Love this place. Great atmosphere. I love to sit here and have a shakerato but the sandwiches are so good I also order them for pickup when I don't have time to sit down! The owner is awesome, they once made a mistake with my pickup order and he personally came to my apartment with the item that was missing. Thank you!

Cristiano and his team are always so kind and hospitable. Outside of Italy, this is the best coffee i’ve found in Brooklyn. Cristiano understands the quality of real italian espresso and the importance of atmosphere and consistency. I always love going to Corto, and staying a while when i can!

Very nice spot for a good time chill, Italian quality coffee and resourceful breakfast/brunch. Service polite and efficient. Owner present, friendly and supportive. For the few I get to know in the area, it’s a Brooklyn’s gem! Always to come back…

Corto Brooklyn is one of my favorite coffee spots! The Severini focaccia🤤🥖🍳🍅🥑🐖 with a cappuccino (I ask for a bit of honey) is my go-to combo — so delicious. ($25 approx per person: coffee and sandwich) It does get busy, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. I especially love sitting outside on the sidewalk terrace, it makes the experience even better. A true neighborhood gem! Update: we almost go every weekend or every other weekend to Corto. This time I tried their frozen yogurt. As a frozen yogurt fanatic. We did not like it. It was kind of heavy? But watery too? Not quite a fan. Cappuccinos on the other hand 🥰🥰🥰yummmmyyyyyy!

The cashier with the blue eyes is so lovely, just the most wonderful service! The sandwiches are fantastic but meat-heavy. And specifically pork-heavy. I wish they had more veg or tuna or chicken options. The bundt cake was really good and the ambience is nice. Comfortable and not stuffy.

Among our clients on Supp, Corto is probably one of my favorites, and not just because I am Italian lol The vibes are super chill. This is an awesome spot to have a small bite, do some remote work, and, most importantly, get your mid-afternoon caffeine boost with a nice, good espresso. They also have a small garden in the back with more seating and a wine bar that I haven't had the pleasure of trying yet. I have to come back on a Friday afternoon, so I don't feel guilty about having a drink while working. Ciao a presto :)

Wonderful smaller coffee shop who sell surprisingly great Italian style sandwiches. NOW for the fun part...Its not a hot chocolate so best to say mocha style drink, out of this world truely. Never have I, ever have I, had a more out of this world chocolately- velvetity- espresso- with cream than the "Bicerin". Come from anywhere and try the bicerin, it's 100% one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had!

Corto on Halsey Street is incredible! Cristiano, the owner, genuinely cares about every guest, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The food is phenomenal, and the espresso is smooth and perfectly balanced. By night, Corto transforms into a vibrant bar with great energy and atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to—highly recommend!

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops! Not only is the coffee delicious and the cafe super cute with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, but also the food they sell is absolutely delicious! Their sandwiches are SO GOOD. Pro tip- add truffle honey to the sandwich :) very kind employees as well! Couldn’t recommend more :)

☻ just came here for the third time this Saturday morning (still here and just sat outside with a hot oat latte on this steamy day haha) and had to take a second glance at their window when stepping in because THEY RENOVATED! The new interior is better in my humble opinion because there is now so much more space for both customers and staff. Very capacious. White and pristine and a bookshelf of coffee-table books. The backyard is as remembered which is a relief ✿

Good food and a nice laid back atmosphere. We ate in the covered patio in the back, which was warm enough to be tolerable even though the weather was well below freezing. The food was on the pricier side for the amount that you get, but the ingredients seem to be high quality. The picture here is the Manzoni sandwich.

Have come here a few times because the espresso it’s top tier and fairly priced. First time ordering food, it is definitely slightly overpriced when you can get a sandwich at the deli next store. But quality of items is extremely good. I will say my focaccia breakfast sandwich was tasty, but $2 extra for like 1 piece of ham was crazy ridiculous. Also my partner was trying to ask the barista for something and the guy just ignored her and a woman came to ask what was needed. I will say whoever is making that food is a great guy and even checked up on the quality. Owner is also very friendly and i get a kick out of his responses to entitled customers! Overall a very decent coffee and lunch spot in brooklyn

Stepped in around early afternoon. Really chill spot for a light meal and coffee. Stylish and cool ppl. The only thing was that the air indoor was smelly since they make sandwiches. I recommend seats at their yard, warm and bright! 🍯🍰Honey spiced cake recommended by the staff was delightful. Moist texture but crumbly. Light flavor but rich spiced! Can’t remember the name of my coffee but was neat! Taste was great. Like an espresso shot but with some foamed milk.

Sandwiches are good albeit a bit overpriced. I’d recommend this place for the sandwiches and scenery / vibe, but not the coffee. Their coffee drinks are quite bad, actually. Either the baristas need better training or the drinks are rushed. My cappuccino is always cold and often does not contain any foam. Also, if you order a latte, you must pay for the second shot of espresso, which is odd here in the states.

Love this cafe. Asked for a coffee to stay and it was in a to-go cup with a lid on. Its not their best day.

They got the fancy Italian espresso machine but the coffee doesn't taste that good, which was kinda disappointing, especially for the price. Servers aren't the nicest also. :) But well what do you expect. However, decor-wise, it is beautiful inside and outside so that's kinda nice.. Overall not bad but there's def better coffee in the neighborhood.

I want to reiterate concerns about to-go cups. There are so many staff at this cafe and the prices are high- why isn’t there a dishwasher working full time? It’s just lazy and cultural to have these constant to-go cups. Why are we tipping? It’s not like the staff are bussing tables. Also I have asked for a ceramic cup and been ignored, at least twice. The quality of the coffee is average. A latte should not be so big, and the milk is frothed with little effort. The americanos are disgusting! I wish it was much less water, with the shot poured on after to preserve the crema. The only reason I get coffee with milk here is because the black coffee is so bad. I do love the food- the severini is the best sandwich I’ve had at a cafe in New York. And the cafe itself is beautiful. The owner is great. The staff could be a bit more assertive and friendly around the register. The main issue is the quality of the coffee and the sheer amount of waste

Panini sandwich was fine, ambience is nice but coffee was a big disappointment. Forget latte art, it was poorly frothed, luke warm average quality beens. “Barista” was making coffee one minute and cleaning tables the next. Recommended getting a dedicated trained barista who can do justice to ambiance, the good food and cost.

This review is about sustainability only! By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Over 95% of the plastic that we produce and consume does not actually get recycled, but rather ends up in landfills, incinerators, in our oceans, and in our bodies as microplastics. While I am happy to see that your shop offers for-here, reusable mugs and plate ware and cutlery to customers, it seems that no one knows to ask for them. Not one person in your coffee shop the other day was drinking out of a multi-use, real cup. Instead, those who were there to work, meet a friend, or read a book, were drinking out of cups made from fossil fuels. Even when ordering a drink in a mug for here, I still got my drink in a throwaway plastic cup. I think there would be some simple fixes like being clear with your customers to see if they are staying for their beverage. And then making sure they get the reusable. Or perhaps, at least you can promote the availability of real mugs, or incentivize people to bring their own, on your socials. Because I see that you offer real plates for people eating a snack here, I can assume that you would have the capacity to offer and clean real mugs. But we can’t continue to normalize such a rampant and reckless use of plastic every single day. Especially here in this waterfront city. Thank you for listening to my concerns, and thinking about how both the customer and the purveyor can work together toward a healthier Brooklyn. The plastic waste crisis will not solve itself, and we need businesses and customers on board to mitigate it.

I’ve probably spent over $100 at Corto over this year and I just got banned from the shop by the owner. My friend and I met to catch up and each ordered a croissant. We paid and I asked the barista for some hot water. The guy wants to charge me 1.50 for hot water. I’m a little surprised and in jest say 1.50 for water? The guy doubles down. And I explain that’s kinda an unreasonable charge and casually mention that we ordered pastries and Im a repeat customer. The guy begrudgingly gives me the water. So I sit down with my friend and the guy eventually brings out the croissant and gruffly puts it on the table. On my way out, this dude is standing outside by the door waiting for me. I’m leaving with my friend and am shocked to learn this guy is the owner. He tells me I disrespected him and his shop and bans me from ever coming back. Is that really all it takes to “disrespect” someone? I’ve never been banned from anywhere in my life lol Some truly loser machismo behavior. It must be hard to be so petty and sensitive living in Brooklyn.
