Its a neighborhood restaurant that I have been going to since it opened. Great yummy french/American cusine . Staff are pleasant and food arrives swiftly. But 1 negative is that you have to pay with cash or amex. Which is difficult because I only have a Visa card and who carries money anymore 🤣. They do have an atm in front but it charges a fee so be aware of that.
Damn did we have an awesome lunch here today. Best burger I’ve had in a while, perfect steak frites and amazing French onion soup. Service was top notch too. Great way to start the new year! 😀
What a cozy French vibe! We had great $1.50 oysters for the Thursday special and for a cold winter night what is more delicious than cassoulet and beef bourguignon. Excellent service, everyone was attentive from the server to the bartender to the owner. True neighborhood spot with French bistro decor that doesn’t feel cheesy at all, could be in a less touristy part of Paris. A new fave!
Best hollandaise sauce I have ever had. Brunch was a delight, lots of space outside, brought the dog, prompt and friendly servers. Love the neighborhood, too!
Always a great experience at this cozy spot. We do miss the old oven pizzas, but the rest of the food makes up for it. The lamb burger is a must. The outdoor seating is super nice too.
No hesitation about dining here again. Each staff person showed real interest. The remarkable service deserves special mention! The meal created a desire to return. The food satisfied us, staff was friendly, and our time there was nice.
Been here a couple of times for dinner. It's been a hit every time. The service is attentive and prompt. Cocktails are well balanced and the selection rotates. Skirt steak is well cooked to order, but the highlight of that dish is definitely the potatoes gratin. There is also a great selection of deserts and coffees to finish out your meal.
I was planning a repast and needed a location close to Green-wood Cemetery, and Le Paddock extended their warmest welcome to us. It was on such short notice but they worked with us to make our celebration of life so beautiful. The food was incredible, and they accommodated to our guests’ many dietary restrictions. The staff were so helpful and patient. And Sylvia and Gregory (the owner and manager) took great care of us. I would have another event there in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!
This was not my first time at Le Paddock, and definitely not the last one. The place has a strong neighborhood vibe, and is the busiest restaurant on the stretch of Prospect Ave. in Windsor Terrace. When you approach it - the first thing you will see is a bunch of happy, smiling clients involved in conversations, sitting outside and gobbling up food that just keeps coming. It is not a restaurant: it's a club! It feels like everyone there knows each other. The staff is always pleasant and respectful. One of the owners is always around, for an extra smooth experience. It's good to know that one does not have to shlep all the way to Manhattan for a top notch French restaurant experience: Santé! P.S. Fire roasted shrimp and escargot are will increase your appetite like nothing else. We need more restaurants like Le Paddock in the area.
I just came here for the first time today for brunch. Everything was delicious from the Bloody Mary to the Matcha Creme Brulee. The prices are also very reasonable. Since we are living in COVID times and right now only outdoor seating is permitted it is comforting that the outside enclosure has heaters. Plus, my waiter actually got me an additional heater (without me even asking) to make sure I was extra comfortable. Now everyone that is customer service at its finest. This is my first visit and most certainly not my last. But be forewarned that this place only accepts cash and Amex.
Brunch here is one of the best deals in Brooklyn! You seriously can't beat the amount and quality of the food for the price. The atmosphere is delightful and the food is SO GOOD! We had the French toast and the omelet with gruyere and ham, and both were perfect. The location is also wonderful in that it is so close to the subway stop. I'm already planning to return as soon as possible!
Very nice indoors and out. The street is quiet, so it’s good for sitting outside! I wasn’t wowed by the food (except the shrimp on the salad was unusually delicious); the cantaloupe gazpacho should’ve been smoother and the chicken was a bit dry (although the sauce/jus was yummy and helped). But the vibe is here is cozy and international (heard different languages spoken at the tables), which I like.
I enjoyed my brunch. The mimosa was strong and tasted good. I didn’t really care for the chorizo omelette special, it just kind of tasted bland. I was hoping for more chorizo to give it flavor because the eggs were not well seasoned, if seasoned. Now, I still wanna go back because the potatoes, greens, and escargot were good so I think the regular menu orders are good and I just came for a special at the wrong time. Other than that, had a great time and recommend.
Solid neighborhood eats. The ambiance and vibe is a 10. Waitstaff are really attentive and awesome. Food has been great. French onion soup is killer. The burger is excellent. I recently had the steak and loved it. Very kid / family friendly. Good drink menu. Prices are pretty standard for Brooklyn.
Food was good. Although the servers were nice, food took a long time to arrive. Almost 20 minutes for a burger. They offered no water to my dogs, and they only that Cash or Amex. They got an ATM inside but with all the technology and cards we have now why go to a place where I have to pay an extra 5 just to pay the bill.
Service was friendly, quick, and welcoming; ambiance was warm but a little darker for some tables than others. We came here to try their restaurant week menu and ordered the escargot, salmon risotto, cassoulet, crème brûlée and chocolate cup de creme. We also ordered the deviled eggs from their regular menu. Escargot: 2/5, like other diners have noted, the flavor is on the blander side, which could be improved to your own liking with some salt. My wife's plate came with lots of sauce whereas mine barely had any, so there's also inconsistency in terms of its preparation which is unfortunate. Deviled eggs: 1/5, overly mustardy which overpowered the entire dish, where there's no other flavor present; no sweetness, no savoriness, just the burn from the mustard. Salmon Risotto: 2/5, the salmon at first arrived pretty raw in the inside, which is evident in the picture. They fixed it for us kindly, which we appreciated it. However, the risotto were also quite tough and not soft like it normally would be. Flavor was also on the blander side and we had to adjust it to our liking by just constantly adding salt. Cassoulet: 3.75/5, not your typical cassoulet which is often served with breadcrumbs, and came with some beans, 3-4 pieces of sausage, and a duck leg with some pancetta bits. The duck leg was perfectly cooked, juicy, and tender. The rest of the dish felt small, like half the bowl it came in was empty when they could've added more beans just to make it more hearty. Definitely had better but it's not bad. The creme brûlée and chocolate cup were both 5/5 for us, for they were both perfectly crafted, big in portion, aesthetically pleasing, and just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess! I would definitely get them both and I promise you won't regret it; whoever made the desserts did everything right! Overall it was a decent experience for us; though we have high hopes Le Paddock can definitely improve and reach the 5 stars I know they have the potential of achieving! So give them a shot and definitely get the desserts! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
I wanted to like this place but unfortunately my meal was not very good & our waiter disappeared on us, mid-meal. Beef bourguignon should be flavorful and hearty, theirs was bland & thin. The calamari & salad were quite pleasant, but if you’re going to be a French restaurant, you have to get the staples right.
