Avis sur Thai Thai Restaurant Bishop
On the edge of the town. Next to the airport. I arrived after sunset, I imagine view will be great if you arrive at sunset, the whole mountain range will be bathed in the color of the sunset in front of you I ordered Soft shell crap curry with rice. Really tasty, and size is good This meal has become another memory of mine of stumbling on great authentic and comfy Asian food, on an exploratory road trip, in the most unexpected places. Last time it was a ramen restaurant in a remote Colorado village.
Best restaurant in a regional airport. I want to know why an authentic Thai restaurant is in Bishop and specifically next to the terminal. What is the history? Would listen to an entire podcast episode of Thai Thai. Slow service on my visit, understandable due to all the literally filthy climbers, myself included. (Was at the Buttermilk boulders earlier). If you have a large group please call in ahead of time so you do not cause undue distress to the employees and the other people who are waiting around in more manageable party sizes. I also appreciated as a former Thailand resident, the absence of chopsticks and a silent video explaining how to use fork and spoon in an authentic Thai manner. There were also condiment caddies at each table, which is a rarity. 10/10 for lonely plane spotters. 10/10 for climbers. ขอบคุณมากๆนะครับ อร่อยจริงๆ ผมจะเนนำร้านนี้ถึงทุกเพื่อบ อิอิ
Worth the extra five minute drive off of the main strip. Super yummy! Great flavors and very sizable portions.
Located at the Bishop Airport, it is a bit off the main highway, but worth the side trip. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They offer a variety of dishes, not only Thai. The portions are hearty and the dishes we tried were flavorful. The Drunken Noodles with chicken and the Drunken Noodles with beef were the favorite of the table. The fried rice was also very good with a serving large enough to share. The prices were a little on the high side, but it was worth it in portion size. There were five of us dining together and our meals came out staggered. The first two were halfway through their meal when the last two received theirs. It wasn't a huge problem for us, but others may be bothered by the staggered delivery for larger parties if this is the norm. We will definitely come again when traveling to Bishop.
We were in town for a few days experiencing Bishop. This Thai restaurant absolutely embraced our plan to have a vacation home in ship! I’ve been in Thailand 4 times and I can verify this is legit good! Love their spice bottles on the side. We can definitely go back if we are in town! Fun part: if you need to use the bathroom, you literally have to walk through the door to the airport lol, but it’s convenient
Amazingly good food in an unusual location. Well worth the trip!!
THAI THAI IS THE BEST OF BISHOP!! Was here for a week for a climbing trip and was very pleasantly surprised to find the options and variety this place offers! The Wor Wonton Soup is by far my favorite menu item and one of the best soups I’ve had in the United States! The gyoza was an amazing expereince as they made it very traditionally and was a great throwback. The pad Thai and fried rice options are really big portions and great for sharing for family style dinner if you enjoy those! They also have a chili tray with great options and distinctive! Lastly, Julia was our server all 3 times we went on this trip and she was absolutely delightful with great recommendations and a greater smile! Best place to visit if you’re craving something outside the standard American fare offered in town!
I didn't expect to find such amazing Thai food here, but this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. The ambiance is simple and comfortable, providing the perfect setting for enjoying traditional Thai cuisine. I ordered the green curry with chicken, and it was superb. The dish featured a delightful blend of crunchy vegetables, perfectly cooked white rice, and spicy chicken, all harmoniously balanced with authentic Thai flavors

I traveled Thailand and Vietnam more than 10 times! If you want try real quality and taste of Thai Cuisine! Just go this one! I will thumbs up for the real Thai food. Thanks for the business owner maintained this little place so nice and peaceful, We will definitely go back again in the near future.
Best Thai food in the Eastern Sierra! This is our regular go-to for my family. They also do takeout. Their curries are outstanding. The Jungle Curry is my favorite, as it is unique and very spicy.
This restaurant is at Bishop airport. It looks out over the runway and the mountains in the background. The food is tasty and not too hot, although you can get it hotter. I had had beef pad Thai for lunch, and crispy duck salad for dinner. Both dishes were delicious.

Thai Thai – Spice and Patience Tested Had the Chicken Pad Thai here, and it was amazing—perfectly spiced, full of flavor, just the right amount of crunch. However, the table next to us? They weren’t as patient. After a solid 20 minutes of waiting, they started loudly complaining about the "excruciating delay," and then, in a dramatic flourish, stormed out. Guess they couldn’t handle the heat—or the wait. Me? I was happily munching away, loving every bite. Moral of the story: The Pad Thai is worth the wait, but some people... not so much.
Area resident who has dined at Thai Thai about 10 times in the past 3 years. Food is very tasty, but service is sometimes a bit lacking, like yesterday when the server forgot to put in 1 of our 4 people’s order so she had to wait an extra 10 min. Also it’d be great if the sign about “10% off for United airline passengers” was posted in the restaurant as well as the passenger terminal side of the building. It’s fun to watch the aircraft out the windows of the restaurant.

Red curry and crispy pork veg wasn’t bad. Not the best, but ok for being out here. Curry was not as flavorful, seemed more watered downed. Crispy pork veg tasted like oyster sauce stir fry. We also ordered their Thai tea slushie special and it was a disappointment unfortunately. We didn’t want to be mean, but I should’ve said something. $8 for each I believe and you get a 16oz cup practically half filled with air bubbles. Tasted like bad tea slurpy air bubbles. I poured my cup into my girlfriend’s after one sip and it basically filled it up as if that was the actual portion. I wanted to complain and didn’t want us to pay for it, but since we felt bad that they even have this restaurant there, we just took the drink and slowly finished it. I suggest not to get it if it’s still on the menu or I hope they made it better! :D Service was amazing though and it’s a cute shop being next to the small airport. Give them a try, but don’t expect much!
The service is good but the food that we ordered was not. We ordered Vietnamese Bun Thit Nướng but the meat was not grilled as it should be. Maybe it’s not a good idea to order Vietnamese authentic food at a Thai restaurant. We also ordered the Chowmein but it was not pan fried noodles, there’s quite a bit of source at the bottom of the plate. We’ll try a different restaurant when we’re in Bishop next time.

We used to love going to this restaurant when visiting Bishop. Every trip we would love to come visit and enjoy the awesome food. However, this year we were all totally disheartened to see that this restaurant has fallen on some rough times. The service was the worst I've seen at any restaurant within the last 5-10 years. It was not even very busy, but we still had to wait almost 40 minutes to have anyone come to our table to bring water or take our order. When we finally got our order in, we waited another 40 minutes for dinner to arrive. When it did arrive, it was missing key items such as rice for the curries. Despite multiple times asking our server, the rice didn't come out until after the curry was done being eaten and we just sent it back. Think about that... rice. The simplest thing to make, and it took an hour to get it. Additionally, the food quality was just far below what it used to be. The taste was off and gave us all stomach issues - tasted like they reduced the quality of their ingredients compared to before. To make matters worse, we asked for some broccoli added to one dish... they gave 3-4 tiny pieces of broccoli and charged $5 for it. Absolutely absurd. We used to love visiting this place, and it is such a shame to see if fall on such hard times, but we all agreed that this place just isn't worth the extensive wait and we won't be coming back.
Thai Thai use to be a 5 star restaurant, but it has been steadily getting worse since a new owner took over. Look at recent reviews. It's not uncommon for no one to answer the phone. It's not uncommon to drive there and find it's closed when it should be open. Things as basic as rice, which is an integral part of curry, are no longer included with curry. Am I going to have to pay extra for the coconut milk in the curry next? Prices are also going up while one is having to purchase rice to complete their dish. Lastly, look at how the owner responds to reviews like this. There are other places in Bishop that are much cheaper, have stable prices, and are as good.
We initially planned to place a takeout order but changed our minds and didn’t order anything. yet we were still charged a mysterious $4.31. We followed up in person, and the staff acknowledged the mistake and promised a refund, but it never came. Very disappointing experience.

Waited 1 hour 20 minutes for food. Just to be served the wrong dish, and was rudely instructed to keep the dish and when I declined they said to wait another 30 minutes. And the other dish served was way over salted compared to normal. Been a loyal customer for many years but unfortunately will no longer be coming back Update for response to owner: your waiter acknowledged that the kitchen made the order wrong. If you blame the customer for every negative review you have perhaps you should reflect on your own maturity and biases.
Original Review: Zero vegan options stated clearly by the restaurant. Response to owner's comments below: Yes Yes Thai Thai, I find it amusing that a restaurant named Thai Thai has an issue with the name "Null Null". One seems as generic as the other. James is here to remove anonymity. My review was to let potential customers know that vegans are unwelcome as guests, as you have confirmed in your response. Response from the owner 5 days ago No No Null Null, If you follow a vegan lifestyle, it’s important to choose restaurants that align with those values. Dining at a restaurant that serves meat is similar to being a guest in someone’s home—you are stepping into a space with its own culture, traditions, and way of doing things. Every restaurant, like every home, reflects the choices and practices of the people who run it. Expecting a business to change its food preparation or philosophy to conform to one individual’s personal lifestyle choice isn’t reasonable. Posting under a name like “Null Null” while criticizing a small business only reinforces the issue. Hiding behind anonymity suggests a reluctance to engage honestly, while still demanding that everyone else conform to your personal beliefs. Just as with a dinner invitation, you always have respectful options: decline if it’s not a fit, or come and enjoy what’s offered. What isn’t appropriate is attacking or shaming a business for not aligning with your personal lifestyle. Choosing where to dine is a personal decision. Respecting that not every space is meant to fit every lifestyle is part of being a considerate guest.
I am Thai, and I chose to dine at Thai Thai Restaurant because I like supporting Thai businesses. The owner has always been kind, and the food here is good, which is why my family and I have enjoyed coming here before. However, our visit today was unfortunately disappointing. The restaurant closes at 8:00 PM, and we arrived around 6:00 PM. At that time, there were about three large tables already cleaned and empty, but we were still asked to wait. We waited for about 30 minutes, and it seemed that the tables were being cleared quite slowly. In the end, we were seated around 7:00 PM, which left us with only about one hour to finish our meal before closing. During this time, there was also an interaction with a female staff member at the cashier (the one with long hair) that made the experience uncomfortable. When I asked if there was a Thai staff member available, she responded by saying she could not understand my English. She also mentioned that the Thai desserts cost $4 per bag and asked if I was sure I wanted to buy them. The way this was communicated made me feel uncomfortable. While we were eating, the staff started clearing dishes very quickly, even while we were still finishing our food, which made it feel as if we were being rushed to leave. In fact, we finished and left the restaurant around 7:40 PM, which was still 20 minutes before closing. I want to be fair and say that the food is still good and the restaurant itself is nice. However, this interaction unfortunately affected the overall experience for my family. With a more welcoming and respectful approach, the waiting time would not have been an issue for us at all. I hope this feedback can help improve the customer experience in the future.
We used to enjoy Thai Thai and have visited multiple times when traveling to Bishop. Because of that, this most recent experience was especially disappointing. During a Thanksgiving trip in 2025, we dined in and found the restaurant extremely busy, with many dishes sold out. While inconvenient, we understood it was a holiday weekend. Remembering that experience, during our most recent visit in MLK weekend of January 2026, we decided to be considerate and place a takeout order in advance, planning to eat back at our hotel rather than adding to the dinner rush. We called while still at the climbing crag, where cell reception and internet signal are very limited. Only one phone in our group could make calls. When I reached the restaurant, the automated system said there were four callers ahead of me. I waited over 30 minutes before a male staff member finally answered. I placed an order for 4 half duck dishes with different flavors. When I asked to add a pork dish my friend had enjoyed during his previous visit, the staff member told me they no longer offered it and immediately instructed me to “go check the menu online and call back.” His tone was rude and dismissive, and I was not given any opportunity to explain that I had already waited a long time or that my phone signal was poor. Concerned that he might hang up, I told him I would skip the pork dish and continue with the order. I then asked to add a papaya salad or just some regular salad, only to be told it was unavailable and once again instructed to check the website and call back. At that point, I said I was fine proceeding with just the duck dishes as my full order. Before I could finish speaking, he hung up on me. I understand that restaurants in Bishop can get busy, especially on weekends. However, repeatedly telling a customer to hang up and call back after a long wait — and ultimately hanging up mid-sentence — is completely unacceptable. This wasn’t just poor service; it was a lack of basic respect. Unfortunately, this experience has made us reconsider returning to a place we once liked.
Very poor customer service. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with rudeness rather than a greeting. Instead of welcoming customers, you’re abruptly told to “write your name,” with no explanation and no reassurance that you’ll actually be served, especially frustrating given how limited dining options are in Bishop airport. When I politely asked if I could order a coffee to go, the young man who was taking orders snapped back, “You can see I’m busy,” with no courtesy, no “please,” and no basic professionalism. There was zero sense of hospitality. If you’re absolutely starving and have no other option, maybe this place will do. Otherwise, I’d skip it.

Vegans don’t bother trying to eat here. I’ve never found a Thai restaurant that wasn’t willing to accommodate vegan modifications until this one. They flatly say -“EVERYTHING have fish sauce” - with no effort to accommodate.
