The mint matcha latte was the best drink I've ever had!! I hope it's a seasonal special forever 😍😍😍
I basically grew up eating French croissants every day so I’d like to think I’m a bit of an expert, and Colson has the best croissants (+ pain au raisin and pain au chocolat) in Brooklyn. 10/10
always fresh pastry, good coffee, sandwiches, and cheery staff. love coming here after the y to grab breakfast. thanks colson! brioche suisse is so rich and a bit decadent but soooo delicious
I live right across the street from The Patisserie. There are mornings I intentionally don't put up coffee so I can go across the street and get coffee and something to go with it. Everything is fantastic and the staff is really really nice.
best bakery in park slope! the croissants.and pastries are A+++. its always packed but the staff does a great job of getting orders out fast.
Awesome bakery, I think they have the best plane/butter croissants in NYC, they also have very tasty sandwiches and quiches. Definitely will come there again
Great staff, great coffee, amazing pastries (although I think they overloaded the raspberry jam donut), clean and well designed! Love it!
Great bakery. Accessibility: there is one small step up to the entrance, and the bathroom is small. Fantastic pastries and cakes, great coffee and croissants. Neighborhood gem.
Delicious pastries (almond croissant is my fave) and great supporters of our neighborhood. Thank you for your donation to PS107!
I always get very friendly service here. The pastries are always fresh and they make my chai lattes just the way I like them!
Excellent coffee and pastries. The employees in this store care about their craft shows in the quality of the product that they deliver.
Cute coffee shop. The staff is friendly, coffee is very good and so is the Hu bear! Highly recommended!
This is the most delicious patisserie in the Park Slope. Delicious croissant and excellent coffee. It's perfect place for breakfast!
I visited them a lot before the pandemic and went back a month ago for a couple of times, I don't know if I have just gone late but they had pretty much nothing left by 1-2 pm!
Great coffee, amazing pastries, best macarons and the counter staff today was very nice and friendly.
This is the absolute best place to stop for an espresso en route to Prospect Park. The pastries are perfectly sinful, one can always gaze at local art on the exposed brick walls and the staff is nothing short of delightful. I don't care if a massive stroller is blocking the entrance at all times. It's worth the scuffle. Miss you, Colson!
while i’ve only been here once, everything I got was so good that i trust the next time i go back, it will blow my mind again. I had the chocolate croissant, swiss brioche and baguette, in addition to the latte. sometimes bakeries can really miss the mark wih espresso drinks, but i thought their lattes were really great! it isnt somewhere i would want to hang out though, because it gets really busy and is a pretty cramped space. although, this might just be the time of day i went and it might be quieter off if rush hours
This is the go-to weekend AM stroller/dog park crowd stop. Opens 7:30, grab a cold brew and some pastries, and enjoy your morning in the park with your baby (fur or otherwise). I am very partial to the cold brew here paired with an almond croissant (if they are looking right) and/or a cheddar chive biscuit.
Perfect place for breakfast! Their coffee is great, huge choice of delicious pastries. Right after we came, there was a big line ending outside. Definitely recommend this place!
Pulled out of the cold wind for a latte and a bite to eat.The latte was good and the tuna salad nicoise was surprisingly tasty and very fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. Ambiance was mellow and familiar. Through the course of my salad - and those irritating business texts that require an immediate response - I was joined by a number of others taking respite from the cold wind. A gay couple, a young mother with two young kids off to a doctor's appointment, a grandfather bringing his grandson in for a tantalising pastry, and a dad coming in with his daughter that he had just picked up at school and was treating to a sticky waffle. An interesting and eclectic cross section of Park Slope in Brooklyn. Highly recommend this stopover on 9th street for a coffee & pastry or something more substantial - I noticed that there is a breakfast menu, but that it is only served until 1:00pm.
Outstanding coffee, and delicious (if slightly pricey) breakfast sandwiches. Can't tell if the manager is genuinely a toxic narcissist or just bad at kidding around, but I was feeling a bit sorry for her staff the other morning.
A great local bakery and coffee house that serves fresh pastries, cakes, egg sandwiches and superior espresso. This staple of the neighborhood is one of the reasons Park Slope is a great place to live.
my favorites are always the cheddar chive biscuit, apple turnover/galette, croissant, and now a new one: black pepper parmesan twist.
Super delicious pastries and warm beverages. It is a crime to not get the hazelnut tart. So very buttery with a crisp crust and cool, chilled hazelnut that hits the spot. Anytime.
Great pastries, coffee is good too. Little crowded early in the mornings, but they keep up good customer service end speed even when it’s busy.
What a lovely neighborhood patisserie in the heart of Park Slope at the corner of 9th Street and 6th Avenue. Always nice to stop there for one of their delicious coffees and pastries. Ask for the daily specials!
We ogled as we walked past their Industry City located. Their pastries made the most incredible aroma. Their muffins were top notch, definitely make a stop here on your Brooklyn tour
Great coffee, yummy pastries, welcoming staff. I love Colson's! I do wish they had more savory pastries but the pastries they do have are excellent. And I do really miss the sandwiches they used to have; the cauliflower romesco one was on point.
I have never been, but my name is also Colson!!
My go-to order is an Iced Oat Milk Maple Latte &&&& if they have it get the chai danish it is unbelievably delicious
Love, love, LOVE the cappuccino! Especially since they always add a little design that stays until your last sip! The staff is very friendly and inviting. The teddy bear cookies and the almond croissants are to die for! Please don't get me started on the baked oatmeal! ! ! Love this place on an early Saturday morning! Yum!
This is a super cool cafe a little off the path in Park Slope. The staff is super nice and has a range of tasty food to offer. Their coffee is great but the real start is the Teddy Bear shaped financiers. Not only are they adorable they are delicious - made with almond flour they have a rich consistency and a great nutty taste. I love stopping by here whenever I'm in the neighborhood. The cafe itself is a little small so don't always bank on getting a seat.
Cute coffee shop in park slope! Staff was super friendly, service was quick and the raspberry donut was 💯💯. They also have community events after hours, vibe is definitely worth checking out
Can't even fully describe my love for this place. The croissants are amazing! I've only branched out and tried something different on a few occasions. Very friendly and helpful staff. It can be hard to get a table at times but worth waiting around for a bit! Chai lattes are a great alternative to coffee there.
Best quiche ever. I am not a fan of quiches. But this patisserie makes it taste like a really, really good omelette or pot pie. Both fluffy and filling. Thank you for making me know what a quiche was meant to be like. The service is laid back in a great way and the salad that came with the quiche was wonderful...made you feel okay about eating the entire decadent quiche.
Fantastic coffee and pastries. I will say watching them be berated by rude and dare I say it- down right entitled park slopers is not great. Ex: Being rude at the employees when they are late, but can't seem to manage their own time well enough to arrive early. They are still working through a pandemic, treat them like humans and tip well.
Friendly staff that make you feel welcome, and delicious baked goods+teas/coffees! I'm definitely planning on coming back here again for the chocolate cherry danish alone!
Excellent pastry shop with seasonal European traditions as well. I've been a regular for more than a decade and never been disappointed. It's always pleasant visiting the very professional staff, lots of character there.
So delicious omg, my bestfriend for months told me how crazy she was about their coffee. I finally went and ooooh my! the coffee is yummy but the pastries!! Unbelievable! I had the most delicious apricot danish, please go, highly recommend!
Always solid. What else do you need to know? If you like financier or even thought about trying/liking them then you have to get the teddy bear financiers here. They’re sooooo good! I have to fight off the urge of buying Colson every time I go to Industry City these days. The smell from their kitchen is like a siren’s song
They have very high standards for their baking, along with a very tolerant position regarding the varied customers. How so? Last winter they advertised a specialty French Christmas cake, and a Sephardic Jewish Hanukkah specialty (don't call sufganayot a Jelly Doughnut!) ON THE SAME SIGN.
This is an excellent pastry shop in Park Slope. I love the assorted minis and they are perfect for parties, events, or if you don't want an entire pastry to feel good about yourself for exhibiting self control. Another big reason to rave about this place is the customer service. I placed an order and paid for it but had a cancellation on a private airplane leaving the following day. Tristan, the manager could not have been kinder, and treated me like a human and appreciated customer. He allowed me to cancel the order with his support (although I had the decline the charge with my credit card and he said he would support it if it were being disputed. He offered several options to help as well. I sincerely appreciate this high level of customer support and I will hell or high water make sure I am as loyal to this shop! Well done, Tristan at 9th Street location! You have 1 loyal customer here!
I recently ordered catering from this place -- enough boxed hot coffee and mini-pastry platters for about 70 people. The pastries were delicious and the coffee was pretty good too! Their staff was responsive by email and answered all my questions, e.g. helping us figure out the right quantity for the order. They also hooked us up with napkins, sugar packets, etc. so that we had everything we needed for our party. I absolutely recommend their catering service!
The best coffee store in town. I don't drink coffee, but the tea there is amazing. I received a standard medium black tea for $4. In addition, they exclude any sweetener, so make sure to add your own sugar (I learnt the hard way). As I was buying my lunch, Jeff Buckley's "Lover, you should've come over" came on, and I nearly collapsed in heartbreak. The vibes are calm and composed. The music is neither excessively loud nor inaudibly quiet. Indoor seating is also convenient, with a limited number of tables but enough of space to do assignments.
I went in knowing I can’t drink cold coffee so I really tried to stop myself from getting an iced coffee so I went with a waffle and a hot chocolate and I’m so glad I did ❣️ the barista was so sweet and kind she said to me she made my chocolate interesting I believe, sorry I was in my thoughts, and I look and “Awww 🥹” and thanked her. It was so cute and it made my day! The little things 💗 I liked her cute pink bandana and sweatershirt! If you read this thank you 💖
Nestled amidst the vibrant and trendy Brooklyn enclave of Park Slope, with its chic boutiques and eclectic eateries, "Colson Patisserie" stands out as a beacon of authentic French-Belgian charm. As the leaves take on a golden hue in the fall, families and aficionados alike are drawn to this quaint bakery, reminiscent of the enchanting Parisian patisseries of yesteryears. The neighborhood itself is a delightful blend of contemporary flair and timeless elegance, making it a perfect backdrop amoungs the brownstone homes for this gem of a bakery. As you stroll down the avenue, the allure of "Colson Patisserie" is undeniable. The thought and passion poured into this establishment are evident in every detail, from its inviting ambiance to the meticulously crafted pastries. During my recent visit, I was transported to the romantic boulevards of 1980s Paris. The pastries, a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, were the perfect addition to our cherished Saturday brunch ritual. The service was impeccable, making the experience all the more memorable. In conclusion, if you're in Park Slope and yearn for a slice of authentic French-Belgian delight, "Colson Patisserie" is a must-visit. Whether you're indulging in a leisurely tea-time or grabbing a quick coffee, this bakery promises a touch of Paris in the heart of Brooklyn. Bon appétit! 🥐🍂🗼
🎵 I drove all night 🎵 ( thank you, Celine Dion) from Iowa to visit my kiddo in the hospital. Their only request was an iced coffee, so I chose this place after searching for savory pastries (for myself 😉). Two kind humans were working. Their selection was beautiful. I bought an assortment, and they made my kiddos coffee without ice, so I could add some later ( I chugged my delicious iced coffee stat #neededit). They directed me to where I could find better toothpaste for them (hospital toothpaste out the window). They even gave me a token for a free drink for my kiddo when they got out of the hospital, as they live in the area. Big big props from this Midwestern girl! Thank you.
Such a wide selection of pastries! The cream filled pastry, no idea what it’s called (oops!) was great. The croissants and other treats all tasted fresh and there was no end to options. Coffee was good and they were pretty quick. Still observing proper COVID guidelines and most of the patrons mask up as well from what I saw.
Sweet tooth heaven right over here... I’m still reminiscing about the lemon tart 🍋 deliciousness. Golden Turmeric Latte is a must! Industry City’s Food Hall is a delicious culinary gathering. Colson’s ads that cherry on the Sunday! MON - FRI: 7:30AM - 6PM SAT - SUN: 10:30AM - 6PM BUILDING 3
Love the food and service here. Macarons are pretty good, maybe one of the best in Brooklyn. Quality, taste, etc. is always consistent and the service is always friendly. I have never had to wait long even if it is packed. Must try here: financiers, macarons, tarts, ispahans, eclairs. I would say the only thing I don't like are waffles, but I prefer waffles to be eaten as soon as they are made imo. Coffee is good here as well (have onky had lattes, chai, espresso).
Seeded Multigrain Pullman - excellent, very dense and rich in seeds Baguette - promising texture but was burned Morning bun- fine, but not as rich as I’ve had a other bakeries Vegan muffin - texture was strange, taste was off, will avoid in future Chive cheddar scone - terrific Donut - good, but not memorable Almond croissant - tastes like they put too much almond oil in it, will not have again
I visit often. I buy myself a delicious coffee buzz and once in a while a scrumptious morning muffiin or scone. A cozy cafe on a busy corner, they play good music, the staff is friendly and they work hard behind that counter.
One of my favorite coffee / tea shops that has excellent small plates and phenomenal baked goods - including some gluten-free goodies. Limited seating (about 10 people), but an excellent spot for a mid-afternoon coffee.
This French bakery makes a surprisingly good iced matcha and matcha latte. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker, but I like pairing something sweet with a drink that's bitter and ideally caffeinated, so the matcha is usually my go-to here. The pastry display case can give you a case of Indecision. You go in thinking you'll get a croissant, then see five other flaky things that look just as good if not better. As a result of my constant waffling when I'm in here, I've gotten the Belgian waffle twice, forgetting that it was just OK. The vanilla donut is pretty good too. Haven't found that one pastry to write home about, but I'll keep coming back.
So friendly and great coffee. Impressive selection of baked goods but just not the flakiest or best tasting I’ve had here. Still highly recommend and I’ll try the others!
Everything is fine, but be aware - there are no sandwiches and salads. Only baking and coffee
The four stars are for the croissants: we sampled a chocolate almond and a plain. The croissants are buttery and flaky; there's a very slight rubberiness otherwise it would be a 5-star rating without question. The coffee is from Brooklyn Roasting Company.
The little Frangipane cakes with chocolate on the bottom are delicious! I like that their pastries are not too sweet. We went for the jelly donuts and ask for one jelly and one custard donut and wound up wit two custard donuts. This is not the worst thing in the world. I do really love their jelly donuts so I'll make extra sure next time we go there. Also got a pastry called a gosette filled with sour cherries. It was nice but not as good as jelly donuts or the chocolate Frangipane. We were happy that we got out of there without buying any eclairs. It took all our strength!
Apple Turnover and Donut Berry are amazing. They are not sweet at all, but they are really yummy. It is the best Bakery in Brooklyn, but they have no toilet, which is not convenient to eat and enjoy there
Perfect neighborhood patisserie - with the pandemic one can no longer linger inside with a coffee and croissant, but there’s always the bench outside. Or take it to the park. The teddy bear financiers are lovely and moist. Love bringing them to family with kids. The savory tarts and waffles are also tasty. Not widely advertised, but nearly all their yummy muffins are vegan and wheat-free. They are so well done, that I didn’t know until after I tried them.
I tried a sour cherry🍒 hand pie and an almond croissant. Both were delicious. They had all the usual coffee/barista type offerings. It was quiet with a few tables available. Quite a few neighborhood moms wandering in with their child to get them a treat. I’d definitely stop in again.
What happened to the tables and chairs? It's cold and winter and Colsons used to be a cozy place to stop.
Rich and sweet French pastries, great coffee and bakery goods. Also gluten free options but this all comes at a cost cause it's not cheap.
Decent sweets but no longer serve sandwiches or salads which was why this place was worth going. Please update your menu on your maps listing.
It's 4:50pm on a Monday and my first time here and there is no cook which means no sandwiches and OJ. It looks like it might be a nice place to eat as selection looks ok though prices seem a little higher than most. Has outdoor seating and a grade A rating.
Everything is so dry!! We bought 4 pastries (sweet and savory) and they were all dry, flakes falling down, lacked butter and filling. As a Frenchman, that “patisserie” didn’t lived up to its name…
The food here is fine. The counter layout is really bad, and leads to really poor wait times and bad customer experience, often waiting pressed up to sitting customers. The staff have to endure poor treatment by grumpy customers who just endured the poor line system.
My wife and I go there quite often as we are French and normally love their Patisseries. This is why I was surprised yesterday when returning to the counter an almost untouched very dry flan (it's ok we all make mistake) the only thing they proposed me was to buy something else.
Maybe popular because it used to be so good and DiBlasio goes in there sometimes- I find that the quality of the pastries has really declined. There is nothing more disappointing than a stale, overpriced croissant. Step it back up Colson.
Ordered a few pastries and was disappointed with the quality we received. The almond croissant tasted stale, and wasn't particularly flaky. Only the filling was buttery, not every layer. The chocolate croissant had a meager amount of chocolate inside. The cherry scone was dry , tough, and lacked sweetness. The raspberry donut was quite good though! Would recommend a few other bakeries a few blocks north of here instead.
I don’t understand pastry shops that sell old and stale pastries. Do they think customers won’t notice? I ordered a gosette and a donut, both so stale they tasted like bread.
Been going here for a year, was still worth it even though the wait for food was always long. Today I called in an order was told it would be ready in 10 minutes and after a half hour of waiting I asked again - at that point I was told they didn't have the food I ordered and they would have to make something else. I asked for my money back at which point I was told "next time get off your ass and come in here to order". He continued to go on until another employee shoved him in the back. They don't communicate, don't know how to take phone orders in new york, and there are plenty of cafes in park slope where someone in a french accent doesn't curse you out.
I’v been going there since the first day they opened and never had a problem until a week ago. I went to buy a coffee and muffin as I do every morning. It is always 6 dollars. I had a card with a free coffee that day and they wanted to charge me 50 cents more for a muffin. I asked the cashier (GUY) why is he charging me 50 cents more. Instead of being professional he response by swearing at me using the F word and never answered my question. I asked why he was swearing at me. Again never answered my question. The next day I went to buy a coffee the manager (GIRL) came out and said I was lying about the employee swearing at me from the day before. so she told me that I better not come back there anymore. She was very rude to me. This place either needs to train their employees on how to be professional and deal with customers properly or hire new ones. Employees should never be swearing at customers and getting aggressive.
Colson use to be one of my favorite coffee shops in Park Slope but since lately that have fallen off. Let’s first start off by saying the barista in the front have no respect, and is very sarcastic. The blueberry scones are always sold out and the chocolate croissants lack butter, the chocolate inside is HARD and not really as soft as it should be. The chocolate scone is new but not worth the try.
Stopped in to purchase 3 of their large cookies. No hard copy receipt was given. It was sent to my email. Did not want to spend time reviewing the receipt on my phone in the store. I stead waited until I got home. Unfortunately, I was charged for 4 cookies instead of 3. Reached out by email for them to correct the purchase or at least provide me with the cookie that was already paid for....3 days later I have yet to hear from them. in thd store
The time just labeling French to attract clients is over. The regular croissants are okay, but they are really too salty. They taste more like frozen traditional croissants rather than fresh butter croissants. The baguettes resemble the shape of a classic baguette, but that’s about it. The flour has a taste that seems to be a mix of white and whole grain, and they are excessively salty, likely to mask a strong flavor. Additionally, they are not crispy. This experience was quite disappointing, and I cannot recommend these items.
Came here to buy some pastries and I had to make sure the items I picked out were gluten free since somebody in my party has severe celiacs disease. They ensured certain items were gluten free and after I swiped my card, I noticed the back of the packaging said "may contain wheat". I inquired what this meant since they insisted the gluten free items are truly gluten free. So now while I'm paying, the female worker stated their baked items are gluten friendly. So this means it may contain gluten? she now changed her story saying the baked items are made in the same space as gluten items. So she had to grab the manager who insists it is gluten free. I was then rushed to complete my transaction and before I could ask for my receipt texted to me, she completed it and said I was done. I didn't get a receipt so I can't even get a refund, at that point I was so done with this place and left. I don't understand why they were being so rude and rushed us towards the end. There was only one other patron in the store, nobody was starving to eat their bread. Customers are allowed to ask questions. I don't understand why you would advertise your products as such and then flip flop your story. I guess I was expecting too much for the bare minimum customer service. Will not be returning to this place. If you like attitude with your pastry, you will get it for free with your purchase. Enjoy
