This is probably some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. This restaurant is also very beautifully. The staff here was extremely friendly.
The food was excellent as always. However the only drawback is that the ventilation is not as good as it should be. Their delivery man was outside smoking while waiting for the food to be packaged and the smell/smoke entered the restaurant. Not sure if anyone in the restaurant smelled it, but we did and spoiled our experience a bit.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. The staff were very welcoming, and the food was extremely fresh. It's definitely a restaurant I would visit again.
I order the Tripple Sushi to go, and it's always super fresh with generous slices of salmon & tunas.
I grew up in South Brooklyn with no shortage of sushi experiences and options- Kiku is by far the absolute best. I first tried it about 15 years ago and I’m so happy that nothing’s changed. The tom yum soup is my favorite, it’s flavorful but not so spicy that you quit halfway through. The sushi is super fresh, not too much rice, try the Kiku Roll! I really can’t say enough about how perfect this sushi spot is. Please go and keep it in business forever!
The food and the service is always excellent here. I love the sushi as well as the noodle dishes. I've had many dinners here with my family as well as with people from my martial arts school. Always a wonderful time. Bonus - the place is very kid friendly and the staff has little toys and balloons they give kids. I've brought my toddler son there twice and he loves it too.
The staff are nice and my rating for the restaurant is this: Gyoza: 5/5, it comes at the perfect heat and has the perfect crisp. In addition the sauce tastes amazing. Salmon: 5/5 even though it looks bad it tastes amazing but it is very greasy and fatty Tuna: 3.5/5 it looks pale and is to thick and chunky. Rice 5/5 Eel: 4.5/5 delicious but very chunky Yellow tale: 5/5 but chunky White tuna: 5/5 tastes delicious and is charred at the top, definitely the highlight of the meal Scallop: 4/5 tastes good but is too chunky Tempura ice cream: 4.5/5 Service 4/5
We wanted to eat at Naruto Ramen but discovered that they are closed. We passed by Kiku last week, and we wanted to try it. My family enjoyed this beautiful restaurant, it's clean, and the employees/workers are friendly. The food was so flavorful, and it was well seasoned. The sushi rolls are out of this world. We will most definitely be back.
Great food and service! The decor is very nice and welcoming. The staff are always attentive and patient. I usually have the Thai fried rice and the sweet potato tempura roll. My friend and I split the vegetable harumaki (spring roll). She enjoyed the gyoza and sweet potato tempura roll as well. I like the presentation of the fluffed up sweet potato tempura on the roll! They also make decent mixed drinks.
not sure if this is affiliated with all the other kiku' s in the neighborhood, but this place was bustling with a bunch of people on a Friday night. night mostly people who are laid back and cozy and overall food tastes great and presentation wise could be better, but it was a good place to have some nice tasty noms. we had the salmon avocado, that you'll avocado, and the crunchy spicy tuna roll which were all very good, but the crunchy was probably the best in terms of flavor and texture. then we had the chicken udon and the broth was lacking that umami flavor, but the noodles were very bouncy and nice and portion size was great. we had some green teas that were bagged green teeth. oh yeah! kani salad can't go wrong with that. overall not bad
Found this place as we were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat dinner after 10. Staff was super nice. Food was pretty good. Got a few pieces of sashimi, baked bass roll, sweet potato roll. The sushi was pretty much what you expect for the price. Also ordered the Thai basil tofu which was ok. Liked the crispy ness of the tofu and the heat but there was zero Thai flavors.
Back on 3/21/22 - I had the triple sushi plate again, very good and the miso mushroom soup. Another excellent meal. 12/3/21 back for dinner. Had the sushi combo and the miso mushroom soup. All good. 12/2020: First time here. Nice spot, good menu w/ plenty of choices. Friendly service and the food tasted good. Fresh sushi and nice hot sake. Will return to try more.
Kiku is a Pan-Asian restaurant offering a wide variety of dishes, but I felt the menu suffered from being too broad. While each plate captured the essence of what it was trying to represent, many lacked the depth and intricacies that make authentic Asian cuisine so memorable. For my meal, I tried the chick mushroom lettuce salad, the Thai basil chicken, and the avocado salad. Unfortunately, none of them fully delivered on the bold, fresh flavors I typically associate with Thai or Vietnamese food. Overall, the experience felt more like an introduction to these cuisines rather than a satisfying execution of them.
Ordered in what I thought was a lot of food. $80 plus tip. Amount of food was a joke. Really. Don’t order from this place. It’s a scam how little they offer.
Horrible delivery service. 1.5 hours over quote delivery time. And Insult to injury, extremely nasty staff and delivery person. The worst food experience I've had in Park Slope, so disappointing. But there are amazing sushi restaurants here...not this one.
