Nice little taqueria! Tacos were pretty full for their size, guacamole order had a healthy portion of guacamole and chips. Margaritas was tasty. Service was impeccable, Emily did a great job of serving drinks/appetizers without being pushy on the main dish order. Kudos to Ghost Pepper too, it was our anniversary and they gifted us an order of churros! Very kind! We will be back!
I’ll start this review by saying how much I love Barrio. But, my wife and I decided to give this place a try tonight. And- wow, I’d so glad we did. Every part of our meal was quality. We ordered a margarita flight ($3 off on Thursdays, I think). They were great. We ordered some chicken tacos. They were so good. The flavors were deep and the meat was very high quality. The chicken was much better than Barrio (and remember- I LOVE Barrio). We ordered chips and queso. The chips tasted freshly made. Finally, we ordered nachos. If we came back, my wife and I would consider only ordering this and margaritas. We ended up only eating half. I’d definitely recommend. We’ll be back.
Amazing! Super clean! Service is well above par. The food is simply stellar. Reservations are highly recommended and sometimes required. I have tried all but 5 menu items and they were all enjoyable. I am not one that can handle spice and my husband can’t get enough spice the ghost pepper tacos were on point for him! I truly highly recommend this restaurant, it is quaint, personable, clean and very delicious! Keep up my the great work!
Everything was great! Our server was a sweetheart. Food came out in great time and was delicious. Margarita flights were awesome, love getting to try all the different flavors. Warning, if you can't handle the heat, I don't recommend anything with the ghost pepper seasoning on it, there's not much flavor, only pain haha
I love this place. The margaritas they have are dangerous but go perfectly with the Ghost whisperer tacos 🌶🌶🌶 the Ghost peper dust on the marinated chicken can be served on the side if you're not feeling brave. Pro tip* Try and order 1 with the double DEEZ shell.
Came for the tacos, left for the Margaritas. We were here for Taco Wednesday and I ordered the Korean, Mexi and Barbacoa. All three delicious and well portioned. The Margaritas stole the show! My flight had the blueberry lemon, orange habanero and peach jalapeno, which was my favorite. Our server Jenna was wonderful. I recommend you try Ghost Pper Taqueria!
Went here for the 1st time for our Anniversary!! The marg flights were powerful, flavorful and fresh! The tacos i had were delicious and barbacoa was flavorful. Hard shell taco was crispy and flaky fresh! April was very informative and took the time to talk about her favorite marg and tacos! Will definitely be back to try other options and hope April is working. She was busy, but treated us right! Wednesday is $4 mix and match tacos and $3 off marg flights!!
This restaurant feels like a speakeasy-style hideaway when you enter through the door. The atmosphere here is a place where you can enjoy a nice meal and have some really good margaritas. There's not much on the menu but I suggest giving it a try, you never know you might like it.
Hands down top 3 of my taco favorites!! Service is always quick and friendly. I enjoy sitting at the bar and having great conversation with the staff or the regulars! I've had almost the whole menu and nothing is short of incredible!! See you soon!
Amazingly delicious margaritas!! I ordered the chicken fajitas burrito and it was huge!! The chicken was tender and veggies soft and yummy! This was our first time here and we loved it! We will definitely be back soon!!
So this is a hidden gem in berea! I loved the small quaint setting. Decorations were fun and modern. The drinks were so yummy. I had a marg flight for 15$ that's crazy! Also any kind of tequilla you could want I'd there. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Our server was friendly and came to our table the perfect amount of times. All and all fun dinner spot, it's a must
This place is great! Went on a Saturday night during Restaurant Week, so the place was packed. It was going to be a 45 minute wait but the owner came to the front and made us room at the bar right away. Super accommodating and very nice lady. The margaritas are amazing. I’m always nervous Bubbvored margaritas bc they’re always too sweet. Not at Ghost Pepper! Delicious. The queso portion was huge. It was very good, although admittedly not a big queso fan. I prefer guac but my partner wanted queso. I got the Bubba (shrimp). The shrimp could have been seasoned more, but it wasn’t over cooked like you’ll often find at taco places. If we didn’t order an app, I would have still been hungry from an entree alone. Thankfully their app choices are on point. Will definitely be here again! Well done.
Last night we ate at ghost pepper Taqueria for the second time. We had an excellent experience both visits. The food was great. The service is very good and the atmosphere is so cozy and cute. Love the different margarita options! It’s a great place to take pictures too and it just has a warm, welcoming vibe….we really like this restaurant and we will be back. Thank you.
The food here is really good. I love the margarita options, try the jalapeño cilantro! You’ll love it! It’s a really cool taco place. We loved the tacos that we got, we tried the pollo and bisteca.
The most amazing margaritas I’ve ever had! Their Macho Nacho is the best, Korean taco is my fave, Ghost Whisper is my husbands. And you have to leave room for the fried ice cream! Perfect date night! ❤️
Food can out in a decent time fresh and hot. That gave my fiance a free cake Alice since it was her birthday, they made sure that I had a great experience and I did.
We love this place. The food is great and the hand crafted margaritas are delicious! If you haven't been here yet, you gotta give them a try!!
Awesome vibe and delicious food!!! The bartender was super friendly and efficient. Get the queso app with chorizo and definitely the fried ice cream for dessert!! 🍨🤌
I had perfect service and the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable! The flights of tequila were top notch and the price was excellent!!
Great service, dangerously good drinks, and if you're brave check out the ghost taco's!
Went here for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back! We had the seasonal guacamole (cranberries, goat cheese and walnuts) and it was excellent. We shared several varieties of tacos (all on soft corn shells) and the flavor combinations/textures were perfect. Everything tasted super fresh and the food arrived quickly. So happy to find this little gem and looking forward to coming back again soon!
Awesome margarita flights! The food is to DIE for, literally. Those ghost whisperer tacos had me feeling like I was about to melt into a puddle of spice and tears. Worth it though, 100%. Definitely one of my new fave restaurants! Also, Chris is the best. We love having him as our waiter every time we go.
We absolutely love ghost pepper and have had nothing but fantastic service and food every time we go! We have been regular customers since their opening and will keep coming back. Jessica has been our bartender most every time and is always welcoming, attentive and makes the overall experience very enjoyable. The tacos are unique, fresh and consistent. Honestly our favorite hometown place to go!
A friend and I tried this place last weekend, and we will definitely be coming back. The place was clean and the food was good we got the nachos as a appetizer and it was a larger portion size but we weren’t complaining lol. They were very busy but our bartender made sure to check up on us and the food came out in a timely fashion even with the rush. Our only complaint was the churros were lacking cinnamon and sugar, they was barley any on them. But the fried ice cream was amazing. I would recommend giving this place a try!
Had to give them a try, sooo worth it!! Staff attentiveness was stellar, this is with two front of house and cook. While not overly crowded there was a fairly good sized crowd, the two servers/bartenders made everyone feel welcome and service was off the hook. Had two different taco selections one spicy, it is spicy and one just different. They got spicy and the flavors of both selections should make the cook proud. Had a margarita flight, let the server choose what I was drinking, served me spicy and cooling. Who knew I’d love a jalapeño margarita? Had a house margarita which was also really good. Highly recommend, quality is great, prices are fair and staff is amazing. Will be back. Thanks y’all!!
Fantastic spot in Berea! So happy we were introduced to this place by our friends. The appetizers, tacos, and drinks are amazing. The mexi taco is our favorite. Something we found out is you can get any taco in a bowl if you ask for it. Definitely enroll in their VIP program, it's free! You get to spin the wheel when you reserve and mention that you're included. It's a fun experience spinning the wheel. If you haven't noticed by now, this place is our favorite spot!
What a great place! My Cadillac margaritas were some of the best around. Food was great, I sampled 3 different tacos between the table and not one disappointed. I’m already counting down until I can get back there. Oh and they have fried ice cream, need I say more?!
This place is the definition of a 'hidden gem'. I been here a few times, everytime it's been great. First off the place is rather small, it feels like a speakeasy. The drinks are awesome, the margaritas made with their homemade sour. They have a lot of flavors, I recommend the black raspberry. The tacos are good as well. I've had the same bartender, Jessica, everytime I've been here, and she's great.
This place is really cool, has a neat atmosphere, interesting lighting. But the food!!!! OMG the chicken fajita burrito is one of my favorite meals anywhere, it's so good I can't stop ordering it even though I want to try the rest of the menu. Big time recommend.
Everything about this place is amazing. It's not huge, so you don't usually have to wait too long, Wednesday has some absolutely amazing deals, and the Ghost pepper tacos are amazing. It was a perfect blend of amazing flavor and tongue burning spice. I will definitely be making frequent visits
WOOOOOWW. All I have to say. This place was phenomenal! I!! don’t know what else was better. The food or the service. Jess at the bar was amazing. Margaritas were top tier, probably the best I’ve had. I recommend the jalapeño cilantro, spot on. Queso was perfect (piping hot, never happens anywhere). And the tacos were super tasty. WARNING: if you get the ghost whisperer you may die lol, super spicy couldn’t take more than one bite. But everything was on point. Will most definitely be coming back, such an exceptional atmosphere and staff.
Started off with the Aloha Karen cocktail, was absolutely delicious! The salsa is fresh and has tons of flavor! Tried the Korean taco and the Bistecca - both were well seasoned and had distinct flavor, the Korean was my favorite. Definitely recommend this place for both cocktails and food!
Been here twice with my wife and friends. Love the nachos and love the chorizo tacos. Ghost Pepper dust is no joke! My friends really enjoyed the margarita flight. We will definitely be back!
Great food including two nights with happy hours. The taco menu provides different options from the usual fare, huge nacho appetizer, classic and flavored margaritas are excellent, with flights available. Friendly staff.
We had a great experience tonight at Ghost Pepper! The server was friendly and took his time explaining the menu and the excellent Wednesday specials with some spot-on recommendations! The food and drinks were quite tasty and varied enough to please any palate. The spicy pickle margarita was an unexpected hit! Tacos were innovative and well-crafted and we were able to enjoy a unique atmosphere that was fun while still being quiet enough for a good dinner conversation. We will absolutely return for the flavor and friendly staff! What a gem!!!
Finally made it to the Ghost Pepper for a maragrita flight on national margarita day! And It was excellent! Cool Ambience, very chill. Good place to take a date. Nice size glasses with great flavor options. I tried the blueberry lemon/strawberry basil/ black raspberry. They were strong too! We also ordered the Taquitos, and they weren't good to us. No flavor and chicken was very dry in them . Waitress did credit the bill and that was nice of her. I'm definitely going back to try the tacos on Wednesday. There half price! There Weekly specials rock! Nice place! 👌🏾
I deleted a bad review I left here and replacing it was a good one. They addressed a serious issue with their old Hard Shells, and the new ones are much better, thank you!. The Food was good. Their Queso Blanco is 10/10. I got their Ghost Whisper Tacos on both visits, and holy smokes do they pack some heat. I'm talking, eyes tearing up, nose running, feel-it-the-next-day hot. Not for the faint of heart. Their new shells are super crisp and crunch loudly when you bite into them. Defiantly not Old El Paso. I will say that the Double Deez style is tasty, but kinda overpriced. Its $4 extra per order for hard shells, and a smearing of queso and Guac. You pay extra for Guac at Chipotle, but its a heaping scoop. The Staff were cute and friendly. The Atmosphere is nice with the red and black branding from the logo, to the decor, to the napkins. The Mural is the back would make a great tattoo. They could benefit from kind of fans though. There was no circulation and we were sweating before our food came out.
I got two different types of tacos. (Al Pastor & Korean) both were very bland but not bad. Just very middle of the road. Also no chips & Salsa served. Everything comes a la carte. At least the tacos or a burrito. Nothing on the side (beans&rice)
A nice atmosphere. The red aura is pretty cool. Service was a bit erratic but ended on a high note. Multiple apologies about moving slow were unnecessary as the pace was perfectly acceptable. Salsa and queso are nice starters with no lack of chips. Ghost whisper taco was balanced yet spicy. Pork taco was flavorful. Margarita flight was a nice treat. 2 of us shared one and it was cool to try a few different flavors. I would return to try the nacho app and get the ghost taco again as they are quite enjoyable.
We went with our niece. The atmospheres pretty awesome. The drinks are incredible. The food was good but I got a bowl and it was so much rice with very little toppings. The dish had 3 peppers next to the name meaning very hot. But I didn't think it was hot at all. Mybhusband got mad because I said I wanted to ask for hot sauce. It was good, but I think next time I'd do something besides a bowl with way too much rice.
drinks were amazing!! food was pretty good! unfortunately my husband got a hair in his bowl & it just ruined the rest of our appetites after that. they did offer a new bowl, but still charged us full price for his food & have a half-hearted “so sorry about that” which just made me sad :( we’re hoping if we go back it’s better!!
Pictures are deceiving, online it seems more like a restaurant but it’s more like a bar and it has a musty smell in there. Their rice is boxed rice & taste like water , their chicken is brown and looks like pork almost. Their drinks are way too sweet and there’s really nothing Mexican about this place. The service was fast and the waitress was very welcoming but it was not what we expected :(
Disappointed. Brussel sprout appetizer tough, no taste. Salsa watered down? Should try making it "homemade". Chips were good (had to ask for those). Tacos did not have seasoning or Mexican flavor. Reasonably priced. Bar staff great!
Okay so the food was pretty good. The service not so much. We had the bartender Jessica and I’m not sure if it was because she was busy, but her attitude absolutely sucked at the beginning. For us to drive 40 minutes to try this place out, and it being our first time there, she could have been more polite. Eventually she was okay, but that was the only negative thing about our experience. Would we come back….. yeah I think so, because again, the food and drinks were pretty good and once the bartender got over whatever it was she was going through, her attitude got a lot better. I took 2stars off because of that, otherwise I would have gave it 5!
Our 3rd time trying this place in the hopes I'd change my mind. The lighting is cool and all but... the food and drinks are not worth the price. My shrimp tacos (flour tortilla) were absolutely dripping with liquid which was an immediate turnoff. I don't like soggy sandwiches or tacos and this definitely was a mess. The queso with chorizo was tasty, I'll give it that. Pineapple margarita was fine but.. I think I'll still with other places for my Tex Mex fix.
Tacos were just OK, each are a good portion but the meat could be more flavorful. The el pastor was just pernil/ shredded pork. Did not have the traditional el pastor seasoning. The salsa was great, very fresh. The margarita flight was the best part.
This would be a great place for the appetizer portion of a progressive dinner if you got the queso, which was thick & delicious. The margaritas were like the ones I make at home from scratch - delicious. The salsa was the most bland salsa I've ever had - we added TONS of salt, but it seemed to be missing some spices, particularly cumin. The tacos were edible, but also pretty bland - and I don't just mean hot spiciness that they say they will add if requested. Flavorful but mild tacos exist - just not here. I lived in Arizona for 7 years. I don't really expect a taco joint in the Midwest to compare - but their website says, "We have traveled around the U.S.A. getting inspiration from some of the best taco and Mexican joints that we could find." So... I was pretty excited, then disappointed. Response to GP: I'd be willing to try one more time to see if it's different. But I just assume that the food is a Midwestern interpretation of Arizona-Sonoran cuisine. I remember once overhearing an Ohioan visiting Arizona say that the salsa was too spicy for them - but it was a mild salsa. 🤷♀️
Edit 6/28/2023: The bartender Taylor gave me the worst service I've ever had. She was not friendly to me or the couple next to me when we were seated, she didn't tell us the specials, she didn't check back to see how my food was, and she never came back to offer me another drink. She was much more concerned with over-serving her own friends at the end of the bar. When so many places sell good tacos, why go somewhere with bad service?
I was so excited to try this place as I know a few animal rescues have used it and frequented it. Needless to say, I was so disappointed. The margarita flights were just mixes and the tacos had very little flavor. Today I am currently dealing with the repercussions of food poisoning and so is my friend. This was my 40th birthday weekend and now, this is currently how I’m spending it. Never will I go here again.
Made a reservation 2 days in advance for a low table here as we wanted to go with our little kid. When we got there, they only had high tables, and despite low tables being open our reservation wasn't honored. Cool looking place though.
