We recently hosted a private event for 35 people here, and it was a spectacular experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for a venue that combines authentic flavors with professional service, look no further. The menu is incredibly diverse and every dish felt truly authentic. My personal favorites were the folded dumplings and the salted egg calamari. We finished the night with the coconut ice cream and chiffon cake, which were top-notch. In the best tradition of Asian desserts, they were "not too sweet," which was the perfect end to the meal. The restaurant’s organizer was thoughtful and incredibly easy to coordinate with in advance. They were very accommodating with our various dietary restrictions, ensuring every guest had a delicious meal they could enjoy. Our bartender and waitress were EXCEPTIONAL. They were attentive, polite, and very thoughtful throughout the entire evening, making sure no glass was empty and every guest felt welcome. Thank you again for the great evening!

Went to dinner on a Friday with two friends, the atmosphere, drinks and food were awesome. I got three cocktails “Last Kiss of Summer”, “I’ll Wait for Yuzu” and “Ask for Jan”. Last kiss was definitely my favorite the Lychi flavor was light and delicious while “Ask for Jan” was punchy and strong. For food we started with “Folded Dumpling” which were delicious and light. The coconut milk gave the dumplings and unexpected depth. We moved on to the “Fried chicken skin” and the “Sai Ua Croquettes” the chicken skin was delicious while the croquettes were spicy and a little refreshing. The papaya salad was light and refreshing but packed a spicy punch at the end. The “Pad Kee Mao” was good - flavor was strong but the dish overall was light - we ended the mains with the “Marinated Ribeye Steak” - which was solid but not our favorite dish. The toast with Thai ice tea ice desert was sweet and delicious but the lychee yuzu sort was the perfect finish. Light yet refreshing.

Exceptional food !! The beef tallow fried rice is now one of my favorite dishes in NYC. The folded dumplings are incredible! Sweet and savory and so complex ! The Khao soy was a bit thick for me but the flavors were great. V was very nice and attentive. Service was quick.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in the city.. not the most authentic, but the dishes have really unique flavor profiles, such as the triple mushroom fried rice which I want to eat every day for the rest of my life. Happy hour deal is totally worth it (ends at 6:30pm on weekdays), and the ambiance was comfortable and quiet. Service was amazing too- the hostess and our waitress were both so kind. I will come back here!

Delicious, nicely decorated spot. Had a wonderful time here as food and service were excellent. Absolutely loved the green dumplings / so delicious and more peanut butter forward ( very unique) and 100% recommend. Enjoyed the noodles as well and a chicken dish- would recommend dumplings and noodles! Defs a place to go to as everything was delicious and quick.

Their food was on another level. We started with the fried chicken skin, which was cooked perfectly, super light, incredibly crispy, and flavorful. It might be my favorite. I also really liked that the crab fried rice actually had big chunks of sweet crab throughout, and the rice itself had a great smoky flavor from the wok. The fried branzino was served deboned, so it’s easy to share. For drinks, I got the Made in Thailand, which had a hint of tropical flavors without being overly sweet. I definitely have to come back to try more!

read the reviews and was expecting it to be inflated. went two separate times and i have to say i enjoyed brunch more! the food leans on the rich side. BRUNCH: i love the fusion of american and thai. fairly priced and every dish was a 10/10. i ordered the steak and eggs and with a dish that heavy, you would expect it to be tiring for the palette. however, the accompanying sauce had enough acidity to help cut through the richness. DINNER: classic dishes but the short rib curry was a standout. the other things we ordered were kind of forgettable.

Incredible ambiance and experience thanks to our friendly waiter V! We loved the folded dumpling appetizer, and I enjoyed my vegetable massaman curry - it was probably the best one I’ve had in nyc!! So rich and flavorful. My friend also loved her Goong Karee (prawn curry). We will be back soon!

Very good Thai food. Solid shrimp pad Thai and I’ve tried 100 pad Thais. It was a bit sweet for the noodles. Great portion size. The fish was fresh and the Brussels sprouts were delicious.

The best Thai restaurant on West 4th! We received a warm welcome from the moment we stepped in and enjoyed excellent service throughout the meal. The food, drinks, and desserts were all delicious. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We stayed from 1-4 PM, enjoying our time with no rush at all. We truly love this place and will definitely be back! 😊

Had a great experience at Chada NYC. The papaya salad was fresh and flavorful, and the cocktails were excellent. We tried Pad Kee Mao and Khao Soi, perfect spice, unique taste, and absolutely delicious. Service was also very good, and dessert was a nice finish. Highly recommended.

This is my go-to Thai spot in NYC. I love everything about this place! from the food and drinks to the decor and service My favorite dishes are the crab curry and marinated raw crab (spicy but incredibly delicious), beef tallow fried rice, crispy pork krapow, folded dumplings, beef tartare, and sai ua croquettes. If you’re looking for recommendations, you can’t go wrong with any of these For drinks, I especially love I’ll wait for yuzu, Last kiss of summer, and Bitter rose. Each one is great in its own way Don’t skip dessert; the coconut ice cream and lychee yuzu sorbet are both smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor Overall, I’d give this place 1000/10. Special thanks to Witt for the great service and to Jan for the fantastic drinks. Highly recommend to everyone I know!

Great, straightforward high end Thai food. I came here for lunch and the place was busy, but maintained a cozy and quiet atmosphere. The food was excellent, the staff helpful and attentive, and the interior decor lovely for a casual lunch or dinner. I'll be sure to come back here next time I'm in the neighborhood. It's just a short walk from West 4th street station and all the interesting things on MacDougal street.

An amazing Thai restaurant — easily one of my favorites in New York so far. Every dish I tried was excellent. The papaya salad and pork jowls were refreshing and packed with flavor, and the crab fried rice and short rib curry are absolute must-tries. Our server Mimi was incredibly friendly and had great taste; her recommendations — the Crystal Coco Thai Tea and the Lychee Yuzu Sorbet — were perfect. I’ll definitely be coming back!

CHADA NYC was such a beautiful and flavorful experience! The presentation of every dish was stunning — you can tell they put so much thought into the details. We ordered a mix of appetizers, mains, and dessert, and everything came out looking restaurant-level gorgeous. The fried rice was fragrant, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the fresh lime and green chili sauce on the side. The curry (with the crispy chicken leg) was rich, creamy, and comforting — easily one of the standouts of the night. We also tried the crispy rolls, which were super crunchy on the outside and flavorful inside, especially with the dipping sauce. And the mango sticky rice… absolutely delightful. The mango was perfectly ripe, the sticky rice warm and creamy, and the entire dish was served in the cutest basket — such a nice touch! The Thai iced tea was also refreshing and balanced. Overall, CHADA NYC delivered a great mix of flavor, presentation, and ambiance. A lovely spot if you’re craving elevated Thai cuisine with thoughtful plating and warm vibes. Would definitely come back to try more from their menu!

A great new Thai spot in SoHo! Chada is a pleasant surprise — authentic flavors, generous portions, and a cozy space. Every dish we tried hit the mark: the Marinated Raw Shrimp was fresh and spicy, Sauté Chili Lobster packed amazing flavor with lots of Brussels sprouts, and the Steak & Eggs and Crab Egg White from the brunch menu were both delicious and huge in portion. The Brisket Roti was another standout — tender beef with crispy roti. Easily one of the best Thai meals around NYU/SoHo, and definitely worth coming back!

Came here for brunch and really enjoyed it! The chicken and waffle was the highlight for me! The waffle had such a strong buttery, milky flavor and the fried chicken was insanely crispy, I loved it so much! The crab omelette was light and fluffy, though the ginger curry taste might not be for everyone. The brisket roti wrap was filling and flavorful, definitely a fun change from the usual brunch in the city.

Flavorful, elevated Thai food with romantic vibes for a date night! The heavy green curtains and booths create a beautiful and cozy vibe. All the main dishes were delicious. We got Double Mushroom Spring Roll $14, Folded Dumpling $15, Crab Curry $34, Wonton Tom Yum $24, Pad Thai $21, Goong Karee $25. The only miss was the dessert - it was lacking the high quality execution from the main dishes. I recommend making a reservation in advance because it’s pretty popular, even for a weeknight.

Amazing experience from beginning to end. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted. Even though we didn On January 1st at precisely 5:00 PM, we walked into Chadda without a reservation and without expectations. Newly opened in 2025, it had been sitting quietly on our list, more curiosity than commitment. What followed was a pleasant surprise. We skipped the cocktails and focused on the food. The dumplings, while serviceable, were the only note that felt restrained. Pleasant, but not particularly memorable. The entrées, however, told a different story. The duck in green curry was executed with precision. Perfectly cooked, tender with rendered fat that carried the depth of the curry beautifully. The sauce was layered and balanced, aromatic without overpowering the protein. Every element complemented the next; nothing competed, nothing fell flat. The beef tallow fried rice with steak and egg yolk was unapologetically indulgent. Rich but controlled, luxurious without crossing into greasy excess. The egg yolk folded seamlessly into the rice, creating a velvety texture. Thin slices of fried garlic added both visual elegance and a sharp, aromatic lift. That said, a few burnt fragments in the rice disrupted the otherwise refined execution , small, but noticeable. The décor is thoughtfully designed, the atmosphere warm and polished, and the service attentive without being intrusive. Chadda is a strong addition to New York’s Thai dining scene. If not for the charred bits in the fried rice, this would have been a five-star experience. As it stands, it’s impressive and absolutely worth a return visit to explore the rest of the menu.

Typical Thai place in NYC! I think the food was not bad but kind of too heavy for me. The wontons in the tom yum soup were delicious. The khao soy was pretty heavy in my opinion. The folded dumplings were ok, also nothing too special.

I came with two friends for lunch. They have several doors and I saw many people confused with which door to go in. The place is really nice and the staff were nice and kept our waters always refilled. The only downside was they seemed to be out of many dishes and as the day went on, I'd hear other dishes they would run out of from other tables ordering. Appetizers that we had ordered were taro fritter, calamari salted yolk, double mushroom spring roll and the papaya salad. We all loved the calamari with the salted egg dipping sauce, it was nice and crunchyv and easily out fav. The fritters and spring rolls were ok and a bit bland if there wasn't any sauce. And I loved the papaya salad which had a bit of a kick with the chili in it. The main we ordered were wonton tom yum soup, pad see ew, and crispy pork salt and pepper. The soup was sour with a bit of kick and plump wonton. The noodle was great but was a bit salty but perfect with a bit of white rice. The crispy pork was chunks of pork belly which I didn't expect to be really well cooked. I thought the fatty bits were going to be too fatty but it melted perfectly and I really enjoyed it. Finally for dessert, we got the Thai tea ice cream with toast. This was delicious with the hot and cold parts of it. We really wanted the chao guay for the grass jelly but they were out of it. Overall we all enjoyed everything and had a great time.

This is easily one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve tried in New York. The overall quality is consistently high, and every dish we ordered was excellent — no misses at all ✨ Short Rib Curry: The short ribs were incredibly tender and rich without being heavy. The spices were fragrant and well-balanced, and paired with the roasted vegetables, it was extremely satisfying and perfect with rice. Beef Tallow Fried Rice: Another standout dish. The portion of beef was generous, and the fried rice cooked in beef tallow had great depth of flavor. The addition of crispy fried garlic added extra texture and made every bite more interesting. Coco Thai Tea: Highly recommend this drink 🥥. The refreshing coconut water combined with Thai tea was amazing, and the chewy coconut meat on top added a fun texture. Super refreshing and memorable. Overall, the food came out at a good pace, and the service was efficient. Definitely make a reservation in advance. 👍

Bit of an underwhelming experience at Chada on a Monday night. Even though it wasn’t super busy they were 10 minutes behind on our reservation. The food was average at best; highlight was chicken pad kee mao and the lowlight was definitely the mushroom larb which was weirdly sour and had textures that didn’t make much sense together. The massaman curry was also underwhelming and the steamed pearl onion was completely undercooked so I got a mouthful of raw onion out of the blue too! At the end of our meal the waitress brought out the check and asked pretty insistently for a Google review including her name, which felt like it was in poor taste too. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend unless you’re in a pinch for a nice dinner!

Came here for dinner. Called in advance and was told no reservations were needed but when we showed up, there were no tables available so I had to wait a little bit. Waitress was nice, but Service felt a bit rushed. Appetizers were pretty good. The beef tartare was not your typical dish and was overpowered by the spice with no real flavor of the meat itself. We mentioned this to the waitress that we could not eat this and we’re just told OK and she took it away and still charged us. The Pad Se Ew you was OK. The Pad Thai was good. The duck breast was tender, however the curry was overpowering. Once we finished our entrées, we weren’t even offered any dessert, just the check came. As we do like Thai food, there are better options in the city with larger portions at more fair prices.

Who is rating this place five stars? Everything we ordered came out in under five minutes, which makes me think most dishes are pre-made and reheated. Unfortunately, they didn’t even do a great job at that—the short rib curry was barely lukewarm. Flavor-wise, everything was just okay, nothing memorable, especially considering how competitive the Thai food scene is in New York. The pork jowl was my least favorite dish: overly fatty, greasy, and not enjoyable. Service was fine but nothing noteworthy. The space itself is large, split into two separate rooms with different entrances. We were seated in what felt like a spillover section, and the décor looked pretty tacky. Overall, I really don’t understand the glowing reviews. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Honest review! The food was honestly pretty good but at the price point I wouldn’t necessarily say spectacular. I had to ask for the crab curry to be sent back as it came lukewarm , not hot. For a small bowl at around a $40 price point I wouldn’t say expecting a hot plate is a high expectation. Though it was probably the highlight of the meal (vermicelli that came with was great also) — note, super super spicy! The steamed branzino I expected it to be bigger and I felt the amount of broth wasn’t enough. The sticky rice ($6) per portion was hard and not really sticky, it was like I was eating chunks of say old dry rice. Thai ice tea was overly milky. Morning glory was a great side. Service could also be improved, lady at the front desk seemed impatient, we had a booking and arrived early for it (but was okay with waiting until our booking time as that’s fair) but was seated over 10mins past the booking. Overall, decent enough where I won’t say I would never return, but there must be a solid reason for me to tbh.

My partner and I visited expecting a nice, mid-to-upscale Thai dining experience. The basics like being seated and having our initial orders taken were handled well. Since we ordered drinks, we didn't need constant water refills, and we didn't require much extra attention throughout the meal—everything was fine on that front. However, the service at the end of our visit was exceptionally poor and really soured the entire experience. For a restaurant at this price point, the overall experience is key—that's what you're paying for. If the service falls apart, you might as well go to a chain like Applebee's. The food itself was decent, nothing special but solid. But when the final impression is this negative, it's hard to recommend. The lack of care at the end made us wonder if it had anything to do with our race—which, if true, would be a serious issue. I hope that wasn't the case, but the contrast in service was noticeable and disappointing. We left feeling frustrated and undervalued as customers. Great potential, but a major letdown.

EDIT: to reiterate, the steak was ice cold not lukewarm. I expected to be served something I can’t get at the grocery store. We came here for a birthday celebration and left with a unsatisfied feeling because the food was so mid. We ordered wontons and papaya salad for appetizer which the wonton looks and tasted like store bought frozen shumai, nothing special and really can’t believe our server said that’s one of the best appetizer on the menu. Papaya salad was okay, ingredients were fresh but personally papaya salad should be a refreshing dish but they added an egg yolk into it which made it heavy and grainy. For main dish, we ordered the steak and crab fried rice. The steak came out COLD. And I mean cold like it was sitting there for 20min. We asked if this was meant to be cold and our server said it it supposed to be room temperature. I’m not sure how I feel about paying $35 on a barely seasoned cold steak that was hard to chew. Crab fried rice was the best thing we had on the table, but nothing stood out about it. Typically, whenever I book a restaurant for a birthday celebration, i would usually get a dessert with a candle as a celebration. It’s definitely not an expectation or at fault of the restaurant but we did want to spend a nice birthday dinner at this restaurant and we wish they were thoughtful about it. I would never be recommending or coming back here, if you’re in a rush to grab something then it’s in a convenient location but the food is not worth your money.
