Definitely coming back. It gives you the early 2000's vibe, very clean. Service is on point and food 🙌🙌 hands down to the Chef 👨🍳 👩🍳
Chicken wings and pancakes are real good. Hostess was really kind too. Thanks again <3
Our 2nd visit. Our server was the original owner. This restaurant was originally located by Hugh Grant circle back in the 70s -90's. I recommend this place if you want a good fast relaxation atmosphere
This place was great I rate it on my own personal experience an 8/10 I’ve only been here twice but is well worth my money and food is good I would say what I loved the most about the place was the staff the gentleman that help me was quick efficient and made sure we was great I would continue to come back to this diner and let me mention there a certain time around the holidays where they serve pumpkin pancakes it’s a must try but here I have a veggie panini potato salad and coleslaw my lady had French toast sausage bacon and scramble eggs was worth the visit come on down my people show love to you local businesses and I’ll end it with this I only paid $37 for two people and yes don’t forget to leave this amazing costumer service a tip GODBLESS
Ellie’s has been a classic Parkchester spot since I was in highschool. Now as an adult, I still frequent this cozy diner with my friends! I am a creature of habit so I always get a breakfast platter and I’m never disappointed! The servers are kind and attentive! Also, not for nothing but they have great portions!
The first thing the staff is really nice good people. The interior is very spacious, so you can bring plenty of people to dine. The service is great, too. The food was cooked just right. No complaints. If you want real food, stop by this diner and avoid the fast food stuff around the corner.
The food is always really good. There's a waitress there that is absolutely great. It seems like she was born to host/waitress. I only gave 4 stars because the bathrooms and place in general really needs some updating.
Had a delicious breakfast this morning. Took 1 star off because of the extremely slow service. Waited over 15 minutes before waitress came to the table, then had to wait 25 more minutes for the food to arrive. In their defense the restaurant was crowded but still service should be quicker.
So...the food is...meh? I ordered chicken marinara with melted mozzarella. The chicken seemed undercooked. My wife had a cheeseburger. They have hunts ketchup. [Insert Personal Opinion Here] As a diner, they get 3 stars because the food is edible, the bathroom needs a makeover and the prices...you could spend much less at almost any other diner nearby and get a much higher quality meal. The staff is ultra friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is comfy, with an old timey family vibe. Never seems crowded. Plenty of seating for families.
Let me start off with saying the place is old and they don’t even offer you a receipt and the food is not great. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese. I had to give them the sandwich back two times for them to even melt the cheese this was supposed to be a bacon, egg and cheese with extra bacon .The bacon was very salty, the bread was hard, and the whole sandwich was very dry. overcooked ! bacon chips ! They are very much out of line..$9.75 I really want my money back, but I ate the other half due to hunger. You can tell the attitude of the staff that they really don’t care of quality, food or quality customer service. I will not recommend this place. Don’t waste your money or your time.
I really wanted to like this place, Firstly the entrance is stairs going down which was difficult for my disabled child. The restroom is also in a basement setting. The restaurant overall feels stuffy almost hard to breathe in. As far as food I ordered a turkey burger which unfortunately had little to no flavor. The kids meals are the same price as the regular menu meals. No refills on kids drinks or drinks in general from the fountain which is absurd.. especially if your paying 5$ for a drink. The waiter was not as attentive as he should have been unfortunately. As far as the chocolate chip pancakes my child said it tasted plain. Overall would not recommend. Food quality doesn’t match for the prices they charge.
I'll give to this place only 2 stars and, the reason is for the quality of the food. Nowadays people are changing their eating habits for good, like me, looking for healthy options and eating food that helps my system to run better each day. This place seems to be stuck on the 70's, same old greasy breakfast. I asked for almond milk since regular one hit me hard in my stomach (I'm lactose intolerant). I asked the waiter who was super attentive and. apparetnly he had his own bottle for his personal use, he said to me he's lactose intolerante too, and, he shared it with me, that's what I called service. Alvaro ( I believe it's his name ) went extra mile helping me during my breakfast. He was very cool and friendly, opposite to his co-worker, the waitress who looks sad and unhappy. The food, as I said before, is not good. Too much fat in there. I hope they take the consideration and make some changes in the menu as I've seen a lot of elderly people eating there and this type of food is not good for them.
This place is falling apart. I’ve been coming here for years and it keeps getting worse. No attention to cleanliness. Restroom air vents disgusting, booths are falling apart, condiments holders are rusty like they’re from the 80s. Now... to be fair I believe their customer service is great and their food as well. I’m just thinking if things are falling apart (rusty and dirty) in the front of the house... imagine the back of the house (kitchen).
1. I shouldn’t have to rebuild/correct a sandwich because you don’t read requests. 2. How do you serve lettuce like this?
Just do yourself a favor and don’t even come here. The servers are all over the place and not attentive the food quality is below average. You will never get the same recipe for the same dish. The portions are super small. The original owners on which is the new owner is rude. The crazy thing is everyone looks for tips, but you have to literally go up and get your own condiments etc. You have to wait on anything to be brought to you because the servers sit you down in their section Take your order overcharge you and then wait for good tip well I got a tip be more customer appreciated and friendly. And I hate that I have to leave this review, but unfortunately enough is enough. I’m literally in this diner every other day and I never complain. I complain when my order is overcooked over seasoned under seasoned or isn’t right but I have a wrong order get overcharged and then be dismissed by a rude nasty owner. Unacceptable. There’s plenty of other places I can spend my hard earned money.
The quality of the food has really taken a nose dive. The hash browns were completely soaked in oil. The home fries (potatoes) tasted as if they were in a dirty fridge for weeks. The pancake was oily and had a smelly aftertaste. The Canadian bacon was fried... ?? Overall not a good experience I used to be a regular but I stopped coming when their quality started going down. Poached eggs ... We're what they should have been. It's hard to get this one wrong. Overall disappointed in the food, the ingredients, and lack of freshness. Probably won't return or friend friends and family here.
So i came here with my siblings for a quick lunch. I ordered chicken wings for appetizer, a Texas burger deluxe, chicken panini, and chicken quesadilla with rice and beans. The chicken wings never came and the server asked while giving entrees if we still wanted the wings. We said no as it had already been 20+ minutes of waiting. I asked where my panini was as they had served me grilled chicken on hero bread. The server told me that they do not have a panini press. I proceeded to say why there are paninis on the menu if they do not own a press or can actually make it. She did not have an answer. Sandwich was not good. My brother had the burger as you can see in the picture. Burger was extremely well done, dry and it literally tasted like NYC school lunch. The only good thing was the order of rice. The beans tasted like straight canned beans that were poured and warmed up. This is my last time at Ellie’s Diner, which is a shame as it is the only diner in Parkchester. The server did remove my “panini” from the bill, so I left her a 16% tip. Do not recommend this place.
The worse diner ever in Parkchester. A few weeks ago I went to Ellie's diner and the experience wasn't good at all. I ordered ribs that was on the menu and got three pieces of bones which I believed was pork neck bones covered with sauce. That costed me $15.00 plus I had to pay the rice separate. What ever it was it didn't taste good at all. Be aware when ordering anything that says RIBS at Ellie's. The food is not tasty
