My family and I enjoyed brunch at this wonderful spot. The decor is lovely, with its hint of blues throughout the restaurant and a section with super cool merch. I truly enjoyed the Zorba plate - it’s amazing. Also the staff- SO friendly, kind and helpful. I can’t say enough good things. A lively spot with great food - looking forward to dining at Baby Blues Luncheonette again! PS- very kid friendly! High hairs are provided. We brought the kiddos and they had a blast!
The hottest brunch spot in town. Expect waits of 1hr+ on weekends. A lovely Greek diner with a great menu. We went with the avocado toast and watermelon salad, though plan to go back for the lox / feta bagel and banana bowl. You can’t miss this spot! Pick up a pastry at Win Son down the road while you’re waiting, too.
I visited the place during the weekday for the breakfast. It wasn't that busy. Everything is delicious! Portions are not that big but after pancakes you are full. I would definitely recommend getting the pancakes after the meal. Place is cozy and they have interesting decorations on the tables.
Omg my server was so good! Food was so good! I regret having to rush out of there because I had somewhere to be but wow. The blueberries and cream pancakes were phenomenal. Dare I say they were a major showstopper? The eggs looked so Orange (I didn’t order them, I saw someone else have them. They were definitely pasture raised). I love that the server didn’t try to take the menu away from me. I know it’s common to keep space on the table, but I need the menu by me so I can think about it if I want something else. It’s really the little things which makes this place so great.
The food here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Cheers to the chefs and to the staff! They were so welcoming… also amazing atmosphere and music! Can’t wait to come back!
Ate here for a post run brunch and it was amazing!🤩 Super cute diner vibe with unique S&P sets at each table. From what I’ve heard, it’s usually packed, but we went on a Wednesday at open and had no wait. My friend and I shared the baklava banana bread and the sampler plate. Both were drool worthy, but definitely recommend ordering extra bread.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly. The hostess was friendly, and in a city filled with places that make you feel like it’s a privilege for you to be there, it makes all the difference. Food was delicious, atmosphere inviting (North Sea Jazz Fest posters and a wall of VHS tapes? Inspired!) Will def be back again soon!
Absolutely phenomenal. I found this goldmine on instagram, and found it so intriguing. Will definitely return. The food attached below is the most popular plate, everyone is ordering it. And it's so fantastic, i just had a spiritual experience. Thank you staff for the outstanding service.
Really solid place with a vibe that’s incredibly cute and adorable. The food is absolutely excellent and health conscious. That said, it’s a very small kitchen in the back, so when it’s busy food can take a while to come. If you’re not in a rush just sit back and talk with your friends and enjoy the atmosphere!
We have been coming to Baby Blues for 1 year now and we couldn’t be more grateful for the service and delicious food! The people at Baby Blues are what add to the experience and keep us coming back! It feels like a family! Sam at the door always makes us feel seen!!! She remembers our name and asks how we are doing, and it truly feels like that quintessential neighborhood joint experience! 10/10 recommend!!
Amazing new neighborhood spot! Was pleasantly surprised with all the healthy options. The banana date shake is SO good !! Also baklava banana bread is a must. Can’t go wrong with the hits plate, you get a little tasting of a bunch of items. Definitely go during the week it’s a bit more chill, weekend it’s usually a long wait but honestly worth it
This is a must-go spot for me in Brooklyn, I was blown away. Every item we got was stellar, but the Chicken Club was an absolute stand out. I think it might be in the running for my favorite sandwich in nyc. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is also delicious and a standout. Other good items that I can recommend would be the HLT (Halloumi, Lettuce, Tomato sandwich), the dips platter, and the baklava banana bread. Will be back very soon
I am in town for a couple of days and this restaurant was close to my Airbnb! The food was simply delicious! The Zobra plate had the right amount of flavor yet simple, clean and delicious. The banana pancakes were chef’s kiss! I will be back!
The Michelin grading system is based on 3 stars, 3 being that you should basically travel the world to eat the food at said establishment. Let me take you through my Michelin grading of this restaurant. I rate it 4 stars. 1. The staff. Costa was one of the owners and actually spoke to us for 15 minutes to explain what we should eat. (Since we were excited about everything). 2. The food obviously. My soft scrambled eggs were little clouds on the edge of heaven. My first born will be named after the Baklava banana bread with maple walnut ricotta. And the baby cakes? You can guess what I thought of them. 3. You guys are great interior decorators. The posters really spoke to us on so many levels. The only con? The sheer wait of 45 minutes to get the opportunity to eat this life changing cuisine. But supply and demand, I guess. And boy are they IN demand. By me and the whole world of intelligent people. I love this restaurant and I want to thank Costa and the staff for making such delicious food. You guys rock.
Loved it here! Great veggie options and the food came quick as well despite it being busy. There is a wait if you don’t want to sit at the bar but there’s a good reason so many people want to eat here! Credits to Gib who worked as a server and as a chef, you made our experience here a lot more fun.
I like to sit at the bar and play my NYT Connections. Good prices, good vibes. No espresso so don’t even try ya’ll but the regular coffee is good it makes me feel like a 65 yr old man w a newspaper if you know what I mean.
One of the must go-to spots in the area. Amazing food, chill neighborhood vibes, and staff to match. The hostess is excellent and made the wait super pleasant. Especially given the restaurants popularity and how many people are trying to sit. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Anyone who rates this place a negative is probably a tourist and expects to be treated like royalty. Definitely hit up if you haven’t already.
Such a cute spot with great food! Shoutout to our server Gib, who upon hearing we were Dutch immediately made effort to have a nice conversation. He genuinely the experience even better. Such a nice guy! Bedankt :)
Was so glad we decided to go here for a late Sunday brunch. Every element of our meal was outstanding and the quality of the ingredients was front and center. Our highlights were the date shake, the frappe, the watermelon salad, the banana bread, and the zorba plate but judging by what we saw at the table next to us you probably can’t go wrong.
Not enough tables for the crowd. Door left open too long. Tables are generous, almost too big. Good was with writing home about. Decidedly with the visit.
Best diner in all of Brooklyn. Been to baby blues like 6-7 times now and every time it gets better. The staff is extremely friendly and the same familiar faces every day. Hard workers and love to recognize some folks in the neighborhood. I’ve tried to get something different on the menu every time but always come back to the lamb burger. Chicken club, zorba plate, fancy BEC, the dips, banana pancakes, and everything else I’ve tried have actually been unbelievable. Also the Greek potatoes are outstanding. To top it off they have the coolest merch. Definitely worth a trip but I’m lucky to have this be my neighborhood spot.
Went without reservations and got there right when they opened and we only waited about 30 minutes. It’s worth the wait. There’s a reason the line is long. The food is fresh and delicious. The banana bread is 🔥. The coffee is delicious. Only complaint is the place is small and very crowded. The tables and chairs are very close to each other.
Everything was great. Excellent blueberry pancakes. I think they even have real maple syrup?? Good flavors, vibes, and service. They should really rename it to “Baby Blues Diner”. It’s essentially a really well executed diner. There aren’t any other diners in the area.
Hands down one of my favorite places to grab breakfast or brunch. Service and food it top notch, the atmosphere and decor is fun, retro a whimsical. Do yourself a favor and come try this place out. They keep it simple and done well. I recommend the banana baklava pancakes, scrambled eggs are a must.
I’m from abroad and came across this restaurant on social media. I asked my friend who lives in New York to check it out with me, and we were beyond pleased. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff incredibly friendly, and the food absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next visit! 😊😋
My new go-to brunch spot. Honestly, I would come back everyday if I could. Atmosphere transports you to an old New York, Greek styled diner with some quirky twists. The food menu has a wide breadth with quite honestly everything you would want to eat for brunch on it. Love when there are healthy options! The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. The best thing I ordered was the Date shake, I haven’t had anything as good as that in YEARS. Also, I highly recommend the Zorba plate along with the Kalimera salad. So happy to have this gem in the neighborhood!
Had a fire breakfast here on a Friday morning- came before 10am and there was no wait with plenty of seating available. The interior is so cute and photogenic, and the food was 10/10. Great presentation and delicious. We ordered the Zorba plate and Plato’s plate, both were filling packed with flavor. I also recommend the fresh watermelon juice and coffee frappe to drink. I’ll definitely be back to try the other items on the menu
This is a cozy and charming luncheonette, with a menu full of classic diner food with a Greek-inspired twist. It's a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The setting is retro and vintage in a way that's endearing and comfortable; the vibes are nostalgic, and the baby blue interior and quaint tchotchkes add to that. Something to know is that only walk-ins are allowed. If you get to the restaurant and there is no seating available, your phone number will be taken down to contact you soon when seating becomes available for you. Reservations are not taken beforehand. While some may complain about this, this choice actually further adds to the old-timey charm of this place. The HLT and Zorba plate are my two favorites. But no food choice here is a bad one. The staff and service are great. The food is great. The vibes are great. Highly recommend.
Great vibe, great food, great service. What more could you ask for? Off the bat, the decor is fun and has a lot of character, from random Greek references to pop culture, there is a lot to see. The seating area is limited so be aware that there may be a wait during peak times. The service is attentive and friendly but what really shines is the food. We ordered the blueberry pancakes, the grilled cheese w/ tomato soup, Plato's plate and zorba's plate and they did not disappoint. Typically, our menu options may seem heavy, but the kitchen has mastered ways to make these dishes flavorful and light. I don't know if it's the added microgreens or something else, but we left happy, full and not feeling like we ate grease and butter. Family outing, breakfast meet-up or date, this isba great option!
I thought the best diner is Sunday in Brooklyn. But this…. This is REALLY FREAKING GOOD! Is the line worth it? Maybe if you really crave a solid bfast/brunch food. If you time it right you might not have to wait that long since they only allow customer to sit up to 1hr on the weekends. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Very retro and clean. Although I have the service 4 stars, I wish I could be given 4,5. I’m sorry it’s not 5 bc our food came very long.. totally understand that they’re very busy. But when the person next to you that ordered the same time got their food 15min sooner.. and the 4 new customers that ordered 6 different things next to you got their food within 5min … I just felt some type of way. Maybe a hiccup, but at least come to us and tell us that the food is coming or we can order an appetizer. But this won’t deter me from coming back. It’s def a hidden gem and highly recommended!
Baby Blues has the best restaurant vibes I've ever experienced. The decor is perfectly curated, creating an incredible, unique atmosphere. The food was also a huge hit. Everything was delicious, and I especially appreciated the healthy options. Plus, the portions are big, so it's a great place to order a few things for the table to share.
I LOVE THIS PLACE !! Hands down the best brunch spot in all of NYC. The Plato’s plate and Blueberry pancakes were very satisfying (quality & portions were perfect). Service was great and staff was very kind. The space is beautifully decorated and I love the baby blue theme. There wasn’t a wait when I went last time but it’s definitely worth waiting if there is a queue. I’ve been here a few times now and it’s consistently a 10 / 10. Must order when you go: Frappe Plato / Zorba plate Baklava banana bread
Good food, casual but cute atmosphere - Zorba plate was delicious, but honestly the sandwich (I think goat finger?) stole the show it was so so good. It was goat cheese, some kind of sweet jam and it was perfect. Very very long lines so would recommend going during off peak times (aka not saturday and sunday morning) otherwise you may be waiting for over an hour - they do not take resos - worth waiting but one time I went the hospitality was not great because the staff were likely overwhelmed and since they’re busy they don’t “need” your business so that sucked a bit, but all in all yummy spot, nice staff in a general sense, and good spot to have in the neighborhood!
thoroughly enjoyed everything about this diner. from the space to the service everything was flawless and as an aficionado of diners i love how they’re doing some traditional style greek food without frills or breaking the bank. everything was perfect literally. frothy coffee i asked not too sweet was dope, the breakfast plates filled me up, and the baklava flared pancakes just topped it off. can’t wait to come back
Fantastic breakfast, lunch, brunch, food, and a unique and quite camp restaurant. Definitely recommend this place and we will be back. The food was fantastic and you could tell they used good quality ingredients. The Zorba platter was filling, fresh, and hit the spot. The blueberry baby cakes were amazing. There was a funny picture frame in the bathroom titled Baby of the year with a Google review of someone who said the food was great, but the service was bad. Just found that funny; nothing else to say.
Stopped by on a random weekday and waited for about 15 minutes. The restaurant has cute retro diner vibes, it's a small space, and our server was friendly. There are a lot of healthy options to choose from. We ordered the Zorba Plate, Like a Greek Bagel, Lamb Burger, Blueberry Baby Cakes, and a frappe. Zorba Plate - Loved the variety, but the potatoes took up the majority of the plate. Still, everything was really good and well-seasoned. I just wish it came with more pieces of halloumi. Like a Greek Bagel - Came with a long piece of crispy sourdough instead of an actual bagel. It was creamy and zesty, served with a side of smoked salmon. Blueberry Baby Cakes - Fluffy and amazing; no syrup needed. So good! Will be back if I venture out to Williamsburg again.
Cute spot with comforting food. This restaurant is styled as a traditional luncheonette with a counter and table seating. The atmosphere is definitely a highlight but the space is small and I can imagine it fills up VERY quickly on weekends. On this visit we enjoyed the banana date shake, an iced coffee, the Sparta plate, the Zorba plate, the blueberry and cream pancakes and the baklava banana waffles. The banana date shake is rich and creamy with a perfect, deep sweetness from the dates and a comforting scent from the banana. The shake should be served with a larger/boba straw as it is impossible to drink through the one provided. There were some larger date chunks at the bottom that should have been blended a bit more. The iced coffee was notable as it was nicely sweet even without sugar. I really enjoyed my coffee. The Sparta plate is served with savory eggplant patties that provide a texture reminiscent of sausage patties. The eggs served at this restaurant are visible good quality with golden orange yolks and rich velvety textures. There is also a red pepper sauce which works well with everything on the plate. The plate is flavorful but I would probably choose a different option next time. The serving is too light and I am not vegetarian so there isn’t a reason for me to get it again. The zorba plate is much heavier and just as delicious. A plate with halloumi is always appreciated and this dish delivers on all fronts of flavor. The baklava banana waffle is great but the description is a bit off. I wouldn’t say it’s heavily baklava, more candied pecans/walnuts. Delicious but it would be complete with a honey forward butter syrup. The flavor profile just needed some completion. The blueberry and cream pancakes are fluffy and tender. The blueberries are excellent quality and the cream cuts through the heavy textures to balance the dish. Really delicious and classic. The price point here is JUST a little bit high. I had two full plates of food and had room to spare when I left. For two people it was over $100 which is just a lot for breakfast food and nothing here is hefty.
Baby Blues Luncheonette definitely lives up to the hype. When we arrived, it was already pretty crowded, and for good reason. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait especially on a Sunday around 11:30 a.m. like we did. We ended up waiting about two hours, but they do send you a notification when your table’s ready, and they also show you how many parties are ahead of you, which makes the wait feel a bit more manageable. The place itself is small, and tables are pretty close together, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, and the prices are very reasonable. My partner got the “Plato’s Plate,” and I went for the “Chicken Club.” Both were fantastic. My partner gave her dish a 9/10, and I’d give mine the same rating. The price-to-quality ratio was excellent, and we had no complaints. The only small note from my partner was that the bacon on her plate was a bit greasy, but it wasn’t a big deal. We also shared a side of “Greek Potatoes and Tzatziki.” That dish was another 9/10. The only downside was that there wasn’t quite enough tzatziki for all the potatoes, so I’d recommend asking for extra on the side if you order it. No real issue though, just a small suggestion. We had an “Iced Coffee” and a “Regular Coffee” with our meal, and both were spot on. One more thing: we were treated to a complimentary dish of fresh strawberries and blueberries with whipped cream (as you can see in the photo I included). We’re not sure what it was called, but it was light, refreshing, and delicious. Easily a 10/10, and I’d highly recommend it if you get the chance. The service was also excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and even the hostess deserves a shoutout. We arrived a bit late for our seating time, but she was understanding and still got us a table despite it being so busy. Really appreciated that. The bill was pretty reasonable for everything we got, and I left a $15 tip because of the great service and the complimentary fruit bowl. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. The wait time can be long (ours was 2 hours), but it’s totally worth it when you consider the quality of the food and the prices. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend you give it a try too! Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Baby Blues Luncheonette – A True Williamsburg Gem One of the best brunch experiences we’ve had in NYC. Baby Blues Luncheonette has that rare mix of charm, flavor, and personality that makes it feel like an instant classic. The atmosphere is vintage, cozy, and full of character—think hanging plants, old-school decor, and art that brings the space to life. It’s casual but cool, and the vibe is welcoming from the second you walk in. We ordered: • Baklava Banana Pancakes – unbelievably good, warm and gooey with just the right balance of flavors • Halloumi Platter – fresh, light, and perfectly Mediterranean • Goat + Fig Sandwich – sweet and savory in the best way • Scrambled Eggs & Sides – simple dishes done really well Every bite was packed with flavor. We didn’t even stop to take photos—just ate everything immediately, which says it all. Service was also fantastic. Lily took care of us and made the whole experience even better with her warmth and attentiveness. Fast service, amazing food, and a vibe that makes you want to hang out all day. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Williamsburg, this spot is a must. We’ll definitely be back.
Great brunch options and quality of food. Only downside is that the wait can be a little long. I went on a Saturday at 12pm and was seated at 1:45pm.
Great brunch spot, loved the outdoor seating . All of the food was decent, service was a little wonky. There will be a wait most likely on a weekend or Friday but it’s worth it. The baklava banana bread and the grilled cheese sandwiches were the standouts. Would definitely come back here!
Retro diner with decent food. The blueberry baby cakes were a standout -- so perfectly fluffy that I didn't even realize I forgot the maple syrup halfway through! The lamb smash burger was stellar. It came with a side of potatoes that were a tad on the greasy side. If you got the 1 in 5 chance of getting the crispy ones, they were amazing, but the 4 in 5 chance of getting an oil soaked potato was not worth it -- I would sub for a salad instead. The eggplant fritters were ... edible? Zero crisp, zero flavor. If something is on the menu and I'm waiting an hour for it, I think it should at least taste like something. I would come here again if I was in the neighborhood and there was no wait. But definitely not worth the wait.
I adore this cute Mediterranean brunch spot in Williamsburg! I’m honestly not normally a brunch person, but this place serves fresh and healthy Mediterranean style brunch food. I got the Zorba plate and the banana bread and both were so delicious! The one downside is that they don’t take reservations, so I recommend coming early to ensure you’re not waiting for too long. It was a small space and a little cramped, but overall I’d come back again.
getting into this place is sheer luck on weekends. they don’t take reservations, and close the waitlist randomly. I’ve been multiple occasions both morning + afternoon and have been turned away. wish they just took reservations or at least let you join the waitlist online before heading over. unfortunately I work full time and can’t come during the week. the food is great if you can get it though.
I don't get it why people love this place so much... maybe I ordered wrong menu?? What I ordered were blueberry pancake, something potatoes, banana bread, chia pudding and grilled cheese and tomato soup with 2 frappe and watermelon mint. Waited 1hr and 25min to be seated. They don't show you how many people there are in front of you.. they will just text you whenever it's your turn. Price of the dish are quite reasonable compared to the others. Seats are very near to each other... It must be more satisfied if I had to wait maybe 15-30min, but definitely not worth it to wait more than an hour... whoever planning to try this place, come early as soon as they open 😂
Although this is my second time at Baby Blues, the reason i keep coming back is because the food is really good. Other than that, all the servers/managers/ people working there give you the vibe that they would rather be ANYWHERE except at work. Just terrible service and attitudes from every employee, sucks since the place is really good. They literally cant be bothered to even seat you, Do better….
When do baby blues after hearing about the food and Viking through Williamsburg and I sat down and had a delicious frappe. What are the best coffees I've had in a long time especially of the ice variety. Absolutely delicious. I got the breakfast with the potatoes and they were a little greasy for my liking but the flavor was good. Service was excellent everyone was super kind and the food came quickly. The burger was solid but a little overpriced for what it was. On another day I would try the breakfast and I feel like that might be the way.
Really wanted to like this place but after I saw one of the waitresses go into the kitchen and put her bare hand in the granola and coconut containers (not once but twice) to make her own personal breakfast that she then ate facing the restaurant floor I simply cannot in good faith return. After I confronted her about her behaviour she just rudely said “was there anything else you needed?” The food is decent but why pay $45 for breakfast just to be grossed out and have bad service. Nostalgic decor is cute !
I was excited to try this place since it’s all over social media, but was disappointed by many parts of the experience. My friend and I dined on Monday afternoon. We put our names down and waited 30 minutes. When we were seated and ready to order we were notified that they were out of smoked salmon, potatoes and bacon… and the one thing I wanted was the smoked salmon feta toast. I ordered the halloumi sandwich and paid extra to get a runny egg and avocado on the sandwich. Instead of avocado, it arrived with bacon (which they were allegedly out of… and that I did not want) and a fully hard, fried egg. Also, I wanted to share a sweet breakfast item with my friend. We didn’t see pancakes on the menu so got a sweet toast instead. Then, we saw people eating beautiful pancakes near us.. which turned out to be an “off menu” item that no one cared to mention to us when ordering. The ingredients tasted fresh, but I did not get to eat any of the food that I wanted and the service was very cold and minimal.
I’m rarely the type of person that writes reviews, good or bad, but my friends and I had a disappointing experience here the other day. We came in for brunch on Sunday to celebrate a birthday, and we were given a wait time of three hours, which wasn’t ideal but fair enough as they were pretty slammed. When we ended up getting in, it was clear from the very start that our servers were trying to rush us. We were done with everything in 45 minutes. The food was good, but nothing too special. My real problem, though, was when we finished our meal and paid the bill. While we were paying, it started pouring rain outside and we wanted to make a plan for where we would go before we left the restaurant so we wouldn’t be stuck in the downpour. We sat for about five minutes after paying our bill when a server came to tell us she needed us to get up so she can seat the next table, to which we complied. I honestly don’t know why restaurants feel it’s okay to kick paying customers out of the table they’re sitting at (and waited a long time for!!!). Like I said, we were celebrating a friend’s birthday at this brunch and wanted to enjoy each other’s company at the table, so it felt even more disrespectful to tell us we needed to leave so they could seat other people. We weren’t even there for a full hour!! In the chance that the restaurant actually reads these reviews, please treat your customers with more respect. I’ve never in my life been told to leave a table after a meal, and I think that’s a very rude policy to hold at a restaurant, even when it’s busy.
was really thrilled to check out this joint and my target was cashew ricotta toast. Well honestly the pic doesn't do the justice, it was not looking delicious, at all, props here goes to Samsung camera, back to the incredibly dry toast with no fruits, until I asked for it.. Tasted like mix of brown sugar with cinnamon (not exaggerating) on thinnest slice of some bread. Think of sorta melted chunks of brown sugar mixed with cinnamon and they put baklava toppings, to really kill the jam and honey instead of date syrup that they were out of. Not worth 15 buck. Coffe just $3, tho my deli got better coffee ..and boy ya need to work that vegan ricotta recipe.
One star would be too generous after what I experienced. I arrived on Sunday before noon at 11:15am and asked is there anyway I can put my name on the wait list, I’m told by the rude hostess there’s no wait list until 12:30pm and you’ll have to wait over an hour just to put your name down - she then proceeds to seat other people around me. Had a much better delicious rice ball next door at Brooklyn Rice Factory.
came bright and early for breakfast and was highly disappointed with the coffee we were given. out of our entire table, we all disliked the coffee. it tasted watered down and ruined the entire experience. the service provided to us was also disappointing, no smiles or a welcoming environment given… the food was overpriced, $22 for plato’s plate with 2 pieces of bacon, a quarter of an avocado, 3 scrambled eggs and a piece of bread. (very bland). PS! the hostess rolled her eyes at us! the tip was meant for the cooks, not for the staff.
After reservations, we waited for 2 hours for a party of two at 1 pm on a weekday. The waitress kept giving us wrong waiting times every time we asked. Terrible service. Once you walk in it’s packed and very uncomfortable, you’re practically breathing into someone else’s food. Food wasn’t that special, can be found elsewhere. Overall, never again.
