Avis sur Konditori Brooklyn
Love the new clandestine move to the location across the street (old Something Else building) and updated bagel menu. The Konditori charm really comes through in the larger space, can’t wait until it’s safe to hang out inside again. Bagel lox is on point, great schmear selection, and the coffee is as good as ever.
Maria made one of the best lattes I have ever had and Thea was so sweet at the counter! I also had a killer sandwich. Everyone working made it a great experience both in atmosphere and in service 10/10
I’m surprised I haven’t stopped in here sooner. Cozy and laid back bagel place with good coffee and friendly staff. I got an egg and cheese tomato avocado on and everything bagel (with garlic aioli per the recommendation of the cashier). I also got a half caff Americano with oat milk which was delicious. I appreciated sitting in and watching the vibes on 5th avenue. Lovely experience and I’ll be back!
I work on the block and go almost daily. All the sandwiches are delish! And Thea the barista is so wonderful and kind. Definitely recommend!
I’ve been to two locations (Smith St and 5th ave) and had good experiences. Iced oat lattes are good, bf likes the matcha latte with almond milk and cappuccino with whole milk. Breakfast sandwiches are proper portions (thick), good bagels. Solid spot, we come here somewhat regularly.
Vegan strudel awesome!!!! Wish they served cinnamon bread (also vegan) by the slice with a cup of icing. Only sell the cinnamon bread by the loaf and I can’t eat (or carry) all that. First vegan strudel I’ve had in the nine years I’ve been vegan. Coming back tomorrow for more!
During our trip to New York, we went for a walk in the neighborhood and randomly picked this place, and and oh boy, was it a pretty lucky random pick. Its been half a year now, but we've been talking about their bagel ever since. One of the most cherished memories of all the trip, a true little gem hidden in Brooklyn. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is absolutely amazing, and the breakfast was the cherry on top.
The 5 star review is for the amazing decaf latte! It was soo good. No burnt taste, no bitter after-taste. Perfect balance of milk and expresso. Unfortunately the large cookie wasn't great. Too hard, not very chocolat-y. Also the barista made an amazing drink, but sadly wasn't very personable. Still, would absolutely recommend the lattes!
I’m not sure how authentic a Swedish experience it is — all I have to measure it against is IKEA — but it’s a nice little cozy place with tables and stools and pretty decent coffee. The music is good and the WiFi is free. There’s nothing cheap about the coffee and pastries, but it’s all quite good. And if you come close to closing you get like half off pastries.
The 12oz drip coffee is $2! And it's really, really good. The best value in New York. The flavor has a bit of "brightness" to it, which I enjoy. And it's consistent across every cup. Equally remarkable on price, the cafe au lait is $2.50 and if you ask for a decaf drip, it’s also $2.50, and it's a pour over! And after 4:00 p.m., most of the pastries are $1, including the vegan muffins and delicious almond croissants. The bagels are excellent and the bags of day-old bagels near the register are an inexpensive way to contribute to a potluck gathering. Their bacon, egg and cheese wraps are a giant step above the bodega BEC and include an optional butter/ garlic sauce. Despite the corner location, massive floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows, soaring ceilings, exposed brick walls and generous use of wood, the space is strangely uninviting for lingering. A table blocks off the back third of the cafe, which is visible and used for storage. The sidewalk facing windows are occupied by a refrigerator for grab-and-go juices and an unused foosball table. With a little (no-cost) furniture rearranging, the atmosphere of this place would be great. With additional seating, it would be fantastic. Come on Konditori, bring this space up to its amazing potential!
So let’s start with the coffee, I started with a MAPLE LATTE WITH ALMOND MILK, it was great loved it, not too bitter not too sweet it was well balanced. My partner in crime had a CARAMEL LATTE WITH OATMILK, this thing was good but what set it apart was that it tasted like a Guinness with milk if you’ve ever had it… the thing was good. Now on to the Yum-Yums. I had a MIXED-BERRY SCONE and THE GAMEOVER SANDWICH. The scone was excellent 5/5, not too dry because of the berries juices creeping into the dough and had a flavor that just screamed spring is here and balanced well with the coffee. THE GAMEOVER SANDWICH is a bacon, egg n cheese with tomato, jalapeño and house sauce on a bagel of choice, has a nice little kick to it. 5/5. My partner in crime had a chocolate espresso coconut ball. (This thing was a YESSS keep them coming) Only qualms with my experience was the WiFi wasn’t working well, not really a their fault kind of situation, the bathroom was employees only and there space in the back that can be used for more seating.
Ordered delivery from here and this place has gone downhill. The added a laughable amount of cheese to my wife’s egg and cheese. Hashbrowns sucked. Quality of the bagel was not good either. Just do better or close up shop.
My matcha latte was not good at all. It tasted watered down. The muffins are creative but dense and tasteless. The atmosphere is very cozy and the music selection is very nice. It was R&B. Service was quick but as far as options go, I can’t recommend anything here. Go to the coffee shop down the block instead
