This family-owned restaurant is a true gem! My family and I have been coming here for years, and we always feel so welcomed. The food is consistently delicious. I always order the Lagman soup noodles, manti, polov, fried noodles, and lamb kababs. The kababs are incredibly juicy and authentic, and the noodles are simply divine. Everything is fantastic, and don't forget to try their homemade compote! If you're looking for authentic Uyghur cuisine, this is the place to be.

Had their classic Laghman with broth and Shashlik. Laghman was pretty good. Noodles it could be better. But overall still good. Shashlik meat was unusually soft. I guess they smash it before cooking. Tasted pretty nice. Serving Lady was was pretty kind but can be more attentive to tables.

Insane. The lamb dumplings are the most fusion-ist food I've had in my life. The inside is Lebanese but the dumpling part is east Asian and the sour cream dip is eastern European. Crazy crazy good. Omg LOVE

First time trying Uyghur food and it was amazing. It had the taste of other central asian cuisines, with its unique ideas, like pepper and pak choi in soup. The kebab was insanely good and juicy. Also the tea was poured into bowls, which felt nostalgic. The atmosphere was lovely with traditional music and decorations.

Guys, If you are looking for really special delicious food made with love, come to this place. Small but unique place to taste special food from midle Asia. Very nice and polite service. From the first moment you feel like the special guest. That's all. Any additional words are unnecessary...

This place is SO good!!! My friends and I wanted to try Uyghur cuisine during a trip to Brighton Beach, and Kashkar did not disappoint. The restaurant is peaceful and charming, and our server was welcoming and delightful. There is a lot of choices on the menu, and all our dishes were delicious. Our favorites were the jujava dumplings, bosu laghman, and polo.

We have been meaning to try Uyghur food for a while. Looks like Brooklyn has a bunch of restaurants. Kashkar is a cute place. Compact, but has some panache. We added the Bosu Laghman after checking with the person attending and lamb soup. Both were quite good. The pulled noodles, being what they are, may feel a bit chewy, but we realize that is the idea. Sitting outside on a Sunny day was a good plus as well.

Absolutely delicious food! Loved the different Lagman noodles and the meat pie. Friendly service. Cozy restaurant very close to the Brighton Beach train station and beach boardwalk. Street parking is tough in the area. Definitely worth traveling to. Will be coming back again soon!

very authentic and kind, friendly service. they sell yutaza (best eaten w/ stew, not alone!), which is a rarity to find. the meat is cooked excellently, just how it should be. it was a hot beach day, so we got compote, samsa, lampeng, and kawap (aka kebabs or shashlyk) in true Uyghur style. Pro tip: ask for the condiments (vinegar and lazajan) if you see it missing from your table! my family has been eating here for years, and we’re happy to see it’s still standing.

Wow. Just… wow. I've been searching for authentic Uyghur food like a desert nomad craves an oasis, and folks, I've found my culinary Shangri-La. This isn't just good; it's so good it makes me question every life choice I've made up until this point that didn't involve eating here. Let's talk fried manty. These aren't just dumplings; they're crispy, savory pockets of pure joy. I'm pretty sure angels sing when you bite into them. And the langman soup? It's like a warm, comforting hug from a kindly Uyghur grandmother who also happens to be a Michelin-starred chef. The noodles are perfect, the broth is rich, and I'm convinced it has magical healing properties. My only complaint is that I couldn't swim in it. Yet. The service is what I'd call "charmingly efficient." There's literally one waiter, who I suspect is also the owner, the busboy, and possibly moonlights as a secret agent. Despite being a one-man show, he's faster than a gazelle on a caffeine rush and surprisingly delightful. You'll feel like you're eating at your cool aunt's house – if your cool aunt ran a killer restaurant. The atmosphere is pure neighborhood gem – casual, unpretentious, and exactly what you want when you're about to dive face-first into a plate of deliciousness. Don't expect white tablecloths; expect to be incredibly comfortable and ready to get down to business with your chopsticks. Just a heads-up: they prefer cash, probably because their credit card machine is still trying to process how much flavor they're serving up. But they do take cards, so don't sweat it. In summary, if you're looking for an authentic Uyghur experience that will make your taste buds do a happy dance and your stomach sing praises, run, don't walk, to this place. My only regret is that I can't give it six stars. And that I have to leave. I'm already planning my next visit and debating whether it's socially acceptable to just move in.

We visited on a Friday evening and the place was packed by the time we left. We enjoyed the egg plant salad, the fried hand pulled noodles, and the kebab trio. A cozy spot when you’re in the mood for Xinjiang cuisine. The music playing was unique but went well with the flavors of the food.

Great atmosphere! I tried the lamb Lagman with hot sauce, and it was incredible. This was my first time experiencing Uyghur cuisine, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I’ll definitely be coming back.

A real local place. Great for after a beach day. The food is flavorful, deliciously seasoned, and cooked with warm love. The vibes are friendly and comfortable. 10/10 all around, can’t wait to go back. We loved the lamb kabobs (both lamb and lamb ribs) and the noodle dish. Also, the compote juice is delicious and the pitcher is a right amount for 3-4 people.

A HUNDRED STARS FOR THE FOOD!! We drove all the way from New Jersey, rain on the way, spent 20+ minutes to find parking, ordered right away after seated, waited for the food to come. AND THE FIRST BITE, SOOOOO GOOD! I don’t care what they said about the service, I don’t care how hard to find parking, the food here is absolutely worth it!! It’s like the anime Chūka Ichiban background music blasted out from the back of your head when you taste super delicious food. That was so so so worth it for us to come at the late night all the way from across the river. Definitely will come back again and again!! Dumplings were good! Chicken and lamb skewers were super good! Plov was super super good!!

A cute, homey family restaurant specializing in homemade Uyghur food. The Lamb Ribs Kebab was the standout—it was tender, juicy, and meaty. We found the fried noodles to be slightly too salty and oily, but the overall experience was welcoming.

The lamb kebab was notably juicy and flavorful. The bosu lagman was good too, as I was would expect from a standard fried noodle dish. Funny enough, my favorite discovery was trying the Natakhtari pear carbonated soft drink.

My first time playing ever having Central Asian food (and it did not disappoint!) They’re not lying when they say they have the best kebabs in the city. Their chicken kebab was fantastic and I very much enjoyed their beef dumplings. On top of that, very friendly service and a very chill and traditional atmosphere. Definitely a place to go to try something new!

This place gives off cozy and old/historical vibes. Food wasn’t so much of a taste. But the best part is the food is HALAL and cooked by Muslims. The Pollo/Pulov had so much oil that we extracted in another plate. It is very expensive with a very small portion of food. The service is very good though. It would get 5 stars for all the down sides. Parking is not easy but if you are lucky, you’ll find parking in the streets. The kebabs are a small portion as well but tasted better.

Had seen an infatuation article about Kashkar; a friend moved around the corner so we decided to give it a try. I was happy to support local - the restaurant has a very family run feel - they do not rush, are very kind and friendly. But prepare to be at the restaurant for at least 1.5-2 hours. Food - highly recommend the noodles w / vegetables. Fresh, thick noodles. The samsa is also VERY hot on the inside - I badly burned the roof of my mouth on the minced meat inside of the samsa. Very affordable. Lots of food for $60.

How does it have 5Stars?!?$ may be locals supporting local businesses, food is horrible, bland, table next to us got up and left with plates still full! We should've left right away but stayed. Beshbarmak was a disaster. Soup was salty! Kebabs drowned in cumin!

I recently ordered from this Uyghur restaurant and was disappointed with the food. I ordered both the fried and boiled mantu—while the dough was nice, the filling was lacking. The meat was almost nonexistent, replaced by a lot of white fat and onions. I also tried their samsa, which was just okay, nothing memorable. Overall, the flavors were bland, and I definitely won’t be returning.

I went to this place last night (12/19) with my boyfriend for dinner as we always wanted to try Uyghur cuisine. The food tasted really good and flavorful. However, the service was absolutely terrible. if we could give minus five stars, we would have done so. We ordered several various items from hot appetizer (dumplings), to two main courses and beef kebab. The server never told us upfront that there is longer wait time for the kabob to be prepared. It wasn’t until we finished the appetizer and main courses (which came before the dumplings appetizer), asked for the check and for a doggy bag about 50 minutes later, when the server said the kabob was coming. At that point we told him to cancel the kebab. But, to our utmost bewilderment, the server ignored us and brought the kabob in a to go container with the check, that included the kabob. The server proceeded to try and force us to pay for the kabob in the rudest possible manner. A verbal argument and a totally awkward situation ensued to the point, that all 4 tables were staring at is. Finally the couple at the table in front of us stated that they would take the kabob, deescalating a totally unacceptable and unnecessary situation. There was also no other servers or a manager on hand at the time to intervene with the server’s rudeness and zero customer service skills. Even with the food being decent, I would never recommend anyone visit this terrible place and put themselves in a totally unacceptable situation like that. Another tip, be aware of this restaurant cheating people with misinformation. The prices on their site are MUCH LOWER than the actual prices when you walk in. This is how they lure you in. We spent over $65 for all the food we ordered for 2 person dinner.
