Tom Yum Noodle Soup here has quickly become one of my favorite dishes. The bowl arrived looking vibrant and inviting, with a rich broth that strikes the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory flavors. The noodles were cooked perfectly soft yet pleasantly chewy. The toppings were generous, and each ingredient added its own character to the bowl. The broth had a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the tangy notes made every sip refreshing and incredibly addictive. I would definitely return just for this Tom Yum Noodle Soup. A must-try for anyone who loves bold, comforting Thai flavors! 🍜🔥🍋
We had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant. We ordered grilled pork skewers, stir-fried eggplant basil with seafood, and drunken noodles. It was delicious and had an excellent Thai food profile, which we could not find anywhere else in the neighbourhood. So, this restaurant became our favourite place to go! We highly recommend it.
I have to admit, this is one of the best Thai restaurants and sense of comfort food I’ve had whilst living abroad. My go-to is always a Pad Kaprow and I’ve never visited a Thai restaurant more than this place after becoming a regular here. It’s my second home and astoundingly run family business!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Tong Dee Thai. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Krapraw Moo Sub Kai Dow, and the dish was outstanding—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I truly enjoyed every bite.
Okay, so Tong Dee used to be Mee Thai. They closed for renovations and came back with a new name, and the food is still excellent. This is that reliable neighborhood spot where you sit down and instantly relax because you know dinner is going to be good every single time. Tonight I tried the Thai sausage fried rice and I could not have been happier. The sausage was sweet, and the rice had a rich umami flavor. Excellent. My girlfriend’s pad Thai was solid with springy noodles and balanced sauce. Five out of five, all of it. Easy recommend for weeknights, cravings, and everything in between.
I recently visited TongDee Thai , and it was easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. i ordered curry puff and grilled pork chop which was perfectly for my dinner. especially, curry puff was a five star. The place was clean and cozy. Definitely coming back again!
Tong Dee translates to “must be good” And Tong Dee Thai delivered. Small spot right on 5th Ave. We went for lunch and took advantage of the lunch deal. 1 entree with 2 free appetizers Food was fresh, service was fast, no complaints.

Excellent new Thai restaurant on 5th ave near DeGraw st just opened called TONGDEE in the old MeeThai place. We tried the Kow Soi and Pad Thai and also the Krapow Moo sub Kai Dow and Papaya salad, all very good! We will be back!
The Kow Soy Kai here is absolutely delicious, and it’s definitely a dish I recommend trying!

I recently returned from a trip to Thailand and loved the food there! Tong Dee Thai restaurant made me feel like I was back in Thailand! The food was exceptional and absolutely authentic! The vegetables were fresh and the chicken I had and the beef my husband had were cooked to perfection. We had great service and the prices are very reasonable. Will most definitely visit again!
this little unassuming place has fantastic Thai food- and I’ve been to Thailand! We had the massaman curry with tofu and the mock duck pad see ew, both fantastic and on the sweet side. This place is great for vegetarians. Prices are very reasonable as well. Only downside is they do not have their liquor license yet so you can’t order alcohol.
If you want a place to enjoy some good Thai food. Then this is the place. Love the curry puffs. And the basil fried rice is to dye for. Ordered the lunch special and 2 side. Great prices. Will definitely be coming back. Even met a Celebrity. Sunita Mani. What more can you ask for. 5 stars
Awesomeness all around. Shout out to the chef for the exquisite preparation and fine presentation of each of our four entrees. Ordered the steamed vegetables as an appetizer and it was perfection. The staff is amazing! Love the design and decor. A truly magnificent experience. Grateful to everyone that has delivered a wonderful place where three generations can go and everyone left with warm feelings. This is a favorite for our family.
My partner and I been coming to TongDee since they opened. Food quality and service has been consistently great! Our go-to option is drunken noodle but we love all the dishes we’ve tried so far. The owner is kind and warm and always gives us helpful recommendations when we are debating what to order. Special shoutout to the legendary chef who makes delicious and memorable food that we really enjoy and appreciate🤗🤗 thank you for being in our neighborhood and we highly recommend this place to everyone! You’ll be glad to try their food;)

A GEM in the neighborhood. Amazing lunch specials, and their mock duck is such a tasty protein to get in any of their noodle dishes and I'm not even plant-based. Their duck salad is sooo tasty with lots of textures and fresh herbs, and it's a great portion as well! Everything I've had so far has been delicious, and I can't wait to try more dishes.
Possibly the best Thai food I’ve had in NYC — and it’s reasonably priced! After trying countless Thai spots around the city, this place truly stands out. We had the Pad Thai, Thai Basil Eggplant, and Fried Rice — every dish was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. It feels like a hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back more often. That said, we noticed the food tasted noticeably better on weekdays than on weekends — not sure why, but something to keep in mind.
Very pleasant experience. Would suggest to anyone looking for a good lunch special! This may not have been my favorite selection of Thai entrees however. The massaman curry did lack a tad bit of flavor in my opinion. Also my partners pad Thai didn’t have much sauce. It was just noddles sautéed. I did enjoy the didn’t flavors of Thai tea I would say that’s a must!
