Loved Sunnyside All Day Brunch Cafe! The food was really good, fresh, and exactly what you want for brunch. Big shoutout to our waiter Jonathan, super friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Great vibes, great service, and definitely a spot I’d come back to.
I loved the pancakes here, and honestly the food overall was great. But what I’d recommend most is Paulina, our server! She was absolutely wonderful with my kids and my parents, who were visiting us in Boston. The atmosphere was also fantastic, we had such a great experience
One word: WOW. We were lucky to come during Christmas time, so the decorations and ambiance hit the stop for festive mood. Food is delicious, we shared the Chicken Waffles and an Spanish omelette. Each dish was great and flavourful. Our server Paulina was kind and fun. From the moment we came in we felt welcomed. 10/10 experience
Restaurant is 15 minutes (without traffic) from the airport. Service was OUTSTANDING! Food was great. Many choices to choose from. I ate the Spanish omelette. It was delicious! My husband ate the Montecristo sandwich. He mentioned that it was too sweet for him. We also had the French sticks from the appetizer. They were very good! Too finish I had an expresso martini 🍸 which was very good and strong. The restaurant is very pretty. Can’t wait to come back with my girlfriends. Thank you for the great service and attention.
One of the best customer service experiences I’ve had at a restaurant! We stopped in for brunch and were very pleased with the attentive service! The vibrant, lively atmosphere also made the experience really great! The manager was so friendly, and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed our omelettes. They had a great variety of food and some really fun menu items. Will be back!
Stunning place to share with your family , also your kids will love it. Food is tasty and they’re very generous with the portions. This place reflects happiness because their colorful structure. Loved all.
10’s across the board! The best pancakes any of us have ever had. We tried so many things on the menu over our 4 day in a row visits. Classic pancakes, fruity pebble pancakes, red velvet, banana French toast, omelette, fruit bowl, kids meal! I have a peanut tree nut allergy. I was nervous but when I didn’t see anything labeled with nuts on the menu I asked our server would it be safe to have French toast, she spoke with her manager and chef and the manager came to tell me while they were unsure about any cross contamination with French toast they knew pancakes would be safe for me. My allergy order arrived separate from the group meals and they came to the table specifying nut allergy no cross contamination. Made me so comfortable, enough so to eat them 4 days in a row. Beyond grateful. Thank you guys! It’s completely child friendly, with toys, coloring supplies and fidget items to keep kids enjoying their experience. Indoor and outdoor seating. A cute, sweet staff. Overall a great vibe. Free parking in garage above restaurant, be prepared to take stairs both ways! While the weekdays were easy to get a table, we arrived on weekend to an 1.5 hour wait because of brunch but was able to get in after speaking to the manager after our frequent visits to be squeezed in sooner. So make reservations for the weekend!
My sister took me to Sunnyside All Day Brunch Café in Boston for an early birthday brunch, and I was excited to try it as I'd heard from a few other girls that it was really good! They have outdoor seating, but since it was already pretty warm out (and I sweat ), we chose to sit inside. The place is super cute and decorative, with fun touches like a table full of games and a Rubik's cube inspired wall design. I started with a hot coffee, and the menu had a ton of options. I don't usually go for pancakes, so I was happy to see French toast and waffles on the menu too. I went back and forth between the cookie dough French toast and the chicken & waffles, even though I wasn't totally sold on the maple barbecue syrup it came with. Still, I took the risk and ordered it! We also got the Million Dollar Bacon appetizer because it looked cool when other people would order it. It ended up being one of my favorite things. Sweet, crispy, and just really delicious. My sister ordered the Cookie Dough French Toast, which looked amazing and it tasted amazing (she let me try it). We both got mimosa flights which contained four different flavors, but honestly, they all kind of tasted the same since the champagne overpowered the mixers, not necessarily a bad thing, just something to know. My chicken was crispy, juicy, and tender so so so good! As I guessed, the maple BBQ syrup combo wasn't my favorite, and since it's already poured on the plate, it was hard to avoid. But I still ate most of it and enjoyed it overall. Our server Carlos was super attentive, and we never felt rushed, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. I was treated to a sweet cotton candy ice cream dessert with a candle for my birthday. It was so sweet and appreciated! Definitely a great brunch spot, I'd come back to try something new next time!
Stopped here for breakfast/brunch while visiting the Boston area. Amazing pick! The food was delicious! Best French toast and the rest of the family enjoyed their pancakes. Come with an empty stomach because portions are big and you will leave full and happy. Great music and extremely friendly staff. Five stars! A+!
Had An Amazing First Time ! Yohn Was Amazing ! Very Attentive ! Great Conversation ! Such A Nice Calm Vibe Not Too Loud As Some Brunch Places Tend To Be. Yohn Gave A Great Recommendation On The Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes ! Best Pancakes I Have EVER Had ! Will Definitely Be Back For Yohn & The Pancakes ! Thank You So Much For The Great Hospitality !!!!
I’m so happy to have a new brunch spot in Charlestown, and this place did not disappoint! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The French toast with berries was perfectly fluffy, the red velvet pancakes were rich but not too heavy, and the one million dollar bacon had just the right balance of sweet and savory. The omelets were cooked perfectly, and the espresso martinis? In my opinion BEST top 3 in the city. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was outstanding, servers and bartenders were super friendly & Liam one of the managers stopped by to check in our table, he was so kind. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu, and it really shows in the flavors. Definitely adding this to my fav brunch places in the city
Need brunch served quickly that tastes delicious? Maybe some alcoholic beverages to go with it? This is the perfect spot for the pair. We started with mimosas which will definitely get you buzzing, especially on an empty stomach - they taste amazing too. For food we got the all American breakfast, the avocado toast, a fresh fruit bowl, and the classic eggs Benedict with bacon. Everything was hot, flavorful, and served quickly. After deleting everything on all four plates we ordered a couple espresso martinis to close it out. The foam on top was dense and really addictive, great drink overall.
It’s nice to see this little valley expanding more business. Last time I came here for bowling next door there wasn’t much to see around. Glad I came back again for the brunch. Their prices do seem a bit higher compare to your typical breakfast diners but the quality is top notch. The environment is cozy and clean, greeted right away by hostess, everyone is so friendly, amazing service overall. Their chicken and waffle is a must try here. Chicken was battered, seasoned and fried to perfection. Also, not many places serve smoked salmon on breakfast menu, therefore it was pleasant to see it on their Benedict menu. They even have ice cream and root beer float here! Definitely will need to come back to try their pancakes and other items!
Super delicious food, friendly and professional staff, and cute decorations/interior designs ! Have been there a few times for brunch and lunch and every time the experience has gone amazing!
MUST EAT BREAKFAST PLACE IN BOSTON! Parking was so easy and free right next door. Everyone was so kind and attentive. The food hit we had to come back before we left to go home 😚
I’ve been having brunch at Sunnyside for almost a year now and I could not recommend it more. Majo, the restaurant manager, takes care of every detail and always makes you feel welcomed. At Sunnyside not only the food and prices are good but customer service is superb!
We had salted caramel banana French toast and the best Benedicts eggs that I had in a long time! Big portions to share and food taste awesome! Freshly made mini muffins and good espresso martinis; friendly staff and nice service. Perfect spot for brunch!
Sunnyside is an all day brunch spot that just opened in Charlestown. Finally there is a convenient spot with amazing breakfast food and drinks all day as well as Lunch. The menu is huge and the food was awesome, I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the million dollar bacon. It was really good. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. The ambiance was playful and cozy and they even had The Lion King (the OG one) playing on the TV, so that was a nice touch. I can’t wait to come back and try more especially the cookie dough waffle. Definitely would recommend, oh and parking is free for 3 hours in the garage the restaurant is in.
Great vibe, great food. The best pancake I’ve ever had in greater Boston!
Truly I have no complaints. It's easy to get to. The restaurant interior is so inviting and servers are very attentive. Now the food. Portions are guaranteed to fill you. And I was almost conflicted on whether to enjoy the view of the food or to dig in. Presentation was amazing. I had the lemon shortbread pancakes and what an experience. Crispy on the outside and the interior was so delicious just melted in your mouth. I also ordered a hot chocolate and it was a work of art in both taste and looks.
You can order one of each pancake/french toast so we ordered the lemon shortbread pancake, strawberry cheesecake pancake, and mixed berry French toast. Due to a miscommunication, we got a full order of all three. The employees and managers were quick to apologize and comped the mistake! GREAT service, AMAZING food!!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Great for families as well
This places has a very nice brunch vibe, like a dinner but modern. Staff is very nice and kid friendly, perfect for families. Really loved the Caramel French toast, and the chicken sausage are boom. Highly recommended.
Ever since the first time I came to this restaurant, I’ve loved it. Best brunch place in Boston. Everything I’ve tried is amazing. I’ve been coming regularly since it opened. The service provided by Jonathan and Adriel is fantastic as well. They always make me feel at home. Can’t recommend this place enough.
The food is delicious and service is great. The atmosphere is perfect for Brunch.
Had an amazing time with my wife today! Our server Yonathan was absolutely fantastic and completely made our experience amazing! My wife was beyond satisfied with her Pancakes upon Yonathan’s excellent recommendation. Will most definitely come back. The Candied Bacon is OFF THE CHAIN. No but seriously the pancakes are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If the food was the reason I came, Paulina was the reason I stayed. From the moment I sat down, she brought an energy and warmth to the table that made the entire experience feel special — like dining with an old friend who just happens to be a brunch expert. Paulina was incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive — always seeming to appear with coffee refills or a check-in at just the right moment. She had genuine recommendations (not just reading off the menu), and her excitement about the dishes made me even more excited to try them. I settled on the Lox and fruit and both were great!!! But what really stood out? Her kindness and professionalism. She handled a busy brunch rush with absolute grace, never once looking flustered, and made everyone around us feel equally cared for. If you're lucky enough to be seated in Paulina’s section, you’re in for more than just great food — you’re in for an experience. She’s a total gem, and the kind of person who turns a simple brunch into a standout memory.
I had such a great experience here, and a big part of that was our bartender/server, Jonathan. He was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. My drink never sat empty, my food came out exactly how I ordered it, and he checked in at the perfect moments. Jonathan created a warm, welcoming vibe that made the whole breakfast feel easy and enjoyable. I would absolutely come back because of Jonathan alone.
I had an amazing experience! The bartender/server Jonathan was attentive, friendly, and made everything feel effortless. My drinks were made perfectly, the service was quick, and they kept checking in without being overbearing. You can tell they really care about making sure guests have a great time. I’d definitely come back just because of the outstanding service. Highly recommend!
I absolutely LOVED my experience at SunnySide. The Espresso Martini was fire. Great ambience. The Cookie Dough Battered Waffle was to die for and the BACON? 😍 All this along with the amazing service of our Bartender Jonathan made me a fan. Jonathan was attentive and so sweet. I will definitely be coming back.
Our waitress Paulina was amazing and very attentive! She explained the menu and gave us the full Sunnyside All Day Brunch Experience! We loved the food and very cool vibes from everyone! She made us welcome and surprise me for my Birthday, so we are coming back for sure!
As first-time visitors from out of town, we searched Google for a great breakfast spot and Sunnyside Cafe turned out to be a real winner. The atmosphere is warm and beautifully put together, bright, welcoming, and full of charm. We tried several items, and overall the food was excellent! The loaded hash browns were absolutely delicious; crispy, flavorful, and a definite highlight. The pancakes were another hit. I had the lemon shortbread, which was unique and super tasty, while my husband enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, which were just as satisfying. Our only (minor) disappointment was the red velvet pancakes. They didn’t really taste or look like the typical red velvet, more like regular pancakes. That said, as pancakes, they were still good, just not what we expected based on the description. Our daughter ordered the avocado toast and loved it, it was fresh, simple, and well-prepared. She also ordered a breakfast platter which included bacon and sausage. The bacon was delicious but she didn’t really care for the sweetness of the sausage. Lastly, service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and efficient. It’s clear the staff takes pride in both the food and the guest experience. All and all the visit was well worth the short drive. Definitely check Sunny-side out if you’re in the area.
We came here for my sister's birthday and it was a very enjoyable time. Paulina our waitress was kind and attentive to us. She made a point to check in if we ever needed anything and gave us a little birthday gift as well. I’d love to go back!
Sure! Here’s the updated review with his name included: The server who helped me, Johnathan, was absolutely amazing. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything I needed was taken care of. His positive attitude really made the experience enjoyable. Service was quick, professional, and done with a smile. I would definitely come back and hope to be helped by Johnathan again.
Had a fantastic brunch at sunny side! The pancakes were incredible and the bacon and eggs were great as well. Jonathan and Jacob at the bar took great care of us and were very friendly and kept the vibes high! Good place to catch NFL Sunday and a great bite.
The atmosphere is warm, the environment is comfortable, and the food is fantastic! But even more impressive was our server. When I walked through the restaurant to meet my wife in the back, I passed a lovely gal, who with a warm smile said, "Good morning!" I said to my wife, I hope she's our server, and she was. Paolina is professional, efficient, and very friendly, making the whole experience wonderful. It was my birthday, so I mused about having an espresso martini (day-drinking isn't my norm). Next thing I know, Paolina brought me one on the house. I asked the busboy to send the manager over so I could pay Paolina a compliment. After speaking with Maja, the manager, I easily could see why everything was so well run. She's exceptionally warm and all pro. I highly recommend Sunnyside Cafe!
Excellent service from the moment we arrived. The brunch was delicious, everything was very fresh and beautifully presented. The place is beautiful and cozy, perfect for spending time with family. Plus, parking was easy, which is always a big plus in Boston. I will definitely keep this place in mind to celebrate a family member’s upcoming birthday. Highly recommended!
This place is amazing !! Make sure you request Paulina as your server. She will bring the good vibes and amazing service to make your visit. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely!! Lovely decorations all over !! The service by Paulina was absolutely fantastic!! Will definitely be back!! Thank you Paulina !!!
I had a lovely brunch here with my family. We ordered an omelette, avocado toast, Eggs Benedict, Greek yogurt parfait, a Belgian waffle with blueberries, cookies and cream ice cream, coffee, a cappuccino, a latte with salted caramel, and fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, the desserts were a bit too sweet, the service was rather slow, and they initially mixed up a couple of the drinks we ordered. Nonetheless, we had a great time and hope to return at some point.
I really had a good time here! Our server Paulina was amazing! The only reason I didn’t give the food five stars, was because I don’t know that I liked the sausage choice. I like a more savory sausage and this one had a little sweetness to it. The pancakes were top-notch.
Sunnyside Cafe is a great spot with mostly delicious offerings. The avocado toast was light and tasty, definitely a standout. The French toast, however, was a bit inconsistent, with some pieces being undercooked, which was disappointing. The orange juice was labeled as fresh on the menu, but it wasn’t freshly squeezed—it tasted more like store-bought or “freshly bought,” so I’m not sure why it was called fresh. I also found the $6+ price tag for the latte a bit high, considering it was made with a KitchenAid coffee maker. While the machine is probably high-end, I would have preferred a pulled espresso shot for that price. On the bright side, the service was excellent—everyone was friendly and attentive. Overall, I had a good experience and will likely return, but there are a few areas that could be improved for a more consistent experience.
Vibe of the place was immaculate! The food was great and the service was quick. I enjoyed the meal. Portions are great as well!
Loved the outdoor seats. The food was decent nothing over the top, but everything we had was enough to satisfy your morning hunger. I have to mention that the hash brown was exceptionally tasty!
Lovely atmosphere. Music, very eye appealing. Waitress need little more experience on menu. Ask question and didnt realized was offered. Coffee came warm. Food arrived at different times. Manager helpful and friendly. Food 8/10.
I’ve been here twice. The food is good. The drinks, not so much. Cappuccinos and lattes come from a machine. The second time I visited, they didn’t have those, only coffee and cold brew. The service is really disappointing. The first time we waited so long for our drinks that the waiter removed them from the bill. The next time around, they were slow to come and never offered refills. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I came here in a party of three on an early Monday morning. It was pretty empty, no wait time. There was mediocre service. We had to keep flagging the waiter down to refill water and then to get the check because nobody came by even when the restaurant was empty. I had a lox platter but this place is definitely the kind of place you should get pancakes or french toast at. The lox bagel was fine but I have a feeling pancakes would have been better. The bagel was dry and store bought like a Thomas bagel. I added tomatoes to mine and replaced cream cheese for butter. It’s a very DIY lox bagel. My friend got the chocolate chip pancakes and was very satisfied. Cool and funky decor/atmosphere. Quiet and easy to have a conversation inside. Loads of free parking available.
A colleague invited me for brunch at this Charlestown restaurant. It has some cool Boston sports memorabilia. Other than that it was underwhelming. My friend didn't care for the Belgian waffles. I liked my hash browns but my Western omelet was just average. More importantly, the vibe was not friendly from the servers. I wouldn't go back.
Stopped by for brunch after researching brunch spots and saw good reviews about the place.. unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The service was friendly but very slow — we waited a long time just to get services and even longer for our food to arrive. I will say it was quite busy, but we were forgotten for about 20-25 minutes before we ordered. When it finally came out, the food looked promising but was a letdown. Everything was a bit too oily, and the flavors just weren’t there. It felt like the dishes had potential but lacked seasoning. My dad was scooping oil out from his plate (all American breakfast). That said, the atmosphere was nice with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it seems like it could be better on a less busy day. Might give it another try in the future, but not rushing back.
Service is great but food was just ok. The hash brown looked and tasted like frozen hash browns from market basket. My Spanish omelet had very little chorizo. The French toast was OK.
I used to love this place but since the chef changed we’ve noticed that the taste and food quality has gone down. :( The hash browns before were exquisite and now they’re just what you get at TJs or something. Even the Benedict has lost its charm.
Sunnyside offers a fun and vibrant atmosphere, with bright décor and impressive presentation. However, the food itself was unfortunately underwhelming. When my meal arrived, the toast was served without butter, and the hash browns were cold in the center. To their credit, a staff member promptly addressed the issue and kindly brought out a warm replacement; an appreciated gesture. The overall quality of the food fell short of expectations. We sampled a few bites but ultimately did not enjoy our meals.
