Nice place with quick service. Delicious food. Would definitely return if in the area again.
Don't let the name scare you away, this restaurant has some great food. We split a salad for an appetizer, my wife ordered the pasta with vodka sauce, I had the ginger salmon, everything tasted very good. We split the peanut butter pie for dessert, it was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Doubletree across the street, easy walk to and from the hotel.
Forgot to take pictures of the meal, but this place is a must-visit! Love the menu filled with eccentric options and something tasty for everyone. The story of the mascot is too cute. We had cocktails, the steak frites and Greek chicken and couldn’t have been happier. Our server, CJ, was the best- quick, efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend! I cannot wait to come back.
Good portions and fresh ingredients. Casual environment for all occasions.
This place was recommended to us by a close family member. They had been here quite a few times and really enjoyed it. We came with a party of 8 since we just had an event earlier that day. We were able to make a reservation which not many places do nowadays, which we greatly appreciated. The atmosphere in this place is amazing. I love all the different types of colors they have going on. They got giant lanterns above the bar, hanging balls above the celling and an array of colored curtains on the windows. It’s truly a magical place. As for the service, the waitresses were amazing. Ours was super kind and understanding and took very good care of us. I also went into the store to grab a shirt since I don’t live in the area and I don’t know when I’ll be back. The girl at the counter was super nice. Even though she sounded new, she was doing a fantastic job! Now as for the food. I got the signature dish, the penne Al a vodka (the old school version which adds a bit of spice to it). I decided go add a side Caesar salad, which was very good. The niña dish was absolutely amazing! Better than most pastas I’ve had out before. The vodka sauce was truly amazing and full of flavor. My family also got the prime rib Mac and cheese, the burger and the Greek chicken. All of them were super good! And of course, we all had to get dessert. So we got a mixture of the peanut butter pie, the fried cheesecake bites and the banana ice cream dish. All of the desserts were super good as well. Suffice to say, if I’m ever in the area again and looking for a place to eat, I will definitely be coming back here!
I had the vodka sauce and my partner had the salmon. Her salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked, and my vodka rigatoni might be the best I've ever had. We'll be back next weekend on our way back through town the food was so good.
I was here for a work Halloween party, about 30 people. The back room was a great space. Food included bread, a cheese and fruit board, delicious dip, pizza, and a few other choices. They were all good, and it was easy (not to mention cheaper) to have a vegetarian selection. Though there was a bar, the party was small child friendly. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. Pictures are of the mostly empty space early on. Hope to try their famous penne ala vodka next time!
Outstanding. Couldn't say any that bad about my experience here if I tried. Food was great, service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was exactly what I was looking for. Probably the best restaurant made Mac n Cheese that I've ever had. I'll be back, many many times in the future.
Stopped here with my fiancé for lunch on our way up to Vermont. Staff was super friendly and fast, and our food was absolutely delicious. He had the carnitas Mac and cheese, I had the tuna poke bowl. Also the bathroom was SUPER clean. If I’m ever in this area again I would love to come back!
The food there is great! They also have a drink called 1 fish 2 fish, and it's been years since we have been there. So if you go there, and you want to try something a little different, the 1 fish 2 fish is a good one! The rigatoni ala vodka is AMAZING!! The steak was very very very good too!! Definitely well worth it!
We had to drive up to Binghampton for the afternoon and desperately needed food, I saw this place and immediately knew I needed the vodka pasta, it was soooo good, my husband got the chicken sandwich and it was amazing! The drinks were cheap and the food was too, but still great quality! I would make it a point to come here again if I was in the area I wanna try so many other things on the menu
Been putting off coming here for a long time now I realized that was a big mistake. I ordered an appetizer first and thought could it possibly be worth it and yes it was. The service is great people are friendly great music great atmosphere great view of the intersection here. At first it wasn't busy but people are starting to pour in.
We were here on a recent trip that involved an overnight stay in Binghamton. First off, I have to say that I wish there was a restaurant like this near me! The atmosphere is great - fun and festive, but not ridiculously loud either. There was a nice, diverse crowd the night we were there. Although it was very busy, we were able to get seated immediately as walk-ins. The service was friendly and fast. Despite being busy, the kitchen kept up with demand just fine. Table service was a team effort, rather than just relying on a single person, which seemed to expedite things. The drinks were good. But, the food was incredible! The salmon dish I had was amazing! Perfectly cooked and very flavorful! My dining companion's mac and cheese was also a big win! On top of that, the prices were quite modest considering the quality and portion sizes. I also noticed some appetizing vegan options on the menu too. Congratulations to the owners and staff of Lost Dog Cafe for running such a great establishment!
We were driving through the Binghamton area searching for a place to have lunch and noted some good reviews for the Lost Dog Cafe. We drove past several restaurants, that were empty, while on our way to the Dog .... and when we arrived, we noted it was packed (at 1:45). We were not disappointed ... what a gem.
I last reviewed lost dog a couple years ago and finally got around to coming back for the first time since the pandemic started. My criticisms from my previous review stand to present day. Lost Dog is constantly hopping with business. This visit was no different than any of the last visits in the sense that the building was very packed and it took almost a half hour just to get seated. Thankfully there are two bars to visit during the wait and we occupied our time waiting with a few pre-meal drinks (tip: the one fish two fish cocktail is a tasty, popular drink). After being seated our dining experience progresses at a good pace. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and our meal and the wait times between receiving each were reasonable considering how busy the place was. By the point we received our entrees the waitress seemed very stressed and started making errors with our requests. We didn't think much of it considering the business of the restaurant and assumed they were understaffed like most businesses are currently. The bruschetta appetizer is, to put it simply, amazing and a must try for any newcomer. Easily the star of the show on this visit. The chicken sandwiches we ordered as our entree were delicious and cooked perfectly. We skipped dessert this time. Overall Lost Dog is a great spot to dine and would be one of my top choices to anyone visiting the downtown Binghamton area looking for a dine-out meal.
Our favorite place to eat in Binghamton! Eclectic options, great bar choices, and accommodating to dietary restrictions. Staff is over the top friendly our waitres Keiko was attentive even though they were very busy. Beef barley soup was delicious. Sorry rib mac n chess was great. Large portions. Their small plates are filling enough for a regular meal. Very cool atmosphere. They have outdoor seating. Their takeout is called fetch which is an awesome tie in to their name. If you can't tell I highly recommend Lost Dog if you are looking for something unique and tasty!
The vibe of this place was fantastically positive!! It had a very good ambiance full Of energy! The service was great. The food tasted delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seatings. Definitely a great place to have a meal! Check it out when you are in the Binghamton area! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Tried this place on a whim and it was well worth it! The vibe was pretty chill and the servers were very prompt and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was amazing. We tried the special for the day, the steak sandwich. It was more than enough food and I'm a big eater. Highly recommended if you want a quick bite.
We stopped for dinner on the way back from Niagara Falls. It was busy for a Wednesday night so we sat at the bar. The service was great - pleasant, informative and helpful. The food was inventive and well prepared, and the atmosphere is welcoming to all.
Get the rigatoni al vodka, and the lemon torta for dessert! You will be blown away. Cappuccino and herbal tea was top-notch as well.
Everyone hyped this place up and it delivered! The service was outstanding, the vibes were cozy and the food? The food was amazing. I've had a lot of burgers in my life and this was easily top 5. I had one of their NA cocktails that was super good and I love that they have a coffee bar with 40 Weight coffee (top 3 all time roasters all time for sure) if you are in Binghamton this is where you want to eat.
Delicious food and good price. Staff was friendly too. Tried the French cream soda and it was really good!
WHAT A FIND! Service was top notch (even during busy dinner push) - thank you CJ! - food was fresh and flavorful and hot - what an interesting menu! Definitely coming back!
Great atmosphere and location in downtown Binghamton the bar has alot of well made cocktails and the rigatoni vodka was very delicious. The staff is very polite and covid guidelines are very strictly enforced so bring your mask! Overall great experience and I highly recommend for all groups from SUNY students to families.
We had a wonderful experience, thanks to Abby e. She was a wonderful server. She gave great suggestions. I ended up having the pasta with the steak added she ended up having the special, which was a Greek steak. Both were great. Appetizers were brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries also wonderful.
Fantastic spot with a cool atmosphere and a diverse menu that includes a wide range of drinks—from alcoholic beverages to coffee and mocktails. We visited during Restaurant Week and had an excellent experience. Be aware that it can get crowded, but there’s a comfortable waiting area available. ***One heads-up: parking can be a challenge, so consider this a fair warning.
Had to write a review because the catalan pork was absolutely deliciousss. The fingerling potatoes were my favorite part—perfectly crispy and they balanced out the dish well. The pork was so tender and soft, I almost thought it was steak! The seasoning and spice of the beans added so much flavor to everything. I definitely recommend this dish!
We had my daughter’s bridal shower in the Violet Room. The food was amazing! The room is beautiful. And the service was first class. Dealing with Phil was so easy. He was very attentive and thought of everything. He made sure that everything went smoothly. If you need someplace to host an event, I highly recommend The Lost Dog
We had a late lunch after visiting the university-it's a short drive and parking on the street right outside was easy. Staff was friendly and everyone enjoyed the food. Servings are generous. Vegetarian options are available. I did have one piece of mushy lettuce in my greens :( but overall it was still worth going.
My wife and I used The Lost Dog for our wedding catering for ~130 people. We ordered appetizers and entrees from them. The entire process was very smooth and we had no issues. The catering contact (Phil) was flexible, responsive, and easy to work with. In addition to a great working experience, the food was INCREDIBLE! We got compliments from all of our guests and it was a memorable experience for everyone. So glad we went with our favorite restaurant for our special day :)
Amazing vegan food options, including dessert! I had the Spring roll bowl with grilled blackened Tofu and my husband had carribean coconut jerk curry with Tofu. The sauces and flavors on both dishes were perfect! Also, the peanut butter pie was to die for! I thought the center part was going to be dense, but instead it was more mousse like which made it soft and super moist! We ordered one to go after devouring one at the cafe. Our server was also friendly and checked in on us often. Great prices and large portions! Including the drinks!
Went there for lunch. Ordered the Ahi tuna sandwich and the poke bowl with salmon and both were delicious leaving us hungry for more. The fresh homemade strawberry lemonade is sweet but delicious too. My wife and I ate inside with social distancing without any concerns. The decor is bohemian / funky and a nice atmosphere where everyone is there to enjoy. The service was fine - the server basically brings you the food in disposable container. Overall very good experience. Recommend going and trying it yourself.
First off, shout-out to our waitress Elaine (that's the name on the receipt so I hope it's right)! She offered amazing service and went above and beyond. I had walked in with a co-worker for lunch last week and sat down and Elaine was taking our drink orders, and she noticed something in my hair. She professionally and quickly got it out of my hair for me and after she got it she told me it was a spider!!! She didn't tell me until after she had gotten it so I wouldn't panic (and I definitely would have so that was a smart call on her part). She then released it outside. I am so grateful to her, otherwise who knows how long it would've been on me! As far as the food goes, it was so delicious! It makes me sad that I live in Virginia and was only visiting because that means I can't come here more often, but next time I'm in town Lost Dog is a must-visit. I got the chicken sandwich with Mac and cheese and my co-worker got a burger minus the bun. It was all fresh and flavorful! Great quality food at a reasonable price. Lost Dog is a winner.
Great place to grab a bite to eat if you are near Binghamton University! Food was delicious, and the service was outstanding! Cool venue with fun ambiance and vibe. The buratta appetizer is phenomenal! Bowls and salads and sandwiches were all great. We finished the meal with a coffee from their coffee bar, and it was amazing! Definitely plan to go.
Really cool vibe in this place. Food was great. We had Buffalo Brussel sprouts were phenomenal, MoFo Chicken was the biggest chicken sandwich we've ever seen. Turkey Rachel was great as well! Very creative menu, many great items to choose from. We will be back the next time we are in the area!
Such a nice place to swing into. Whether you’re getting a full-fledged meal or quick dessert or snack, my wife and I thought it was perfect. Even for just a dessert while shopping, service was quick and friendly, and the food is vibrant and creative. The flourless torte was excellent, and there is always an incentive twist to their dishes.
We stopped on the way on a long road trip from upstate New York to New York City. Chose this at the halfway point and it was a great choice! Our server was absolutely amazing. I didn’t catch his name, but he was so good. Love the story of the restaurant and the food was really yummy. I especially like the macaroni and cheese, and my sandwich was great.
Laid-back place with plenty of unique food and drink options that give the whole place an atmosphere of its own. I liked the dark, vintage charm with varied types lighting throughout. Food, service and overall experience were good for our family (with two young kids). Us parents even got some lattes for the road on the way out and they were tasty as well- we would stop again when in the area!
We LOVED this place. We found our way to the Lost Dog Cafe on a rainy day while camping. The menu has great selection and we all had a fantastic meal. My daughter proclaimed her dish was a “taste sensation”. Who would have guessed we would have such a memorable experience on a sleepy summer Thursday in Binghamton. Oh, and DEFINITELY try the French cream sodas - what a treat!
Charming vibe, great food, good espressos, warm service, eclectic decor. A restaurant with a charm. Absolutely loved the experience. Tough to say which one was better than the others - everyone loved what they ordered, from salads to burgers to bao buns to salmon entrees. Good PMS and Mushishi were superb dessert options, as was my McGyver’ed affogato (vanilla ice cream side serve with double shot of espresso).
Great food and atmosphere. This place is always busy even on weekdays. Service is quick and good too. Basil hummus : 5/5 Lemon grass dumplings: 4/5 Spinach artichoke dip: 5/5 Baked crab dip: 4/5 Rigatoni ala vodka: 5/5 Sesame ginger salmon: 5/5 Mocktails: Turkish delight: 2/5 Blueberry of happiness: 2/5
A very cool little restaurant that we randomly found on our way home from vacation. Caden was an amazing server who was so friendly and personable with everyone, especially our 4 year old. The food was outstanding and recommend any of the dishes we had. Greek bowl does have a bit of heat but you can get extra tzatziki and feta. We also got desserts but they didn't last long enough for pictures. Brownie sundae and fried cheesecake were both amazing. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!
This is a great spot for any meal. I’ve been here from brunch, dinner, restaurant weeks, and today for lunch. The food was so good and so was the drink. I ordered “the city” - a Manhattan, it was delicious and perfectly balanced with great flavor. We ordered rigatoni ala vodka (with the cayenne pepper), and a portabella burger/sandwich, finished with a bananas foster bread pudding. The portabella sandwich had a little spicy kicked to it and was topped with roasted red pepper, which is the bright red in the photo. We also had a Mexi-cocoa. It was ok, pretty much tastes like the powdered Abuelita packets from the store with a lot of milk; not as much kick as I’d like, but it was good. The bread pudding felt more like a piece of banana bread-cake than a bread pudding in the classic sense but it was good. The rigatoni was so good, I love it with the cayenne pepper, the hotter the better! The Manhattan was great as well, one was sufficient for so early in the afternoon. I love the vibe and space here, it’s different than other places downtown and throughout the area. You don’t feel rushed when you come, it’s not as though they set a timer and rush you through your meal and out the door like I’ve had at some places in the Southern Tier.
We were in town picking my daughter up from school. We had a lovely lunch. We shared a vodka flatbread that was yummy. She had the penne a la vodka and really enjoyed it. I had the braised beef bao buns and hibiscus tea and they were delicious. The cafe is adorable. Our server Elaine was wonderful with recommendations.
This one is an old favorite from my college days. I'm pleased to report that it's even more delicious now than it was then! Great service and ambience as well.

Great restaurant, great service. And the food was almost perfect. The Brussel sprouts were exceptional, the mashed potatoes were very good, and the sauce was amazing. My only concern was the cook on the steak, ordered a medium rare but I got a steak that was cooked medium on one end and rare on the other. I'm not sure if the stove top wasn't cooking heating properly. Not too big of a concern for me. Overall 4/5 stars, would visit again.
It is cold by the windows in winter. Detracted from the experience. Our server was very nice but it felt like she was rushing to get our party of 6 out of there.
Super cute place. Nice friendly atmosphere, great food. Shwarma bowl, squash soup, Brussel sprouts appetizer and Burrata all soooo yumm-o! Great theme 😉💕 🐕
This was a cool restaurant. What a great atmosphere. I had the Greek chicken on top of rice. It was very tasty but I wish the portion was bigger. My daughter had tofu on top quinoa which she found tasty. This seems to be a health food type of restaurant with healthy ingredients and portion size. The servers were very friendly.
Mrs. BP found this little place and it made for a fantastic lunch stop while traveling. It opened at 11 but there was already a line of people waiting and when the doors opened, cars everywhere emptied of their occupants who went inside as well. Within a half hour the place was packed. We went with the appetizer chicken lemongrass dumplings which hit the opening spot perfectly. I got the sesame tofu bowl and Mrs BP had the chicken sandwich. I knew it was served cold, but I didn't find the bowl as appetizing as I hoped. The tofu was warm, noodles were good but they had them cut so they didn't wrap around your fork as easy as normal ramen, and the sauce overwhelmed the veggies. The chicken sandwich and fries were very good. The pinnacle of the meal was the dessert. We ordered the Mushishi, their fun take on cheesecake served like sushi rolls with three flavors of drizzle, caramel, chocolate, & raspberry. I wouldn't be lying if I said I should have just ordered two helpings of Mushishi. It was incredible. Our server was very attentive, never leaving us with an empty glass and also answering all of our questions. Definitely would go back... Lots of other menu options as well.
I always thought Lost Dog was the first "cool" place in Binghamton... there's plenty of good stuff now, but Lost Dog still holds up. My friends always rave about the Rigatoni a la Vodka, and it's true that it's really good, but everything I've tried has been equally delicious. I'm not usually someone to go for salads at restaurants but oddly enough the salad dressings here really stand out to me. Their menu isn't overly "adventurous" but it's not just standard bar food and it has character. The desserts are interesting too! Also I love that they make French cream sodas, one of my favourite drinks. I think the style of the decoration would be best described as funky, but it's not one of those places that has too much going on, and the vibe is great. They have a sidewalk patio too, but I often seem to have some sort of trouble with it. Sometimes it's not open when you expect it to be on a nice day, and I feel like they give kind of a condescending response when we ask if we can sit outside. One time they sat us outside at one of the tables with no umbrellas (some of the picnic tables had umbrellas, some didn't), and we asked if we could move to an empty umbrella table because it was sunny, but they said we couldn't because only a certain section of the patio was open. Then we asked if we or they could move the umbrella to our table, also no. I know they have a system to follow but I don't understand how it would have been that much trouble to move us to a table not very far away from the last open table. In this situation I also felt like the waiter acted exasperated with us when we tried to ask politely and just wanted to keep the sun off. Otherwise I've never had issues with the staff and they're mostly friendly while they're serving us, they just seem to get weird about the patio for some reason. When the patio is "closed", you can order takeout and eat it at one of their tables, though.
Streak was great. Rolls are a bit to soft and sweet, but I can see how people love them. Appetizer was good, not great. Server was a bit too loud and boisterous. Solid for for decent price.
Good vibes, excellent service and a good playlist. The chicken and lemongrass dumplings were 10/10 😋 The rigatoni alla vodka is mentioned often in reviews but I thought it was only okay. It was missing the certain "something" that makes a great vodka sauce!
Good variety and fresh ingredients. Pumpkin soup was good and kicking with good blend of sweet and hot spices. The flat bred was nice and crispy The strawberry salad was refreshing and tasty The ceaser salad was nice Gyozas were the only thing I would pass as it seems like they are not handmade. Service was great, friendly and efficient. Very nice stop with a good vfm.
Dropped in with four adults and two 3-4 year olds on a blustery bitterly cold day around 1:00pm. We were seated immediately at a nice corner window table coincidentally next to a welcome space heater…

We stopped by the Lost Dog Cafe for a quick lunch on our way to Finger Lakes. I picked this place because of its location and good reviews online. We were able to find metered roadside parking easily. The cafe was relatively large, and on a Thursday, it was moderately busy. We had Fried Calamari for appetizer. I liked the presentation, but the serving size was small. We shared the Roast Beef Sliders. The flavor was mild. The staff was friendly, but food was only average.
Nice spot for lunch/dinner. The short rib nachos were super delish! Def worth a try. the rigatoni was also great (expected since they claim it to be the signature dish) but not sure if it is worth to order the extra proteins. My friend ordered shrimp on it and only two shrimps made it into the dish, not cool. A star off for slightly gluey mac and soggy bread on short rib sammie. Another point off for some things (anything with short ribs, fries) being over salted. I would still recommend though, the menu items do taste good, the salt issue could just be that singular day’s problem, and it wasn’t with every dish.
Stopped in on long drive home from Toronto to New York and had a little wait at 6:30pm for supper. Staff was friendly and waiter CJ was top notch. Had the lobster dip which was good while a little bland and the famous pasta which was good not great along with steak fries which was good, with meh fries (they have to be crispy).

Located right across the street from a major hotel this place is busy, but the food is average. I had greek chicken. The service was quick and very friendly.
Place I wouldn't visit again. Service only upon request. Shared appetizers were brought without plates. Need to ask for them. Water refill, no such thing. Burger asked medium rare got well done. Tuna steak asked medium rare, and same received well done. Had to ask to cook another one. Brussels sprouts in buffalo sauce were un-eatable tasted like vinegar. Waste of money.
Used to be our favorite restaurant and have eaten there for over 25 years. My SO is gluten intolerant and the last 4 times we ate there she had issues with gluten even after explaining to the wait staff about her restrictions. We kept coming back each time thinking that the last time was just an anomaly, but after 4 times in a row we are not planning on ever returning. It's a real shame as we always enjoyed the food and atmosphere.
Food quality has diminished drastically. I used to love the rigatoni ala vodka pasta. It now tastes very bland unfortunately. I was also very disappointed by my hot chocolate as it literally tasted…
I’ve always enjoyed Lost Dog Café, but my last order through Uber Eats was beyond disappointing. When I opened my food, I found flies in it, which is completely unacceptable. I immediately called …
Karaoke DJ was so rude. Skipped our song completely. When we finally did sing patrons were so rude. Not welcoming at all. drinks were good.
We had reservations for a party of 8 and all but three of us arrived on time but the hostess made us wait there for at least 20 minutes until the whole party was present. The place was fairly busy …
**YOUR LOUNGE STAFF ARE BEYOND RUDE **TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE This is the second time in 3months I have tried to come here around 7:45p-8:30p and have been ignored by your lounge staff as I wait for a high top table. THEN when I try my luck at getting a waitresses attention in the front they just redirect me to the lounge again. When I finally got one of your lounge staffs attention, he was basically trying to walk directly past me, gave me no time to speak and told me to go to the front. The cat and mouse game is a bit ridiculous. The brown haired girl bartending looked at me several times and ignored me, never asked how she could help or assisted me in any way. I was told I couldn't be sat because there were no tables, even though there were several open. Never coming back sadly after giving my business for over 8 years.
I’ve always liked Lost Dog Café, but this last order was disgusting. When I opened my food, it was full of flies, meaning it was either sitting out uncovered or not handled with any care. Completely unsanitary and unacceptable. What made it worse was when I called, the manager was dismissive and didn’t seem to care at all. No apology, no concern, just brushed it off like it wasn’t a big deal. I’m honestly shocked this came from a place I used to enjoy.
