The food here was so delicious. Authentic Spanish food and nice employees. Definitely will be going back soon
Good food and reasonably priced. The tres leche dessert looked good, I may return to try it out. The wait staff was friendly. Give it a try.
Great service and the food definitely delicious!
I've been searching for a place in Brooklyn that sells Yaroa! Now I don't have to drive all the way to Queens! Great place with authentic food!
The rice and beans were really good. The baked chicken had a great flavor.
I order for delivery from here and it’s delicious every time!
Great place Great food Great atmosphere.... can't go wrong for a good amount of food for a great price...oh yes the food is delicious.
I ate here two nights in a row. The first night, just rice and beans with plantains and the second, chicken with rice and beans and tostones. The food was tasty, the portion size generous and the price reasonable. Will return next time I'm nearby.
Really good fresh latin food, lots of variety. Average price is $11 a plate for lunch but it's yummy. Oxtail is the best when it's available.
ITS GREAT TO FIND A PLACE THAT THE FOOD IS GREAT AND THERE'S PARKING!
The best Latin food in Park Slope. That style of food has been served at this location for over 35 years and about 3 different owners but the food is better than its ever been.
Always a good Dominican and Puerto Rican food. A small sit down but worth the meal.
Yummmy! Def good food . Spent bout $11 with a juice. Wish the bean had some potatoes or some kinda fuller beside that I’d say it was good .

Spanish food, not gonna say real and authentic like other people, if you know you know, this is for my New York Natives, one of the best places to eat in Brooklyn!
My girlfriend and I came in for breakfast today and had one of the best meals we’ve had, in NYC (or anywhere else) at any price point. Let alone the fact that the portions are huge and the prices are incredible and the person serving us was friendly and helpful. Everything here is perfect, from the prices to the tastes to the portions to the people. I enjoyed it so much I had to look up the appropriate way to say thank you- you may need this when you go: ¡Esa comida estuvo a otro nivel, gracias!
We ordered food for 10 people for an event. Rice, red beans and a piece of roasted pernil. Super flavourful, juicy. Everything was spot on. This is the only Dominican restaurant from Staten Island to Brooklyn that has the right flavor and is always consistent.
Great, authentic food. Don’t expect Michelin star interiors here - it’s pretty bare bones. But delicious, affordable eats.
Definitely good, but kinda false advertising they had preprepared food. The menu was worthless as they would only serve the food that was prepared. That said it certainly was delicious, chicken wad tender 8/10
When I provide lunch for my clients.. I order from here. The food tastes great, not salty, great portions and literally food made fresh all day long. My clients love it and the prices are excellent, especially how much food prices have gone up and quality has gone down. You'll enjoy your meal for sure by eating/ordering from Rice & Beans!
The pernil is excellent. They know how to make it right and crispy

This is a simple small restaurant. Nothing fancy. Food is good and prices are affordable 👌 and the ladies at the counter are very nice 👌.
Good Spanish (Dominican) food at very fair prices. The ladies that run this operation are friendly, fast and offer larger than expected meal portions. The overall space is small and can really only fit about 8 diners. I would recommend taking your food to go. Also the earlier in the day you go, the more food options are available. Credit cards are accepted.
I work in the area and been coming to this rest for about 12 years for bf and lunch and i can say the food is fantastic, there is always a variety, prices are fair, and the attention from the employees is great, love Maro. I must say the food had lost its touch for a few months but that was taken care of. For bf my favorite is the mangù, and for lunch.. the oxtail. "Must go" place.
Layout/atmosphere *Steam trays/luncheonette; four tables in back for dine-in Food/drink *Pernil with yellow rice & pinto beans - good; skin had nice crunch; portion not completely filling
Food is Delicious and the hospitality is great. Every now and then they change hostesses and cooks but the service and food remains unchanged. My family and I are regulars when in the mood for Rice and Beans.
Decided to try this Dominican spot. Rice and beans weren’t as authentic as we expected but the meats were delicious. Small but filling. Small dine in area but good for a quick to-gos.
Nice deli with ample variety of food options.
The food was excellent. The one reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it’s a bit more expensive than I would expect.
Food was ok, good pork & rice 🤗

After seeing this many times from my co workers, I finally got to Rice and Beans. My co worker got it for me as takeout (so I can't rate the inside/service), so this is just strictly based on the food. The container was packed and very neatly packaged. The chicken is just as flavorful as it looks, however the rice and the beans didn't match. It lacked the authenticity that I was looking for, but the chicken carried the meal! I will be getting chicken from here again yes, if it's sold alone.

Great place. Cheap and good. Amazing portions but the Spanish rice is dry.
I went into this place after not having been here for a few years. I just got a standard order of rice and beans, with a 1/2 chicken. No veggies or other sides. The food was as good as ever, but I couldn't believe the price, $15 dollars! This is just a small, hole in the wall type place, with everything out on a steam counter. The price has almost doubled, from just a few years ago!

I ordered my lunch based on the images of the menu. The food looked amazing so I went for it. I ordered the CHICKEN STEW that comes with rice and beans. What I got was a ton of rice, beans, and four small pieces of dried chicken. NOT CHICKEN STEW. NO CARROTS, NO POTATOES, NO STEW!!! NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN AND I HAVE ALREADY WARNED ALL OF MY CO-WORKERS.
The food is good most times. It gets frustrating when they don't know english. The girl upcharged me and said they make their own prices. So be careful they don't charge u diff. I placed order at 215. She said 15 min. I got my food after 45 min later and I asked her for it when I got there in 20 min. Since I was on my lunch. She may have forgotten to place order. If so why the attitude? New Cook has attitude. They are scared because they don't know english so they just say nothing which is rude in America.
I used to be ok coming here the food not the greatest but it’s edible. Recently they employed a young lady who is very stingy with the amount of meat she gives and I will no longer support them due to this
Food presented well but Tasteless and underwhelming food. Highly disappointed . Greta customer service and calm atmosphere. I ordered rice and beans with baked chicken and plaintains. 11.44 +1.02 tax came out to $12.46 using my Apple Pay

Me and my crew were really hungry and we were looking for a new spot to have lunch…we saw this restaurant and said, you know what, let’s give this place a try, it’s 11:30 and they are serving fresh lunch at this time…bullshit, I ordered rice and gandules, baked chicken and sweet plantains…what I got was old dry chicken and sweet plantains that were dry and cold and not cooked all the way…they gave me tons of rice, a quarter of chicken that needed lotion and horrible plantains that were disgusting…I am Puerto Rican and I know great Spanish food but this place is hands down the worst, save your time and money, don’t aggravate/disappoint yourself…they charged me $13 and I never went back and I never will…”Trust me, save your money and energy”…this place should be called leftovers since that’s what they served me…seriously…
Refuse to give me my money back, the lady didn't put the lid on tight enough and the food fell out into the bag, along with the napkins. Lost $8 for the spaghetti and meatballs. 😠😡Lost 2 customers at that.
Very poor service took a large piece of meat out of my order after cook said in Spanish give him small and charged me $.100 extra to take my beans separated to go for two meals
Literally just ordered from here for the first time & the food is AWFUL, the rice is hard, the chicken is halfway cooked, the absolute worst Spanish I’ve ever ate!
Unfortunately, they do not speak any english. Can’t order over the phone. But if you go in, you can point at the food you want. I got chicken with a side salad. The salad comes with no dressing and they put this huge piece of mushy fat in my chicken. We placed a large order over the phone, went to pick it up and then they started putting it together. They forgot the empanada we ordered.
I had to give 1 star cause I wanted to post a comment the food in there is disgusting it’s a Dominican restaurant with a Mexican chef no Caribbean taste to it whatsoever. The meat is overcooked no flavor at all. I regret spending my little $20 there what a waste of time and money
I ordered food from them on Saturday the 29th of April 2023 and today is Monday May 1st. My husband and I both got food poisoning and by Sunday (their closed) the food was spoiled (smelled bad). I ordered the soup that I didn't get a chance to eat but my husband had a few carrots and I put some of the broth on my rice. I ordered bake chicken as well as the stew and two cakes with the milk at the bottom which was dry. Never again and be aware they sell old food and mixed with new. Also there's no parking.
Absolutely the worst experience and only truly bad experience I've had here in New York. I walked in politely,, with a smile and said in Spanish asking do you speak English? The lady gave me a dry look and said one word NO... I was sort of thrown off waiting for her to say she was joking or something.. another lady walked in and I asked her if she spoke English she said yes I told her I was just trying to ask the lady what the items were on the buffet she laughed said something in Spanish to the lady behind the counter and the lady looked at me and literally pointed and started screaming beans! Fried Chicken! Pork! Etc and asked me what do I want... I told the lady of front of me go ahead and order they both laughed and that's when I said you know what forget your attitude I'll find someplace else at the end of the day I found a lovely restaurant on 5th Avenue and told them what I had just experienced where they said yes we've had many customers come in here that were turned off by the attitude at that restaurant and stumbled upon this Spanish restaurant needless to say the moment I walked through the door they greeted me with smiles and were very kind if you don't mind a nasty dry attitude please have at it... Disrespectful unacceptable and unnecessary attitude
This is the first time I've ever written a review.. that's how annoyed i am because you don't play with people stomach..for $28 i ordered beef stew with rice and beans and a Tamarindo juice, they pack the the pan up with more rice then stew..they literally just gave 3 pieces of meat...and they sent me papaya juice instead of Tamarindo...never again😒
If you eat here use cash. The server I had added an additional $5 tip to what I already tipped her.
They don't have manners, respect, and obviously no customer service. I get you may not speak English but have some courtesy. I have never seen something like this before. Never again.
Great food, horrible service, they never have deliveries available after 4PM and the charge you more at the restaurant when you pick it up personally than when you order a delivery. For example: if you order a lunch special to be delivered to you, they will put the beans separately and charge you 12 dollars. But if you go in person they want to charge 16 if you want your beans separately. Does it make sense? No. 1 star.
Terrible. I got a fork that seemed USED it had leftover rice in between the fork... I asked for another fork & received attitude for it. Their seating areas didn’t have any basic equipment. No salt, ketchup, nothing. Their mangu was flavorless… the cheese omelet was alright but the home fries were not. The service was just not there at all either.
