The empanadas are made FRESH. Probably the best empanada I’ve ever had. Word to me. The ahi (spicy sauce) was perfect too. Staff was friendly. Empanadas took atleast five min cuz they make it fresh and that made since why it was so Crispy*. Will def be back. ‼️hard to find parking in the area. Indoor seating. Bar inside for drinks. Lots of food options and drink options. You can have events there as well.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We intended to go to a different restaurant but it was closed due to the holiday and we happily ended up here. We shared the oxtail stew and the goat stew with rice and beans and plantains. Service was great and they made us feel right at home. I’ll come back every time I’m in Brooklyn.
One of the best Dominican restaurants in the area. I’ve gotten take-out from here many nights and have yet to have a complaint. There is another Dominican restaurant almost directly across the street but I hardly ever eat there for a couple of reasons mainly because the staff tends to be a bit cold and dismissive. At Mi Sabor Cafe I always feel welcomed.
The place has a lot of food behind a glass window, the food looks ok, I had black rice with black beans, they serve you a lot of rice, that's for sure. Lol. I had a whole chicken leg it was a little dry for sitting there so long. It really had no flavor. But it looks pretty clean, and like I said, they are not cheap with the food. The plates are well portioned. Yes, you can eat in.
The food is great place smells wonderful most times the service is great but there's one lil lady that seems like she doesn't like her job. I've actually been tempted to just cancel my order and walk out- but the food is so good. Other than that the place is wonderful.
I want to hear a long time ago. I ordered a pork shoulder sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes and usually it always comes with that they serve me bread with just meat. He made me wait another 20 minutes just to put lettuce in the sandwich didn't even put Tomatoes or the cheese that I asked for also I passed by this restaurant every single day it always has a C or D rating and considering that I see that food sit there all day long from morning to night yes I passed by this restaurant multiple times I say buyer beware
Pepper steak is gross tastes like liver and the old lady behind the counter was rude.
This restaurant was my go to for authentic Spanish cuisine, but unfortunately I will discontinue spending my hard earned money with an establishment that is lacking in courtesy, customer skills and over all good manners not to mention racial respect. These women don’t want to serve and since I’m African American I am finding that their attitude towards me and those like me is lacking in respect and proper courtesy. Not to mention the prices continue to change based on who is preparing your order. Each time another dollar is being added on. Never receive the same amount even though I order the same items. My advice to others is take your business and money elsewhere. There are too many authentic restaurants with kind and thankful employees who will appreciate you and your money and I’m sure better food.
Please check the food to make sure it’s not spoiled before serving to customers food I bought from here was spoiled
This place used to be the place to order Dominican food from for at least 10 blocks whichever way you looked. Now it’s one of the most disappointing places within Brooklyn. The food is subpar, some of the meet depending on what you ask still has some type of hair on it. My advice double check your chicken and chicharon, when it’s not full of hair is mostly undercooked or leftovers from the day prior. I am very disappointed to see what this place has turned into over the years, I used to deploy regularly and would come back home to order a bunch of food from this place, but I haven’t in the last 3 years. Today was my first time coming back because my usual place was out of the food I get, so I went to give them a try. The young plus size girl there left her motivation at home she’s not equipped with the attitude to handle customer service. The food felt sloppy and not so fresh kind you it is 10:27am at that point. I’m just so disappointed and I hope the owner sees this and make Mi Sabor Cafe the restaurant it used to be, I great place for friends, family and food.
I tried to order some food and they got short with at me and rolled their eyes cuz I didn't know how their combo system worked. I asked if I could buy what I saw and they said no cuz it's not a combo. I don't speak fluent Spanish but I understand enough to know they were insulting me behind the counter. I stood there for 15 more minutes waiting for help while some ladies argued about the price of rice. A guy walked in and fist bumped me and asked me for $4 cuz he was short on money. I left without food. I don't know man, guess I did it wrong. Literally just wanted red beans, chicken stew, and rice.
Terrible place and bad customer service. At first I used to buy food at this restaurant but I started to notice that they were changing the price of the food. Apparently they said even if you pay in cash they will still charge you taxes. I bought half of chicken and a soda which made a total of $10.00. Then the lady told me that I had to pay her $0.75 for taxes . I called a manager and he didn’t give a clear reason why they were charging extra.
No wonder the restaurant was empty…Staff are Rude, impatient, and lacked customer service including the so called “manager”. Instead of correcting his staff for lack of customer service, he was judgememental and unwelcoming. Sir, you are right. I don’t belong in that low rated poor service restaurant! I do not recommend! El Mosquito eres tu mujer!
Terrible. I go there to order, girl behind the counter doesn't acknowledge customers upon entering establishment. Doesn't make me want to buy anything. Food is mediocre at best. Definitely would NOT recommend to spend a single dollar in this establishment. Not even for a cold soda on a hot sunny day. Another time I went here and got overcharged after I explained exactly what I wanted. There will not be a 3rd time I go here. Other Spanish food spots around the area that are far better.
Worst shrimp mofongo ever came soupy in a salad bowl definitely not what I expected on a Good Friday never again. Salty as hell pictured below is theirs in a salad bowl in green liquid that was so horrible. Picture next to it is how it supposed to look. Never again then again look at the area this restaurant is in.
Despite the tastefulness (maybe it’s cause of the hunger) My Delivery through Uber Eats order was confused for a pick up. This store refused to pickup my calls. When they finally did they pretend to act as if there was a miscommunication and both rude and unprofessional - told me to come pick up my order because There were multiple “night owl driver changes” notifications sent, causing the delivery to be delayed. They hung up the call, and did not answer any returned calls. Had to connect with Uber eats driver and meet him halfway to pick up cold food with missing items from order. Until they improve their quality of service and attention to details they are not getting a better rating
