5/5, 10/10 EXPERIENCE AND FOOD. The crust is so light and fluffy but crispy and not heavy. The flavors are exquisite and pop with every bite. I got the Chicken Prosciutto slice and my gosh, it was amazing. Literally best pizza I’ve ever had. Also the following pics are the before and after of my slice and if that doesn’t speak for itself, I don’t know what will.
Great pizza and available by the slice for variety! Love their NY style “deep dish” pesto. The thin crust artichoke hearts pizza was another favorites of ours
The service was extremely attentive! They even offered to adjust the thermostat when they noticed we might be cold. The vodka and mushroom truffle slice are delicious.
This is not a joke or exaggeration..This pizza shop has the best pizza I have ever had in my life. The crust is crispy and soft inside and it’s perfect. I’m here almost every week for this pizza. It’s only this location for me. They are my favorite and the staff is like family
This place has quickly become my go-to neighborhood slice, and I genuinely look forward to stopping in every time. The pizza is consistently amazing — Thin, crispy, hot, & so satisfying. It honestly reminds me of the pizza I grew up eating back home in Jersey, which makes it extra special for me What I love most is the variety; They always have such a great selection of slices, and sometimes I secretly hope they’re a little low on plain cheese so I can try something new — Bc every time I do, I end up loving it. The Caprese slice is especially delicious (and somehow feels lighter + fresher if you’re trying to get some greens in) Beyond the food, the staff here is incredible. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, & clearly works really well as a team. On one visit, one of the guys working there noticed me and casually asked what I wanted to drink & brought me a water :’) Such a small gesture, but it really meant a lot & made me feel so taken care of The space itself is cozy and inviting, and they recently renovated, which makes it feel even more open & comfortable. I love sitting in the back and looking at all the photos, decor, & little mementos while waiting — It gives the place so much character & warmth Overall, this spot never misses; Amazing pizza, great energy, & genuinely kind people — If you’re craving a solid slice, this place delivers every single time
BEST PIZZA EVA!!!! Seriously, the best pizza. I lived in NYC for over 17 years and this place is the best. I moved and J&S is the only food I miss. I even saved one of their pizza boxes, framed it, and it hangs in the kitchen. Miss you Big Guy Joe!!!
I drive up from Virginia to Brooklyn every few months to visit and while I'm there (and before I leave lol) I always make sure to grab a few slices. The pizzas are absolutely AMAZING!!! The flavor is full, the ingredients are fresh, the staff really makes sure that you leave happy and is a true neighborhood spot!!!
We ordered Joe and Sal's pizza for a school event, and the whole process was wonderful. Their pizza was a huge hit, as were their garlic knots. People kept asking where the pizza was from because it was delicious. The store made me a fan, and now I will definitely go there with my family.
Genuinely this could possibly be the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had. Everyone in the location was immensely kind and had great energy. Joe himself even took my order and with an employee offered us hot honey, olive oil and fresh parm to top our slices. I’ll definitely keep this spot in mind next time I’m back in Brooklyn.
A true hidden gem. Best pizza in NY. We love dropping in for a slice and we ended up ordering Joe and Sal’s for our casual rehearsal welcome party before our wedding. Everything was amazing and they even threw in extras. Their communication, kindness and of course the food, was above and beyond. Thank you Joe, Sal and your team for being the best!
Neighborhood gem ✨️ I have been coming to this place almost every week. Sometimes multiple times a week. It's my go-to pizza spot. I have introduced 3 people to this place and they are all hooked so it is a tried, tested, and proven best pizza spot in Crown Heights. My #1 go-to is the La-Burrata pie. Thin crust, fresh burrata cheese, fresh basil, and tomato... it all just melts in your mouth. Next, is the Nonna pizza if you're into Sicilian style. Yum! My tip is to get a full pie instead of slices because A) it will be freshly baked. B) much cheaper that way. Their pasta is also really good. The penne alla pesto and fettuccine alfredo are what I have tried so far. I will update when I try more. This place has history and a reputation as a solid pizza joint. Dave Portnoy, the pizza guru, gave this place an 8.1. But I round that up and give it a solid 9. There's enough seating area and Tiffany lamps for added aesthetics and a vintage feel. They also have a memory wall with pictures and notes of people who have made memories in this place. And of course, the Godfather references and an Al Pacino portrait 😉
Very surprised and sad that I didn’t come here sooner! Tried their Sicilian square and original slice and both were excellent. This is a quality Brooklyn pizza joint with the vibe that seems to be missing from a lot of places. The owners were very friendly and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Definitely looking forward to my next time here.
Woooowwwww! I went on a Thursday afternoon to grab slices and dessert for my friend and I. Everything was amazing! The pesto burrata was so flavorful and creamy. The everything seasoning on the pepperoni had me loving the crust just as much as the rest of the pie. Not sure what the last one is called but I think it had like sesame seasoning on the crust and it was delicious! Service here was also excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful with suggestions. I think one of the owners, Joe, was at the counter and he was very sweet. I thought the prices for the specialty slices were a bit high, $6.50, but after eating, I felt they were well worth the price. Highly recommend you try this place for good pizza with good quality ingredients and flavor.
Excellent pizza with a thin flavorful crust (medium crisp and great chew) with great sauce and cheese. One of the best slices I have had (I got the pepperoni). They give a big discount if you use cash. Prices are $3-$5 ish mostly and slices sizes are regular. They have tons of pizza options by slice (10+, including deep dish), pasta, desserts, salads etc. Seating for about 6-8 people is available inside the store.
THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE, IMO. I ordered spaghetti meatballs and baked ziti. Both ended up in the trash. I got 3 big meatballs, one of which was burned and not edible, and a box of pasta. I was not able to digest it. Idk what they used to cook it but it had me extremely bloated after 2 bites. I saved the baked ziti for a different day because I had to recook it. On top looked backed, but after I peeled the first layer back, NOTHING ABOUT IT WAS BAKED, more like boiled. I eventually added my own sauce and some spices to it, it was barely edible but I ended up throwing half of it away. I wasted $28 for the food here. Idk about their pizza but their food is not good. Also wait times are LONG!
I ordered pizza for family dinner through Slice around 6:40pm on Dec 31st. The app said the estimated delivery time was around 8pm. By 8pm, the status only changed to out for delivery. We waited and waited, and never saw the pizza arrived the whole night. The status got updated to order completed at 9:30pm. We tried to call the place multiple times, but never got picked up. I bet the pizza is delicious, but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY from them.
