Kiddo suggested we go to this coffee house. So glad we did. Very cool vibe. Very open and accepting of all people. I got one of the best Chai lattes I have had in a long time (made from actual chai. Not the canned powder or bottled concentrate). We each got a sammie. The owner (I didn't get his name) was super cool and made suggestions for our food. We got a turkey, Swiss, And deliciousness on a bagel. Kid had an impossible burger with a hot sauce vegan? cheesey schmeer. Tomatoes were great for being winter tomatoes. Everything was so good. He brought it to over to where we were sitting on some couches. We chatted with some other visitors. Nice sort of punky rock vibe. Open late at night. DJ parties. Would love to come back for one is those. Nice neighborhood place.
I love their Nutella Smoothie and Sorrel. The Vegan Empanadas, Black Bean Brownies and Banana Bread are delicious! There’s a great tarot reader there too. The Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate muffins and BLT sandwiches are Jammin’. This place is a lot of fun! Love it!
Fantastic coffee shop with amazing coffee and even better vibes. The owner is a genuinely great guy who makes everyone feel welcome. You can tell he truly cares about quality and community. Always a great experience coming here.
love this place, live right next door & owner and workers are so nice however the barista with red beard & red pony tail truly is so rude & has no manners. Messed my order up and did not apologize. I can read his body language and from when i walked in he had an attitude. Everyone else is always so nice
❤️ The charmed type of place I want to see do well. Local art, microphone, no alcohol and nothing corporate. Hope to see some performers here when back in area. ❤️
Love this place. Especially Ian. He is a stalwart in the community and is always looking out for the people. Impeccably plated food and even better character. I really love this spot! And also it’s home of the writing circle. We meet every Tuesday 8:30-10:30pm :) come through!!
I love this place I take a train 40 minutes just to come here. The service is amazing. The staff is really friendly and kind. The food is fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is peaceful. My go to work spot
One of the best bacon egg and cheese in town!! Also phenomenal staff. Great entertainment. I’ve gotten so much work done here. Wonderful vibe.
I was there for a performance. This is a great stop on anyone's tour. The owner was very accommodating and inviting. I appreciated the space and we had a great show. This place is definitely on my list of do overs, run it back.
This is my favorite spot to work. The whole place has the vibe of a hangout in a good friend's living room. I love their coffee and tea, and the general creative community energy
Ian was awesome, pushing out orders like no tomorrow! Espresso, lattes, sandwiches, and muffins were so good. Polite, quick, and yummy is all you need on Saturday morning and it was exactly that. Thank you!
Coffee on the beach + Chipotle chicken salad sandwich rocks! Highly suggest if you want to layback and relax. The sandwich takes a bit to come out but is so worth it!! People here are super nice. So sad because I won't be working in the area anymore :^(
It doesn't look like much from the outside but if you want a strong and quick espresso drink, this place is legit. Give any of their espresso drinks a try. Cappuccino is the easiest and you don't need a big size unless you want a lot more caffeine.
So this was exactly what my partner and I were looking for to do work late night. We’ve been looking for a cafe that’s open late so we can work on business after work. The barista and owner were super friendly and had great vibes. It was giving struggling community gentrification artist cafe vibes (in a good way), and welcoming! With art all over the walls, plants for sale, a quick bite to eat (at an affordable price & with healthy choices)! The tables and chairs are all mismatched with a living room area, which all made the place feel comfortable. There was a band playing downstairs but you could barely hear it. We got there an hour before closing so it sucked being able to accomplish all of our tasks but we are glad we found it and we for sure will be back.
This place is a hidden gem! Went for coffee with a classmate here and was instantly charmed. The host is so affable and warm and welcoming. He even taught me about the difference between paypal and squarecash when it comes to point of service business transactions. I feel like this is a spot I'll be frequenting for takeout coffee since it is a fairly reasonable walking distance (and short biking distance) from my place. There are all sorts of little arty ads around are there is even an ad for tarot readings! The host himself does Reiki and is very spiritual. Such a sweet space.
Great coffee and non-coffee drinks! Sweet & tasty pastries. The staff are so welcoming and kind!! The space itself is beautifully decorated in a chilled-out “modern art” style. This place is an AMAZING to relax with your friends, come to relax and de-stress by yourself, or bring your laptop to work or study. There are couches and lounge chairs, but also tables with chairs that you can work at. The energy of this coffee shop is very calm and soft.
Great food and drink - highly recommend the coffee on the beach. The impossible burger with vegan cream cheese on it was 10/10. But the place could use a bit of cleaning up. The bathroom had no TP or PT and smelled like straight up piss at 11am. The whole vibe of the staff, wall art, and the random junk stored around the cafe felt very disorganized. It could be such a cute spot if they could just give a little attention to the ambience.
I came here on a whim to work one day! The latte was phenomenal and grilled cheese was great. Some of the best food prices in the area, too! The guy who owns it seems super chill, and through eavesdropping it's clear they have so many things they host and do for the community! I only gave it a 4 because I when I came in (and when a few other guests came in) it took a minute or two to get a hello. But i think that's just because it's a laid back enviornment,I'd imagine if I was a regular it wouldn't feel that way! And I definitely plan on coming back :)
Great coffee. Bagel was good, sandwich was fine, barista was in a bad mood and was clearly annoyed, even laughing mockingly when I ordered more food which was super offputting. Made it obvious to me he didn’t want to be there. Shop was quite grimy/dirty as many other reviews point out.
Was disappointed and underwhelmed by this place. Gave this place a try because of the good reviews, but was disappointed! I got the Yerba mate and grilled cheese sandwich with three cheeses. The Yerba mate didn’t have much of a taste. The Yerba mate you get from the super markets, actually tastes way better. The grilled cheese sandwich was ok, nothing special. It was $7, and you can make the same grilled cheese at home that costs $3-$4 to make. The decor/ambience of the store felt like a flea market, with a bunch of random and eclectic furniture thrown in together. The art was funky, with a lot of color and animals on it. The place had a bunch of punk rocker type customers in it. This place didn’t really give me the “community feel” that it was going for. The customer service was ok, the guy who served me was mediocre. It wasn’t the best or the worst. It’s located in a quiet residential area, about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Price: $11💸 Rating: 5.5-6📝
