Opinions de Baby Bo's Cantina Brooklyn
This is a cozy and charming luncheonette, with a menu full of classic diner food with a Greek-inspired twist. It's a great spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The setting is retro and vintage in a way that's endearing and comfortable; the vibes are nostalgic, and the baby blue interior and quaint tchotchkes add to that. Something to know is that only walk-ins are allowed. If you get to the restaurant and there is no seating available, your phone number will be taken down to contact you soon when seating becomes available for you. Reservations are not taken beforehand. While some may complain about this, this choice actually further adds to the old-timey charm of this place. The HLT and Zorba plate are my two favorites. But no food choice here is a bad one. The staff and service are great. The food is great. The vibes are great. Highly recommend.
Great vibe, great food, great service. What more could you ask for? Off the bat, the decor is fun and has a lot of character, from random Greek references to pop culture, there is a lot to see. The seating area is limited so be aware that there may be a wait during peak times. The service is attentive and friendly but what really shines is the food. We ordered the blueberry pancakes, the grilled cheese w/ tomato soup, Plato's plate and zorba's plate and they did not disappoint. Typically, our menu options may seem heavy, but the kitchen has mastered ways to make these dishes flavorful and light. I don't know if it's the added microgreens or something else, but we left happy, full and not feeling like we ate grease and butter. Family outing, breakfast meet-up or date, this isba great option!
I thought the best diner is Sunday in Brooklyn. But this…. This is REALLY FREAKING GOOD! Is the line worth it? Maybe if you really crave a solid bfast/brunch food. If you time it right you might not have to wait that long since they only allow customer to sit up to 1hr on the weekends. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Very retro and clean. Although I have the service 4 stars, I wish I could be given 4,5. I’m sorry it’s not 5 bc our food came very long.. totally understand that they’re very busy. But when the person next to you that ordered the same time got their food 15min sooner.. and the 4 new customers that ordered 6 different things next to you got their food within 5min … I just felt some type of way. Maybe a hiccup, but at least come to us and tell us that the food is coming or we can order an appetizer. But this won’t deter me from coming back. It’s def a hidden gem and highly recommended!
Baby Blues has the best restaurant vibes I've ever experienced. The decor is perfectly curated, creating an incredible, unique atmosphere. The food was also a huge hit. Everything was delicious, and I especially appreciated the healthy options. Plus, the portions are big, so it's a great place to order a few things for the table to share.
I LOVE THIS PLACE !! Hands down the best brunch spot in all of NYC. The Plato’s plate and Blueberry pancakes were very satisfying (quality & portions were perfect). Service was great and staff was very kind. The space is beautifully decorated and I love the baby blue theme. There wasn’t a wait when I went last time but it’s definitely worth waiting if there is a queue. I’ve been here a few times now and it’s consistently a 10 / 10. Must order when you go: Frappe Plato / Zorba plate Baklava banana bread
Good food, casual but cute atmosphere - Zorba plate was delicious, but honestly the sandwich (I think goat finger?) stole the show it was so so good. It was goat cheese, some kind of sweet jam and it was perfect. Very very long lines so would recommend going during off peak times (aka not saturday and sunday morning) otherwise you may be waiting for over an hour - they do not take resos - worth waiting but one time I went the hospitality was not great because the staff were likely overwhelmed and since they’re busy they don’t “need” your business so that sucked a bit, but all in all yummy spot, nice staff in a general sense, and good spot to have in the neighborhood!
thoroughly enjoyed everything about this diner. from the space to the service everything was flawless and as an aficionado of diners i love how they’re doing some traditional style greek food without frills or breaking the bank. everything was perfect literally. frothy coffee i asked not too sweet was dope, the breakfast plates filled me up, and the baklava flared pancakes just topped it off. can’t wait to come back
Fantastic breakfast, lunch, brunch, food, and a unique and quite camp restaurant. Definitely recommend this place and we will be back. The food was fantastic and you could tell they used good quality ingredients. The Zorba platter was filling, fresh, and hit the spot. The blueberry baby cakes were amazing. There was a funny picture frame in the bathroom titled Baby of the year with a Google review of someone who said the food was great, but the service was bad. Just found that funny; nothing else to say.
Stopped by on a random weekday and waited for about 15 minutes. The restaurant has cute retro diner vibes, it's a small space, and our server was friendly. There are a lot of healthy options to choose from. We ordered the Zorba Plate, Like a Greek Bagel, Lamb Burger, Blueberry Baby Cakes, and a frappe. Zorba Plate - Loved the variety, but the potatoes took up the majority of the plate. Still, everything was really good and well-seasoned. I just wish it came with more pieces of halloumi. Like a Greek Bagel - Came with a long piece of crispy sourdough instead of an actual bagel. It was creamy and zesty, served with a side of smoked salmon. Blueberry Baby Cakes - Fluffy and amazing; no syrup needed. So good! Will be back if I venture out to Williamsburg again.
Cute spot with comforting food. This restaurant is styled as a traditional luncheonette with a counter and table seating. The atmosphere is definitely a highlight but the space is small and I can imagine it fills up VERY quickly on weekends. On this visit we enjoyed the banana date shake, an iced coffee, the Sparta plate, the Zorba plate, the blueberry and cream pancakes and the baklava banana waffles. The banana date shake is rich and creamy with a perfect, deep sweetness from the dates and a comforting scent from the banana. The shake should be served with a larger/boba straw as it is impossible to drink through the one provided. There were some larger date chunks at the bottom that should have been blended a bit more. The iced coffee was notable as it was nicely sweet even without sugar. I really enjoyed my coffee. The Sparta plate is served with savory eggplant patties that provide a texture reminiscent of sausage patties. The eggs served at this restaurant are visible good quality with golden orange yolks and rich velvety textures. There is also a red pepper sauce which works well with everything on the plate. The plate is flavorful but I would probably choose a different option next time. The serving is too light and I am not vegetarian so there isn’t a reason for me to get it again. The zorba plate is much heavier and just as delicious. A plate with halloumi is always appreciated and this dish delivers on all fronts of flavor. The baklava banana waffle is great but the description is a bit off. I wouldn’t say it’s heavily baklava, more candied pecans/walnuts. Delicious but it would be complete with a honey forward butter syrup. The flavor profile just needed some completion. The blueberry and cream pancakes are fluffy and tender. The blueberries are excellent quality and the cream cuts through the heavy textures to balance the dish. Really delicious and classic. The price point here is JUST a little bit high. I had two full plates of food and had room to spare when I left. For two people it was over $100 which is just a lot for breakfast food and nothing here is hefty.
Baby Blues Luncheonette definitely lives up to the hype. When we arrived, it was already pretty crowded, and for good reason. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait especially on a Sunday around 11:30 a.m. like we did. We ended up waiting about two hours, but they do send you a notification when your table’s ready, and they also show you how many parties are ahead of you, which makes the wait feel a bit more manageable. The place itself is small, and tables are pretty close together, but it wasn’t an issue for us. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, and the prices are very reasonable. My partner got the “Plato’s Plate,” and I went for the “Chicken Club.” Both were fantastic. My partner gave her dish a 9/10, and I’d give mine the same rating. The price-to-quality ratio was excellent, and we had no complaints. The only small note from my partner was that the bacon on her plate was a bit greasy, but it wasn’t a big deal. We also shared a side of “Greek Potatoes and Tzatziki.” That dish was another 9/10. The only downside was that there wasn’t quite enough tzatziki for all the potatoes, so I’d recommend asking for extra on the side if you order it. No real issue though, just a small suggestion. We had an “Iced Coffee” and a “Regular Coffee” with our meal, and both were spot on. One more thing: we were treated to a complimentary dish of fresh strawberries and blueberries with whipped cream (as you can see in the photo I included). We’re not sure what it was called, but it was light, refreshing, and delicious. Easily a 10/10, and I’d highly recommend it if you get the chance. The service was also excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and even the hostess deserves a shoutout. We arrived a bit late for our seating time, but she was understanding and still got us a table despite it being so busy. Really appreciated that. The bill was pretty reasonable for everything we got, and I left a $15 tip because of the great service and the complimentary fruit bowl. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. The wait time can be long (ours was 2 hours), but it’s totally worth it when you consider the quality of the food and the prices. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend you give it a try too! Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Baby Blues Luncheonette – A True Williamsburg Gem One of the best brunch experiences we’ve had in NYC. Baby Blues Luncheonette has that rare mix of charm, flavor, and personality that makes it feel like an instant classic. The atmosphere is vintage, cozy, and full of character—think hanging plants, old-school decor, and art that brings the space to life. It’s casual but cool, and the vibe is welcoming from the second you walk in. We ordered: • Baklava Banana Pancakes – unbelievably good, warm and gooey with just the right balance of flavors • Halloumi Platter – fresh, light, and perfectly Mediterranean • Goat + Fig Sandwich – sweet and savory in the best way • Scrambled Eggs & Sides – simple dishes done really well Every bite was packed with flavor. We didn’t even stop to take photos—just ate everything immediately, which says it all. Service was also fantastic. Lily took care of us and made the whole experience even better with her warmth and attentiveness. Fast service, amazing food, and a vibe that makes you want to hang out all day. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Williamsburg, this spot is a must. We’ll definitely be back.
Retro diner with decent food. The blueberry baby cakes were a standout -- so perfectly fluffy that I didn't even realize I forgot the maple syrup halfway through! The lamb smash burger was stellar. It came with a side of potatoes that were a tad on the greasy side. If you got the 1 in 5 chance of getting the crispy ones, they were amazing, but the 4 in 5 chance of getting an oil soaked potato was not worth it -- I would sub for a salad instead. The eggplant fritters were ... edible? Zero crisp, zero flavor. If something is on the menu and I'm waiting an hour for it, I think it should at least taste like something. I would come here again if I was in the neighborhood and there was no wait. But definitely not worth the wait.
I adore this cute Mediterranean brunch spot in Williamsburg! I’m honestly not normally a brunch person, but this place serves fresh and healthy Mediterranean style brunch food. I got the Zorba plate and the banana bread and both were so delicious! The one downside is that they don’t take reservations, so I recommend coming early to ensure you’re not waiting for too long. It was a small space and a little cramped, but overall I’d come back again.
was really thrilled to check out this joint and my target was cashew ricotta toast. Well honestly the pic doesn't do the justice, it was not looking delicious, at all, props here goes to Samsung camera, back to the incredibly dry toast with no fruits, until I asked for it.. Tasted like mix of brown sugar with cinnamon (not exaggerating) on thinnest slice of some bread. Think of sorta melted chunks of brown sugar mixed with cinnamon and they put baklava toppings, to really kill the jam and honey instead of date syrup that they were out of. Not worth 15 buck. Coffe just $3, tho my deli got better coffee ..and boy ya need to work that vegan ricotta recipe.
