Huge selection of beer and wines. Fun place! The bar tender, a Lady, was fun and knew her brew well. She have me several samples based on what I told her I liked. She was excellent. I chose s PB and Milk Stout. It was like drinking a beer and rating a peanut butter cup together. The food smelled tasty. Fun place!!
Libertine Brewing Company is an excellent establishment! The staff and management is very professional and accommodating! We have employed their services 3 years in a row to host multiple events which includes conference reception and farewell reception for graduating students. Each of these events had a headcount between 90-110 attendees. Attendee feedback has been very positive. The cost to host 90+ attendees in SLO downtown is very reasonable compared to other establishments. Their event room can host far more than 100+ attendees. Both Trenton and John are excellent individuals to organize an event. They have an assortment of beer selection including liquor. Our conference attendees appreciated the diverse selection of beverages. Highly recommend reserving your next event at Libertine Brewing Company.
Great beer, not to mention a variety or options to choose from. Nice and friendly staff, yummy food, and super welcoming atmosphere. Always seems to have something fun going on inside.
Nice food/cocktails, good/friendly staffs... good ambiance too!!!
VEGAN OPTIONS!! I love the Libertine. They have a great vibes and very friendly staff. The drinks are great prices, they have awesome specials certain days of the week, and fun events to attend! They have a open-mic for local comedians every Tuesday that is fun. Tuesdays are also $5 margarita nights and they have a taco special. When I went they had a vegan patty melt that was really good. For me, having vegan bar food options is so nice!! Jessica is the best bartender!!! The other bar tenders are also awesome but Jessica always gives great service + makes the best drinks. Thanks for being a great bar in SLO!
Libertine gave us the perfect end to a great day! Very chill environment with reasonable and delicious comfort food. Our server Edward was fantastic and had great beer knowledge to boot. For a small place they have a well thought out beer list with good variety. I tried multiple of their own sour beers and was not disappointed. For my dessert beer I wanted a stout and initially ordered one by Libertine. Edward was kind enough to make me aware of a nitro stout that might qualify as more of a dessert beer (not sour). Its a small thing but the small things count. Other staff was attentive to us as well. They have a real team service energy going. I would return to this place in a heartbeat.
The wife and I showed up here in the AM because I was looking for some coffee in SLO and was pleasantly surprised to find out Libertine was also a brewery! Otis our server was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the brewery, beer, and food. Most of the beers are sour (which I enjoyed) but they also have some great guest beers if you aren't into sours. Food was also good. Will definitely be returning next time we are in the area!
Fantastic beer selection, both Libertine brewed and guest taps. I personally enjoy sour beers a lot, and Libertine had an awesome selection ranging from tart to mouth puckering sour, as well as some beers with a nice wild funk. They also have non sour beers as well for fans of unsoured beer. The guest taps included many hard to find local beers, such as Firestone's Anniversary ale, as well as few other heavy stouts. I also really liked the idea of a fundraiser tap handle where proceeds were donated to a rotating organization. I did not get a chance to try the food, but the food definitely looked tasty. The staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on tap, no complaints.
We come every couple of weeks and Savannah has been the best server we’ve seen thus far. She seemed to be attentive to all of her tables and was right in queue anytime we needed something. The beer selection on both sides is great. The tot selections are so good but (sorry) hate the pretzels.
Life long patron, first time reviewing. Wife and I went for breakfast yesterday followed by a sour flight. Staff were very welcoming and our food hit the spot - breakfast burrito with tater tots is the crunch you need. This place is a must whenever you come to SLO.
great selection of beer and alcohol, tasty food, superb service, and very reasonable prices! tons of space in the place, including an outdoor area, plus some sort of event/live music almost every night it seems. highly recommend!
Great lil venue, decent cocktails. Restrooms to left of stage. Can get loud bring ear plugs for show.
Just happened to walk into this gem of a pub when walking down in Marro Bay. The interior was inviting and the view was amazing. All the house drafts were sours, which are my favorite. The service was excellent. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Amazing. Got a flight and a few tasters of all the sours. I was in heaven.
Great selection of sours, and other beers. Friendly staff, tasty food. The Pretzel, the Tri Tip Egg Rolls, Fried pickles were all good. The Spice Rider was tasty, nice hint of Ancho Chilies on the back end. We'll be back for sure.
We hosted our wedding welcome party at the Libertine and it was amazing! Trenton was professional and responsive and made the process super easy. And the party itself couldn’t have been better! The space was hip and open and perfect for a cocktail party. The staff was amazing and personable and helped all of our guests even during the rush! And the drinks were great, from their many beer options to ciders and more!! (We’ve also had the food many times and it is always delicious!) We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to host all of our friends and family and to welcome them to San Luis Obispo!
The sours are really sour but they have a ton of local beers (and not so local) on tap. The Tot-Chos were delicious and a half order is probably more than enough for anyone (we ordered the full and took half of it home). If your SLO this is definitely a place to check out
Excellent pub food menu. 65+ craft beer taps with 20 in-house, predominently wild/sour ales, and a wide variety of stellar guest taps. Great vinyl music spinning and a fun, pub atmosphere.

The atmosphere is amazing from the moment you walk in — calming music, classic decor, and super friendly staff. My girlfriend and I came in for breakfast and had a great experience. Joella and Isabell took excellent care of us, constantly checking in, offering water and salsa, and making sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and even better service!

We stopped in for a pint on our way to Farmers Market. It was an enjoyable experience. If you like sour beers and wild ales, this is the place for you. There is a large variety of sours to sample, with many different flavor profiles to suite your fancy. They also have some guest taps if sours aren’t your thing. The waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. He brought several samples for me to try before I decided on a pint. The atmosphere was relaxing. It was a large open room, open to the outside, in a side part of downtown SLO. They have a kids menu, and our kids enjoyed doodling with their crayons. We took advantage of the happy hour pricing and got some appetizers. The pretzel was delicious, with a soft and chewy crumb and a nicely charred crust. It came with melted beer cheese and mustard for dipping. I’m not really into sours, but they have a few other options. I would come here again
Great food and selection of beers to satisfy any taste buds. Only problem is the small awning outside for patio seating. The tables are right under power lines and birds sit on them and myself and a few other diners got 🐦 droppings on them which is quite disgusting when you are eating and drinking. We were able to move inside but this has got to be a constant problem for diners. Get a bigger awning to protect your customers! Otherwise 5 stars!
Food had a lot of onion but everything was very tasty. Loved my drink, highly recommend the Lucky Ducky 🦆😊
Great selection of brews, specifically house made sours. Yummy grub and good service. We came on a Thursday after the farmers market, so pretty busy. It was Thirsty Thursday, meaning after 8 PM all beers with a 7% or greater are $4. We will definitely be back.

Great place to stop and grab a drink if you're in the SLO area. They have a large selection of beers to choose from. Staff were friendly.
Big and hearty portions focused on pub grub. Reasonable prices. Big beer selection including sours they brew.
Tons of beers. But only stayed for one. I must have just landed on the wrong night as the club scene took over, not my cup of tea for a brewery. I’ll have to go back when it is not plastic cup, DJ, and youngster night! All that said, the beer I had was excellent and the door man was great!

It's a cool space, tends to always be very busy. Goat cheese burger was really good and the hummus appetizer was great to tide us over. Fish and chips were pretty flakey and not overly covered with greasy batter which was a good change from our original Morro Bay experience. Overall the Libertine beers are terrible. We tried their new non-"sour" Brown and it's nothing to get excited about. And I do enjoy sours, theirs are just lazy and tart and always inconsistent. Go down the street to Speakeasy Barrelhouse if you want to try a good sour. Service was friendly but a little flighty and not too knowledgeable about beer.
Such a relaxing environment for a midday lunch. Great music playing on the speakers accompanies the fantastic lunch I am enjoying. The goatcheese balls were so good had to eat one before taking a photo. The staff are friendly and the drinks perfectly mixed. Recommend 💯

After having gone here about 6 or 7 times, I probably won't come again unless it's only for drinks. The wait staff is often nice, but inattentive and of the times I've visited I have had to track down the server after waiting an extra 20 minutes to pay during not very busy times. The atmosphere is great. The food was hit and miss for me. It sometimes comes out cold, but is sometimes really tasty too. I would just come here for drinks and watching sports rather than going out to eat.
Didn't stop by for a long time. I stopped by to sample some beers but all of their house beers are sours. It does feel like a good vibe to come for dancing.
Got attended by a person at the bar who gave real bad customer service. I asked about the happy hour and let me know that happy hour items are reduced price until 4pm and still put them on my tab without asking. Then when she delivered them she delivered them as if she was trying to run away from us even though I was going to ask if she could get us an extra ranch. I had to ask another employee. If I could call out by name I could because I like this establishment. I will come back but I will try to order from a different person that's all.
Cappuccino was made with one of those burnt-tire roasted coffees. I mean, why, oh, why? Do you even like the taste of coffee or you got it in your head that that's what coffee's supposed to taste like - burnt and bitter and monotone? Did you know, the more you burn the beans, the more carcinogenic substances in it? Interior of the shop is nice though.
The food and drink are good... I didn't like how the chairs and table where so high and the chairs are uncomfortable to sit on. They should add soft booths second they didn't go to your table to take your order you had to get to your table and order at the front which is not good customer service.
The bouncers say no cover until you get inside. Don’t download their app either
Overall it was ok at best. Customer service was mediocre. Had to wait for security to quit having social hour for one of the five guards to let me in. They did not check my pockets and I did have a pocket knife on that I had forgotten about until after I sat down. House brew was ok for a sour beer. Food was better than the beer or the service. Amd they brought me my bill after my first order trying to indicate that they were closing early. Overall it was ok. Next time I may have to try to be there earlier to catch whatever music was playing on stage.
I was bummed to find that the quality of Libertine has gone down over the years. We used to be members of the bottle club several years ago and really enjoyed their sour ales. We came in for dinner last night while stopping through town on a road trip for a flight of sour beers and dinner, and sadly the beer and food were really not good. The beer was not served cold enough and was flat, and they lacked the depth of flavors I remember from the past. I’m not sure if it was the beer itself or issues with the kegs, but I only decided to finish one of the 4 tasters because it was really that mediocre. The food was equally disappointing. My smash burger didn’t have much flavor and the sweet potato fries were unsalted. It seems like they are more focused on being a music venue and bar these days, and I can see it being a good spot to come for drinks (from their guest tap list) and live music if you live in town. I personally won’t be back.

Ordered a drink at the bar and was told the waitress would come take our food order. She never did. She came to a nearby table and opening ignored us twice soo we left. The beer was good but terrible service and it wasn’t even busy lol
Don't come here if you just want to play pool. We came here because we wanted to play pool and BA Start was closed. Welp, the one table that was available was missing two balls (including the 8 ball, not that you really need that one for pool...). The table itself was stained and definitely not flat. And both cues were busted (one was completely missing a tip and the tip on the other was half broken off). Neato.
The staff was nice, but burrito and a bag of tots cost $25 with an 18% tip. I would be ok with that if it was good. It was very basic. Season your eggs chef! You can't rely on a strip of bacon to add all of your flavor. The pico de gallo was bland too, so that's not helping. The worst part was waiting 10 min and receiving an essentially cold burrito. I was the only order they were working on in the kitchen, so there is really no excuse. Was the burrito sitting there the whole time you were waiting for the tots to fry? Otherwise, check the temp on your eggs because it doesn't add up... My wife came on a different occasion and had a similar experience. I wouldn't leave a bad review if it had only happened once. Easy fix for better food. Good luck

First and only time going to Libertine. My friends and I went for an event and any time we tried to order, we were passed up or ignored. Meanwhile, the cal poly students at our shared table got everything they asked for. Any time I tried to order something I would be asked to wait or straight up ignored. As soon as I finished the water I served myself a waiter came and took my water cup. The cal poly kids had a water pitcher with cups brought to them. It was also pointed out that all the latinos were seated “in the back” from where the stage was. I am part latino and two of my friends were latino and there were a couple other non white people and we were all in the last row. My friends and I got there when the place was still fairly empty. They were also serving alcohol without ID-ing anyone that ordered. First and last time going.
