we came here unexpectedly and wow im still thinking about it, things were actually spicy the flavors were amazing as someone whos a hater of mexican food in nyc this place rocks def coming back
I was hesitant to post this because selfishly I wanted to gate keep. But the food was SO BOMB I’ve been thinking about it for weeks. Some of the best food I’ve had in NYC and I’ve lived here my entire life. I got the papadilla having no idea what it would be and it was incredibly delicious. I don’t even remember what tacos I got but they also were amazing. I have to note, as a restroom connoisseur, their bathroom was so chic, comfy and the candle in there smelled so good I’m now saving up for one. Amazing touch with the antacids as well. Major props to their chef & interior designer.
Food is amazing and Jonny the manager is the BEST goes above and beyond!!!
Awesome dinner and vibes! Love the papadilla and they have Victoria beer which is the bestttt! Our server was so nice and we had a great time, definitely recommend!
I love the atmosphere and service very good 💯😊 the food and drinks awesome... the staff is the best speaking I never Express good encounter that received from Delores restaurant and Taco Bar....
Best tacos I've had in NYC tbh
Très bon restaurant j'aime vraiment
Well…. It’s a new favorite place that’s gonna see a lot of me. The vibe is impeccable - comfortable, friendly, and welcoming, with a lively energy. Cocktail list is sharp, elevated, and has plenty of options for any spirit preference. And the food? Incredddddible.
Nicest staff, incredible food. Highly recommend!
From the cocktails to the food to the service to the space itself this place hits on all fronts. Don't skip. Chile Relleno and Lengua were my faves.
We had a great time here! The staff is lovely. Lo is a great bartender and we had fun chatting with them!
Had the frozen drink which cooled me off perfectly and the El Rey taco was the perfect cocktail snack with their amazing salsas 🔥
I literally go to bed at night so happy that this restaurant is in my neighborhood.
Great New Mexican spot, delicious food and fun vibes. So happy to see new life in this space again!
so delish! so happy to have this gem in the neighborhood!! Cocktails, food & ambience 10/10
Hands down the best Mexican I’ve ever had.
An incredible experience and service at an affordable price. One of the best Mexican places I’ve ever been to!
Best Mexican I’ve had in NYC
Buzzy neighbourhood spot with delicious food and great value.
Everything is on point. Get in early, because it's going to be hard to get a seat.
Instant classic
Top notch.
Amazing cocktails
Best service I’ve ever experienced!!!
The short rib tacos were ridiculous
So lovely! Dropped in as a solo at the bar and felt totally welcomed and cared for. Delicious, immaculate cocktails, food is inventive and homey at the same time. Definition of a neighborhood gem.
Been here twice in the last month and it is perfect. The drinks are so good and the service was quite fine. The only downside is that the fish option on the menu isn’t allergy friendly. Other than that, loved this place for friends or date. Would not recommend for a family/kids
My experience beginning to end. After 6pm there’s a wait but worth it. Grab a drink at the bar or enjoy one at one of the tables outside. The staff there are pleasant are really looking to get you seated. We loved the spicy tequila cocktail, short rib tacos, and pork tacos. The chips and guacamole were amazing. Chips came out warm and fresh.
Everything in this place is just PERFECT! From the cocktails to the food, the service, the music, the salsas, the decor, even the silverware and napkins — everything is on point. Finally, Bed-Stuy has some truly amazing Mexican food!
An absolute gem...10s all round. The interiors are tasteful, spirited, and thoughtful. I love that it doesn’t feel overly “new”. It has warmth and character. Details I really appreciated: a clock over the bar (v grounding, no need to reach for your phone), a surprisingly delicate and beautiful restroom, and the food? Incredible. Possibly my favorite flour tortilla in NYC...super moreish—and every dish I tried was packed with flavor. Cocktails hit the mark, too. Highlight: they’ve got games, but not in the lo fi dive-bar way. Custom dominoes and dice, with drink holders built into the tables so you can play w/ abandon. Service was warm, casual, and on point. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood IMO.
This place rules! The drinks are awesome, the food is delicious, the portions are generous and it's really reasonably priced. The service is friendly and and its a really fun vibe. Basically, it's got it all. Can't wait to go back!
finally managed to get in - showed up on monday at 530pm (they open at 4!). Dining room already full, only one table available (ee got lucky!). Had the espresso martini which was so memorable with the addition of mint. Tried the veg croquete, gordita and cochinita tacos. Everything was a twist on a classic and so well executed. They need to open up a bigger joint, saw soo many people get turned away!
I cried a few tears of joy - 100% authentic in flavor with fresh, quality ingredients that take you right to Mexico City. There’s a lot of love in this food. And we really appreciate that they don’t shy away from spice (la salsa si pica felizmente). The space is warm, welcoming, casual and elegant. Recommend the gordita de chicharrón, the Salida del Sol cocktail and a side of rice and beans, which are refrito style con queso and absolutely delicious.
No notes. Got almost everything on the menu and it was fantastic! Worth every minute of the wait. Great vibes, great atmosphere, great service.
Oh my! So tasty! I particularly loved the gordita - NOT a dish you see in NY that often. The chicken consome is also a perfect way to start to meal. It is pricier than an average taco joint but the portions are generous and you are paying for great service in a great space so it all makes sense! It does get very busy so go early to avoid disappointment. The decor is also sooo well done. Love the art. Just good vibes! And the drinks. Fabulous. I could go on and on. Just go.
Loooved this place. Really authentic CDMX flavors, beautiful place, kind service. Glad to have this in the neighborhood! Favs were definitely the cochinita pibil tacos and the friday fajitas were such a fun and delicious throwback. Yes they do not take reservations and yes there is sometimes a (long) wait. But I think this will calm down once they have been open a while. We just went in early, put our name down and grabbed a drink nearby - eady peasy. I also like that they are foregoing the resy nonsense - it’s refreshing!
The perfect addition to the neighborhood. They really embody the definition of hospitality with no unnecessary rules or pretension but two well-defined areas of service with the bartop and standing rail space backed up to their very comfortable dining room that lends well to small groups. Bar: comfortably spaced and intimate enough for a date but they encourage standing room you’ll always have a place to be. Service is attentive and questions are encouraged. Drinks: thoughtfully appointed list with enough unique and exotic products that you will feel transported. But most of the cocktails still taste familiar. Ask the bartenders- they know their stuff and will direct you. The michelada, jerk batanga, and arroz con leche won’t be soon forgotten. N/A: options include standards, a house made tepache, and a non-alc version of their michelada. Food: fine-dining-level preparation of authentic Mexican dishes. Lots of small/medium plates worth making a full dinner of. Service: impeccable- no notes. Bathroom: worth visiting.
DOLORES delivers on a great time, fantastic drinks and wonderful staff. The vibes are just right the Margarita is basically as perfect as one can get. Great addition to the neighborhood and worth traveling for!
So tired of being ripped off in NYC. You order some aguachile somewhere and they give you the tiniest cuts of fish and charge you a million. Here, you get a bountiful stew of seafood for a good price. I love this place. Doing it right.
The drinks are out of this world. The Arroz con Leche is a must try guava, rum Negroni. The food is spectacular. The El Rey braised short rib taco cannot be passed on. Vibes are welcoming. Cozy NYC diner vibes meets Mexico City cantina. Can’t wait to spend all my weekend nights here.
After holding a health seminar in the area my friend and I decided to grab a dinner before heading home. Dolores was a perfect find for this freezing winter evening. The cozy space was welcoming, our server Jeff was attentive and friendly ensuring we had our drinks and order taken in a timely fashion. The decor and ambiance is not only welcoming but cozy with a hint of culture that brings back a classic vibe that you know the food is coming from the heart and when you take the first bite, you truly feel like you’re at home. We had the chicken soup that is freshly made by the owner daily, the guac and chips is a true staple dish that was not only fresh but full of flavor. I strongly recommend the Tlacoyo De Haba that was full of rich flavors with the perfect amount of spice and a fresh salad of Nopales. I also ordered two tacos for the table- El Rey (Short Ribs) and Lengua “El Bosque” (Braised Beef tongue). The short ribs were full of authentic flavors and spice but the true star was the beef tongue. I could eat those tacos every day. It’s braised to perfection and almost melts in your mouth. Their guava flan was the highlight of the evening ending on a sweet note with delicious caramel flavors topped with what I believe was a crème fraîche . I highly recommend this place to enjoy an evening out for some delicious authentic Mexican food and just a chill environment for a get together.
Great place! I went for brunch and got myself some chilaquiles and a michelada, the perfect hangover combo. The chilaquiles were the real deal, like the ones I had in Mexico, perhaps a bit spicy, but that was part of the experience. Buenísimos. Shout out to Beto at the bar too. He’s such a friendly guy. Now I need go back for some mezcalitos.
An absolute gem and great addition to Tompkins ave! Despite being recently opened, it’s incredibly well managed and clearly run by pros. This is elevated Mexican fare — possibly even better than meals I’ve had in Mexico City. The food is unbelievably fresh and bursting with flavor, and the drinks are just as impressive, perfectly balanced and full of personality. Yes, there’s usually a wait, but it’s always worth it for the quality and atmosphere you get here. Highly recommend!
Cool space and vibe, food was good but nothing was superb. The el Rey tacos, aguachile, and croquettes were good. Cochinita tacos can be skipped, a bit too soggy for my liking.
Another new amazing place for the neighborhood! Dolores is a small restaurant so expect there to be a wait but it’s worth it! We waited and 1.5 hours and just went to a bar down the street. The Aguachile is a must get along with the beans.
My favorite spot in bedstuy! Everything is delicious. I mean everything. And the drinks are incredible. I’d say this place is here to stay!
fantastic addition to the neighborhood. the interior design is lovely and the space is open and inviting, the food delicious and filling. and the drinks are superb, especially the Devil at the Disco ;)
As of late, I am here maybe 2-3x per week. Busy in the good way, often. Bar staff are pros. Service is bar none.

I highly recommend checking this place out! The ambience and vibes are welcoming and cozy. The cocktails have wonderful complex flavors, and the food is really good too. I’m a sucker for good guac and chips and they were a 10 out of 10 for me. can’t wait to go back!
So glad I finally got a seat at Dolores! We showed up around 4:45pm on a Sunday and managed to grab a table and enjoy a round of cocktails before the kitchen opened at 5. The food is mostly small bites, tapas-style, so I’d recommend going with at least a group of four so you can share. The dish of the day was green enchiladas and was very delicious. The aguachiles were also poppin'. We tried (a lot) of cocktails and there were some real hits! In no particular order- the house marg with smoky salt, the strawberry michelada (!!), the tequila/aperol/passionfruit hot sauce one, and the tepache cocktail. Staff was sweet, vibes were chill - can’t wait to come back!
Dolores is such a great new addition to the neighborhood! The cocktails are amazing! Super creative, unique, and honestly some of the best I’ve had in Brooklyn. Every drink feels like something new and surprising in the best way. The vibe is cozy and intimate, perfect for a date night. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again!
Amazing food, great service! The flavor profiles were incredible. With no reservations, you can expect a wait, but you can get drinks at the bar or head to one of the great cocktail/wine bars in the neighborhood to wait. Looking forward to coming back again!
I’ve been here maybe 4 times now and every time everything has been super solid. The food is just so good. I grew up in CDMX so having somewhere so close to me where I can come and eat this food is really special.

Dolores is the perfect step above casual; dimly lit, intimate, and very “worth the wait” NYC dinner spot (and there will be a wait, so go early). We started with chips, guacamole, and cheesy refried beans, and honestly, all three set the tone. The chips were house-made and perfectly crisp, the guac was bright and lime-forward, and the beans were creamy and rich. The El Rey short rib taco was super tender and packed with flavor in a delicious house-made tortilla, and the cheese-filled croquettes were crispy, melty, and paired so well with everything. The papadilla (blue masa stuffed with potatoes) was simple but done really well. What stood out most was how well everything worked together - we said we wouldn’t come back without ordering the exact same spread. Service was excellent! Friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. The only downside was the drink menu: very tequila-heavy with limited alternatives, but that is to be expected at a Mexican restaurant I suppose lol. The spicy margarita wasn’t great, but the cucumber-forward vodka cocktail was refreshing and probably the only one I’d reorder. Also worth noting: vegetarian options are somewhat limited, but the ones we tried were all genuinely good. Overall, Dolores is definitely a spot I’d come back to (& I hope it’s soon)!
Brunch commentary from a mexican for other mexicans . I got their huevo devorciados plate for brunch. Two huevo rancheros in two different salsas. They drown each huevo in salsa, which i think ruins the plate. The best part of huevo rancheros is that crunch of the tortilla, but this decision leaves them soggy. That’s what chilaquiles are for. The salsa verde side was ok but then I’m more disappointed to realize the roja side is chipotle. I greatly encourage management to update the menu and add this description . “red salsa” is misleading and implies it’ll follow more basic/ traditional red salsas. Chipotle is way too distinctive. I know the business knows this too, as the dinner menu does make it clear that the chile relleno taco comes with “chipotle sauce”. I couldn’t stomach it especially after having a cup of coffee. I didn’t touch the roja side and I told the waiter about how I felt the plate was misadvertised. She didn’t really understand my complaint either and just compt my order but that wasn’t my goal. I had hoped that feedback would’ve been given and I could’ve gotten a refire with another choice of salsa. I also work in food so I’m surprised no chef cared. I have enjoyed my few visits so far. I think the restaurant should refrain from overthinking and overdoing things and also teach the waiters to know the menu recipes.
Finally was able to be seated. Came in around 5 and had a lovely cozy nook with a friend. The hostess, Johnny, was so welcoming and warm! Though the menu isnt extensive, the food was flavorful, loved the guacamole it was bright, perfect consistency and on point. The star was the drink, The Elote Fizz. Would come back for that only and the atmosphere was great.
We were really excited to try Dolores since there’s always a wait. Finally one day we decided to put our names down and come back when our table was ready (45 mins). Food was honestly just ok. not worth the wait or hype honestly. Enchiladas were tiny and they suggested we share it which we thought was hilarious. Servers were lovely though! I get the CDMX vibes theyre going for but the food here just isn’t very memorable. I’d definitely just go for the atmosphere
great cocktails, good food, cool vibe
Friendly staff and great food!! Just wish they’d just do the right thing and make a reservation system.
vintage, cute, cosy authentic mexicain - perfect for a first date or hang out with r friends

Delicious drinks, great atmosphere, and friendly staff! If you're Mexican like me, or grew up eating a lot of good Mexican food, the price and quality of the tacos will not be for you. But everything else was spectacular

Bro do I really really wanna love this place. The food is so good, cocktails so good. But the service is some of the clunkiest slowest service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant that has this much to offer. 7 people on the floor when it’s just me and my gf in the restaurant and somehow we get our food before we get our drinks even tho the bartender was just standing there. I assume he sent a ticket to the other bartender who was peeling oranges, why he didn’t just make our drinks I don’t know. That’s not necessarily a big deal but if it didn’t line up with how negative of an experience I had last time at this place I wouldn’t care. Last time I came on a double date, had a general air of attitude from our server but also tbh I had no idea who our server was. We had to order things multiple times because they were forgotten. My friends drink was forgotten twice my chips were forgotten and still I had no idea who our actual server was. They need to have a better system or something 7 people on the floor for the service to be this poor is a bit ridiculous. Won’t give up on this place yet but plssss change something about your system.
The guacamole and totopos were excellent, and the cocktails tasted amazing. What wasn't great was being told we needed to leave by 7:30 AT 7:25 because there was a waitlist meanwhile my friend and I had still had full drinks left. That gave us only 5 minutes to finish the $16 drinks that we paid for. How does that make any sense? If we were given a heads up at the beginning there was a two-hour maximum dining experience that would have been fine - then I wouldn't have ordered another drink. Instead, we were given 5 minutes to finish up and get out. That's a ridiculous policy.
Be warned, the wait can be 1-3 hours and they don't take reservations. The service was painfully slow. A few drinks and 2 appetizers took over 1.5 hours. The chips they provide with the guacamole is a laughably small amount, and they charge another $4 for a small bowl of chips on the side. The cheesy refried beans are flavorless. I only finished them because I paid $10 for a small bowl of them and I despise food waste. The drinks, however, are phenomenal and totally worth it. Wish there were more bar seats because that's all I really think this place is worth coming for.
The food and drinks were fantastic, but the service was soooo slow. My friend and I waited over an hour to be sat on a Wednesday night, and our waitress hardly came by to check on us - we had to flag her down more than once. I think if this place figures out the service aspect, it will thrive.
Am I crazy for giving it 3 stars? To me, the food was just okay. I understand why they price the way it is as the dishes come in tiny, single portions. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere definitely has a vibe. But the acoustics made it so loud that it was hard to hear anything, people were practically shouting just to have a conversation. It doesn’t help that the tables are packed closely together in a small space, which only amplifies the noise. To me, this place is more of a cute date spot for tapas. A drink and a few small bites. If you're looking to leave satisfied, I left still hungry despite ordering multiple dishes. And for portions that small, I was surprised at how long it took for the food to come out. The consomé was fine but probably the most underwhelming just a few shreds of chicken with some beans, and barely any rice. The aguachile was good, but I wish it came with more chips; I ran out before I could finish the dish, which was a shame because I really enjoyed the texture. The gordita de chicharrón was also tasty, but again, way too small for my liking! I wasn’t dissatisfied, but I also wouldn’t go out of my way even though it’s in the neighborhood unless I’m craving small snacks with drinks.
Just come here for the vibes. The Chile relleno taco was outstanding. But everything else was underwhelming. The ambience is friendly and inviting. But the reviews on the food are not true. $8 for a Carne Asada taco is not only pricey, but the taste doesn’t match the price. I would also skip the Cochinita Pibil tacos, as all the juice is just left on the plate and not coming directly from the meat. The pickled onions in the tacos were pretty good. I’ve come here two times already. Both on a Monday evening after 10 PM as the kitchen closes at 11 PM , and you can just walk in instead of waiting more than an hour. Both times the service has been AMZAZING. But the cocktails don’t deliver. There’s no complexity in the drinks. There’s no contrast or flavors that complement one another. these are drinks that can most likely be made at your local dive bar for half the price (the presentation juat won’t be as nice) . I would go back. But just to get chills relleno taco, I need to try the Aguachile, and they also have Modelo Negra on draft which is always a plus. 3/5 stars

this restaurant is a cute concept but it’s really flawed. the cocktail list is longer than the food menu. all they really offer are some appetizers, tacos, and one main dish of the day. i had the Chicharrón meal of the day for thursday. it was basically just soggy chicharrón chips in a green verde salsa. and the rice and beans were not seasoned AT ALL. truly gross. it would be better if they added carnitas to this dish. i will say that we ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and it was REALLY good. i spend a lot of time in mexico, and this was better than any guacamole i have had there. the servers and host was super nice as well. i just think this restaurant needs to rethink their menu. it was disappointing.
Had this place saved and was excited to go. Food was good, drinks were better but can’t help but feel the price point is way off. The $8 al pastor quesadilla was the lowlight—street taco sized with less meat and flavor. Got the special of the night—$25 verde enchiladas—hoping that they’d do something, well, special. Not really. It was good but for $25 for three small enchiladas with a bowl of rice and beans, I wanted great. Sobre masa tortillas were a good touch but can’t get behind that price. Cocktails were worth it but food portions to price ratio was all the way off. Not a ton of Mexican to compete with in the area so maybe that’s part of it. Maybe I ordered wrong, too, but not wowed/curious enough to come back. Overall, my meal was good, not great with prices that disappointed.

I visited Dolores for the second time today, on a double date. The food was good. The Gorditas were really tasty. We also really liked the Taco Manolo. Unfortunately, our experience was dampened by the service. One of the servers had a pretty bad attitude. We weren't exactly sure why. We had to ask multiple times to get things. The other server was nice enough, perhaps he was overcompensating. I ordered a second Negroni and it never came. At that point, we were sort of over it, so were my friend just offered to make me one afterward at his house. We all live in the neighborhood, so we were rooting to have a great experience at a newer neighborhood spot. It's unfortunate that we left with a bad taste in our mouth, especially at this price point!
I went there Monday night and sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. The cocktails were tasty, however the food was so-so. I got the daily plate special which was not particularly flavorful, just over salted. In the beginning, the service was prompt and friendly, however the quality waned as the evening went on. My friend and I paid the check, and remained chatting for 5-10 minutes while we were getting ready to leave. The bartender then came over and said “If you’re not ordering anymore drinks, can you leave?”. I understand the sentiment of clearing out the seat for other customers (we were in process of doing that!), but there’s definitely more polite ways of requesting that. I won’t be going back, there’s plenty of other amazing restaurants and cocktail bars in the neighborhood.
Vibes are great, food is not
The space is cool and the cocktails were yummy, but the food unfortunately was really underwhelming. Disappointing especially given the price, the wait time, and the positive reviews. You can find much better food nearby
The only highlight of this establishment is the beautiful decoration. Note that ambiance does not equal decoration. The dining experience was disappointing. The way the restaurant does not take reservations despite a small space artificially raises the restaurant’s “prestige.” Our hostess was lovely though! Arriving at 5PM, I was able to get a seat at the bar. I was asked if I wanted to join the waitlist. The cocktails were truly disappointing. Enormous cups will with more than 80% ice. Cocktails are served in large cup—this gives the illusion of a large drink. Plus, some cocktails are topped with unnecessary garnishes, rendering the drink difficult to enjoy. The price of the food is astronomical for the price and serving size. Portion size is TINY. The plate of the day barley can feed one person comfortably. While service was okay at the beginning, the longer we sat at the bar (despite ORDERING more cocktails), service got slower and unfriendlier. Additionally, we had to order our food TWICE because one of our items never delivered. Of course, the longer we dined the fuller the restaurant got. I felt that servers were giving us a side eye for staying at the restaurant for “longer than we needed to.” Maybe we didn’t need to “overstay” our welcome should our whole food order arrived at once.

Where do I start ? Arrived tonight around 930 pm we were sat at a table as walkins. We waited over 20 minutes and no server even acknowledged us. I had to personally look for the server and ask if we could order. Service was nonexistent and too busy taking shots and talking to each other the whole night. Terrible service throughout. Now let’s get on to the food, the highlight of the night was the first dish we ordered which was the guacamole which was super fresh and delicious. We ordered the Aguachile which honestly one of the worst aguachiles I’ve ever had in my life, there was no spice level at all and no flavor. We then ordered the Gordita with Chicharron that barely had any meat and had more cilantro and onion than meat. I think they also put the spice they forgot to add to the aguachile onto to the Gordita as it was ridiculously spicy. Last but not least we ordered the tacos manonos which was some of the worst tacos I ever had. Terrible flavors and tasted terrible.
We put our names down at 5:45, were quoted 1.5-2hrs, never got a text, checked back in 2 hours later and the host quoted us another 1.5-2hours. This was for a party of 3. Meaning we now couldn’t get in anywhere else either as it’s now 8 pm. So can’t review the food as we’re not eating here - but can’t recommend it yet until they figure out their service.
I have no idea how this place has received so many positive reviews in the NYT, Infatuation, and Eater, etc. The food tastes nothing like Mexico City cuisine, or authentic Mexican at all for that matter. There was nothing special about the food here whatsoever. The portions are laughably small and for how much they charged for everything, as we still left hungry. I guess the new Gen Z model of a restaurant is an emphasis on the interior design of a restaurant, rather than customer service, since our waitress took our order and we didn’t see her again until the end of the night. We had to flag down random waitstaff to refill our waters, give us plates to eat our shared appetizers, or do any of the basic things you’d actually expect to be the purpose having a waiter in the first place. Just because your restaurant is popular right now and you don’t take reservations doesn’t mean you don’t have to work for each customer who walks in that door. If they’d come by more often, we might have ordered more drinks or more food and they might have made more money. This is no way to run a restaurant.
