Great place for a breakfast bagel! Service was super quick and polite. They also offer muffins, coffee, and xiao long bao, which I will have to try next time I visit. There are three self order kiosks, but you can also just tell the staff what you want. Tables are available, but they tend to get more crowded later in the morning. Overall, a solid choice for a quick breakfast.
The breakfast bagels are superb...soft and fresh every single time. And my son loves the vegan Chinese menu. It is such a large selection and the food is always great tasting and fresh...we order at least 3 times a week
I order bagels from here all the time and love that you can order lox by the quarter pound. my orders always arrive quickly and are accurate. Occasionally, I'll order their Chinese food as well which is solid. Less greasy than some other local spots. Also I cannot say enough good things about their vegan offerings. This is definitely a go to for brunch or dinner if we need quick food that accommodates a variety of diets.
I’ve been coming here for the past 15 years on and off and it’s one of my favourite bagel places in the city. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is very delicious. The interior used to be nicer IMHO and I definitely miss the old salad bar but other than that still a great place.
Bagels, noodles, dumplings, and smoothies and they do ALL of it well. I’ve had so many delicious things at Wu & Nussbaum and I’ve enjoyed all of it. I love their pan fried pork dumplings and general tso’s and i love their BLT bagel and peanut butter smoothie. Definitely a great way to make multiple parties happy.
I recently visited Wu and Nussbaum mainly because of their vegan items advertised on their store front sign. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and portions sizes. I tried their pan fried dumplings, a seaweed salad (on a generous serving size bowl) and their delicious and unbelievable general tso unchicken (made with seitan). I also tried their refreshing mango iced tea. Undoubtedly, will be ordering from here again and again. This place is also on grubhup if you live nearby Columbia University area.
Fantastic restaurant! Crazy concept Asian-Jewish fusion food but it somehow works and both cuisines are absolutely delicious!! I somehow didn't end up trying this place for a year living right across the street but now this place is my go to for bagels and Chinese food alike. Their sausage egg and cheese bagel is fantastic and would firmly attest that this is the best bagel you can get in the Morningside Heights neighborhood. But be warned, the bagels are no longer available in the evening when they switch to solely Asian cuisine. They even have options with Impossible meat although I have yet to try these dishes yet. Could not recommend this place enough as my go to for bagels and a great place to get Asian food!
They got my bagel order wrong but it was still tasty and I didn’t have to wait to long. The place had no lines at 10:30 am on a Saturday so recommended going here for a quick breakfast on the go over other bagel shops
Wu and Nuss is a great spot to snag some breakfast and I personally loved the BEC. It’s very tasty and fills you up. The only issue I have is with the coffee. I got iced coffee with milk and boy was there a ton of milk. It honestly looked like I was having a little coffee with my milk if you know what I mean. Overall good bagels but I would stay away from the coffee
There are two ways to contemplate this eclectic locale. You can either wonder about the synthesis of cultures and styles- Jewish and Chinese, paper lanterns and minimalist chic- or you can simply indulge yourself in the delicious, stomach-filling bagels and soft, creamy noodles. I do wish this place had a little more stylized ambiance, but it's not meant to be a place that one stays in for an extended period of time. Come in early in the morning, when the line is short, grab yourself a sumptuous, tantalizing breakfast bagel, and enjoy. The bagels might not be the best in New York City, but considering the high standard of bagels in this city, that's not necessarily a failing. I adore how plump and rich the breakfast bagels are. You can get two servings out of one single breakfast bagel if you're not too hungry. Both the servings will be absolutely satisfying.
Make sure to check your order before you leave! I was rushing to catch a train and didn’t double-check mine. I ordered a BLT with turkey bacon and no mayo, but the order was incorrect. The bacon didn’t seem fully cooked, and there was mayo on the sandwich. :(
I’ve been going to Wu Nussbaum, consistently for the past 6 months, even though the bagels are B minus. The coffee is good; the service is not. They have tables and counters, which is convenient. My order always was Bagel with Cream Cheese, no toasted. Today, it came with jelly which I did not order, went to the counter explained that the “server” proceeded to grab my order tossed it and said “you need to order another one”. Either my honest mistake or theirs, don’t know. Again, I’ve been going to Wu Nussbaum CONSISTENTLY for the past 6 months and each time I left at least 15% tip. I guess they don’t need my business or my tips. Many places around.
I recently ordered dinner online for pick up. the shopping cart showed a balance of about $55. With tax it should have been about $60. I was surprised after i used apple pay to find out they added a 20% tip. I want to be asked if i want to tip and how much. This is the second time this has happened with this restaurant. Immediately after i found out the total was over $68.00 i tried to cancel the order with no luck. This is just wrong!! Feb 25 update. I received an apologetic response to my original post. They asked me to send them an email because they wanted the details. I think the details are pretty clear here, but I sent them the details via email again. Never got a response.
I hardly ever leave reviews. But this was an absolute disaster, and I don’t even care if their management or owners make any moves; I just want to inform other patrons and hopefully advise on where else to spend your money and time. This afternoon, I came in for my lunch as I usually do. I was seated and eating at the tables right in front of the service counter and kiosks, and was able to observe the dismal, disappointing, disgusting, and rude treatment from the service workers to the guests. Several guests had made orders on a certain machine, and when they went to ask how long their orders would take, were informed that their orders never made it through and they will have to make the order and pay again. Obviously, that is ridiculous, and I watched as the patrons attempted to show proof that they had paid and simply wanted to either receive their food, or even just the bare minimum adequate explanation of what had happened. Instead - and forgive my descriptions here - the shortest of the servers continually rolled her eyes and dismissed the patrons, saying that if they would not pay again then they would not receive service; but they had already paid for the food! Just because the restaurant is having issues with the kiosk accepting and sending orders to the kitchen, does not make it acceptable to interrupt patrons, dismiss them loudly and rudely, and basically ignore them unless they paid -AGAIN- for the same meal! The other two servers - both wearing glasses, and one was a black person - simply stood awkwardly and the black one attempted to apologise but was told to ignore the patrons! In conclusion, I understand; I understand that as paying customers, we do not have the right to receive good service. I understand. Thank you to Wu and Nussbaum for letting me know. If you want a coffee place that won’t make you wait 20-30 minutes for a coffee and bagel because they just so happen to also serve Chinese food, just head across to Blue Bottle. For the Chinese food, head to Chinatown.
This place was a huge disappointment. I never had such a bad bagel in all of NYC. I was so excited to come here, but the bagel had no flavor and the veggie cream cheese was also terrible. Not to mention that I paid an additional .50 cents to have my bagel scooped and it was NOT SCOOPED. Sort of ridiculous to even charge for such a thing, but at least do what you’re charging me for. I’d never go back here for a bagel ever again. What a disappointment for NYC.
At about noon today (10/4), I ordered a bagel with cream cheese (paid $1.25 extra), and this is what they gave me: a tiny smear of cream cheese on a burned bagel. I ate a few bites then politely asked for some cream cheese on the side, but they refused, and although I’d already paid extra for cream cheese, they charged me $4.99 for a tiny dollop of cream cheese. They were unfriendly and obviously avoiding any responsibility for their lack of attention to an order. They have messed up my order in some way almost every time, but this was taking it way too far for me not to write a review. Wu and Nussbaum, fix your customer care and please make your orders with some sort of effort.
This restaurant appeared on Uber Eats as Pick-a-Bagel and they are not. Ordered three bagels and ALL were wrong and incorrect. Delivery man didn’t even knock on the door. Just left the food outside in the floor.
Look, the bagels are OK (like, B-) and the people are nice, but the restaurant makes you order through a screen and they charge for salt, pepper, and ketchup. Let me say that again, they CHARGE FIFTY CENTS FOR SALT AND PEPPER and A DOLLAR FOR KETCHUP. Absolutely unbelievable. What horrendous ownership. It is completely unjustifiable to charge people extra for properly seasoned food. One star, sir.
Absolutely filthy. They use this rag to clean the floor and then place the rag on top of the wooden food preparation board. After bringing this up to their attention, they have the decency to defend themselves saying that the food prep board is currently not being used to make food, so it’s ok… How is this acceptable????
