The front staff was very courteous and helpful. Everything from the food to the environment was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend this place. My wife and I went with our young daughter and everyone absolutely loved the pizza.
walked through Park Slope recently and discovered Brooklyn DOP. newish pizzeria is narrowish with some counter seating inside and a bit more seating outside. the pizzeria serves up a limited. menu of artisan slices and round & square pies. slices are served up front via a small electric oven and whole pies are made and fired up in the pizza oven in the back. the interior is casually neighborhood classy. the pizza is really good. ordered up two slices of the “Giusepp” which is NY style plain slice. the crust is top-notch, a thinnish NYC slice — foldable firm airy crust. nice amount of crispness and chew. crust soaks up the balanced flavorful sauce and a thin melty layer of mozzarella nicely. finished off with basil, oregano, and parmigiana reggiano. the scent of the slice is deliciously subtle and amplifies the fresh flavors of the ingredients. since the name of this pizzeria has DOP in it—my guess it sources locally in NY but also a nod to pizza’s roots in Italy. slices run on the higher side— $3.75 + tax + tip staff is young and chill
I mostly order ahead and the pizza is amazingly fresh every time. They have a nice thin crust pie that stays away from the burnt side, with quality ingredients. Our go to is the Giusepp' with roni cups.
A top tier pizza spot in NYC, if they ever open in Manhattan the lines are gonna be ridiculous but justified.
By and large the best pizza in the area. Pepper flakes are a must. Love the backyard when dining in, but I also love to walk over and grab a pie to take home!
I'm Italian born and erase in Italy. This is one of the really few places where I enjoyed the Pizza. Is NY style, so different from the pizza I grew up but the dough is really really good, light well done and well cooked. the tomato sauce is nice and sweet not acidic and the mozzarella was a quality one. I saw the olive oil they used and you can get it with a nice piece of bread too so you can tell the guys knows what they are doing and care about quality and their job. I've tried the pizza with ricotta and lemon zest and was one of my favorite, an interesting combination between the two worlds italian and NY paired with a nice and chilled orange wine from Sicily suggested by the owner. well done guys!
What stands out the most at Brooklyn DOP is the service and atmosphere! Love the layout of the restaurant. They have two ovens, one for the slice shop in the front and the other in the back make for pies. Helps the customer get their food quick. The seating in the back courtyard was real cozy and spacious. The guy at the slice section of the shop was super nice and friendly. The pizza was very solid. Not the best in Brooklyn, BUT if you're in the area or going to Barclays, def worth stopping in.
WOW the vegan Giuseppe slice (particularly the mushroom shallot slice with garlic oil) was absolutely *incredible*. And these guys aren’t even using Daiya or some mediocre crap like that — they’re not kidding around… They’ve got Miyokos liquid mozz(!!!) ..…. The REAL. DEAL. Bk DOP, I appreciate you guys so much and am so glad to know you exist. My partner and I will definitely be returning again and again. Our only regret is that we didn’t learn about y’all sooner! 🫶🏼
So far my favorite pizza in NYC. They used to struggle a little making a consistent pizza, but they've gotten better about that, if you haven't liked them in the past, I'd suggest giving them another try. Both styles of their plain are very good and I love that they offer both. We would eat this a lot more if we lived a bit closer.
Had pizza delivered, utterly delicious, perfect for a cold night.
Delicious pizza and garlic knots. The restaurant gets a little cramped but the theme of it is great. The cashier was kinda confused about what pizzas were there but it was busy so I don't blame him. The pizzas were a little heavy on sauce but it's good tomato sauce so I didn't mind. For some reason the crust was served differently on my different slices. My cheese was thick and crunchy, yet my margarita was soggy, flimsy, and thin. The garlic knots could probably have used more oil but overall come to DOP.
Very tiny place but filled with ambience inside. I was rushing with errands and stopped here for a quick slice and I’m happy I did! A bit pricey but understandable because of the area and the artisanal way they make their pizza. Loved the pepperoni slice more than the Sicilian since there was more flavor on it but they were both amazing!
Decided to drop in for some slices after passing by a few times and it sure did not disappoint. Texture of the dough was perfect with a great crunch on the crust and right amount of sauce/toppings. We tried three different slices (3rd not pictured because I inhaled it before I remembered to take pics). Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating in the front and back. Definitely coming back !!
First tried their pizza during covid when DOP was still a glimmer in the eye. Those delicious pies became legend for their signature crunch without being charred like many other pizzerias. I don't live in Brooklyn but the pizza is worth the trip!
a pizza spot worth walking the distance for, even on a rainy night. like me you might grab one slice of spicy margherita, with the recommended red: a bold, but not overly tannic nero d’avola, then realize how necessary it is to have another round. the staff are wonderful and handle everything with care. I will be back before it rains again for sure.
Brooklyn DOP offers a genuinely authentic flavor, made with high-quality ingredients you can actually taste. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing it right—the quality comes through in every bite.
I went to this restaurant today while walking around the neighborhood just try different slices. The pizza is excellent. requested two "Giusepp" slices, which are basic slices made in New York. The crust is excellent, a thinish NYC slice with a firm, airy crust that can be folded. great bit of chew and crispness. A thin layer of melty mozzarella and a delicious sauce are well absorbed by the crust. Basil, oregano, and parmigiana reggiano are used as garnish. The slice's aroma is delectably understated and brings out the ingredients' vibrant flavors. Again, the pizza is excellent.
Best pizza around. Great first impression. Sean is really helpful and friendly. Exceptional operation!
Excellent slice! Highly recommend. If you re in the vacinity for a legendary Luigi's slice, make sure you don't miss Brooklyn D.O.P. It's a different pizza than Gio's, but so enjoyable.
Crispy crust, great ingredients. Some of the best pizza in Brooklyn.
Bianca (hold the shrooms) is off the planet delicious. Has so many flavor levels that stack 100% perfectly, add the several mouth-feel textural experiences, wizard level pizza…
Walked by and decided to grab a slice. They have grandma and regular slices. Full of flavor but the star of this place is the meatball sandwich. I’ve tried a lot of sandwiches in the city at the popular spots. Each has there own that put them on the map. But to be fair the meatball sandwich here is maybe one of the best sandwiches you can get in the city! Be patient when ordering, they take the time to make it( but it’s definitely worth the wait) The place is good to sit and eat, there is enough seating, indoors and outdoors. The pizza could be heated up a bit more but the taste was nevertheless amazing. Service is friendly,
A few weeks ago I took my family on a ride over to Brooklyn DOP, a place I've been hoping to get to on one of my visits to Brooklyn. It did not disappoint. Prepared by people who know how to make pizza. Clearly the ingredients were top notch and the balance of those ingredients were perfect. Jest the right amount of everything. We sampled the Grandma, the Giusepp', DOP Sicilian La Regina Margherita and the Seasonal Pie with Artichokes and Lemon zest. Just fantastic. The service as awesome with John serving us up our slices and pouring us our beer. A great experience and our must go to place on our next visit to Brooklyn.
A slice that touches your soul. A pizzeria like this should be searched for and can now be found in Park Slope. It hold true to its name. Denominazione d'Origine Protetta(protected designation of origin) The dough is tremendous. Fermented beauty. I had just about every slice on display. The cheese, the sauce, the salt, the oregano everything coming together for the perfect slice. I love this place. It’s warm and it’s welcoming it reminds me of home and something familiar. It takes a ton of work and knowledge to pull this off. The staff is lovely and the drink selection is perfect. This place is no joke. I HIGHLY recommend. Ps. Get the garlic knots you’ll thank me later. Brooklyn DOP Capo dei Capi! Salute!
amazing pizza ( and olive oil cake) and delivery order was on time. Bought a few pizzas for my nursing staff and everyone enjoyed! Will def order from here again.
Heard that this place was high on delivery apps so I decided to go try the margarita pie there. WOW was I delighted it was delicious! Ate the whole pie! Sometimes the hype never lives up to the product but this pie was all that and a bag of chips! Definitely coming back.
This is my new go to slice shop in the Park Slope area - good quality ingredients and they have some unique options. Came here later in the night and the pizza was fresh - you can tell they’re not trying to sell slices laying around. Would highly recommend and I’m looking forward to coming back very soon.
I’m a Manhattanite, unfamiliar with quality pizzerias in Brooklyn, but on the recommendation of someone in the neighborhood, I ordered seven pies delivered to a farewell party I was hosting at a local bar. Your pies were delivered on time and far exceeded my expectations. Absolutely first rate, New York style, pizza, I would recommend to anyone looking for the genuine article.
Always love ordering from DOP while getting to watch my pizza being made. People that work there are always pleasant. The pizza is superb.
Pizza was too good. Hot, crispy, perfectly sized slices, and not too much oil. This was my first time trying NY pizza and I'm glad to say I wasn't disappointed. Very thankful for the service as well. Because of a dietary restriction, I asked for the pizza to be cut with a clean blade to avoid cross contamination, and I was informed upon picking up the pizza that it has indeed been cut with a clean blade. A place that takes the care to listen and even make sure the customer knows that they did deserves customers. Thank you Brooklyn DOP!
Exceptional Pizza! Before coming to this place, Luigis was my favorite Pizza in New York City. But after today Brooklyn DOP took the #1 spot, and it wasn't even close. The texture of the crust is just perfect. Crispy, airy and it also got a great color. The cheese and the tomato sauce seem to be of very high quality with a well balanced flavor profile. I tried the Giusepp (NY Style) with and without pepperoni and the Bianca (White Pie) with mushrooms. The NY Style was my favorite. The Bianca was my first white pizza and I was pleasantly surprised. They recommended to try the Pizza with Mike's Hot Honey and I really enjoyed the combination. There were also some other pizza toppings and a large selection of beverages. The guy behind the counter was amazing, top notch service. It was just his second day working at this place, but if you ask me, he already deserves a raise. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. I'm glad I found this place through the One Bite/Barstools Sports review on Instagram. I will definitely come back to try the Margherita and the Grandma and Sicilian style slices. I can highly recommend you to give Brooklyn DOP a try and enjoy their pizza. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
This pizza is exceptional!! Truly artisanal. The texture of the crust is crispy and airy at the same time!! The ingredients are authentic and top notch. I just tried the new Sicilian slice with meatballs and Sunday sauce on the side. It was incredible! They also have a great meat ball Parm and the bread is made on the premises. Highly highly recommend and that’s coming from someone who knows pizza! I grew up in the pizza business!! The ambiance is crafted beers and unique wines contribute to the great experience. If you haven’t tried this place You are missing out!!!
would highly recommend the large pepperoni pie. it had the crispy bottom that held the whole pizza together. impressively, cheesy with a capital c, and salty and toasty pepperonis and chewy bread. it was the works. We had the margarita it was good but it pales in comparison to the pepperoni, you should eat it fresh and not the next day because it is not one of those pizzas that impresses you when you reheat it even in the oven.
This is a very small place but the pizza was amazing and yes the crust is really as good as they say it is. The sauce was fresh and the cheese was just right. We were bummed that the back seating area was closed due to the construction but I plan on going back next time I’m in Brooklyn.
Worst experience ever! No response from management. Cold pizza, cold calzone, cold everything. This is how the pizza arrived.if you like cold and unrecognizable pizza order from them. Otherwise, seek elsewhere. Buyer beware!
Garlic knots, pepperoni slice and salad was fantastic. Will be back.
What a great place. The slices are well cooked and brown crusts (my weakness). I keep coming back for their seasonal special with figs and ricotta. DOP make it permanent.
Of the 8 slices of pizza we ate on our self-guided pizza walking tour, the pizza at Brooklyn DOP was our favourite! The pizza had a perfect crisp base, deliciously crispy but also soft inside crust and the topping was perfectly seasoned (not overly sweet or salty like some places). Would highly recommend and will most definitely be back next time I'm in New York for one of each slice!
love this place! the long ferment sourdough crust is great for some dietary restrictions in our house and everything is delicious. big fan of the patio when it’s warm out
I really liked the pizzeria! The pizza was really delicious, with fresh ingredients and a great dough. The establishment has a pleasant, cozy atmosphere in which it is comfortable to spend time. I would like to mention the staff separately: polite, attentive and friendly. Only positive impressions remained.
We visited this pizzeria on Christmas and had an amazing experience. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The best pizza we’ve tried in New York. The place is located in Brooklyn and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who are wonderful, genuine people and clearly passionate about what they do. We will definitely come back. Highly recommend this place!
Brooklyn DOP is a cozy, casual pizzeria that’s perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal. The space is small but efficiently designed, featuring an open kitchen in the back and a counter at the entrance displaying the available pizzas. A few tables and a counter with high chairs provide seating for those who prefer to dine in. During my visit, I ordered two slices, one plain and one spicy. The slices were freshly heated, and the dough was well-made, with a nice balance between softness and structure. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful, and the pizzas were not overly fluffy, which can sometimes indicate a less-than-ideal preparation. Overall, the taste was excellent and very satisfying. Service was simple, courteous, and efficient. The pizzeria has a steady flow of regulars picking up slices, suggesting it is well-loved by the local community. Prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of the pizza. In summary, Brooklyn DOP is a reliable spot for great pizza with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and a welcoming, no-frills atmosphere. I will definitely return for more.
Very, very good NYC pizza — a true classic New York slice/pie. The sauce is zesty with just a touch of sweetness, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The crust hits that ideal NYC sweet spot: crispy on the outside with just the right amount of chew. Simple, traditional, and done right — exactly what good New York pizza should taste like.
Flew in from LA today and friends that live a couple of blocks away recommended this place! (so similar to the previous review it’s just ridiculous haha) it’s a great pizza. I got the Giusepp’ slice and the one with flor Di late. Liked the Giuseppe slice that is more typical New York style pizza more. They also have bread, garlic knots and other yummy bread-y things!
Flew in from LA Wednesday morning and wanted to try some NY pizza and was recommended this spot which was 2 blocks away from where I’m staying for the next few days. This place did not disappoint, it was so good! Ordered a fresh pepperoni pie for me and my friends, they had other different types available that looked so good. Will come back to try their grandma slice. They had a really nice patio too if you wanna sit down and eat comfortably.
Delicious artisan slices. My son and I had two slices apiece.. He had the cheese and I had the broccoli shallot white pizza... Both came out beautifully and tasted even better... I thought it was very clever to offer a white pizza option I could see the olive oil on the pizza... This is one of the better slices I've had in a long long time... It is a little on the smaller side... I would estimate about 10 seats or so...but cozy, neighborhood feel... Nice staff... I did not try the calzone...it seems like for the most part overwhelmingly people are purchasing pizza slices here, at least when we were there...
The pizza is really, really good, especially if you like a crispy, crunchy thin NY slice. I've had it a few times and have enjoyed it. It did have a little bit of a char/burn taste to it on my most recent visit there that was a little disappointing, but it was near closing and they were doing there best to accommodate us late night pizza cravers and I'll definitely be back again
Pizza is awesome. Some of the best I've eaten. I'd give it a 5 star rating but the woman who works the counter isn't very friendly.. They also charged me a service charge fee which is usually reserved for credit card charges but we paid cash. Not cool.
very tasty pizza. however it was better cold because the herbs really sunk in day 2+. wanted more meat on the pizza, but the crust was A+. FYI because I had to look up what DOP means: D.O.P. - Denominazione d'Origine Protetta (Italian: Protected Designation of Origin), meaning food of the highest quality ingredients
One of my favorite places to grab a slice, their cheese slice is probably the best slice I’ve ever had. They have a nice backyard patio so I really prefer to eat here rather than order delivery. However, the service here is pretty inconsistent. It’s sort of a gamble coming for a slice because sometimes they just prioritize the delivery orders and the counter has almost nothing to offer by the slice. I was just here and was waiting over 35 mins just for the kitchen to restock the by the slice pies. And when they did, there was a rush of other people waiting and they sold all the slices almost instantly. Kinda just have to hope that when you go in they’ll have some fresh pies available by the slice otherwise you could be waiting a while. The people behind the counter are nice but clearly overwhelmed by handling delivery and in-store customers, it’s a process to get a fresh slice here, but so worth it
The woman told us the dough is cold fermented for two days, which is amazing. The pizza LOOKS truly incredible, and it is tasty, but not spectacular. The ingredients are definitely very high quality, but overall, it didn’t quite have the OOMF factor that I thought it would have. The crust is crispy and has a beautiful char, the tomato sauce was good but on the light side, and the cheese was generous/not glue-y. The pizza rose was super underwhelming- I would stick the slices here.
We got take out, but the place is cute inside. The place is pricier than an average take out pizza place but not compared to other similar places in the neighborhood. We got the Giuseppe (NY style) pizza with sausage and shallots. The sauce was so good, a nice amount of cheese, and high quality toppings. However the dough is denser and has a sour dough quality instead of the light airy pizza I prefer. We also got the garlic knot meatball sliders, which surprisingly did not have any cheese. The meatball was good. Overall, I would definitely return.
Pizza was good but the service could definitely be improved. Ordered online and got a text that it was ready for pickup but was told that it’s still in queue, the text messages are just automated. Was told to come back in 12min as they got a big order right before. We came back and said it’s still gonna be another 10min our order in next. Would appreciate clarity around timing for when the order is ready for pickup on online orders.
We finally got to try this pizza - Brooklyn DOP! It's a laid-back pizza joint that's perfect for a chill evening out. The ambiance is super relaxed, making it an excellent choice for a casual dinner with friends or a quick bite on your own. Plus, the price range is moderate, so you won't break the bank. Their signature dish is, of course, their delicious pizza, and let me tell you, it's a must-try! I'm also obsessed with their pepperoni and broccoli pinwheels - they're scrumptious! What really sets Brooklyn DOP apart, though, is their beautiful outdoor seating area in their garden. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a slice (or two) on a nice day. Inside, the restaurant is super clean and cozy, with plenty of seating for a quick bite. One thing to note is that the service could be better, but they busy and it was a Friday night. The highlights of this place are its very cool and laid-back feel, the freshness of their ingredients, and the full outdoor space. Whether you're in the mood for a relaxed dinner or just want to grab a slice and go, Brooklyn DOP is an excellent choice. So, if you're in the area, be sure to stop by and give it a try - your taste buds will thank you!
Generally okay, but pricey and there are plenty of other options. Seasonal slices often good, but classics are strangely hit or miss
I recently ordered a cannoli from Brooklyn DOP, and while the dessert itself was absolutely delicious, I was deeply disappointed by the packaging choice. They used an unnecessarily large plastic container to deliver a single cannoli—a decision that felt incredibly wasteful and out of touch with modern environmental standards. A small paper box would have been a far more appropriate, eco-friendly alternative. Coming back from Germany, where businesses prioritize sustainability and avoid such excessive plastic usage, this experience was especially jarring. It’s frustrating to see such carelessness from a business that otherwise seems to take pride in quality. This kind of disregard for environmental impact is not only harmful to the planet but also makes patrons like me feel complicit in the wastefulness. As much as I enjoyed the cannoli, I cannot justify supporting a business that makes such irresponsible choices. It’s 2024—we can and should be doing better. I hope Brooklyn DOP rethinks its packaging policies, because until they do, I won’t be returning.
The pizza is okay, but very dry. The staff is inattentive, when you talk to them they act like you don't exist, they don't listen to you and try to avoid you. The atmosphere is okay.
First off the cashier girl, was too busy playing with her phone, doesnt acknowledge me. Than almost catches an attitude and I still tipped. $5.00+ for a slice not worth it. Ordered 4 slices. Was the food good? It was decent. It was heated in some small toaster oven, what the heck. Was the atmosphere good? No, people just sitting around occupying space preventing real patrons from enjoying a slice or two. If your finished eating, move along. Also, randoms waiting for their pies to go occupying space that could be used for eating. Was the service good? Decent, but cashier girl needs to say thank you, especially when someone places $ into the tip jar. Had far better service and pizza from businesses that appreciate the business. Artichoke was packed to the walls - Thats where ill be going.
Meh. There are better pizzas in the neighborhood. Nothing special about this one. Tried it a few times but not my go-to.
This place has been my go-to pizza joint for delivery pretty much since their opening, but my first visit in person couple days ago was a huge disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend getting a slice here in person unless you're prepared to be treated like a second-class citizen by the incredibly rude and entitled employees
Don't bother wasting your money. Lacks flavor , no cheese was barely on my slice. Not worth it. Disappointed for nyc style pizza. Never again.
My friend and I came in around 7ish and was met with a lady behind the counter that seems as if she lacked patience with us. Every other customer that came in and left’s she greeted with a warm welcome and left them with a warm departure while my friend and I weren’t greeting or left with anything. As we ordered she seemed very impatient with us trying to figure out which pizza was which because the placements of the signs were confusing. I wouldn’t recommend this place off the service alone and the pizza wasn’t all that either. More sauce than cheese. Highly disappointed.
