My server Takayla was the best! She was friendly and very attentive. The food was great but the barstools are very uncomfortable!!! Great atmosphere though. I will be back.
Unfortunately my flight was cancelled but Corey made sure my husband and I enjoyed our time and food! The Cesar salad is for sure top tier ( add shrimp if you’re a seafood lover like me). After such a frustrating and stressful time at the airport, we walked in with frowns but left laughing and tons of giggles. Thank you, Corey, for taking care of us and making our evening/night better. We’d for sure be back ✨❤️
Second night coming to this location because I am staying here and it’s just convenient. Tonight I was happy to see there was more than one worker and he was happy to be in the restaurant. Yash- he was very pleasant, greeted me at my table and checked on me several times. Very impressed with his service tonight. He made sure my order was correct and I was satisfied with my meal. Highly appreciated. This type of service does not go unnoticed.
Love this place so much, really chill atmosphere during the evening. As a student, this place got me through many paper writing sessions. The flatbreads are so yummy and as a fry and ranch connoisseur, I can vouch for their fries and ranch dip 10000%. I've also enjoyed the breakfast service recently. While the food is great, what really makes this place for me is the service. Everyone I've encountered at this restaurant has been nice but Sasha is the real standout. She was typically my server when I was going often for dinner and I have recently seen her at breakfast, and she is always so delightful! Sasha is super attentive and always ready to help with a dazzling smile. She gives great recommendations from the menu and makes a great Shirley Temple. If you come here soon, please ask if Sasha is working and request to sit in her section, you will not be disappointed! As someone who works in the industry, I can be a tough critic for service, but she has never let me down. 5 stars all around!!
The Lab definitely lives up to its name! They have unique / experimental takes on the many dishes they serve. We ordered the hummus, ceasar salad, lamb shank, mountain chicken, and champagne custard parfait for desert. The restaurant didnt have many guests when we visited, but the service was incredible. The entrées were fantastic and the parfaits were phenomenal! The ceasar salad's dressing is unique as it is blended with cherry tomatoes and spices. It is a must try. The hummus is made with navy beans instead of the usual chickpeas. Navy beans are similar in taste to pinto beans, so their hummus tastes more like bean dip than classic hummus.
I recently dined at The Lab Bar and Kitchen and had a mixed experience. The chips and queso were absolutely delicious – perfectly crispy chips and rich, flavorful queso. However, the beef brisket tacos were a bit of a letdown. The meat was dry, and the taco shells were a little tough. Despite this, the service was friendly and the ambiance pleasant. With a few tweaks to the tacos, this place could easily earn 5 stars. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the queso again!
Service was not friendly. A smile from your server goes a long way. They were slow and forgetful. I understand if staff is overwhelmed by a busy restaurant. But it was not busy at all. Also, waitstaff are supposed to be servers and bartenders. I think that is a lot of the reason for the lack of happiness and attentiveness.
Dark place, but I like low lighting. Food is not served hot: queso, soup. Draft beer not available when I was there. Looks like they are getting it set up though. Service is lacking: timing and friendliness. Great French fries. They are huge and tasty. The turkey panini was just okay. Not pressed long enough so I just took the bread off.
We were very disappointed with the food. Service was average since we had to wait more than usual at the table to get our order in. The wine was very very cheap. At least the server was good to not charge it. The food was poorly executed, the burger was dry and medium at the same time... how's that happening? The place is very nice and the ambiance was good. We loved the design but the food was not good. I was expecting more, for sure. At the end of the day, it was hotel food, not a stand-alone restaurant.
Service is slow and inconsistent likely due to staffing. The food is moderately priced standard Sysco quality basic food. There is nothing special on the menu and no real attraction to this restaurant other than being the only option in this Hilton.
Outrageously over priced. Pepsi products $5 for one smallish glass. Ordered Ceasar salad which was very good and plenty. For 2 soft drinks and salads, including tip was $71. This is a bar and grill, not Ruth's criss. Service was slow. Won't go back.
The food was quite good until I was served a piece of raw, as in uncooked, pumpkin pie. At first I thought it was heavily covered with some kind of sauce. Then when I ate the filling--I usually eat mostly filling as I am not a fan of pie crust unless it's really exceptional--it was very cold so I thought maybe I was served some sort of pumpkin ice cream. But when enough of the crust was exposed, it became clear that it wasn't cooked at all. The pie was apparently just thawing while I was eating the lunch. Luckily I didn't get food poisoning from the "raw deal" but I was still astonished that such a blatant and careless mistake was made. It was hard to imagine that the person who sprayed the whipped cream into the plate did not pick up that anything was wrong as it must have clearly looked dramatically different from the pies they usually serve.
I stay in hotels all over the US as part of my job. Various cities and hotel brands. When I do I usually eat and drink at the hotel bar or restaurant. This restaurant has absolutely the worst service. I’ve stayed here twice now in the past month and the bartender/server is awful. She hates customers and her job. She yells at you from behind the bar to your table for your drink order then doesn’t deliver it, she sets it on the bar for you to pick up, if I wanted counter service I’d go to Chipotle. Acts like it’s a chore to take any food orders. Ask for a water…eye roll, I guess that’s too much. Customer service is not her first language. The Hilton brand should be better than this. I will not be eating or drinking here again.
Worst service I've seen in a long time. Then when the food finally comes. Its not much better. The conecuh corn dogs soaked 4 napkins with grease. They should be banned from selling anything with the conecuh name on the menu and the chicken and conecuh pasta wasnt much better. Bland tasteless garbage. I would have been happier eating fast food and had better service. It took 10 minutes to even get asked what we wanted to drink. And thats after sitting at the bar because we stood at the wait to be seated sign long enough for the bartenders two look at use atleast 4 times and say nothing. I would risk 3 day old gas station sushi before id come here again. And it still cost me almost $70 that would be better spent on snacks
The waiter was very rude. Being a representative of the UAB, this should be the best restaurant. What a bad experience. Sincerely, Mr. Marco Rios, Bolivia...
It's a NO. Had very high hopes for this place. Unfortunately they were quickly dashed, and ended up leaving after it took 30 to 45 minutes to even get drinks, before ordering. Other people were having to complain also about the lack of service. Decided it was just best to pay for the drinks, and leave, can't imagine the hassle of getting food if you're looking at 30/45 minute wait just to get drinks during a typical afternoon.
I got a bowl of tomato soup. My first bite was disgusting, I mean like someone opened a can of pasta sauce by accident and poured it into a bowl then decided to rectify their error by serving it alongside some stale store-bought crackers. While I didn't notice it on second bite the bowl was chipped, at that point my passive grin-and-bare it attitude changed to one of "this is a major safety issue". I'm lucky I didn't swallow any of the shards of the bowl. The service was good, waiter did comp us for the "soup" and genuinely apologized promising to throw the bowl away, I still do feel bad for him. The Lab used to be so good prior to the pandemic, it used to be one of my favorite places to eat, I'm so sad.
