Very nice place, dropped in here after Brooklyn Bridge Flea Market on Saturday afternoon, had a wonderful, tasty salad. Cool vibe, chill music, very nice and attentive service. The only annoying thing is the endless stream of people coming in to ask to use the toilet, like there was a public toilet sign somewhere - and some even getting upset at being refused, with a sens of entitlement. Must be annoying for the staff.

I entered this place blinded by hunger with my friends after being clueless in dumbo. I will say with confidence this place is great! I the tomato sauce in the rigatoni was very tasty and all the pasta’s were cooked al dente or at least to our liking. I’ll point out that the price is above the average price I’ve paid for a dish like this, but it didn’t hurt because the dish tasted better than I expected anyway. I would happily go here again.

Excellent food and ambience, we order prosciutto pizza and burrata, they gave us an appetizer and also dessert on the house, really amazing!

The pizza was beyond savory! This restaurant gives a very romantically dim-lit vibe. There's sparkling and tap water offered. The pizza was pretty affordable. The waiters are all very lovely and quick on their feet. I can't wait to return. My friend enjoyed their lasagna a lot as well. I definitely recommend this spot.

we came here for some pizza. We got 3 varieties. Each pie was AMAZING. The arugula & prosciutto was my fave. Hope to come here again next time it rains

Fontainhas truly is a hidden gem. From the second you walk in you're greeted with welcoming music and warm vibes. No pressure to get in and get out. Just like the perfect cup of Chai they want you to take your time and enjoy your stay. You can tell that this just isn't just a business for them its family. And for you it will feel like home.

Nirvana … and I don’t mean the band. This Indian spot has delicious everything, from chai to nibbles to small talk. Locals, transplants, gentle lighting, sustainability: Brooklyn is sweet in all corners & this might be my fave spot in DUMBO to linger 💜

The royal chai is one of the best chais I've tried! The mango smoothie was excellent as well. The service was great.

The atmosphere here is always warm, cosy and welcoming. They usually have relaxing beat music on. The staff seem very kind and friendly. The royal chai is the best chai I’ve ever tasted and I have tried a lot.

The place is very nice and cozy, and the staff are extremely friendly. They handle any issues very professionally. I once ordered a dessert that took longer than expected due to a mistake while taking my order, and they kindly offered the entire order as a complimentary gesture. The coffee and food were really great, and I also enjoyed the music by the Haza band.

This adorable coffee shop serves the best pastries and, hands down, the most amazing chai latte. I had no idea a chai could be so delectable. It’s further proof that all other coffee and tea shops have truly lost the art of crafting a great drink. If there’s a better chai out there, I hope someone can share the information. It’s been a while since I’ve had a latte that truly impressed me.

Fantastic addition to the Indian food scene. And a very different menu than the others. Food is cafe-style, light bites. Killer chili cheese toast and vegan omlette bun (besan cheela in a bun). Definitely get the full combo of tomato soup and cheese toast for cold, gloomy days! Lassi is good, and so is the doi salmon on toast (tried on a prior visit). For me, the star of the show is the cutting chai! I always end up ordering a second one!

I love visiting this Indian café in Brooklyn—their cutting chai is truly the best. The masalas and flavor are so perfect that I keep craving it. Since it’s so close to Brooklyn bridge park and pebble beach, I enjoy grabbing a chai and taking a stroll by the water. It’s also a very cozy café where you can log in to work or enjoy a perfect brunch with your journal, just being yourself with your thoughts. I tried their avocado toast too, and I love how they infuse Indian flavors into many of their dishes. Their menu is incredibly unique. The avocado toast was really good, but the cutting chai is what stands out for me—it’s the perfect drink for soulful winter afternoons in New York City.

The cafe’s soft lighting, charming interior, and modest furnishing created such a cozy and relaxing ambience. The service was also great, and the food was delicious— the tomato soup and chili cheese toast was very flavorful albeit heavy, but definitely planning to come back for that! So addictingly good 😋

We enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere. The chai was so good, I'm not sure why I ordered a cappuccino too but it was also good.

Pros: - good food (the kathi roll was eaten before a pic was taken) - the chai is made infront of you (the one with rose, saffron & salt is elite) - cozy vibes on a rainy day Cons: - get there early as food can run out - a bit smokey inside - overpriced for the portion size Thank you

Very airy space with comfortable booth and cushion seating to work or chill. There’s a full cafe and bar menu, including beer, wine, daytime pastries and plated food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best masala chai I’ve had. On the pricier side but worth it. Small shop with interesting curated selection too.

The service of the barista was other level, gentle and nice according to the vibes of the place, the royal chai … no words, is amazing! Also I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese bread, a great combo!

This is my second time here. first time with my sister and second time w my bestie. loved it both times. We are two vegetarian Indians and we loved the food and drinks, I definitely recommend going here again and again. I think if you grew up having south asian flavors, you’ll appreciate and love the vision of this restaurant and nostalgic feel. We spent $58 for all of this (including nimbu sherbet) 🍞 Chili cheese toast + tomato soup is a very cool indian twist on an american classic. It was torched to give it a nice outer shell with a creamy inside (like crème brûlée). 🥪 We loved the paneer house sandwich it was toasted in Amul butter (iykyk). It was toasted to have a nice crunchy exterior. It was spiced the right amount and had a very nostalgic taste for us. 🧈 Bun maska was soooo buttery and the bread was dense and soft. I liked dipping it in the tomato soup. ☕️ The royal chai had a perfect blend of sweet and salty, topped with saffron! 🍋 Nimbu sherbet so refreshing. not too sweet and can be customized with spices. 🛍️ Not to mention the dukaan has cute south asian inspired nicknacks.

THE place to get authentic chai in DUMBO. Great vibe and atmosphere. Wonderful proprietors. The food is very good - nice place to grab some down time and relax as well. Highly recommend.

We started with a cutting chai which was nice and a small serving in a cute Indian roadside glasses. Quite unlike the huge paper cup options serving 12 or 16 ounces of the beverage. It was an Indian fare suitably adapted for a western clientele. The paneer or chicken bowls were good with a nice presentation and a variety of items in small quantities. We had both the paneer option and the chicken bowl too. I enjoyed both but the lady members of the group really enjoyed the paneer option because it was a somewhat different presentation of paneer compared to a traditional style. However, the khichdi was very slightly burnt which wasn't visible but was slightly discernable by its taste. The crunchy element in the bowl was a nice touch. We also had the kathi roll with and without the bacon and it had a nice taste and was fairly filling too. We enjoyed the outing and by New York standards it was reasonably priced too. Before I forget they also have a small section for selling ethnic Indian style handicraft items. I enjoyed the outing and most likely we will visit again the next time we are in New York.

Very good food, but the waiters all gathered on the counter and it was very, very difficult to call them. We had a Prosciutto with mozzarella as starter — goes very well with a Primitivo wine! Gnocchi al Forno and Pappardele with boar ragu were also great.

The house sandwhich was amazing, The bhel salad was a little bitter for my liking and the cutting chai was very well made. Service was extremely slow as it took over 35 mins to get our food but the place itself has a really cool vibe to it and is nicely decorated.

Nice space with a really nice chai and snacks menu. Chai smell is fresh and strong. They also have a small merch shop with many cute things. Their tote bags are the best.

Lovely cafe concept, with a unique selection of drinks and varying quality food items. I had a comforting masala chai that I wish was served hotter. The owners and staff were very nice I wouldn’t recommend this place primarily for food. I know its a cafe and not a restaurant, so I am reviewing it as such. The paneer bowl was decent and refreshing for someone who wants a bite while stopping by. The tomato soup and cheese bread were unique, but quite simple and small for $16. I do think some options could be improved for the price to be competitive with other good cafe food. I love the concept of this cafe, and it seems to have formed some community. Hope to stop by again when im in Dumbo and want a drink!

The waiters had that attitude where they are better than you or not worth their time. I did not feel welcomed. Also its cash only so know before you go there. The pizza was small and a bit pricey but good. I liked the food.

i ordered their rustic pizza which features sopressata and red peppers. the pie came out within 5 minutes which is nice if you want a quick bite. the pizza itself was decent— nothing really outstanding about it. the tomato sauce and cheese were pretty standard and the sopressata was one of the redeeming qualities. they do use a brick oven to bake their pizzas which adds a nice charcoal/smoky flavor

Drinks were all around good but the food left something to be desired. The chaat board had good pani puri but we were all disappointed by the rest of the board and the uttapam was undercooked.

interesting experience. didn’t know you could really go wrong with pizza in Brooklyn, or pizza in general, but we made the mistake of wanting to try one of the unique Wood Fire Pizza options, so decided on the Soppresata!!! pizza. But received a much different pizza than what was featured on the online menu. As a frequent traveler and long time F&B myself, I’m not normally one to leave negative reviews - but draw the line on receiving a pizza with Maraschino cherries on it. We didn’t sent it back considering how long it took to get our glasses of wine (20 mins) and pizza (30+),on a Monday night after 7, despite the 3 other tables in the restaurant already eating when we’d arrived, we were hungry, disappointed, and still had an open mind about trying the pizza. If the pizza didn’t have the maraschino cherries on it, it would’ve probably been good, but a $67.50 bill (not including tip) for a pizza, 2 glasses of wine, and a single shot espresso… honestly, wouldn’t recommend.

The food was not worth the price. The location was cute. The drinks were mediocre. The presentation was very underwhelming. What saved everything was Arthur our server The location if you don’t mind passing trains over head is decent. The drinks were mediocre and poorly executed. Dishes served on super chipped plates. Arthur who I wish I had nothing bad to say still didn’t really know the liquor they had at the bar. And had to be reminded to bring certain items to the table. Miss matching silverware, the roughest napkins, and barely any ice in the drinks. Especially on a very warm day that it was. This occasion reminds me why I always Google search and read reviews on places so that I have a heads up. So that when I’m out on a date and not just randomly picking a spot because of a location. That is worth my time, calories, and hard earned money. Thank you for a horrible experience will never recommend and will tell others to stay away

$30 for a vegan ice cold pizza I'm not living far and the driver told me that it wasn't even hot anymore when it got picked up Why is it without tomato sauce? Even if it would have been hot it would be overpriced. inedible They haven't responded to my message or phone call, not interested to improve.

Kudo's to the pizza baker, great pizza with thin crushy bottom. The service without a smile. That girl came without any request from me with the receipt and herself made 22% tip in it. Without any shame, no smile nor eyecontact and without any words. Shameless. I do not recomment

On October 3rd, at approximately 7:30 PM, I entered Love and Dough Pizzeria. My uncle had just purchased a box of pizza, and within 10 minutes, I re-entered with two little girls, ages six, to use the restroom. When I asked the manager, Stefon, if the children could use the bathroom, he was extremely rude and dismissive, despite me explaining that I was a paying customer. Hoping for help, I approached the waiter, Alex, but he looked me up and down and walked away without a word. The cashier, Ri, was the only staff member who showed kindness. She listened politely, though she seemed embarrassed by her colleagues’ behavior. Because she could not resolve the issue, I purchased another slice of pizza ($5.25) just to be able to allow the children access to the bathroom. Only then did Stefon return and say we could use the restroom as though I had not already been a paying customer. The entire interaction was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely lacking in customer service etiquette. The pizza itself was below average, but the bigger issue was the negative energy, dismissive attitude, and lack of basic courtesy from management and staff. I told them to keep the slice I had purchased and suggested they give it to someone in need, as I refused to take it after such treatment. I will not return to this establishment and cannot recommend it to anyone not because of the food alone, but because of the appalling behavior and lack of respect for customers.

S
Saianna Solomon

My one-star rating comes not because of the sub-par yet overpriced pizza, but due to the abysmal service and treatment my partner and I received during our less-than-30-minute stay at this establishment. Both waiter & host barely said any words to us. The waiter, in serving my partner his ordered drink, slammed the glass onto our table abruptly and left. Said waiter also brought us the cheque before we even finished our pizza. We received the message loud and clear and so we paid and left not long after. I suppose the one good thing about the situation is that we did not have to wait long for our meal to come to our table, so we were not subject to spending too much time in an establishment where we were clearly unwelcome. I've now read the other poor reviews from other POC on here and should've done it before patronizing this establishment. Regrettably dined in on May 31st at around 2:30pm.

Literally just went here, 5/10/25 , 7:15 pm, and guy at the door has the energy of a bouncer! Blocking the door! Are you closed? No. Whites only? No? I see a Sister sitting in the front. Weird, I didn't feel welcomed! Totally turned off and went next door to Tommy's Bar and Burger, which was friendly, welcoming, and with better ambiance and food and drinks were amazing! Don't go here!

B
Beth Duffy

Do not order anything fresh here. My salad had tons of rotten lettuce, some old, cold, tough brussel sprouts, some of which had brown centers, some grated Parmesan, and the one edible part of the salad- toasted pine nuts. I got to sift through all of this while seated next to a filthy wall.

L
L V

Terrible experience. The manager was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and borderline aggressive. We had friends visiting from Germany and wanted to give them a classic NY pizza moment. We saw the large pie on display and asked if we could order it for the table—happy to pay for all the slices or even an upcharge. The waiter initially said no but suggested asking the manager. When I politely explained the situation, the manager abruptly and repeatedly said “no” with no explanation, just cold, dismissive responses that made the staff visibly uncomfortable. I remained polite the entire time, but his demeanor made the entire experience uncomfortable and embarrassing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Spending $200 has never hurt so much! Here’s his photo so you could stay clear of this place!

J
Julian Ochoa

I would give 0 stars if I could. The place had a a funky smell but I gave it a chance. Shouldn’t have because the smell definitely came from the spoiled cheese that was on my pizza slice. I couldn’t even finish my pizza. After I left I checked out the market across the street for about 10 minutes before my stomach started to hurt (probably from the pizza) I had to use the restroom so I went back here and was turned away, first because they said I wasn’t a “paying customer” after I reminded them of the pizza I just bought they changed it and said “the restroom is for dining customers only”. Terrible, spoiled food and even worse hospitality. DO NOT give this place your time or money.

The lasagna taste horrible, n the hangar steak tasted spoil the only good thing was the fries 🍟 for the price we paid $100.00 with tip it was not worth it , I do not recommend this place at all 👎👎

J
Jessicah Nakamura

I would give zero stars if that was an option. $100 for two pizzas and plain pasta. The pizza was just okay, and the pasta was overdone mush. The service was awful. We waited forever for our food, they refused the simplest requests (no sauce on pasta), and then we waited forever for our check. Every table around us was complaining about food arriving late or incorrect. The table next to us had to ask three times for cutlery. Then, the server had the absolute gall to tip herself above the standard percentage on my card, requiring me to contest it with my bank. Lastly, the chairs are cheap plastic, and every time we moved, the legs went out from under us - and trying to get to the door in a tiny and overcrowded space was anxiety-producing. We will never come back.
