Opinions de Konditori Brooklyn
Lovely coffee shop with good coffee and pastries for on the go. Have done well with the pandemic and the newer larger location makes that all the better.
Do yourself a favor and get the CHEDDY WAAP! The house sauce is A+. They also have one of the better cold brew / iced coffees in Park Slope.
Great coffee, friendly staff. The place is clean and quiet. Wonderful experience. Also, they have a bathroom :)
I never leave reviews but I just had an exceptional breakfast sandwich. So delicious! Highly recommend.
I've only ever gotten the iced mocha here, but every time it's consistently delicious!
the couch at the back is super comfy. very calm atmosphere and a great experience overall.
Great coffee and bagels. And stuff was very pleasant
One of the best BECs I’ve ever had. Great coffee too.
Cheddy Wap is a fav.
The cashier is super sweet and helpful
Great espresso drinks, cold brew and house coffee. Pastries are always fresh and yummy. Beyond a coffeeshop, this place is a community. A place where neighbors gather, meet old friends and make new ones.
Great Swedish coffee in the center of Brooklyn. Their pastries cost only a dollar during closing time! Good excuse to get their cream cheese croissant which was delightfully fluffy.
A small, quiet shop with plenty of seating. Great for reading or meeting someone. There's vegan options 😎☕ I found cookies, muffins and a very friendly staff!
Konditori has some of the best coffee in the neighborhood. It has a nice variety of coffee and pastries. The vibe is low-key, comfortable, and laptop-friendly.
Each day we visit this fine establishment for a refreshing Cold brew served up by friendly, outgoing staff. Always a positive moment to set the mood for the rest of out tour.
I really like this place and the folks working at it! Lovely coffee, muffins, and space to work. It can get busy at times, especially on the weekends, but there are a number of tables outside so if the weather is warm enough it's great to grab a coffee inside and go outside.
There’s no shortage of coffee shops in Brooklyn, but Konditori is up there with some of the best coffee around, and plenty of choice too. There are limited options for food, but what they do offer is done extremely well (check out the muffins and croissants). Really friendly and genuine staff too. Definitely worth popping in.
Great little neighborhood coffee shop with some vegan treats! I recommend the cookies (somewhat on the sweet side, but very yummy). The baristas are always very friendly. Seating is very limited — some of the tables and chairs are a bit rickety — so not the best place to come with a laptop to sit for hours on end to do work.
Lovely space for sitting with a nice coffee and pastry. Variety of vegan and gluten free options that are all delicious. I recommend the vegan ginger molasses cookie! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Good neighborhood spot!
Venue is small. Staff friendly and knowledgeable BUT the best decaf EVER decaf iced latte) since I have been in NYC, and I am from Jamaica where Blue Mountain coffee is our staple. This is now my spot. Worth the $5.00 and no limit on debit card ($1.00 up). I am in love.
The guy who has been working here over the past few weeks is a lovely person, very sweet and always seems to be in good spirits. Thanks for serving me a tasty oat milk latte with what I’m gonna guess is a smile under that mask! You rock! Also coffee is really tasty and the choco balls, a Swedish treat, are TO DIE FOR!!!
This is my fave place! I come here every morning and the guys know my order. We talk & joke around & theyre wonderful. And of course i love my iced tea & the occasional pastry. While theyre all tasty, my faves are the cardamom biscuit and pumpkin spice muffin (im not even a huge pumpkin fan but this is yummy!).
Great donuts!!! Their coffee is better than Gorilla Coffee in my opinion because it will bomb rush you with caffeine. Just the perfect amount of caffeine in a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Plus, their coconut donuts are killer
Just got the hot chocolate on a quick morning stroll and it’s delicious! Nice calm atmosphere in the cafe too. Haven’t tried the food but they have vegan and gluten free options and it looks like a great variety too, not the typical “here’s the one vegetarian option on the menu” 💪🏾
Love the cavernous space, the comfy big couches and most of all the coffee! I'm picky about my coffee and while not a coffee snob - I do like it smooth (the way you get in Europe and not the VERY strong version generally in the US). Konditori has all types of coffee intensity here but I usually get the smoother kind - and I'm so happy I can get it here! Except for only one occasion, (where it was near closing - so the coffee may not have been that fresh) - every single time, especially in the mornings and afternoons - it's always been a hit! They always play great music too. :) Hope they stay in this location for a long long long time!
I get my coffee beans here weekly—good quality for the price ($13/bag). They have great bakery too - but word to the wise - the vegan and gluten free bakery is often the most visible/towards the front, so don’t miss the regular stuff that’s kinda hidden! non-vegan ginger cookies are sublime
An amazing spot for sure! The coffee with creamy and delicious. The service was great and quick. The bagel was filling with perfect amount of filling. Thank you to the staff that served us yesterday!
Great bagels !! Been trying different places around park slope. I got sesame a bagel with scallion cream cheese. Lightly toasted with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Delicious with that perfect crust not too doughy. So I went again the next day. Again as good as the first time
Love the new clandestine move to the location across the street (old Something Else building) and updated bagel menu. The Konditori charm really comes through in the larger space, can’t wait until it’s safe to hang out inside again. Bagel lox is on point, great schmear selection, and the coffee is as good as ever.
Maria made one of the best lattes I have ever had and Thea was so sweet at the counter! I also had a killer sandwich. Everyone working made it a great experience both in atmosphere and in service 10/10
I’m surprised I haven’t stopped in here sooner. Cozy and laid back bagel place with good coffee and friendly staff. I got an egg and cheese tomato avocado on and everything bagel (with garlic aioli per the recommendation of the cashier). I also got a half caff Americano with oat milk which was delicious. I appreciated sitting in and watching the vibes on 5th avenue. Lovely experience and I’ll be back!
I work on the block and go almost daily. All the sandwiches are delish! And Thea the barista is so wonderful and kind. Definitely recommend!
I’ve been to two locations (Smith St and 5th ave) and had good experiences. Iced oat lattes are good, bf likes the matcha latte with almond milk and cappuccino with whole milk. Breakfast sandwiches are proper portions (thick), good bagels. Solid spot, we come here somewhat regularly.
Vegan strudel awesome!!!! Wish they served cinnamon bread (also vegan) by the slice with a cup of icing. Only sell the cinnamon bread by the loaf and I can’t eat (or carry) all that. First vegan strudel I’ve had in the nine years I’ve been vegan. Coming back tomorrow for more!
During our trip to New York, we went for a walk in the neighborhood and randomly picked this place, and and oh boy, was it a pretty lucky random pick. Its been half a year now, but we've been talking about their bagel ever since. One of the most cherished memories of all the trip, a true little gem hidden in Brooklyn. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is absolutely amazing, and the breakfast was the cherry on top.
The 5 star review is for the amazing decaf latte! It was soo good. No burnt taste, no bitter after-taste. Perfect balance of milk and expresso. Unfortunately the large cookie wasn't great. Too hard, not very chocolat-y. Also the barista made an amazing drink, but sadly wasn't very personable. Still, would absolutely recommend the lattes!
I’m not sure how authentic a Swedish experience it is — all I have to measure it against is IKEA — but it’s a nice little cozy place with tables and stools and pretty decent coffee. The music is good and the WiFi is free. There’s nothing cheap about the coffee and pastries, but it’s all quite good. And if you come close to closing you get like half off pastries.
Cute vibes! Don’t get the matcha latte tho. It’s just warm milk with slight matcha flavoring :/
Great food and coffee, but pretty mediocre service. No bathroom.
Nice place. Vintage looking. Very tastee strong coffee. Delicious cake slices.
Great coffee and great vibes. This place has delicious pastries and a few Swedish specialties that you won't find at your average coffee shop. If you're a coffee lover, you should pay Konditori.
Bagels are good but food service can be slow because they have only one short order cook at a time. If you can’t wait 5 minutes per person in front of you, better off at the bodega.
Great Coffee & Gluten-free Muffins and treats. I just can't stand the pretentious A-hole clientele that frequently go there. The same people that can't say excuse me. Look at you like you don't belong in the neighborhood. Let's remember I grew here you flew here Jerks!! Other than that good spot... Ha! I'm serious tho.
Coffee was pretty good. I like this location and the staff were very friendly. I like that its quiet and Im able to get lots of work done while being there. This is a great coffee shop!
Good coffee place with reasonable prices for the area. Don't drink coffee, but I'm told it's good coffee. Would be nice if they had more non-coffee options, also wouldn't hurt for a slight refresh on the decor/paint.
Love this place! Great coffee ... great pastry ... and super nice staff. The barista (Wikipedia: is a person, usually a coffee-house employee, who prepares and serves espresso-based coffee drinks) made me this amazing cup of properly brewed European coffee and he painted a cute teddy bear into the foam AS WELL. I was delighted. It made my day! Proper skills need to appreciated.
Food five stars, service three stars. Delicious and creative spicy sandwich. Rude unfriendly and unhelpful barista. Sandwich guy was very nice. No seating or bathroom that’s not good. Come for the sandwich and just know that the rude barista is no reflection of your personality. You are a gift and you are beautiful and you deserve love and respect from every barista. Shine on kings and queens. 👑
Great customer service. Love their peach, zucchini, and carrot(?) muffin. Coffee pretty good. I have yet to try any of the Swedish coffees but this place is definitely a favorite.
The 12oz drip coffee is $2! And it's really, really good. The best value in New York. The flavor has a bit of "brightness" to it, which I enjoy. And it's consistent across every cup. Equally remarkable on price, the cafe au lait is $2.50 and if you ask for a decaf drip, it’s also $2.50, and it's a pour over! And after 4:00 p.m., most of the pastries are $1, including the vegan muffins and delicious almond croissants. The bagels are excellent and the bags of day-old bagels near the register are an inexpensive way to contribute to a potluck gathering. Their bacon, egg and cheese wraps are a giant step above the bodega BEC and include an optional butter/ garlic sauce. Despite the corner location, massive floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows, soaring ceilings, exposed brick walls and generous use of wood, the space is strangely uninviting for lingering. A table blocks off the back third of the cafe, which is visible and used for storage. The sidewalk facing windows are occupied by a refrigerator for grab-and-go juices and an unused foosball table. With a little (no-cost) furniture rearranging, the atmosphere of this place would be great. With additional seating, it would be fantastic. Come on Konditori, bring this space up to its amazing potential!
So let’s start with the coffee, I started with a MAPLE LATTE WITH ALMOND MILK, it was great loved it, not too bitter not too sweet it was well balanced. My partner in crime had a CARAMEL LATTE WITH OATMILK, this thing was good but what set it apart was that it tasted like a Guinness with milk if you’ve ever had it… the thing was good. Now on to the Yum-Yums. I had a MIXED-BERRY SCONE and THE GAMEOVER SANDWICH. The scone was excellent 5/5, not too dry because of the berries juices creeping into the dough and had a flavor that just screamed spring is here and balanced well with the coffee. THE GAMEOVER SANDWICH is a bacon, egg n cheese with tomato, jalapeño and house sauce on a bagel of choice, has a nice little kick to it. 5/5. My partner in crime had a chocolate espresso coconut ball. (This thing was a YESSS keep them coming) Only qualms with my experience was the WiFi wasn’t working well, not really a their fault kind of situation, the bathroom was employees only and there space in the back that can be used for more seating.
No indoor seating. Bagels are really good. BLT was too greasy for my liking.
Decent place but never come here in a rush, the girl forgets your order easily
Drinks here can be a bit inconsistent. What consistently looks amazing (and I've yet to be able to partake in) are the baked goods. I recommend you come here hungry so unlike me, you don't have to miss out!
The employees vary between really nice workers and someone who didn't so much as bother to remove ONE earbud when he took my order. (Why do you have music playing then?) It's clean, and a good, reliable wi-fi.
As a former Swedish resident, I was excited to check this place out. Sadly it was pretty underwhelming. I think the Swedish flags are placed everywhere to remind people of the owners nationality, because there is certainly nothing in the menu that does this.
Cute little place with good coffee and baked goods but I have never had such bad service-the woman serving barely grunted in response to people, didn't greet or thank anyone, and practically sighed and huffed any time anyone asked her anything. I actually went twice in one day because I was in the area and saw her interact with several guests including myself like this. Maybe she was having a bad day but it was super unprofessional.
Early morning on Monday and they already ran out of bagel. Food was okay, just an attitude of sandwich maker and cashier. Unwelcoming vibe gave out from them when I asked the question and when they gave me food.
Not sure how the bagel was already stale at 11 am.
today is day 989 since the covid lockdown, and this place is still takeout only. even for progressive park slope this is pretty rich. but, maybe they’re just going for 1000.
you can stand there and wait for service for 15 minutes and no one will bother to show up, much easier to take something from the counter and leave and STILL no one would notice
The phone number here does not work... Ur a coffee shop. Get a phone or voicemail system.
Where do you get off calling yourself "pastry shop" in Swedish, and then serve none of Sweden's celebrated pastries? Like, what's the point? Especially now that even non-Swedish cafes are baking the ever-more popular cardamom buns...
Mocha was quite bad. Too sweet and did not have a flavour of coffee/chocolate. The Bran Honey muffin however was quite good and earned it its 2 stars. There were flies hovering around the foods which was a little gross :(
Good coffee & delicious-looking food, but had a bad service experience at this location. After I tipped them for my coffee, the girls started complaining loudly about how few tips they were making, and then after placing my drink at the end of the counter out of sight --- proceeded to patronize me for not realizing that my drink had been made (Quote: "Oh my god like why is she just standing there? Your drink's been waiting at the counter forever.") They even made rude comments to the NEXT customer after me, who asked them a simple question about pastries and were met with extreme, unnecessary sarcasm. To those employees: Sorry I didn't hear you because I was trying to tune out your catty attitudes. Good luck making more tips in the future. I'm young and appreciate people having fun at work, but these employees need to either have more respect for their customers or at least WAIT UNTIL WE LEAVE to laugh at us. *eyeroll*
Came here as I was looking for a coffee shop to do some quick laptop work before heading to meet a friend in the area. It's an unkempt coffee shop with wooden tables and chairs in the front, a printing machine (not sure why), and a couch in the back. Random boxes stacked in the back and behind the counter is not a really good look. I got myself a maple flavored Iced Latte ($6) from their flavor selections. I liked my selection and it wasn't super sweet as you'd expect. I sat myself with my cup of coffee by the window where there was a ton of flies flying around and chillin. They gotta take care of that. Had to move away from the window area although that's where I usually like to sit. Didn't order any food so I cannot comment on that.
I wish I could rate on a different scale because the pastries are quite good. But the bagel was awful and I ended up throwing out the coffee, it was so bad. I learned that separately my wife, who bought the coffees and we went our separate ways, threw hers out as well. I’ve never thrown a coffee out before and I’ve had bad coffee.
Chai latte means a teabag of chai tea here. Horrible. The staff is nice and the bagels are good tho
The worst iced chai latte I've ever had. Tasted horrible. Not to mention, I had to wait 10 minutes to be served because no one was behind the counter. Unprofessional. Never going back.
NO BATHROOM even though they have 20+ seats. If a food service establishment has 20 or more seats and opened after 1977, it must provide a toilet for its customers. Not right.
Very disappointing. Was expecting some kind of Swedish pastries, but they just had standard baked fare. Coffee was mediocre. Not sure why you would go here compared to any other coffee shop in area.
Coffee tastes flavorless and burnt. Pastries are stale. To stay mugs are dirty. Same terrible pandora station playing all the time. Tons of way better coffee shops in the neighborhood
The coffee here isn't as good as The Cup around the block. They also keep the pasteries from the previous day and will sell you a day old croissant. I just bought a stale doughnut on Monday (normally they only feature doughnuts on Saturday and Sunday). It was the only doughnut there.
This is NOT a Swedish Konditori. A konditori is a bakery that serves Swedish treats, a confectionery. This is a café, an “ok” one. When I was there, no cardamom buns, no Swedish pastries at all. It’s like naming something a donut shop and only serve bagels.
McDonald’s quality but 10x the price, super dirty workspace, nothing was fresh, took forever and got our order wrong. Any bodega in a 5 mile radius is a better choice
They waited for me to buy coffee and food and then when I sat down proceeded to rudely tell me I couldn’t sit inside the shop. No reason given. It’s fine if they don’t want people to sit inside the huge cafe but make that clear, have some signs or something. People expect to be able to sit and have their coffee and food in a cafe. Average coffee , bad croissant, terrible service.
Very rude barista. Asked for an espresso over ice with some milk. When I asked for a splash more milk after receiving my drink, the barista gave me an annoyed look and told me that that was a completely different drink than I had ordered. Made me feel very unwelcome, so I walked right out and will not be back again.
But it’s not a Swedish Café? They don’t even have cardamom buns. Why wouldn’t they have cardamom buns?
Coffee is delicious, the ambiance is nice, and I’d love to settle in to work here more, but no public bathroom (even for paid customers) is the most wack policy. Can’t even wash my hands, thanks a ton.
Regrettably, on March 12th, 2025, I visited Konditori Swedish Espresso Bar at 187 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217. The clientele that day primarily consisted of individuals of European descent, all of whom seemed to have effortless access to the restroom facilities. However, my experience differed markedly after I made a purchase. As I attempted to use the restroom, a young Spanish lady wearing a black cap informed me she needed to verify permission with the person in charge before I could proceed. Thankfully, after a moment's consideration, the authority figure permitted me to use the facilities. It is disheartening, especially in an era where immigration issues have heightened tensions and sensitivities around ethnicity and race. Given that the staff that day were all Latinos, one might expect a greater empathy and less likelihood of discriminating against other minorities. I am inclined to believe that the discriminatory behavior I encountered may stem from the policies of the owner or upper management rather than the staff members themselves. This incident deeply upset me given my personal connection to the neighborhood. For over two decades, I taught at a prestigious public school nearby and lived in this community since 1990—a community that historically resisted racism and championed inclusivity. This recent experience starkly contrasts with the values I have known and cherished in this area. Although I refrained from causing a scene, I felt compelled to share this review to voice my disappointment.
This business doesn't care about essential workers, so if you are and essential worker do not support these people. They told me they don't care who I am or what I do. Bunch of inhumane I'm so disgusted by people that act like they're for a community and they're really not. Hope they're go out of business soon or move out of NYC period.
Ordered delivery from here and this place has gone downhill. The added a laughable amount of cheese to my wife’s egg and cheese. Hashbrowns sucked. Quality of the bagel was not good either. Just do better or close up shop.
My matcha latte was not good at all. It tasted watered down. The muffins are creative but dense and tasteless. The atmosphere is very cozy and the music selection is very nice. It was R&B. Service was quick but as far as options go, I can’t recommend anything here. Go to the coffee shop down the block instead
