Avis sur Don Mario Brooklyn
They have the best frozen margaritas in town hands down. Food is amazing. Service is always quick smooth and they are super friendly. I tell all my family and friends about this hidden gem. 💎
Don Mario was not our original dinner plans, but we are so glad we decided to sit, drink and eat here! We sat outside on a beautiful September night. Started out with chips and salsa for the table. Quickly ordered Mojitos, tasty! and when leaving, I was able to get a to-go cup for my mojito! That’s a win! All the food we ordered, was delicious. They offered several sauces for the food, the white garlic sauce was my absolute favorite, i asked for extra. I would totally come back here.
Went to Don Mario during one of Bay Ridge's Summer Strolls, which are always a fun way to experience the diversity of this area's dining. They had a special for $5 margaritas, which we got (and were really good!). I got a chorizo burrito, while my friend got a quesadilla. Both were really good, and the wait staff were really friendly and attentive. The pricing, for NYC, was really good. Definitely a good dining spot for Mexican in Bay Ridge.
Staff is great. Food is amazing. Portions are enormous for the price. Quality is great. I had suspicion about the piece of well done steak, but it was tender and juicy and didn't have alot of connective tissue. You want a substitution, no problem. They have happy hour M-F 11am - 7pm, $5 for some drinks, and Thursday ladies night 2 for $5.
Stumbled upon this place with the wifey while wanting to try a new spot... Glad we did the food was excellent.
Mango margaritas are on point. Most say they are in my top 3 in Brooklyn. Bartenders are friendly and attentive.

This place recently opened and they are serving really good food and drinks. They specialize in Colombian and Mexican cuisine. The service is great, they want to accommodate your requests and make you feel welcome. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and the prices are good. This is for sure a great addition to Bay Ridge.
I have love for this restaurant. I ventured here with a client for lunch we had fun and you can definitely imagine big portions! Such a cute ambience and friendly staff. Love that vibe
love love love their food and the service is great! So far my between my boyfriend and I, we've tried there rotisserie chicken, cheese flautas, tortas, and sides. All of them have been great. Last but not least, their frozen drinks are really good.
I love this place everyone is so friendly the service is great the place is beautifully decorated the food is wonderful I had a steak with mushrooms with yellow rice and black beans it was delicious I love the Mac amole it was so cute it looks like a tiny boat and I recommend Sebastian for your waiter because his a gentleman, sweet, a great personality, and has a good energy it makes you feel you want to party and your with a friend. Has an amazing dessert called flan you should order it and it's fluffy and soft.
Don Mario's Family Combo #1 has been feeding my family for years. One of the best take out values in Bay Ridge and always good. Hint: if you like tortillas, warm up a few of your own. They don't give you many, even if you order extra. Everything else is great.
Their rotisserie chicken really is that good. Piña coladas are strong and taste like coconuts. Guacamole is flavorful and smooth. Stands out from neighbor Las Margaritas by having similar menu (and pretty sure they share the same kitchen), but with a number of Colombian favorites, and just plain better executed dishes. We'll be coming back to El Don very soon, even if it's just to get one more of those rotisserie chicken tacos.

I usually love this restaurant the foods good. But I’m so disappointed when receiving my chicken. All the breading came off and the chicken tasted hard. The rice and salad are good I’m not sure what happened with the chicken.
Ordered bandeja paisa. Chicharon, was soft-ish, and worst of all, the softish skin was all covered in spiky prickly fried fur/hair from the pork. Very dissatisfied as the best part of the Chicharon should be the crunchy skin, that i cannot eat with all the hair. Rice was the highlight of the meal, it was good.

I always order from them and their food is really good but today I found a bug on my lemonade that’s very disgusting. Please be more careful. It was a very unpleasant experience.
BIG ROACH ON THE WALL THAT MY TABLE WAS UP AGAINST. My mother, best friend, and I went to eat dinner tonight at Don Mario. I will start off by saying that we are frequent customers for years. My mother lives in Florida and Don Mario is a place she enjoys eating and ordering food from when visiting. My friend and I work in Bay Ridge and order lunch from there almost weekly. Tonight, we decided to go out to eat at their restaurant and almost immediately upon arrival the customer service was not pleasant as it usually is. Our hostess and waitress both had very nasty attitudes. We just took it as an off night. Half way into eating my friend noticed a big roach crawling next to her on the wall. The table is up against the wall and she was startled. She killed the roach with my flip flop and put her flashlight on to see if it was dead. The waitress came and said “you are making people stare” she had no concern for the fact that a roach was so close to our food and the paying customers killed it. Her resolution was the move the table away from the wall. Non apologetic in anyway. My mother who is over 60 years old said she would appreciate if they adjusted the bill taking off half the price of the food since we only ate half and there was plenty left however, we lost our appetite. They brought us our bill and did not adjust half of the food and they asked several times if the check was ready for them to take. My friend said as soon as we finish our drinks as they were full we will pay and leave. We felt like they wanted us out not to have others realize there was a roach. But no attempt was made to make it right with us except to remove one meal off the bill which we thought half off the food and paying full price for our drinks was more fair. The way my mother was spoken to was totally unprofessional and disgusting. The waitress acted ghetto (for lack of a better word) and totally disrespectful to an older woman. I explained that we are returning customers and we give them business all the time we are essential workers and even gave them business throughout the pandemic and the way they handled this situation was extremely upsetting and there was no manager available to speak to. We were told they don't care about our business and us being loyal customers and to never come back and basically the waitress very nasty “dismissed us” Instead of trying to make things right they would rather lose 3 out of town loyal customers who drove in from another borough to eat at their establishment. It is truly appalling and I am livid of how my mother was spoken to or more accurately screamed at! We will never return again unfortunately not even because of the roach but because of the incredibly nasty unprofessional attitude from the wait staff. Apparently they are only nice to take your money and if there is an issue a board of health issue for that matter they have no customer service whatsoever. I suggest bringing your money else where because a place that doesn’t care about loyal customers, doesn’t care about any customers.
Never really tried the food so I’m not rating this off of how the food tastes. Walked into an empty restaurant with my girlfriend where the hostess asked if we were ordering to take out or sit down. We responded sitting to eat and she answered with “oh well we’re charging an extra $15 per person to sit because we have a boxing match on” which personally I don’t care about and was told even if we’re not staying for the entire fight we need to pay $15 each just to sit down. I’m sorry but this customer service is a big no for me and honestly wont be spending a dime here ever.
Waited 45 min for food, the place is a joke. My son ordered a Mexican Hagua de Orchata , which he loves in other places, not here the taste was awful, he described it as sour, so when i took a sip it tasted disgusting, never again going to come here. The place used to be good before not anymore. Sorry but spending $150 on food and drink plus $30 tip it's not worth it . Going to take my business elsewhere.
Apparently Uber Eats orders are prioritized ahead of patrons that sit down to eat. We sat down to eat on our lunch break and watched as order after order was shuttled past our table during the span of 40 minutes. When the wait for our food became ridiculous we began to question how long could we expect the food to be ready in, and were told in five minutes several times. After about 50 minutes of waiting we decided to take the food to go because we had been waiting for close to an hour at this point and had to get back to work. Funny thing happened the lady at the front desk then disappeared into the kitchen and didn’t return for another ten minutes, it was at that point I knew I was never going to eat at this restaurant again, that was the general consensus of the group that began forming at the door. Good luck to anyone spending money there, because I can say with the utmost certainty I will not be caught in the ponzi scheme that is Don Mario at lunch.
