Thank you for having us come and dine at your restaurant even after closing. The chef, Mr. Singh, the restaurant manager, and the staff were all great and treated us nicely. We dined on fantastic food and drinks and were treated with great hospitality even when we arrived at the restaurant's closing: friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, and superb service. Recommend to come and enjoy their food.

Probably the best Indian food I’ve had in the city. I honestly felt high on how good the flavors and spices were!!! I can’t wait to go back. Absolutely delightful

Wow! I never usually write reviews but this restaurant definitely deserves a five star review. I mean the whole ambiance of the place was so pleasant but on top of that the food was out of this world fantastic. It wasn’t the same generic indian food you get everywhere it had a really nice slight twist whilst also maintaining that sense of comfort. We enjoyed every single dish and could not find anything to complain about.

I enjoyed the modern and upscale take on Indian food. The chicken and fish dishes were great and the rose dessert was a perfect ending. Lamb shank was ok.

Amazing Experience, Food, Service and Decor. Yet again a banger from @chefanand. Kudos to your dedication, innovation and culinary excellence. Must try items include Kali Kachori, Chicken Cafreal (served on fire burning coal), LAMB RIBS, Shrimp, Fish ... Pretty much everything on the menu. Highly Recommend ... 5 Starts ...

My wife and I tried Baazi last night and we absolutely enjoyed our experience at Chef Gaurav Anand's new restaurant. All the dishes we tried were delicious and creative, and some of our favorites were the Paneer Ke Sholey, Baazi Gobi (the sauce in this dish is phenomenal), Kasoori Methi Chicken Tikka, Butternut Squash Kofta, and the Jalebi Sandwich. Also, the staff were attentive to any questions and requests we had. Needless to say, Chef Gaurav Anand, Abla, and the Baazi staff nailed it. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful experience at Baazi this past Saturday! Everything was just perfect from the warm and sweet welcoming at the door by GM Abla and stuff, to the beautifully Mediterranean/Indian looking atmosphere; it’s a mix of cozy and elegant! We took some great pics by the flower corner! Of course the food was heavenly delicious as expected from Chef Anand; we shared few dishes to taste this new menu because we had a hard time choosing ;) I loved his new take on some traditional Indian dishes like butter chicken or the Lamb beryani! The new recipes taste kind of a fusion between India/Asian/Mediterranean; it felt like an amazing travel journey of flavors! it’s hard to pic a favorite but if I was forced to pic only one dish; it has to be the lamb ribs; OMG; they tasted amazingly out of this world!!! So overall experience was Top notch!! And we will be back soon 👏

A couple blocks away from the train station, this was the perfect place to have dinner. This was the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to quite a lot. The service was amazing with our reservation, the food came out quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious! The chef was very friendly and appreciated the customers enjoying his food. All this for a great price, I absolutely recommend.

The best Indian food I have tried in the city. The diversity of the flavors made for unique experience. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian will find plenty of options to delight them. We tried a large variety of dishes and they all impressed us with their freshness and flavors. The service was super fast. 10 plates were served within a few minutes of our orders. The chef is simply amazing, highly talented, devoted, and attentionate. Simply a delightful experience!

The best Indian food in NYC! I had a group dinner (9 people) at Baazi a couple of weeks ago and the manager was so accommodating to us. They had the table set for us perfectly and brought out the food piping hot! The garlic naan is better than any other indian spot. 5 Stars. Try it out or go back! It's the best!

WOW! This place is absolutely phenomenal! The food, music, decor, ambiance, it literally has everything you need for a perfect night out. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the food is extraordinary! I took my mom and husband here (tough critics) and they cannot stop raving about the quality of the food and service. Highly recommend!

We used Baazi for takeout several times, and every time it was excellent- head and shoulders above many other Indian food restaurants on UWS. Each dish was distinctive and complex, not generic. Highly recommended!

The food was incredible. One of the best biryanis I’ve ever had—so fragrant and tender chicken meat. The starter king kochari was delish. The branzino large plate was covered with the most satisfying sauce relish, and the sides it come with here so satisfying

Had a very enjoyable dinner. Being inexperienced in authentic India cuisine, we went with some recommendations that were very unique and delicious. Unlike your average Indian restaurant. Very NYC crowd. Lovely interior. Great service. Be ready for the heat tho!

The food was absolutely delicious!! It was flavorful and authentic. The Paneer app tasted fresh and tender. The galouti kabab was so soft it melted in my mouth. The bindi crisps were cooked perfectly. For main entrees we had the biryani which was so fragrant and flavorful, dal makahani and kofta with flaky lacha parathas. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty flavorful Indian food!!

The first time here the restaurant really struggled with service, food took forever and the staff was very confused. The latest visit was a very pleasant surprise and great return. Service was prompt and pleasant. The food was outstanding and the smell and taste of every dish leaves you wanting more. The detail to the notes in every dish is such a treat to savor long after you leave.

Best Indian Food (Kudos to Chef Kunal), Very Bad Service It was the best Indian food I have had outside of India. It felt like I am having food in Old Delhi or at Sandoz in CP, New Delhi. I am in love with the food there - one should definitely definitely give it a chance. The service could be better - I did not find the staff very welcoming or timely (no one gave us the menu or took the order - I had to go to the bar and request someone to take the order). Chef Kunal was nice but the staff was okay. PS: Reservations don't really work - have been there thrice, had to wait 15 mins every time because they did not reserve a table. I would say, best possible food with not so good service. One should definitely try: Paneer Sirka Pyaaz Chana Masala Dal Makhani Garlic Naan

Baazi is the new Indian restaurant at the former home of Awadh, which I considered the best restaurant on the Upper West Side (not just best Indian joint). Same star chef (Gaurav Anand), but new menu, new cuisine, new branding. Everything looks and tastes delicious. Even their outdoor kiosk is designed better than almost any in the city). We loved everything we tried and will be back soon. Yaaaaay!

"Wow, what an incredible dining experience at Baazi in NYC! The chef was exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even taking the time to come out and greet us personally. And the food? Absolutely divine! Every dish was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting. We left feeling like we'd discovered a true gem in the city. If you're looking for a exceptional Indian cuisine in NYC, look no further than Baazi! 5 stars, 10/10, would highly recommend!"

We hosted a dinner / iftar party for 22 people and got seated upstairs and luckily enough got the whole space. I was coordinating with Ravi over email and he very patiently dealt with my queries and was very accommodating. There was no pressure for a minimum spend or adhering to a prix fixe which usually happens with a large party. The food and service were excellent and everyone had a great time. Food is also halal which is a huge plus, and they kindly also served dates. Its hard to find good desi food in the area. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

What an amazing experience, from the decor and especially the food. They put a twist on traditional Indian dishes. Our waitress Mila was exceptional. She was very attentive and gave great recommendations. Fatima, the manager, was great, she came by a few times to make sure everything was going well. Definitely recommend!

Both front of house and back of house perform excellently. All parts of our meal were satisfying. Employees offer nice service in a welcoming setting for families. You get quality meals that don't break the bank. This spot will win you over!

Gaurav Anand's new restaurant is definitely a hit! Remodeled from where the prior restaurant - Awadh used to be. He is a well known Indian chef and he showcases his talent with the dishes he makes. Each one is more delicious than the last and the presentation is unique and fun for all the dishes as well. I am vegetarian and ordered almost all the vegetarian apps and All my great. I would rank from least to best - kachori, cauliflower, kebab, paneer (comes on fire!). The entrees - butternut squash kofta was smooth as silk. The khadhi entree was something my mom makes at home and I've never seen it on an actual menu at a restaurant before. Dare I say, this dish at the restaurant was better than my mom makes haha. And the dessert was so great also - we got the jalebi. Took some time for it to come it bc they make it hot and fresh.

We have been going to Baazi since before the transition from Awadh. Our experience last evening confirmed that this latest recent upgrade to Baazi has been the most successful ever! Fantastic new twists on the menu while keeping some of our favorite classics. Last evening we got a couple of outstanding small plates that are new to the menu, the BANARSI TIKKI and the BOMBAY EGG GHOTALA, both excellent and not your standard UWS Indian fare. We then moved on to the Dal Makhani one of our all time favorites and a new fish entree that was absolutely amazing! BRANZINO POLLICHATTU steamed in a banana leaf with a south Indian inspired sauce. This was certainly the best fish we've ever had in an Indian restaurant anywhere including in India, the UK, Europe and the USA. Not to be missed. Baazi was busy even on a Monday night so be sure to make a reservation. We will be back very soon and have booked the upstairs space for a private party later this month. I would be remiss to not mention the excellent service of the staff including General Manager Abla and waiter Ravi who recommended the fish.

Omgggg such amazing food and service!! We’re from Delhi and we missed the North Indian food until we found this place and omg we can’t stop coming here for the dal makhani, tandoori chicken and goat nihari 😋 too good! And after coming here multiple times, we finally spoke to the chef today and he was such a nice man and turns out he was a chef at ITC Bukhara in Delhi which is btw one of the best restaurant in India and has the world’s best dal Bukhara which is what he’s introduced here as dal makhani and now it makes a lot of sense why it is so good! Love love love the place and would highly highly recommend 🤎

Wow. The best Indian food in Manhattan I swear. The food is very tasteful and full of aroma. I was really impressed with the flavors. The decor is very beautiful as well. The picture does not give this spectacular dish justice! I ordered their lamb vindaloo which came in a special pot with a dough/bread covering the top. Best I Indian dish I have ever had. I believe we tasted every appetizer one was better than the next. We gobbled it up before pictures were thought of!

I went to Baazi with a friend of mine last night. We both got the New Delhi-style butter chicken and mango lassi while splitting garlic naan and rice. It was all delicious. The staff was so friendly and the service was incredibly quick! The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, it's a small but elegant space and they played beautiful smooth jazz music. The food was all reasonably priced. I 10/10 recommend this place for Indian food on the Upper West Side!

We had 3 main dishes between the 2 of us - Malabari lobster tail, Lamb shank rogan josh, and G.O.A.T. Bihari - and they all had meat/fish of perfect texture with rich, spicy sauces that complimented w/o overwhelming the meat & all were all very different. It was a pleasure to keep making the round of them until they were gone. Friendly & really smart waiter (Pranith, I think), gentle ambience, and great service. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Came here on a pulsd voucher. The place is really pretty. The server, Fatima, was great. She was extremely attentive. The food was ahhmaaazzzing! Saag paneer was hot and flavorful. The garlic naan was buttery and hot. My bf had the lamb. He says he thoroughly enjoyed it. The house red wine was ok, nothing to write home about. Maybe try a cocktail next time.

Friend and I ordered via doordash. We had the hara kabab nawabi and the dumpukht lamb biryani. Both were pretty good, and the serving size was just right for 2 people. The biryani was a bit on the oily and spicy side for sure. The kababs were very soft, with cashew embedded. Total including tips and taxes came to under 40$. The lamb isn't boneless.

The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great. Everything was perfect. A new find for a birthday dinner, and it didn't disappoint. This is not your staple tikka masala restaurant. They have a really nice creative menu and diverse favors to satisfy your tastebuds for sure. We loved the King Kachori, Kofta Parattwala, Shrimp makkhan malai, Branzino wrapper in banana leaf (best of the lot), Lobster Malabari. Every item was delicious. And all of these are not too expensive. It is a mid-range NYC eatery with such creative and delicious menu. A pleasant escape from the tikka masala world.

We absolutely loved the food here ! What a nice surprise for our neighborhood restaurant. We will definitely come back. Since we returned our India trip we have been going to Indian restaurants in NY ( including the amazing Bungalow ). The food at Bazzi is our second choice in the city. We ordered Barnasi Tiki, king Kachori, CHICKEN CHANDI TIKKA ( OMG ) and Butter Chicken. Everything was excellent! The chef Vipin came to our table and Abla the manager/ owner was super attentive and sweet. See you very soon !

The vibe in here is super cool and romantic. The meal started with an interactive bite of food (don’t remember the name!). We poured a tangy green sauce served in a shot glass into ball of crispy dough with lentils and potatoes inside. A great one biter! They have an updated menu which featured some new food not listed on the online menu. For the appetizer I ordered the chili garlic cauliflower which was to die for. The best sauce I’ve had in a while. My entree was the subz tarkari pulao and it was so tasty! Served with some fresh garlic naan. Would 100% recommend.

Every dish we ordered was a 10/10. Each dish had a unique taste to it, we had paneer dilnaz and chicken curry with pickled onions- definitely hit the spot. It’s not too spicy as well as not too mild, but extremely flavorful! The service was great, we got our dishes around 15 minutes on placing the order. I really liked the ambience with vibrant colors. We went on a weekend lunch, was easy to get a table. They do have outdoor booths as well.

Delicious food. Highlight was the cauliflower and the butter squash kofta. Somewhat spotty service but they seem to be extremely understaffed. The outdoor dining shed was quite nice; mostly enclosed but open facing the sidewalk and I could feel the breeze.

Baazi is a cute, intimate Indian restaurant on the upper west side. All the food was delicious and presentation was as good as social media made it seem. I really liked the butternut squash kofta and chicken sirka pyaz as part of our entree dishes. Their cocktails were unique and equally good. Cons - The restaurant was slightly understaffed - naan or rice is not included with entree, it’s an added cost - ambience was thrown off by playing American rap/hip-hop music Conclusion: I will be coming back and start ordering take out.

Food is top notch, love the paneer and DBC. But the service is abysmal. Had to ask 5 times for the naan we paid for. Train your waiters!!

An upscale with a small space restaurant. The food was great but the quantity was very low like 2/5 Methi malai chicken was superb - 5/5 Cocktails were 3/5 Galouti kebab - so low in quantity that you could hardly taste it - 3/5 Chicken tikka - 4/5

Really enjoyed this place of authentic Indian food. Went with a group of friends to hav rather quick service and a cute atmosphere. One of the divine Indian food tastes in US. All credits to the chef!! However the service was very poor/average. The AC was not working on the 2nd floor seating area, and was very hot. The staff were not at all considerate or sorry about it, and did not make any accommodations nor did they give any discount for all the inconvenience caused. All the customers on the 2nd floor had the same concern about the temperature. They charged a default 20% tip. Overall, excellent food taste, but was unable to relish to the fullest extent, due to the heat. We ordered the below items and they were very good! Kali Kachori Kasoori Methi Chicken Tikka Imli Glazed Lamb ribs Butternut Squash Kofta (Very different and tasted very delicious) Prawn Kuzhambu Chicken Sirka Pyaaz Do not take seating on the 2nd floor. It's too hot.

S

Great place for some fancy Indian food. We loved the kasuri methi chicken, ammas biryani and the cocktails. The paneer ke sholay was not up to par. Shrimp Bachao was super but not good those who can't handle spice.

Got there at 7pm, put our orders in at around 715-720, we got 2/7 of our things we ordered at 730. The rest of the food got to our table around 810ish (according to iPhone photo time stamps). I know the people next to us were also waiting for a second, but dont get me wrong, the food was amazing. Maybe it was just one chef working, but the food was absolutely amazing. A bit of wait, but all is good with good company.

We walked into Baazi without reservations on Diwali, arguably one of the busiest nights of the year, and were welcomed into its small, intimate space. The atmosphere immediately felt special. While the service was leisurely, it felt intentional—part of the experience rather than a flaw. It allowed us to savor the evening and the incredible meal that followed. The food was absolutely excellent, from start to finish. We had: ek aur baazi cauliflower amritsari fish chicken chandi tikka lamb shank rogan josh 2 day dal makhani Every dish was a standout. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, the dal was rich and complex, and the appetizers set a perfect tone. It was a fantastic meal at a place that clearly values quality. We'll definitely be back.

Walked in on a Sunday evening for dinner - our first time in our neighborhood Indian place. We wanted to find out our go-to Indian restaurant and were hoping Baazi would hit the spot. Unfortunately it did not! Service however was pretty good and they have a very friendly staff. We got two glasses of wine and ordered Paneer Ke Sholey ($16), Amritsari Fish ($17) - which was absolutely excellent, 2-day Dal Makhani ($19) - their website has a typo in the price and this is not for $29! Food came within 20 minutes of ordering and the Paneer Ke Sholey was presented in a very nice way! Might visit again for the convenience of location and friendly staff.

The food was excellent! Modern Indian cuisine with very good sauces and creative recipes. We loved every dish! The only negative point was the atmosphere in general, the played loud music that didn’t really fit with the atmosphere.

Bazee presents an underwhelming experience that falls short of expectations, particularly given its price point in New York City's competitive Indian dining scene. Food Quality & Authenticity (★★★) : The restaurant's main shortcoming lies in its culinary execution. The flavors lack the depth and authenticity one would expect from an Indian establishment, especially considering the premium pricing. While the dishes are passable, they don't deliver the robust, genuine Indian taste profiles that justify their cost. Menu Accuracy (★★): A concerning issue arose with menu accuracy. We encountered a situation where a dish contained cheese that wasn't mentioned in the description. While the staff handled the situation professionally by offering a replacement, such oversights in menu descriptions can be problematic, especially for diners with dietary restrictions or preferences. This indicates a need for better menu oversight and transparency. Service & Staff (★★★★): The bright spot of our experience was the service. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff maintained a friendly and accommodating demeanor. Their handling of the menu discrepancy was particularly commendable, demonstrating good customer service ethics and a willingness to rectify mistakes promptly. Ambience & Maintenance (★★½): While the restaurant enjoys healthy patronage, suggesting its popularity, the maintenance standards could use improvement. The busy environment is expected in New York, but better attention to upkeep would enhance the dining experience and better align with their pricing structure. Value for Money (★★): Given the premium pricing, the overall experience falls short of expectations. While service quality partially compensates, the combination of inauthentic flavors and maintenance issues makes it difficult to justify the cost. Verdict: While Bazee has potential, particularly in its service standards, several areas need improvement to justify its pricing and position in New York's competitive Indian cuisine market. Pros: - Friendly and accommodating staff - Good service recovery when issues arise - Popular and lively atmosphere Cons: - Lack of authentic Indian flavors - Menu accuracy issues - Maintenance needs attention - Questionable value for money

The food was tasty, though the protein portions are small for the price paid ($16 small plate came with 4 pieces of shrimp; $18 large plate had maybe the meat of a small chicken thigh), so we were left wanting. Also, the meals don't come with rice and/or naan, that's a separate order/charge. Just feels stingy. The service was not good, and at one point the waitstaff was not making eye contact as they cleared and prepped multiple tables near us that I feel they were either negligent or incompetent. Lastly, i ordered a drink and they didn't have the menu ingredient (basil) so they substituted something else (mint) without asking. They replaced the drink when I mentioned it. Lastly, this isn't totally the restaurant's fault but they could've discouraged the patron from noisily going through their mail (shuffling papers and opening items).

Baazi is good for what it is, but it does leave something desired from the restaurant it replaced, Awadh. Their quantities have shrunk quite a bit in addition to the quality of the dishes. Their paneer tikka masala has a few pieces of paneer swimming in oil. They overdo the oil and give too few pieces of paneer for the cost of the dish. The sauce itself is nice but could use a little more tang and sweet flavors. The barwhan baingan dish had a nice sauce, but the eggplant pieces itself were under-seasoned. The flavor of the sauce didn’t permeate throughout the eggplant, leading me to believe that it was quickly added at the end separately. Overall, this restaurant used to be top tier in its former iteration, but now it’s a shadow of its former self. I do hope staff improve the quality and quantity of the food and reduce the oil drastically to put this back up there with other good restaurants in this city.

Ambience was good and service was remarkable. The 2 day slow cooked Daal and the Banarasi tikki chaat were the highlights of our meal. The biryani was average, nothing authentic Hyderabadi about their Hyderabadi Biryani. The 65 wing could do with more seasoning and less ketchup. They need to improve on the softness of their Paneer.

I recently dined at Baazi in New York and found the experience to be fairly average. The restaurant offers decent Indian food, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While the presentation of the dishes was impressive, capturing a modern and stylish aesthetic, the flavors were somewhat lacking the authentic Indian kick that I was hoping for. The spices and depth of flavor that typically characterize Indian cuisine seemed muted, making the dishes taste rather bland. The ambiance and service were commendable, contributing to a pleasant dining environment. However, the overall culinary experience left something to be desired. I would rate my experience a 6/10.

Food is ok. but the overall experience doesn't make it worth $$. Very poorly managed It gets too crowded in front with all pickup deliveries, and people are waiting for the table. Panner ke sholey was good. Kali kachori was ok. Saag panner was too salty and the panner dilnaz main dish was too sweet. Lemon rice too dry not warm enough too. Dal tadka was good. Crispy okra was ok Makhan malia was just whipped cream no flavor. We are been to other restaurants by chef Gaurav Anand Bhatti Indian Grill, Moti Mahal Delux. Any day we still prefer Moti Mahal Delux

Worse experience ever! When we reached, there was no one to attend us for the first 10 mins. When finally someone showed up, they asked if we had reservation, which we didn't and told us they were full. We stepped out and reserved a table in front of them, and a different person seated us at a table. Now the first one comes back seeing us seated and asked us if we made a reservation and we gave him the details. He returned with a tab and re-confirmed our details and reservation. After finally confirming, the order was placed, and it took forever for the food to arrive. When it did, we asked them for another Indian bread (naan), which they absolutely forgot about, and we were sitting idle, not eating in the middle of our dinner waiting for the bread to come. After 2 follow ups and 30 mins, they got us the bread but not the one that we ordered. Sure, they apologized and said it's complementary, but it was a terrible experience. The food was indeed delicious!

I have eaten or ordered from here more than 10-15 in the last few years. They still run the previous restaurant Awadh on DoorDash and Uber. This is the Makhanwala I got delivered for $25 dollars. It’s literally chicken floating in oil with some random sauce. Sad to see a great restaurant fall apart.

I had high hopes that Baazi would be a great place. Sadly it's just not. I was so excited to see bagara-e-baingan on the menu, and "seven greens" saag paneer with broccoli raab. I asked for tandoori roti with no butter, Because the default unholiness of mediocre Indian restaurants is the use of butter and cream to the point where you can't taste the ingredients at all. NYC has become the home of some of the most spectacular Indian food in the world with Indian Accent, Dhamaka, Rahi, Semma, etc. etc. The bar is pretty high. We can now expect unapologetic (pun intended) desi food with proper fresh spicing, and inventiveness if needed. Baazi is just not that. It's not even basic dhaba food. I love bagara-e-baingan. This baingan was cooked right and was tender. But the spicing was so far from what it should have been it's like the cook/chef had never had the dish and may have just followed a bad recipe. I was so excited about the spiciness and bitterness of broccoli raab in saag paneer. But instead this was the standard mediocre creamed spinach with cream and no spice and tasteless paneer. To top it off my tandoori roti came with the butter I had expressly requsted to avoid. The butter and cream were enough to stop us from eating more than a few bites, for fear of feeling ill. Everything with cream and butter with no spice or flavor! I do my best to be fair to restaurants since it's a VERY hard business to satisfy customers. But to ignore what I requested, then further correct my feedback after I was asked if I liked the food by saying that this is how the baingan and saag should be prepared ? This is just annoying and disrespectful.

The food is excellent! The service and atmosphere were abysmal. Honestly the worst I've experienced in over 15 years of living and dining out in NYC. It took over 25 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me and my dining partner and over an hour for us to receive our entrees. From a 6:15 reservation, we didn't leave the establishment until after 8pm. They even brought us the check before bringing the prepaid dessert to the table! I couldn't believe such poor service existed on the UWS!

I'd heard great things about the food at Baazi. That's not the issue. It's worse. From my table, I could see a C grade health inspection posted in the kitchen. I don't eat at places that don't maintain an A grade, so this was alarming (we had already ordered). My friend looked up the grading at NYCEatSafe and it turns out Baazi had been cited for 35 violations in 2023, including rats. The Health.nyc.gov site currently lists the grading as a C. No grade is posted in their front window, a law in New York. Be aware of the health risks before eating here.

The food here is not that bad, but their logistics absolutely is the reason that I will never be back here. I ordered food with Grubhub for delivery at 7pm. They sent me 2 emails confirming that the order was received, but then at 6:53 cancelled the whole order. the reason stated was "The restaurant canceled this order because they're out of a menu item." I had ordered 6 items with almost 100$ in total, and they cancelled it cause one item is not available after confirming the order for almost an hour???? Then the next day my hubby thought it would be a good idea to give them another change. He ordered 2 entrees and an appy. The delivery guy showed up late from their own delivery estimate with a bag with just one thing! Also the most frustrating thing is that you can't call them! At all! so you can't complain or try to fix it. Same with Grubhub! So basically if you are hungry don't order from here, cause you may not actually get food, and if you are not hungry -don't order cause you don't need food!!

I went to this restaurant because google recommended us that is one of the best restaurants in NYC. Now I dont trust google. Only reason I am giving it 2 star because food was okay. Following are the reasons I will never go to this restaurant again and I wont recommend this restaurant to anyone, except my enemies I guess. • Despite having reservations, we were made to wait for 20 minutes outside on the sidewalk. • Our table was already ready and just being cleaned after the previous guests meaning they don’t actually check or honor online reservations. • People who came after us were seated and served before us. • There was only one waiter working that night, and we literally had to call him over just to get our order taken. • The waiter’s communication was so unclear that I had to guess what he was saying. • The plates had stains, and the wine glasses had visible fingerprints. We were asked to use the same small appetizer plates for our entrées as well. • Fruit flies were flying over our food. • The chairs felt like torture devices round, unstable, and poking. Each one had two metal poles sticking right where your legs should rest, ensuring equal pain for both legs. • The biggest disappointment: the restaurant looked nothing like the pictures online. Overall, this was one of the most overrated places I’ve ever been to. The food might have been passable, but everything else was below basic standards. Definitely not worth the hype.

The food was pretty excellent taste/quality wise - dal makhni is top 5 I've ever had. Shrimp mirchi, 65 wings, hara bhara kebab all very good. Breads were decent. The portion sizes however were abysmal. You'll need 3 apps for 2 people here, if not more. The biryani tho - one of the worst I've had in NYC. Just dripping with oil and lacking most flavor. The meat was cooked very well, it's a shame. The service itself was super slow and inattentive. We had to wait 10-20 mins after the apps for more food to show up. Another 10 mins for the check.

They have mice dont go.This is my second time going to this restaurant and I'm never going back again . This is one of those indian restaurant trying to be a fancy restaurant and the price is overpriced for the location . My main problem with this restaurant i went there last week with my date . Food was OK then decides to go to the bathroom . Once I got out I believe there were alot of people going there Im guessing it was for catering I went downstairs by accident and I saw a mouse trap as well as little mouse wondering around . I told my waitress Fatima what saw and I won't report along as fixes. She told me "no mice here and I was seeing things, I need to get my eyes checked". how rude . Then I asked for manager she said manager not and she Hid the C inspection sign. I'm never going again and neither should any body else.

We had dinner here to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and we were incredibly disappointed by the service. From the moment we were seated, we were made to wait for 15 minutes before anyone handed us the menu; after that, it took another 20 minutes before anyone deigned to take our order. We waited for about 30 minutes after our order had been taken—and well after all the tables around us, who had arrived after us, had received their orders—before the first dish arrived. The manager, Abla, was incredibly rude to our party, and was of little help in sorting out our issues; our server, Fatima, was perhaps the highlight of our night, as she was incredibly friendly and attempted to help rectify our problems. When the food finally arrived, it turned out that they had forgotten to place the order for one of the dishes we wanted; another round of confusion ensued. By the end of the night, we were so appalled by the service we received that we couldn’t wait to leave. If Awadh, the previous incarnation of this restaurant, had attempted to embody Mughal hospitality, the atmosphere of Baazi cabest be described as second-rate Bandra club: think blue lighting, Anokhi kitsch, and pumping electronic music. Thankfully, the food was serviceable, and the drinks were excellent—major props to the mixer for salvaging what has otherwise been a comedy of errors. The sharkarkandi chaat was an excellent reinterpretation of the dish, and the kali kachori put a fairly creative spin on a commonly-found street food. The biryani was alright—nothing to write home about, but not the worst we’ve had in the city. The butter kalan was good as well, and comes recommended. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the butternut squash kofta, which was otherwise highly recommended as well. We got the jalebi sandwich for dessert, a combination that worked surprisingly well. Was the food worth the hourlong wait, however? I would answer in the negative, though your mileage may vary. It’s a pity that the level of service we received was not at all commensurate with the quality of food here— surely, Chef Gaurav Anand’s talent and finesse merits a much better team!

Probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in NYC. There was only person working the bar and the entire floor. She couldn’t handle it and it’s not her fault. Terrible leadership. I used to enjoy this restaurant.

I came in this place with such anticipation and high hopes! I was sat at the bar as I was dining solo which is something I’m quite in favor of but tonight it turned out to not be in my favor. I was between who appeared to be the owner/manager as he tried to wow a few people and he drank heavily and the service area of the bar. Despite being between so many people I was constantly ignored. Almost 30 minutes before placing my order. I ordered 2 appetizers, 2 main courses and 3 sides. I never received one of my appetizers despite asking 6-7 times for it. I will say I did enjoy the food but the lack of any kind of service completely ruined my experience. This lady (who seemed to be the service manager) took my food to put in containers to take home discarded my leftover Nihari which had half of it leftover. I wanted dessert too but was never offered anything and after just trying to resolve my leftovers being thrown away and still not receiving one of my appetizers I just wanted to leave. I got the bill which still was charging me for the appetizer I never received and the Nihari. It then took what seemed like forever to get my check corrected and pay out. It took nearly as much effort to retrieve my jacket from the coat check. I was prepared to drop $200 on my meal but after this experience, dropping still well over $100 seemed too much. I’ve been in the service industry for over 30 years and I’m forgiving to a fault. I travel the world for good food and even though this is just down from my apartment it won’t be on my return list. Sad indeed!!

The service was ABHORRENT, horrible, non-existent. I felt ignored and disrespected. The wait staff didn't know what a vegan diet meant. The only time we got service was when I managed to flag someone down. I had to flag someone to get a second drink which took 20 mins and only got it because I asked for it a 2nd time. I had to flag someone down to clear our plates and get to-go boxes. I had to flag someone down to order dessert, which we had to request twice before someone took our order. I had to flag someone down to pay the bill. This is a small restaurant. There was no reason for this to have happened. Restaurants have off nights. Fine. But they are usually aware and offer some kind of compensation - take a drink or an appetizer off the bill. We received no such apology. The food was good but there are enough good Indian restaurants that I need never come back here again. Clearly others have complained about the service as well.

Shady Pricing Practices and Poor Management Overshadow Good Food ❌🍽️ Our visit to Baazi NYC was a deeply frustrating experience that started with so much promise but ended in a total lack of trust. While the food was objectively good and our server was genuinely nice and kind, the evening was completely spoiled when the check arrived. We discovered significant overcharges: the Paneer Sabzi was billed at $22 despite being listed as $18 on both the menu and their website, and the Dal was charged at $20 instead of the advertised $13. When we inquired, the owner dismissively explained that their POS system had been updated even if the menus hadn't. Rather than apologizing for the lack of transparency, he claimed their "regular" customers already knew about the price hikes, making us feel as though it was our mistake for even questioning the discrepancy. Screenshots and receipts attached for review. The situation only worsened when it came time to rectify the bill. While the owner eventually offered to refund the cost of the dal and also waived off egg bhurji charges, the process was a logistical mess. They claimed to have voided the initial transaction and asked us to pay a new, adjusted amount, yet they couldn't produce a void receipt for over half an hour. What should have been a pleasant dinner turned into a stressful ordeal due to these deceptive pricing tactics and the owner’s dismissive attitude. I honestly cannot recommend anyone visit this restaurant.

The service was very poor. As new guest at the restaurant, we weren't coached into what the menu included and what the restaurant would recommend. We finally ordered bread and butter chicken, and we weren't provided an actual dinner plates and had to eat in the appetizer size plates. When I Googled top Indian restaurants in NYC, this place came up and now I'm not exactly sure why it was even listed as a top location to eat Indian food. The food was OK, but service was horrible!
