is something at the hotel for everyone! The food is great, whether you are going in for bar appetizers, or are going out for a fancy dinner. The weekend dinner specials are always new, and the little touches that are put in them, make them so much more than just steak and potatoes. Almost like high end fancy cuisine, with the special home-made "homey" feel to them. I cant wait until this summer when I come visit!
Like no other rural restaurant anywhere! Incredible variety in the menu, every meal made to perfection, fabulous atmosphere and staff that goes above and beyond! My first time there was a Thursday night dinner buffet and I was hooked even before I finished dinner!
Always great service and excellent food
After not being able to go for a few years, the return was well worth it!! The food was just as delicious as I remember! Stephanie and the staff did a wonderful job and it felt like coming home❣We will be back more often now! Thank you Stephanie❣
Just returned from the Easter Buffet and the American House & Hotel In Angelica, NY. Fabulous! Delicious food, great service. Abundance of meat: Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef and Prime Rib. Soup, salad bar, and many side dish choices. Homemade Pies and strawberry shortcake for desert. Must try..."Your tongue will throw a party for your mouth"
Very quiet Saturday evening dinner. Wonderful server. Prime rib was done perfectly, I'm told. My seafood was wonderful.
Sat and ate in the bar area. Very quaint loved the atmosphere, drinks VERY reasonable, generous, food was excellent, esp sweet potatoe chips (signature item) rubin sandwich outstanding, could only eat 1/2. Owner couldnt be nicer, friendly, accomodating, cant wait to go back and eat in dinni g room try the bigger menue! You wont be sorry!
My boyfriend and I visited this place on a whim- we're from Rochester and had planned to go to Cartwright's, but their line was crazy and not budging after 20 mins and we were starving and freezing. I googled nearby breakfast places and found American House & Hotel, and we are SO glad we did! The decor is cute and small town Americana, as well as cozy and clean. We were seated immediately, and told about the brunch buffet. Our waitress (as well as the rest of the staff we encountered) was very friendly, personable and attentive. The buffet was so good- comfort food at its best, with a ton of options. It was also reasonably priced! The atmosphere was comfortable, relaxed and quiet. We really wish we didn't live so far, because we'd definitely be frequenting. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience!
The Brunch is AMAZING! The best Roast Beef I’ve had in ages. The staff was so kind and accommodating. The owner was such a doll. She made sure everyone had what they needed and even switched out choices at the buffet to accommodate family members who don’t eat pork. Thanks a million for making today awesome. You will see us at Brunch again!!
If you like the little small town bar field then this is your place. Excellent staff!! And let's not forget about the Sunday buffet.
On a day trip to Angelica NY, myself and two other drivers stumbled upon this country treat! Definitely the local "watering hole" but with a full menu! Lunch was perfect and the locals were especially nice. All in all, well worth the stop!
Good quality food at a very reasonably price. We had the Sunday brunch way too much food to try everything. Great spread mix of breakfast and lunch. Super friendly staff and very attentive. Will be going back.
Friday night fresh fish fry was excellent! The beer batter was light and fluffy, the fries were pipping hot and crisp coleslaw great not sweet. Nice stocked bar too!
Pleasant atmosphere, food excellent, service was very nice friendly . Wasn’t rushed and able to visit
Great place. Sunday buffet was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. The beef was tasty and you could cut it with a fork. All of the food was freshly prepared. Very enjoyable. Can't wait to go there again.
Breakfast runch Sunday morning was incredible. Full salad bar, omelette station. Hand carved roast beef and ham. Belgian waffles with choice of topings, pancakes, french toast, variety of potato and so much more. We were impressed and the food and service was excellent.
We have gone here off and on for the last 20 years and we have never had a bad meal. When we used to live in West Almond we would go a lot more then we do now but we went to the Sunday Brunch recently. They do not disappoint the Angelica Hotel still has the best brunch. The food was delicious with so much to choose from. We highly recommend the Angelica Hotel for a great meal and service!!!!!
For those of you who don't know, the American House and Hotel in Angelica had it's grand reopening last night... I was unable to go due to work but, I made sure that I was available tonight! Upon entering wearing my mask as per NYSDOH I was quickly seated and my drink order taken. As I looked around, it was different but still the same in ways. Gone is the famous salad bar, a big no no according to NYS, the tables were spread out giving the mandated six degrees of separation, a plastic shield separated me from the cashier, large red white and blue curtains separated the middle dining room from the back room, but other than that is was as grand as I remember. I knew what I wanted before I arrived and had placed a reservation. I ordered a “special” dinner... A king cut prime rib, but I also wanted seafood... I requested a seafood platter sans fish. Not a problem for the Hotel (as we in Angelica lovingly refer to it). I wasn't sure what was to be with the absence of the salad bar, but I should not have worried... They have replaced the salad bar with a fresh garden salad, (I ordered the house made Blu Cheese which they are famous for) and your choice of mac salad, cottage cheese or coleslaw. I ordered the mac salad knowing that it also was house made. I have had better, BUT only from my grandmother who passed many years ago, so needless to say, it was fantastic, bringing back fond memories! My king cut prime rib arrived along with four jumbo beer battered shrimp and four large scallops, and by jumbo, I am not talking about those tiny shrimps they pass off as jumbo in the supermarkets around here... They were huge, yet as tender as could be as were the scallops. My prime rib was as ordered medium rare and a polite masked waitress sat down in front of me a wonderful looking piece of meat, just the right amount of cap fat with a huge eye! The rib was Black Angus and melted in my mouth with a fantastic beefy taste accompanied with the house aujus. I was lucky enough to have a long chat with the owner Stephanie Coombes, who I have had the pleasure of both working for and called my friend for many years now. We talked about the difference in the way business is being done and impact that it has had on the bottom line... I have known Steph long enough to see the worry and exhaustion in her manor, even after being closed for 14 days due to testing positive for covid 19... The restaurant business has NEVER been easy no matter what people think. It is not a get rich quick business, just the opposite. And today's world has been hard on all fine dining establishments. The American House being one of the finest in the area! But as always, she was upbeat about the future... Steph is a fighter, always has been and will be for a long time, I am sure of that! She grew up in the business, having bought it from her father, and her heart shows in every aspect of the American house and Hotel! If you're looking for a way to support local business, and have a meal you will not soon forget, I urge you to check out the “Hotel” In Angelica NY! I have been in the business for over 40 years and, believe me this is one of the finest dining experiences you will have! Oh, and the final bill for all this, including a 30% tip, UNDER $50.00!!! A huge thanks to Steph and all who made this again, a fantastic meal!
Drove from Buffalo and it was WONDERFUL! Highly recommend the Sunday Brunch. We had such a nice time and all of the food was phenomenal. (No pictures- it was that good!!) The fresh carved roast beef was a favorite of ours. One person in our group is gluten free and she was able to find plenty to eat (fine with cross contamination/etc. nothing was advertised as GF.) Service was friendly and attentive. This place is a hidden gem! Highly recommend taking a drive down if you are from out of town. The antique shop down the road was a must see!
Wings with bourbon molasses sauce were awesome! Fish fry hung off both ends of platter and French fries delicious. Friendly banter between barmaid and customers adds to the experience! Good food for a good price! Thx will come again.
I really liked this establishment. The poor bartender was by herself on a wing night and she tried her best to keep up with the customers. I got a burger and fries and it was great. Prepared exactly how I wanted. My best friend had a chicken tender sandwich and she was very pleased with it. I had great interactions with some regulars and I had a great time. I would go back.
Just had an amazing meal with Jamison salmon and all the sides. Salad bar and potatoes.. I usually have something to take home. Not tonight. Just so good! We have been going to the Angelica Hotel for over 40 years..never had a bad meal there and Stephanie and her staff are so nice and caring.
Been here twice in the past two weeks Both times we had a great fish fry last night. Soup/Salad bar was fresh and well stocked. Nice sized piece of fish was cooked perfectly. Service was prompt and friendly. Met Steph the owner and she told us all about the history of the hotel. Definitely recommend visiting there for dinner.
I wished all restaurants are like this. Very home friendly environment. Staff are wonderful. $18.00 all u can eat brunch and made from scratch then cook it at the side table at the bar is fabulous. I suggest getting reservations especially if your party is greater than 4 people.
The food is excellent!! My compliments to the chefs, the staff and the owner. I have enjoyed their food for years. Especially the yearly holiday menu's that are offered. Whether it be Thanksgiving or Mother's Day, etc... the food and service are the best. I have worked in a restaurant, so I can appreciate all the hard work they put into ensuring that the best food and service are presented to their customers.
Wing Night is Awesome & Salad Bar in the dining room is all you can eat!!
We absolutely LOVE this place!!!! Great food... Great atmosphere.... Great and courteous down to earth service!! Stephanie and her crew are the ultimate!! Not to mention the food and the value!! Exceptional service by Carie.. Can't recommend this place enough!!!!
I've eaten at many restaurants Stateside and abroad. I'm happily surprised with the detail that has been spent on the food. It is fresh and delicious. You don't normally get such good food in a small town. Our server was excellent and the dining area was clean and pleasant. I would suggest that if you're looking for a good dining experience take the ride it will be worth it.
Went for Valentine's dinner. We all had prim rib. It was delicious, great flavor, fries and salad was all great WILL be going back . Going to try the breakfast brunch next.
UPDATE 11 MONTHS LATER: STILL the biggest and best Lobster Tail dinner EVER! The tail was sweet and succulent and cooked to perfection. Real mashed potatoes and gravy on the side as well. The Stone Soup was to die for! Look up the story behind that wonderful starter! Salad bar with delicious rolls was included with our dinners. The spouse had the Teriyaki Salmon and described it as "sublime". Stephanie, the owner goes out of her way to provide a wonderful fine dining experience at this gem spot in Angelica, NY!!! Still 5 stars here!!! ***** We came for their giant lobster tail dinner. The meal was spectacular starting with being greeted by the owner herself! She was warm, pleasant and informative. Beth our server was kind and efficient and helped these two old folks celebrate their wedding anniversary in style! Lavinia got the buffet special and raved about the lemon-pepper fish and the ham, turkey and beef, all carved to order in the dining room! The soup, salad, and desserts were all home made and were glorious! I opted for the ginormous lobster tail and homemade mashed potatoes with gravy. The tail was the largest I've ever seen and was cooked to perfection. This was the "fine dining" experience we were looking for while supporting local business owners. A wonderful historical ambience here and well worth a stop for a drink or wing or a full on top-notch meal. A wonderful gem in the quiet hamlet of Angelica, New York in Allegany County!!! 5 stars!!!
My husband and I just celebrated my birthday today 🎉🥳 with the Sunday Brunch at the American House. We really enjoy everything about it! A substantial variety of foods (omelettes, carved ham and roast beef, best ever Belgian waffles (💞) and so many additional choices), exceptional service, and non stop coffee. Love the dining area and the real tablecloths! We try to get there from Springville a few times a year and we are always very pleased. Well done, everyone! And an extra big 'THANK YOU' as my "roll of the dice", (landing a pair) entitled me to a complimentary brunch! Happy Birthday to me! We'll be back! 😋😋
Proprietor went over and beyond to help in a travel emergency, will forever be in our hearts, we are so thankful for her generosity.💓
Excellent restaurant. A $20. buffet of all you can eat food. Everything from breakfast foods to potatoes, veggies, roast beef and ham. Plenty of deserts too Our server provided well for us, a table of 11.
Absolutely best place I’ve been to in a long time. Amazing people, great atmosphere, super clean and the food was delicious 😋 Every item was super good. Thank you Great experience
Was disappointed we stopped on a day the dining room was closed but the food we ordered at the bar was great.. service was very kind and atmosphere was good as well. Brunch on the weekends sounds like a must.
We visited the hotel for Sunday brunch. We were happily surprised at the amount of different varieties of food that they had to offer us. There was pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, fresh made omelettes, sirloin tips in gravy, biscuits and gravy, fresh cut roast beef, and ham, full salad bar, soups, deserts and pastries. Very reasonable price and food was fantastic. Stephanie the owner and Pat (Stephanie’s mother) make you feel very welcome. Will definitely do the brunch again. Thank you.
We saw the American House Hotel billboard that stated worth the extra miles. Absolutely was worth the extra miles, which wasn't a bad drive. The food was phenomenal, so was the service. The staff was very inviting, even though we arrived late for the brunch we were still welcomed. Highly recommend. Will be going back again.
Went for Sunday brunch with my wife. We were pleasantly surprised by the fact that it's an actual brunch with a meat carving station with ham and roast beast. They will even make eggs to order. At $20 per person, we found it very reasonable. This was our second time there for brunch. I will not be our last. This year!
Who knew there is a five star dining in the southern tier of WNY? Had the opportunity to be taken to brunch here on this past Sunday. Phenomenal, delicious, best home cooking ever come to mind to describe my experience. The staff and the ambiance are added attractions. Go again? You bet. Can't recommend it highly enough! Pat yourself on the back Stephanie and staff ...you are awesome! Thank you for a totally awesome experience!🥰. M. Nix
Went to the S Patrick’s Day buffet last night. It was excellent! Every dish was absolutely wonderful! I have been for dinner and the Sunday brunch and it is always so fresh and delicious. The food is so good it is worth taking a drive to Angelica! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Big fan of the breakfast buffet, the owner slings up delicious homemade waffles and pancakes and everything else is simple but tasty.
Food is great.! Waitresses are super nice and very helpful. Salad bar is awesome
Nice buffet with vrry good food. It is a Sunday brunch. Waffles, carving station, omelets, salad bar and hot food bar. Some of the best beef and mushrooms I have ever had.
A brand new review with a brand new perspective!!! Went back here last night.. and I had to change my mind … the owner is one very special person!! Every single person that was there last night was collectively having such a great time!! You’d swear we all knew each other for years😌 Thanks y’all for giving me another chance 😉🤩
Broad menu from fish fry, prime rib, chicken wings, German special, tuna, chicken parm. "Famous soup and salad bar" Great, attentive service.
We had the buffet, a nice variety even had a fish selection! The roast beef is cut for you and is top notch!
The Sunday buffet offers a variety of items for a reasonable price. The Friday fish fry is a generous and delicious portion of beer battered fish. They also offer alternative preparations such as broiled fish for those seeking a healthy choice.
They had a lot of choices. It is a brunch so we went for breakfast and stayed for lunch. I will definitely be going back.
Not the best food I've ever had, they have a very nice, small salad bar, and same with the dessert table, there was definitely something for everyone... they also have a toast and bagels statuon... the Beef was very rare, and they dont really have a way to offer it more well done... I personally wasnt a big fan if the ham, it was a little sweet for my liking, I prefer a regular smoked butt or shank ham... they have a wonderful egg bar, with many options for omelets and fried eggs. Several fruit options for waffles and pancakes... Table service was good, staff was very friendly and they kept our drinks filled and plates cleared quickly... all in all, it was worth the price for the amount of options and friendly service alone! At this current time November of 2023 the price for Adults is $17.99 each, and drink (other then juice offering at the bar) was $3.00 each
Fish dinner was good. Mac salad wasnt that great. Fish is very good though. Not a family atmosphere more of a bar with decent food. Very crammed space
Food was good. LOVE the salad bar. Service was a little slow due to some holiday parties, which is frustrating but understandable. Thankfully they have a cute little area for children to play so our son was occupied, which is a huge plus. The owner was there and she is super sweet, you can tell she cares for her customers.
We had the Buffet and everything was pretty decent especially for a buffet in a small town. The tomato spinach soup, delicious, and chicken and biscuits very flavorful, and meatloaf and cornbread tasty and the carrot cake and cheesecake both were so good 😋We are actually looking forward to trying Sunday brunch sometime. Our waitress was the lady that has helped run the place I guess for many years she was fantastic.I apologize,I can't remember her name. But she is wonderful and I'll definitely get her name next time. I gave a 4 star just because I do believe some things could have been a little better but overall is a fantastic place to get a great meal. We definitely will go back.
I have loved going to this place for years. However tonight 11/07/25 about 7 pm we received some of the worst service I've had in quite some time. As we walked in the bartender the started speaking to the people walking in. When my friend jokingly stated "We haven't even been here before." The bartender stated "I'm not talking to you." With a disgusted look on her face. The service took way too long. At one point she asked if I accidentally served someone a broken glass. When I pointed out a chip in my rim (I noticed and didn't care but thought she might be taking about me. I just drank from the other side, no biggie) she took the glass from me without replacing it right away. When I asked about it I was told to "Wait my turn." We eventually got our food which was PHENOMENAL! All in all I've gone here for years and loved everything about this place every time. I just hope to not run into this bartender again.
Food was great. We went on Father's day for there Buffet they were under staffed tho waited until we were done with our first plate before waiter came to table to order our drinks...
Food was tasty and solid comfort food. Sunday Brunch features a good mix of breakfast and lunch offerings in a buffet, though items are mostly unlabeled. Good meats (turkey, ham, and beef) on offer at the carving station. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was basic but well-kept and cozy. One corner of the room features a small kids play area. Worth a stop if you are in the area on a Sunday. Good place to meet friends and family.
This is my third time in here, twice we’ve had the fish fry, and it’s been really good! Ask for extra crispy, we didn’t, and it was crispy, but our dining guest said the previous week that hers was super crispy. I could not finish all my food. They give you salad and soup bar first and you could fill up just on that. So plan on taking a lot of your food home, unless you’re a big eater. I love to come right when they open so that the salad bar is super fresh. They start serving dinners at 4 PM. If you happen to be in the area early you can stop in to the bar and get a drink, then go sit at four p.m. Their soups tend to be really good. Both times I’ve tried both of the soups. Their salad is just iceberg, would love some different greens in there; hint, hint, hint.
Service is friendly, super slow! Food was ok from what I had They put toys in the seating area so my 7 and 2 year old wanted nothing to do with breakfast. Not the smartest idea.
We went for Sunday brunch. Everything was of good quality and tasty. But be for warned to use cash or pay a non cash adjustment fee..........in this day and age of plastic money it certainly seemed back woods
The food was good but cool. Hard to keep that much food hot. Nice staff and owner was friendly. Enjoyed the visit.
It was pretty late when I got there but seemed good vibes. Plus good mixer of drinks hats go out to beauty behind the bar
Very nice inside and has an extra psrking lot next to it for more parking when busy. The food is good and I love d the choices that they had for the buffet. My only problem was my fakily and I thought it was little pricey. $15 per adult for the buffet. Not horrible but not the cheapest either, especially for someone who doesnt eat much.
Food was excellent, but pricey. Service was excellent, atmosphere is shabby-elegant. Unexplained ‘Fee Charge’ of 3% added to tab. Website is very out-of-date, neither price range nor hours posted are currently correct.
I've been going to this restaurant for about 30 years. The nerve of the owner to start charging people for using their credit card. Talk about "nickel and diming" people. The quality isn't great to begin with. The final straw is the fact that no one informed me of a "FEE" that was added to my bill for using a debit card. Credit companies charge businesses for using their services. That charge should NEVER be imposed on the guest. I'm appalled and disappointed. I'll be going elsewhere for dinner.
In an attempt to be extremely Fair considering what most small businesses have gone through and attempting to reopen and conditions that no one ever has had to deal with before our single biggest problem was the service.while the staff was polite and courteous, they were stretched thin even w limited patrons. French onion soup was too salty but our entrees were excellent. We found out afterwards that the majority of the staff were brand new or pulling double duties elsewhere in establishment. We will try again soon hoping that this legacy will overcome these trying times.
Apparently they were not expecting patrons for dinner at 4:30 as there was only one waitress on. She was very pleasant, but obviously overwhelmed. The food was hit or miss depending on what you had. The poutine was good, as was the fried cauliflower. The salad bar was very good, as was my husband's prime rib. My broiled shrimp were way over cooked and fairly tasteless. The beef on weck had some sort of very hot spice on the roll, which made it impossible to eat. My grandson 's grilled cheese was okay. Not the worst meal we have ever had and not the best. Would I make a special trip to come here, probably not.
Nice place to eat, headed back home to Pennsylvania and needed some food before hitting the road again. Took a little time for the food to come out. I had the Phlly cheese wrap and my husband had beef on wick. Very nice proportions, food was good and would stop here again when in the area.
I have had two experiences with this place. One for thanksgiving in the large parlor which was a very nice experience. Everything was kept up with at the buffet and I had no bad experiences with the waitresses or service. I went to the bar side for chicken wings on a Thursday months later and the food was good. Service was okay at the very best.
The restaurant seating area is more like a VFW than a comfortable dining place. As our waitress was nice and the staff friendly, I was very taken aback with their food portion. I ordered fried sea scallops for $18.99 and received 7 scallops and a tiny sprig of parsley on the plate. The accompanying salad bar was very small and appeared to be better suited in a fast food restaurant. When it was time to leave, I was shocked that the waitress asked each member of our party how many beers we each had. There was only four of us! The food tasted okay, no wow factor though. I surely won't dine there again.
This experience is one of those experiences where the potential does not meet expectations. The restaurant is located in a pretty little town that looked like it has been plucked straight out of a painting. It looked good inside and looked busy. The owner came and greeted us and was so friendly. She was so proud of her heritage and had a great introduction with us. We had high expectations. The server, on the other hand, had this unpleasant tone. She did not say anything wrong, but the tone said it all. It was a large menu and we took our time to decide what to eat. We asked several questions, and all our questions were answered. Yet the discomfort was palpable. Most of the entries came with soup and salad bar. People scuttled away from us when my wife and daughter went to get soup. You could hear snide remarks. Clearly, someone from a different color was not being welcomed in the town. We looked past it. The food taste was average. Spaghetti was overseasoned with oregeno and had this bitter after taste. Portion sizes were generous. The soups was not the best, but decent. Salad bar was good and there were multiple dressings to choose from. We asked for some lemon to put on the fish we ordered and were served badly cut peices only fit for a lemon water dispenser. We finished our meal, and made our way out as fast as we could. I urge the owner to have a talk with her server.
We just walked out. There were two people sitting at the bar and no one behind it. We stood there for 10 minutes looking at a menu but no one even said hello
Terrible service, food and more. Waited and waited for service. Food cooked well done when not ordered that way but waitress insisted I did. Never again. Overpriced.
The Sunday buffet is definitely not worth the money, and they dont let u order off the menu on Sundays. Also, drinks didn't arrive until after we were done eating!
We waited and hour for two drinks and an appetizer that we had to cancel. The food was bland and the service, including from management left a lot to be desired.
Went for dinner..not crowded..took 1 hour to get our dinner..absolutely ridiculous..hostess kept telling us how busy they were..which was not true...ruined our evening to meet somewhere else with different people..I will go back to the bar..but do not have the time to wait for the food!
Went there with another couple on August 26th for their Sunday brunch. We were all disappointed. There was no one at the craving station. We had to call some one over when we wanted some thing. The beef was tough, we had to put our plates on another table because no one came to pick them up. Short staffed? I could go on and on. Won't go again.
A bartender named Niomi took my call and was rather rude. Sounded as if placing an order was inconvenient for her and she didn't want the business. Her attitude was even worse in person when I picked up my food. Not too mention she charged me full price instead of the deal on wing night. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. That's probably why there was only two people in the place and they were shooting pool.
This is the first time back for the Sunday brunch since you remodeled. We were seated promptly. However NEVER had a waitress come to our table and ask if we wanted anything to drink or anything. They would grab the empty plates as they walked thru…and still never asked if we wanted something to drink or how is everything…Very disappointed … then had to wait at the register for our bill because they never brought one…and lastly -what is a fee charge of 3%???
I have been dining at the Angelica Hotel for thirty years and have enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. That is, up until my last four visits. My waitress has been Cheryl and she has been a large reason for my bad experiences. When I, have problems with my order I bring these issues to Cheryl’s attention and she gives a half-hearted apology but never offers to replace the problem side or reduce the price of the meal. The last meal I had there the mash potatoes were so runny I could have used a straw. Still, no offer to replace the side, only a half hearted apology. Also, I often have to wait until the check comes to inform the waitress of any problems. Once I get my meal, Cheryl disappears until it’s time for the check. It would be nice for her to check if everything is alright. This lack of service is not what I have become used to at the Angelica Hotel. I work hard and enjoy a relaxing meal to unwind. These bad experiences have made me rethink my restaurant choices. Whether this is one waitress or a restaurant wide change, I don’t know but I thought you should know. After 30 years, these bad experiences have lost you a customer.
The owner/ hostess was so warm that we thought place will live up to it's reviews. All the servers in the restaurant were to put mildly rude, to be accurate were racist I wish they were not. I spoke to a few while asking for things around the salad bar. Our server Sheryl was a class apart in rudeness. She was almost yelling at times and I thought I was the only one who was seeing it. But my family confirmed the same that she was being very unnecessarily rude. The owner/ hostess has employed these people. She must know their behavior. I would like to talk about the food too. It was under seasoned. Or over seasoned. My sons spaghetti and sauce was bitter, it had too much oregano. I ordered the fried fish and when I asked for more lemons I felt they probably were on the floor before they were served as they were dirty. I lost all appetite after that. My side of Alfredo pasto had curdled sauce. My other child's broiled fish was the only thing that we all as a family thought was good on menu. My husband's Florentine looked good but did not taste as well. Over all I would give it a miss if you can keep your hunger on back bench for fee miles. The deserts looked great but by the time we could come to desert. I just wanted us all to be out of the negative energy that people in that place spewed on us.
