Checks all the boxes: Bacon, egg, and cheese on everything Fresh-squeezed orange juice Snapple fruit punch Salt bagels Decent coffee Nice staff
Nice family-owned bagels for good prices. They have a lot of variety, and the bagels themselves are very soft and chewy. They are always extremely quick with their service.
Very nice! Only two staff members when I arrived and placed a large order. They were grateful and did amazing to fulfill my order in a timely manner while taking care of walk-ins as well. Great bagels and bagel sandwhiches, with both vegetarian and vegan options. Great customer service.
I stop by here a lot before heading off to work in San Francisco. The owner is really nice, and if you go often enough, he remembers your order so that he beings making what you want right as you walk in. Also, there is a HUGE variety of drinks to choose from here, as well as fresh fruit. The service is extremely fast and I'm in and out with my order in less than 3 minutes every time.
Quick and conveniently located near downtown Berkeley Bart station ! The owner is super friendly and they will remember your order if you go there on a regular. The bagels are fresh and yummy. There are lots to chose from.
Been coming to this place for years then they moved to the current location and I still been going out of the way to get a bagel from them. Top notch food and family that runs this is the nicest
Great bagel breakfast sandwiches and good schmear flavors. The bagels are fresh and soft, not quite as chewy as the east coast bagels but much better than chain bagels.
This bagel shop has great bagels. They also have quick service if there’s no one there. The pricing is really good for being in such an expensive area.
Great bagels! I go here multiple times a week. Extremely fast service so be ready to order. Could use a little more cream cheese on some of the bagels. Overall favorite bagel spot in Berkeley
I have been coming to Bagel Street Cafe in Berkeley for 10 years now and it is consistently my favorite bagel sandwich. I used to buy lunch here multiple times a week while attending grad school at Cal and now have to make it a point to visit when I’m in town. Their sandwiches are piled so high with Turkey an delicious veggies including sprouts, cucumber and pepperoncinis which you don’t often get at other places. The bagels - in a huge range of flavors - are also delicious just with cream cheese! And the owners are so kind - they still remember me even though I’ve only come a handful of times per year for the past 5 or so years. Can’t say enough good things about Bagel Street Cafe!
Delicious little bagel joint with friendly staff and delicious food. Service was extremely quick and efficient. I got the egg special and it was great with all the breakfast staples inside.
Wow! This place is amazing. If it wasn’t for the 2k+ mile drive I would be here every day. I had 3 different bagels and each was better than the last. I think I liked the Asiago one best but there are so many I didn’t try. Also, I just had the best breakfast croissant of my life. Such a good croissant but the egg, bacon, and cheese were perfect too. The beverages are outstanding as well!! I had pretty close to the best caramel latte and Chai I’ve ever had. The owners are really helpful, friendly and talented, please support this local owned business! Seriously become a regular here for me so I can live through you!!
Fast service with great quality. It was my go to when I needed breakfast or something fast to eat.

I've been here twice and loved the food both times! The fillings are always tasty and the vibe of the place is nice. The bagels are kind of pricey but worth it to try if in the area.
Bagels are fresh and light. Price is good and service is really fast. Not much else to add, just a really good experience
Was a regular for many years, great sandwiches, super kind people, and quick service

Great service, very friendly even though it was busy and i didn't know what i wanted. I got a meat lovers bagel and large mocha. And a very delicious cinnamon roll. The mocha was descent the bagel breakfast sandwich even though the ingredients were basic, it was exactly what i needed to start my day. A great place to stop to get breakfast or a snack.
Pretty good bagels and coffee. Good selection of bagels and tasty. Pretty tight space for seating. I'd hit this mom and pop shop over SteezyBeezy any time. Bathroom is kinda sketchy but fairly clean.
We stopped into refuel after a Cal Bears game. There was a huge variety of bagels and fillings to choose from, service was prompt and the fillings super generous and full of fresh ingredients. Great feed and great value!
Great bagels, but damn they're kinda rude and hostile ngl. Edit: I've returned to this location about five times after writing this review, and the same people have actually warmed up a lot. I don't know if it's because the semester was ending, but this is great to see. Seems like they listened to my feedback.
Their bagels are fresh. Their bagels are light and fluffy. I went in with my mother today and we bought 7 bagels total. We will be going back tomorrow to buy bagels again.
Been going to bagel street for the past 7 years with my buddy. We always get the pizza bagel which is always super good. To be honest the service and environment has really gone down hill and the prices increasing it’s a bit disappointing. Anyway I still love this place give it a try if you can when you’re in Berkeley!
at this point this is a berkeley institution!! the club eggwich was good, the coffee was pretty darn bad. these bagels aren’t remarkable by any means but this is a good place overall. the staff are very fast paced so know what you want to order when you are talking to them. in total i paid 14+tip for a club eggwich and a large coffee. EDIT: I returned and got the eggwich with sausage which was about as good as the club eggwich. EDIT: I returned yet again and ordered the eggwich club (sausage, cheese, egg, avocado) on an asiago bagel—it was good and i brought my own container of chili oil to eat with it (great decision). the staff were very friendly today!
Glad this part of Berkeley has a good bagel shop. They have the standards here but try something different like the Pesto Bagel which my daughter likes. Lots of good options. Service is pretty quick. Very limited seating here so plan to eat it to go.
Looks like a popular haunt among the locals. They have a huge selection of bagels and service is very quick. Liked the pesto bagel - a unique combination which made for an interesting breakfast. You can customize a lot here.
It might be simple, but this is by far my favorite place to get breakfast in Berkeley. I’ve been here many times and often bring a friend— good atmosphere, fast service, and delicious bagels. The everything bagel is definitely the best imo, but the pumpkin and cinnamon bagels are great too if you prefer sweet foods.

The service is quick and good. All staff was super friendly! I got the deluxe eggwich on an Asiago bagel. The bagel itself is good, but the egg is very bland. Overall, it’s okay but I recommend bringing your own condiments to add flavor.

For a place that charged me more money for a sesame bagel with cream cheese than I’m willing to admit, I will not be returning. I don’t think I have ever felt so disrespected upon opening my bagel and seeing how little cream cheese they had spread on my bagel. It was as if the cream cheese was the embodiment of lacroix. If social norms and fear of arrest wasn’t a thing, I’d jump the counter and spread it myself.
Been going to the Cupertino Bagel Street Cafe for the last 5 years so when I saw one was open in Berkeley I got excited. The one in Cupertino every time has had fresh bagels so when my wife and I received bagels that were B grade at best we were disappointed. Wondering if they just happened to be leftovers from the morning we came back a 2nd time this weekend and they were C grade at best. Will be going to Noah's bagels when in Berkeley from now on.
bagels are soft and fresh but the eggwich i got with cheese was so bland. i could barely taste the cheese and there was nothing else on the bread so it was rather unsatisfactory
11 usd for a bagel with a microwaved egg (literally in front of you) and 1 slice of salmon is pretty savage. The bagel itself is good though. The service is rough.
Poor service. I asked if they could wrap my sandwich halves separately since I’d be sharing it, and they refused! The bagels are fine. Expensive for what you’re getting. I wouldn’t come here again.
I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and the quality was very low. Egg patties were heated in the microwave and the bacon was super thin and skinny, like precooked Hormel. The sandwich lacked salt and flavor. The only saving graces of the place were that I could use their restroom and the sandwich was light and airy as opposed to heavy.
I ordered a ham egg cheese sandwich. Though it is quick, the egg is bad. I guess it is only yolk in it. And the overall quality is not good as well. The staff attitude is not very satisfactory. Not recommended.
DO NOT COME HERE! If I could give it zero stars I would! HORRIBLE service and extremely RUDE owner.
I went there today and purchased three bagels. To be honest I was not impressed at all. If my business was focused on bagels, I would like to think I would make some Pretty damn good bagels. I would rate 3 out of 10.. also did not have the best service.
Less than a 1/3 tsp of onions on this tasteless dried out bagel dog was an additional $1.00 plus tax. I was not informed of this additional charge and I unable to even bite through the tough breading. Cute kid was on the floor staring at two screen so I just just chalked it up as a contribution to the hardworking family or I would have refused it. Live and learn.
Im just a Doordash guy this time but but I also work in restaurant as a supervisor and costumer service.. I can see this place there 0 costumer service.! The lady really bad attitude she is no using gloves to touch the bagel after touching duty container in the kitchen..
If you enjoy getting yelled at then this spot is perfect for you! I genuinely don’t write reviews, I worked in costumer service before, so I know how annoying costumers can be especially during rush. I’m not entitled to a greeting/smile I don’t really care I’m only here for a bagel but somehow I got a bagel with a side of aggression. They are soooo mean genuinely makes it challenging to order when you’re getting eye rolls and screams. Also, I saw a guy handle the register (touching cash/cards) and go back to making bagels with no gloves or wash his hands?! If you like the bagels, this chain has other locations around that have incredible service.
Traveled very far to visit lady at the counter was VERY RUDE. walked out. Will never go back.
We (my mother and I) were visiting Cal on a college tour. I ordered the pizza bagel, which was ok, and she ordered a bagel with egg and some other toppings. The eggs were supposedly scrambled, but they just poured watered down pre beaten eggs from a jug into a plastic container, then microwaved the container and the eggs. In total it was almost $18. Then we sat down at a table and there was water on it, so I went to the counter to ask for a napkin. The woman said “on your tray” without looking at me so I asked again, trying to specify it was for the table and not me. She yelled “ON YOUR TRAY” and walked back into the kitchen. Overall, the service was horrible, the food was mediocre and overpriced and the whole atmosphere felt dirty and off. This is coming from a New Yorker who is used to dealing with grumpy, overworked people and ridiculously expensive food.
I had a terrible experience here. There was a hair in my food, which was completely unacceptable. When I mentioned it to the staff, the guy working there was incredibly rude instead of apologizing. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place

I would rate this place lower if I could. It was very busy and when I got to the front of the line, and attempted to order the person taking my order was not fully paying attention to me. She was making a sandwich while o was talking to her. I told her that I wanted a large cream cheese(assuming that it came with the bagel) and she said it was in the fridge very rudely. She then asked if I wanted a bagel to which I said yes and that I didn’t know how this place worked to which she cut me off and completely dismissed me. I have social anxiety so getting treated like that when it felt like all of the customers were watching was not IT. Will not be coming back.
I gave a nice tip but they were still rude and gave lousy service, ordering me around for no reason. I ordered a bagel sandwich for takeaway, and when I asked that they put it in a bag they refused but at least gave me a paper bag on the side. Maybe the proprietors are used to dealing with really rough characters in this neighborhood, but you're better off checking out the place on the next block.
