Cazuelas Taqueria feels just like stepping into grandma’s kitchen — everything is warm, comforting, and made with love. The tortillas are hand-pressed and made fresh to order, and nothing comes from the freezer. The mini taco sampler is such a fun way to try all the different meats. My favorites were the cochinita pibil, beef cheek, and bistec ranchero con papas — each one flavorful and perfectly cooked. I also love that the beans are made with tallow only and that everything here is halal. To drink, the agua fresca horchata coconut was so refreshing and unique. On top of all that, it’s very affordable for the quality and care you get. A true gem in Brea for authentic, fresh Mexican food!
I really enjoyed Cazuelas Taqueria! I haven't had guisado style tacos in a very long time, and these hit the spot. I ordered the birria and cochinita pibil, both were packed with flavor! The highlight of the meal for me though were the homemade corn tortillas. These were spot on and some of the better tortillas I have tried. I also ordered a horchata, which was well balanced, not too sweet! The service was quick and friendly, highly recommend this spot!
Cazuelas Taqueria has been open for only two weeks and I found them on Yelp the other day. I was sad to see Bread Breakers Deli go but I was also excited to see this new Taqueria open up! There are a lot of Mexican restaurants around but not many that sell this particular style around. As soon as I entered, the man working in the front immediately welcomed me in. He answered every question I had regarding what he recommended and what the best sellers were including the ingredients inside. Here's what I ordered: **Cochinita Pibil Taco: The man recommended this particular meat so I went with it. I loved the tangy flavor from the orange. The meat was so tender that it melted in my mouth. The addition of pickled onions gave it a great balance of flavor. Fresh lime juice plus some salsa gave it the perfect flavor. (5/5) **2 Guisados Combo (Bistec Ranchero Con Papa & Chile Verde): Both of the meats I went with were perfect. The meat was so tender and perfectly prepared. They both had so much flavor and wasn't salty at all. The beans were good and the rice was very light, yet very delicious. The handmade corn tortillas were spectacular. (5/5) **Jamaica: Not my favorite batch of Jamaica but still very refreshing. It was more sweet than tart but it still tasted very authentic. (4/5) The man offered to refill my Jamaica if I wanted to drink some while my food waited for no extra cost which is always nice. I opted to get one red and one green salsa. Both salsas had a nice kick of spice and were both very delicious! Very nice staff and good portions for what you pay. I hope this place stays longer than its predecessor because this place is worth your visit. I 100% recommend Cazuelas Taqueria and will be back again soon to try more!
This is a hidden gem in Brea. Authentic and tasty guisados. I got the abuelita sampler and all their guisaros were tasty.
New tacos de guisados spot in Brea! Instead of the more common proteins around like carne asada, pollo, pastor, etc., this place specializes in making braised or stewed meats/veggies for their tacos, quesadillas, and combo plates. The food overall was excellent. I got a combo plate that comes with rice, beans, homemade corn tortillas, and 2 meats. I got the chicharron and the rajas de queso. The former had a really nice heat and a deep savory flavor, and the rajas was a nice counterbalance of zucchini and cheese - almost like a veggie queso. My wife got the chicken tinga and the beef & potato and loved both. Overall, all the proteins had great seasoning and flavor. We both also really liked the beans on the side. The chips and salsa tasted super fresh and homemade as well. We also tried thr piña agua which tasted very fresh, refreshing, and was the perfect drink to wash down our meal. The cashiers and workers were also super friendly and helpful. I honestly hope this gem sticks around!
Delicious hidden taco spot. Bistec ranchero con papa is the best taco or quesadilla, but everything taste so delicious 😋👌

This is not your regular taqueria. This is a giant step above that and fairly priced. I highly recommend it.
Cazuelas is a new tacos place in Brea. It's not just any Taco place, Tacos guisados are prepared differently from standard asada or chicken tacos. These meats are braised, and slowly cooked. Tacos are prepared with fresh homemade tortillas. I had the Abuelitas mini sampler, each taco had its own authentic flavor and seasoning like our Abuelitas home cooking. My favorite was the bistec con papas (though the potato needed just a tad bit more cooking) overall the flavor and tenderness of the meat was delicious! The Coconut Horchata combination flavor also was pretty tasty. Definitely going back to try the En Familia Sampler and the other Aguas Frescas. Let's support our communities small businesses, come check out Cazuelas!
Delicious and different then 95% of most taco shops around here. The taco sample platter is really fun. And I have a huge soft spot for chicken mole. Will definitely be back to support this small business!
Great concept. Little pricey but worth it. Loved all their guisados!!

Just the smell from the outside reminds me of the Rancho. People are going to love it here.
I stopped by this recently opened spot during my lunch break. Their menu had all kinds of tacos I had not tried before so I decided to order four. The tacos were tasty though a bit messy since the meat was braised, which I did not expect. The only downside was that a Coke was almost $5, which felt a bit pricey. Overall, it was good.

I had the abuelita 5 taco variety order. The Birria taco, chicken tinga (both with a lot of meat) and Bisteck with potato (my fave) were good. Sadly the chicharron was all sauce and no chicharron. Too bad because the red chile flavor sauce was tasty. I did not try the cheek taco. Maybe the chicharron was too overcooked and turned into a stew! Idk. I like the small size tacos. I’ll give it one more try after my next theater visit. Cucumber water was tasty.
I have been here about 7 times since they opened. The taco sampler platter is honestly a great way to taste a variety of what they offer without spending a crazy amount of money. It’s a solid deal and definitely not overpriced. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Their regular burritos are huge and seriously delicious, and they also have a 3-for-$20 option with smaller burritos that are still totally worth it in my opinion. I’m giving this 4 stars mainly because there have been a couple of visits where I didn’t feel quite as heard by one specific staff member, not sure why so i wont elaborate. It hasn’t been a constant issue, and overall the food and experience have been really good, which is why I’d still recommend this place.

Mexican food served as fast food pre-ckoked, just to warmed up on microwave the tortillas , I order chicken mole plate , I think that was American mole jajaja yes nothing to do with Mexican mole, no coming back
Understaffed, mediocre food, and not so great service. Tacomasa is definitely the place to go, not here.
Got a mushroom burrito side chip salsa small burrito not much filling mild chip not fresh salsa mild they a little spicy I could went theTaco stand Orange 3 time big cheaper a lot better they make everything fresh also have
It was my first time visiting after seeing a post on IG. I told the young man working the front it was my first time eating and to give me his 4 favorite tacos. Visually the tacos look great, served on a clay plate which is a nice touch. The hand made tortillas had a great texture but lacked a little flavor. The Chile Colorado and Chile Verde were okay. The Bistec and Chicharron had no flavor. The taco meats were all very runny even for guisado style tacos. I hope they turn things around, I was really hoping for a better experience as I miss the Guisados in DTLA but it's too far for me to get to now that I don't work out there.

This place is way overpriced the food is normal nothing to write home about the service was amazing they were very kind and welcoming but overall will never go back.
My sister and I went here Sunday 8/17. I loved the decor and spot. think they had just opened. We got the Abuelitas platter that included 5 mini tacos. They didn’t have birria. Booo! We were the only ones there, we got our tacos and tortillas were cold. Wonder why when it was not busy at all. I didn’t even taste a chicharrón taco. The mole one was good. (I think) Also, our last one was so bad that tasted like liver/higado. We burped that smell all day. Im sorry but would not go back.

PLEASE STAY AWAY!! Let me start by saying I never thrown a taco or burrito away in my life..until today! Wanted to try this new place but shouldn't have! Kid at counter doesn't want to be there and 1 person making food..there was 1 person in front of us and took 25min to get food! Ordered chicken and asada tacos and asada burrito which was terrible! Burrito and taco same size!! Taco meat dripped water out! Food was cold and after 2 bites I felt like I might get food poisoning so we threw it out! Spent $55 for some horrible food! If you ignore this post and your upset with your food don't say I didn't tell you so! 🤮
Food looks great on their social media but fails to deliver in person. All the guisados lacked flavor. I personally heard two other customers complain about their food. One couple even left half their meal on the plate.
